These videos are just awesome! Old school bikes are beautiful! I am really glad I bumped into your videos. I saw all twelve episodes and I'm looking forward to see more of them. I love your attention to details. Also, great choice regarding the bike. I'm thinking about doing the same, but with a ZXR 750.
Thanks! Appreciate that a lot mate. If you’ve binged them then I apologise to the pace the new ones come out 😂 That would be sweet to do the earlier model. Still a few bargains to be had if you’re happy to put the work in!

Yo Tom. Love all your 12 videos so far. You made me go from Dreaming to doing. Im gonna start taking my Owen ZX-7R apart in two weeks, thanks to you, doing alot of pause/play on you videos 😂 I build my Owen Harley 1930 from scratch which was easy but never did a japaneres bike before and your videos gave me enough confidence to get started. Thank you so far and can’t wait to see The next wideo. You are awesome 🎉
This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing, it’s one thing to go through the process and share it with people, but a completely different thing when it has an impact on their own projects and motivation! Good luck!
@@tomsworkshopprojects Yeah im takning my hat of for U, restoring and making a video 🥳 Im turning mine in to a naked bike when Im done restoring evererything. I wil share U some pictures when Im done if U want to see it.

Awesome work Tom! I have been watching your videos for a while now, and im always thrilled to see when you upload a new video, always very educational and interesting. I love your work and precision! I have a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 636c 2006 which is completely disassembled from a nasty accident and its waiting to be restored. I like that there are many similarities between the ZX7R and the ZX6R and you tought and showed me many things and prepare me for the awesome adventure im gonna have with my bike. And I think you also played a role inspiring me to make a UA-cam channel for my project! Best regards from Germany! Keep up the awesome job! 💪
Nice one Tom!! For someone who's first crack at 4-stroke top end work, you're doing a mighty fine job. I'll be sending you my 5 valve Genesis head to do for me while I'm off at work...cheers!
😂 I’ve been grateful to only have 16 on this head, after doing the valve clearances on the FZR, time and cost just goes up another level with 5 more valves to worry about. Thanks for your support Ken 👍🏻
Very nice videos. Looking forward to the assembly ;) Learned alot from the videos so far. I am gonna testdrive and maybe buy and old zx9r B3 1996 saturday ;)
Very detailed work, nicely done! I had a lot of used motorcycles over the years and this is how they should all be restored. I wouldn't have enough patience to do what you are doing but I am performing my own maintenance though. To me, the most important aspect on a motorcycle is for it to be able to start and carry me from A to B. Everything else is luxury :P I think I am a little bit stressed up by the number of cases where I was stranded and had to call the tow truck :D Waiting for the next video, Tom. Good luck!
I know what you mean! I’ve had to rely on mine for transport to work some years ago, and it really was the bare minimum to keep them going, but now life’s at a different stage I can take my time to go deeper and learn some new skills 🤓

Yeah that’s my thinking, which is why I didn’t bother checking them on the strip down, as I knew they’d all change after lapping, I’m hoping they’ll be some that can switch around, or that I already have in stock 🤞
No need, he is already going the extra mile. If it was a very high mileage engine then I would do that, but even on my 2000 ZX9r I didn't do half of this when I had the head off last year as it was only on 22k miles and well maintained. I did sort out the valve clearances though.
The clocks show 21k, but the MOT history is flakey. I have a feeling it’s not the original engine, hence why I’m doing a full health check, but so far I’ve not found anything that suggests it’s been to the moon and back 😂
Watching these videos makes me really appreciate the skill of the original designers and engineers. Geniuses!
Amazing attention to detail, Allen Millyard would be proud. Looking forward to seeing this bike running.

Hello friend, I'm from Mexico, sorry, what oil and spark plugs does the motorcycle have?
Hi, I’m not sure off the top of my head but this may help? letmegooglethat.com/?q=which+oil+and+spark+plugs+for+kawasaki+ZX7R%3F
I thought that the shims will need replacement after lapping of the valves? Since you take away material the measurements will be different right?
