  • Idaho has some great free camping! My name is Brian. I live on the road full time in my self built camper van. Join me on my adventures. In this video I leave my camp at Crowther Reservoir in Malad City, Idaho ( GPS: 42.20483, -112.25482 ). I head towards McCammon, Idaho and find another great great free campground at Goodenough Creek ( GPS: 42.65528, -112.28533 ). I also cook up some awesome nachos on my camp stove. Van life is the best!!
    Thanks for watching.

... and you (AVM) should set up a Patreon account but make it completely optional, that way you may get something to supplement your income but since its optional, you don't have any pressure to do anything more than what you're doing - which is far better than most!!

Brian,I think you are the kinda guy who could have been one of the early pioneers, traveling short distances at a snails pace and enjoying every minute of it exploring all the flora and fauna. In this fast paced society not many people stop and smell the roses much less enjoy a calm morning reflection on a small lake.I think you set a great example of how we should simplify our lives.😊✌

I just started watching your vlog yesterday. I have to say, you have such a positive outlook on life that makes contagious. I've been watching other full time rvers and sometimes I'm left feeling like they are whining because life isn't perfect. You just seem so positive, even when there wasn't a space where you wanted you made the best out of it. Great job!

Brian, I don't believe I have ever commented on anyone's UA-cam channel, but I am compelled to do so here. Your videos are so informative and I truly appreciate how genuine you are and how you always share exactly where you find the boondocking spots! I'm going to be starting to travel in my van and It is actually because of the way you do, I feel so much more comfortable in doing so. I've shared some of your videos with my family and friends so they can see it's not so scary. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing!

It is so exciting that you are showing me places where I can go easily from my home in Idaho Falls. I love how much I am learning from you about my area, and I think it is funny to learn from a UA-cam channel when I could just go out there myself. When I go camping, I have always headed away from IF to the North towards Yellowstone or into Wyoming to the GTNP area. But you have shown me some beautiful spots to explore that are closer. I am excited to try out both of the campgrounds in today's video. In case you haven't seen it, Mali Mish made a beautiful drone video of Bayhorse Ghost Town very near where you are in this video. I have been wanting to go here too. I have some exploring to do, right?
As a woman camping alone, it is very helpful to me to have your videos to encourage me to try a place. I have driven down some dirt roads around here that led me to some not-so-beautiful and even unwelcoming places. With your videos I can get a feel for where I am going and feel braver to go on my own. You do provide a wonderful service. Thanks again!

I love to watch though rarely comment. These are the four reasons I am drawn to your channel: 1) Solid info on each camp (where, cost, etc) 2) Sharing of your thoughts, feelings, observations in a positive manner 3) Cooking segments, and 4) Drone footage. The combo of the above makes for interesting, in depth, useful and beautiful viewing. Thank you for that. :-) Oh, and the music...love the music...

Hi Brian, I always enjoy your videos and would like to add my two cents to some of your other viewers' comments re. Patreon.I agree wholeheartedly with them that the content and quality of your work is very good, and better than that of many channels w. a Patreon acct. You may just prefer not to do it, and of course that's your personal choice. But if you're really thinking your videos aren't good enough... I have to disagree. The Patreon idea seems like a good one for both creators and viewers; obviously it can help support the journey and craft financially, but it also allows folks to show their appreciation in a more personal way than Amazon purchases, etc. There's joy in giving...that's so true. And it looks like quite a few of your viewers are interested in sharing the joy! But whatever you decide, thanks for the great videos - btw, your nachos were beautiful!

I saw a thought about Patreon. My suggestion would be to have a blog with a donate button. Patreon charges you every time you donate, too much. If you have a paypal button people can donate and not be charged. I personally like to give something to the channels I like and watch regularly and you are certainly putting out a worth while video.

    Greetings Brian,
I enjoy your videos and seeing all the beautiful places you visit. It would be nice for you to discuss accessibility and what rigs will fit and what rigs won't in the places you visit. You did that somewhat in this video. I have a 26 foot Travel Trailer and would like to know in advance if my rig will fit in some of the places you visit. I don't want to get to far off the path but I didn't want to be limited either so I went with 26 foot. I think this kind of info will be a big help to many of your viewers.

I've definitely got to look for some Cholula hot sauce when I go grocery shopping come Tuesday. I'm not sure if they sell it here in Alabama, but being that you went to Florida to do their comercial, I would think that it be stocked on the shelves here.
Excellent drone views in this one Brian, beautiful land out there. Having a drone really makes a difference in van life videos, traveling videos.
I was wondering if you were going to go through Wyoming in this journey ? From other videos I've seen there are some moose and elk in the Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming.
As a photogragher, doing work in the most common of all categories, like landscape photography, capturing moose, elk, bear, deer, and if I'm blessed, capturing still shots and video shots of a mountain lion would be so very awesome, if I can keep a safe distance away from one so as not to get eaten alive.. lol.. is what I'm hoping so much to do when I get out there sometime in the future.
And do some fishing, like in the lake that you were at in this video, if fishing is allowed. Last year I bought a lifetime fishing license, being that I'm disabled, and I then went out to buy a reel and rod and found a new one by Zebco, a 404, and was very pleased with its contents, but before I could go fishing, it was stolen out of a friend's toolbox on his truck when he had to put it in shop before we could go fishing, so out of 3 or 4 mechanics one of them scoffed off with my fishing gear. But I'll get another one soon.
I enjoyed another video here, and one of the things I love the most by watching your videos is the adventure, of not knowing what the next camping spot you go to will be like, and the people or circumstances that you run across, like on that narrow dirtroad in your video.
It's always so very enjoyable to watch your videos Brian, you never know where and what the next camp will look like but you know that it will be beautiful most likely.
Looking forward to seeing your next one. Many blessings and peace to you man. ✌ 😃

Enjoy your channel, our Public Land in California sure is expensive. Just like you I have this Love and Hate relationship with California. IM forcing my wife to watch your videos, so she can understand why I want to release the shackles and chains and hit the road. Selling the house and all possessions, family trying to have me ccommited!

I love the videos. I really enjoy watching the cooking aspects of your videos. Do you ever miss having a true home cooked meal at all that includes all the sides and everything?

I noticed that u eat good food. Great intake calories but you don't over do it. Perfect balance. I guess that's part of being outdoors . You need enough calories to keep u active and going without risking dangerous weight gains and the issues that came with it. Plus food taste better when cooked in nature. You got it right bro.
