    The Trio absolutely crushes the BeatBuddy imo. It's an amazing little rhythm section that's great for practicing/learning or writing songs, or just jamming along. Great for teaching as well. Great playing and demo by Mark Cooper!

    Shame this video didn't spread to a wider audience. Really good examples. And it's much more difficult when doing a live demo to a crowd, vice doing a scripted demo in the studio. Well done. Thanks.

    This is very cool....gonna improve the playing of anyone that uses one. Impro is the key to becoming a better guitarist IMHO....and if you can't jam with real musos, then this is the next best thing. Nice one DigiTech...always loved your style from the Hendrix and Brian May pedals onwards :) mines on order, (the shoes) as well as the pedal :)

    Great product! Have been using the Digitech Trio+ for some time. There must be a way to generate bass lines using the harmonizer technology with the Trio tech. This would certainly expand the live use of this pedal. Would be great to access auto bass lines ! I'm sure the geniuses @ Digitech could figure this out!!!

    Is there a way to set each beat for each song to do live? Like this: Number 1. Folsom Prison Blues. 2. Johnny Be Good. 3. Boot Scootin Boogie. etc. Everything preset so the audience won't have to wait for me to take time to reset each beat?

    I don't know, Brad. But, it seems to do a verse + chorus. As for covers, I don't think that it can "think" it's way to Dusty Hill's part on I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide. I think it's pretty impressive to create your own riffs and songs.

    Acoustic guitar will need a pick up installed, as the Trio Pedal needs a jack cordfor input 1/4" jack, same as one used if using an acoustic guitar amp. This pedalneeds the signal from a guitar to "read" your progression and timing to playbackbassline & drums.

  • @wadeolder7193
    @wadeolder7193 9 років тому

    Good demo. The pedal works fine if you can play it a simple basic chord pattern like this guy does. Lot of the hot lick speed players could not play a simple chord progression to save their lives. They just doodle notes. If you can lay down the song simple and clean you will have a lot of options and fun.

      Graham Mitchell It will be better as a drum machine. You wont have to play the whole song. Turn the bass off and just give it 8 bars or so and go.

  • @pleyadier
    @pleyadier 9 років тому +3

    I've got the BeatBuddy, you can have the songs in memory on the SD. I don't see anything like that on the demos of the Digitech Trio, it looks like it has to learn the song every time... If there is no possibility to keep the songs created in memory and that you must for the gig on stage teach the pedal every time, then not for me ...

    The DigiTech Trio is NOT what they try to make you believe it is. I did some lengthy research into this device for a specific job of performing as a one-man band and this device will NO do that. You have to program it on EACH & EVERY song you want to play and you cannot store more than one song at a time so it's a fun TOY but that is all it is. At home messing around or just practicing your time with the bass/drums it is perfect for that however, it is pretty much useless for anything else.
    Once I finished my research (which was quite a bit) on the DigiTech Trio, I then called my sales engineer specialist at an online music/audio company I deal with for all of my musical needs be it simply practicing at home, jamming out at some venue, in my studio recording some tracks, etc., etc., etc... and Dave (not his real name) confirmed exactly what I detailed here. It's a great way to practice timing/rhythm with a bass/drum backup but that is basically it, plain & simple. One song at a time limited memory!

    A doubt. My guitar is connected to a series of effects pedals. In which position the Digitech TRIO should be positioned so that the effects do not distort TRIO'S simulations of bass and drums? If the TRIO is the "first effects pedal" probably the result will not be good. If the TRIO is the "last of effects pedals" would be the best solution? Or this "gadget" should be used "standalone" only with a guitar + amp?

    • @jimashtube
      @jimashtube 9 років тому +1

      Carlos M I would say that it has to be a "side" channel, split off from somewhere clean and early and not sent to a guitar amp but to a full range active speaker or two or mixing board or keyboard amp or something.

    • @carlosmink
      @carlosmink 9 років тому

      jimashtube Thanks for you aswer. But... In other "UA-cam Demos" it seems clearly that the musicians ARE using effects chains while playing their guitars (and without any "distortion" to the "Trio sound"). Some appear even with a "simple pedal setup on the floor with its end connected to the Trio pedal and then to an amp" (and it doesn't seem they're splitting the signal or even using mixing boards)... I have an awfull Behringer cheap 4 channel mixer that I do not use frequently (only when my tutor comes with his guitar) because it adds awfull hisses to the signal (our actual "alternative" is a noiseless "P2 Y-cable" to plug both guitars to the same chain and amp)... Regards!

    • @jimashtube
      @jimashtube 9 років тому

      You really have to go to Digitech and read the manual.
      It works both ways.
      It has an "Amp out" and a "mixer out".
      And they work differently under different conditions.
      This dude is playing the drums and bass through his little PA. and most of the demos are playing it through PA or studio monitors.
      But you can put it through a CLEAN amp and it will sound ok.

    • @carlosmink
      @carlosmink 9 років тому

      jimashtube I've already downloaded the Digitech's manual - all "suggested connections" are related to "clean signals"... What do you think about using two sets of "Y-cables" as those at the link: www.ampridge.com/ga101.html? The first one to split the guitar clean signal between the Trio pedal and the pedals' chain. The second one to combine the exit of the Trio pedal with the final output of the pedals' chain and finally connected to the amplifier (with a "clean configuration"). Thus the input+output of the Trio pedal will remain independent of effects pedals. Would this be a home-made solution to avoid two amps (or monitors or mixers)? Regards from Brazil (and sorry for my "poor English"...)!

    • @jimashtube
      @jimashtube 9 років тому

      Carlos M That sounds like a nice compact way to get where you want to go.
      I would say that hard adapters such as this www.amazon.com/Signal-Flex-SF206-Economy-Connector/dp/B000EENDLU
      will be better and more flexible than Y cables.
      Watch out for distortion caused by impedance changes .

    i don;t know .. this is an open door to insanity.. i'm playing alone with only an app of my iphone but after 2 hours i don't feel good .. nothing better to play with a real band interacting eachother and sharing ideas and feelings . i'm not a musician but i've studied
    music.. with a real profesor and siting with other pupils sharing the classroom i also studied electronics but this machine only helps the lonely people to stay alone for a long time..
    that's my modest opinion about this invention..

    • @miyannaable
      @miyannaable 4 роки тому

      I agree with the fact that it has the potential to make a person more isolated. But it's not the pedal, it's just a matter of how it is used. It's like a metronome - if it helps with your creativity and sense of time, you can be better prepared to interact with other musicians.
