- Found some nice parks that allow camping.
My name is Brian. I live on the road full time in my self built camper van. Join me on my adventures.
In this video I depart from my camp at WoodBottom Campground in Loma, Montana. On the way out of the campground I stop at Decision Point to take in some views. Then I head towards Harlem, Montana where I find an interesting little park that offers free camping. After a nice overnight, and doing laundry the next day, I continue east on Highway 2 towards Hinsdale, Montana where I find a great free campground in another city park. Milk River Park was a great place to camp for free. See you in the next video!
Thanks for watching!

Very cool that you could one stop camp, do laundry and resupply, awesome.
+Don Milligan Indeed! If the pool area wasn't closed I could have taken a shower there also👍
Looks like you found some sweet little spots. But then you always do!
love your'e video's Brian l'm jealous! ya i saw also you left your stool!! good luck see ya sometime in san diego.
Love following along on Goggle Maps while watching your videos; makes me feel more like I'm "there". You do an excellent job with your videos; great editing! Thoroughly enjoyable.
Quite interesting to follow you, Brian, you have a smooth style and travel and camp so gracefully, and come up with all these sweet spots! I know that effect of a light catching your eye after dark and you realize you are looking over someone's shoulder at their TV, I never have any interest in what they are watching, but it is funny that they do not realize or care that someone else is watching for a moment.
US-2 is a beautiful highway! I traveled from Minot to Troy, MT camping after short days so that I could explore every afternoon. I love those quiet farm towns, and the millions of acres of golden wheat. Good folks live up there.
Thanks for the little town experience. Yeah, doing the Lewis and Clark would be cool.
Hi Brain , love you video's😳💝🎈
Cathy from Ontario here... Love the places your visiting!!! I'm gearing up to do the same.
A Lewis & Clark trip would be great!
I love that part i go camping there
It does look like a great place for a float trip, Lewis and Clark style.
Small town USA, lovin it
I admire youre endevour . I spent about 16 yrs. Working for an airline . just like a sugarbeet job. Every week. Now, I aspire to be Just Like You! And Im steps away from getting there.. You have no Idea , the positive Impact you have!! NO idea.. Thank you,, n UA-cam!!
Nice video, Montana gets so cold in the winter I've had to rule it out for year round, otherwise it's perfect! I really hope that we can arrange a national fishing license in the future!
How awesome.... You can tell Fall is there... The trees are starting to turn colors... And yea was that your step stool you left at the city park? LOL... I felt like a Dork, sitting here pointing going Brian is that your stool? ROFL!!.. Oh Brother!... hehehe..... Have a Safe Trip.....
hey, i’m from hinsdale! the small maroon swimming yes was donated in memory of my great grandpa roy! my house is actually right down stream from where you were!
That spot along the river hasn't changed any since Lewis and Clark saw it,Fall is here too, first snow in the sierras tonight as a low front comes through.
Ohhh, you did leave your stool..😞 Your up close to Canada! I remember I was in Shelby, MT. One time, and I saw the Aurora Borealis! First time from the states. I wonder why that swimming pool was so bad off. Sad. Happy trails!! 🦋🦋🦋🦋👍
Rode my bicycle through there on the Northern Tier. Pretty much every town had a little park you could camp at for free. The only thing you had to worry about were automatic sprinklers. It's incredibly beautiful up there and everyone I met was super friendly.
I see that several comments noticed you left your step stool. :) I love the small town park camping. Enjoyed your video as always, thanks!
Lost On Land Again .... People are so observing....
Lol, I didn't notice that at all....... now I am going to watch it again very closely..
Brian, you definitely had some really cool stops on the road...just beautiful sceneries...
Thanks
Montana is my favorite State in the contiguous US. Caught my first cut-throat trout on the Yellowstone River out of Livingston, MT.
Where have you been Carolina? When is your next video?
Harlem is probably on the Adventure Cycling bicycle route called the Northern Tier. They would have the bicycle camping next door to the pool so that cyclist's could take hot showers.
Nothing like being able to clear your mind before the hustle of the Sugar Beet Harvest.
I love city park campgrounds. I stopped in Harlem MT too and thought it felt weird being so close to the apartments and such. People were friendly though. Thanks for sharing :)
Harlem, MT and highway 2 is on the Adventure Cycling Association northern tier bicycle route that runs from Washington to Maine. That's the reason they cater to bicyclists.
now thats how ya leave it behind lol
Looks like a quiet village that Harlem.
Nice little park you found! I know you retrieved your stool, I'm just hoping it wasn't after you'd gotten 90 miles away. :(
I want to do the Lewis and Clark trail also. Ive done parts of it but not in its entirety.
Small towns are usually welcoming to travelers
time looks like its at a stand still in hinsdale mt. LOL...just my type of town.
👍👍❤️❤️
Come say hi in Livingston,mt !
Hey Brian which Camp you gunna be at this year? Im gunna be at Minto, ND. Headed that way from Texas
When you are boondocking in some of these places with rough road access, do you ever have any issues with your tires from the rocks etc?
😎👍👍
turkey feathers!!!!
Hey at 8:43, you forgot your little foldable stool :(
Really nice stops. How did you find them, on an app?
+pilotdiana I just used a cheap Wal-Mart Atlas.
Bet your van goes through some shocks! They have airbags that will stiffen your ride. They fit inside the springs.
looks like cabovers and motor aren't allowed with them low branches at entrance unless it was just the wide angle lens making it look that way
Did you leave your step stool behind. Looked like a folding step stool in front of the van as you backed out.
Hi, Do you think to come to NYC ?
Oh No you left your stool, I was wishing there was a way to get you to look back at it
HEY DUDE!!! you forgot your step stool!!
🖒🖒✌
hey Brian im in the market for a bike rack for my van (just one bike) i was wondering if you recomend the one you have there
FYI...To save on washing a cutting board you can cut your banana "in peel." Just peel off one section of your banana and slice as normal. The remaining peel keeps the banana in place. It is a little awkward at first but it may work for you.
+Cathie Dawson Thanks, that's how I do it when I'm not filming. Get a much more dramatic effect cutting on the board. ✌
I think if you went north about 200 miles you be at my lake
Lake diefenbaker saskatchewan canada
Hey man, any good boondocking spots in Yellowstone?
You can get away with it if you are lucky but it's illegal. Pay camping only or backcountry packing with permit. There is boondocking outside Grand Teton NP.
Lewis & Clark actually carried air rifles for hunting on their journey.
What happened to the Saturday chat series?

How do you find places like the city park in Harlem ? An app or other resource…
Good ol’ map.
You left your step back at the park

Hello, Crystal Vanner and welcome to the nomadic lifestyle. As you travel westward check out the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque NM. Oct 7-15.( www.balloonfiesta.com/event-info/event-schedule) Check the area called Quartzite Arizona. It is an area where RV from around the world winter between October -May. A permit costs $160.00 for that time period to be legal. There is a rally held in January called the Rubber Tramp Rally (www.cheaprvliving.com/gatherings/). At this event, you can find vedors to help you with fixing your van, job opportunities with the National Parks, and various other employers who seek Nomadic van dewellers and camp host to work in the hundreds of different jobs during the year. Check out the "Sugar Beat Harvests" in central Midwest (www.sugarbeetharvest.com/)
