@@Azure_Wulf NEC code specifies that you should never be more than 6 ft. from a receptacle in any living area. So there should be a recept. every 12 ft. of linear wall space. Also, there must be a recept within 6ft. of the entry door. Anything over 4ft above the floor does t count as those receptacles.

I wanted to ask but don't want to intrude on Kyle's life... I wouldn't want to ask him directly out of respect. It seems a certain someone-sauce is missing...or am I wrong? I have missed a lot of his videos during pandemic time. I respect Kyle's hustle so I hope he's good in that area.

Nice setup. Definitely suits the space limitations with what you wanted to achieve. First recommendation is to grab a Belkin WIB001btBK to replace your Qi charger. I have a few of them on desks and they are really handy. Just makes it easy to see notifications or content on your phone while charging it, as opposed to it laying flat. Charges in both vertical and horizontal positions too. As for your walls, I'd just recommend some displates. That way you can mix it up when you get board with whatever you initially chose.
The reason of the high wall outlet is for a tv mount I guess. That way you can hide the tv powercable behind the tv it self👌🏻

I have that same desk! The only gripe with the desk is the metal rail underneath doesn't allow for cheap microphone/webcam booms to affix to the tabletop.

Yea I have a decent, not too over the top gaming desk. I got it because it has a space to hold a power strip and hide cords, and for the headphones hanger but I'm starting to regret the desk. Mostly the look of it is getting old and the curve in the front of it makes it so I can't use other mouse mats. This desk looks great tho

Those power strips are really weird normally you'd see them facing the other direction so that when you plug something in it blocks the ones next to it.

I have my Desktop in my office upstairs, but I have my laptop in my living room with a similar setup to yours. And I'm getting a desk to do a second in my bedroom and can move the laptop between rooms.

I just built my first pc yesterday with a Intel core i5 10400 and my gpu is a Msi amd Radeon armor 6600 and honestly I’m very happy with my results. Can’t wait to learn how to use keyboard and mouse

Got the exact same desk in my room with a similar cable management setup. I put some led strips on the bottom of the desk. Solid desk for the price
You can always add an outlet below the one on the wall. It's not hard and it will give you another outlet closer.

Love the set up. You should put a shelf above or below that outlet in the middle of the wall and plug something in. Make it useful so it doesn't feel so awkward.
I have an Autonomous ergonomic chair, which I believe Jay recommended in a video over any gaming chair. I had to get some arm rest cushions, but it's not some flashy gaming chair, and I've edited videos for 8-14 hours on it. It's great. Luckily it was surprise gift from a friend lol.

Autonomous offers decently priced ergo chairs. I've owned one for around a year now. It really helped my back etc in long gaming sessions. Arms, lumbar adjust and all that. They even offer a head or footrest attachment if interested. I opted for aftermarket casters, a decision I don't regret btw.

Why don't you recommend connecting a 4k display to the laptop? What would be the issue? As I am using the m7 4k Samsung connected to a laptop with an rtx 2070 with no issues. Am I missing something here?
There are vesa laptop mounts, it'll attach to a dual monitor stand or just slide onto ur pole u have already for ur monitor
Maybe the previous owner used to have a wall mounted TV or some other device (or the builder pre-wired for one) which is why an electrical outlet can be in the middle of a wall. It's pretty straightforward adding an additional outlet right below that one at the "normal" height if you so desire, as long as there's no fire blocks or other crap in the way.
You can even remove that existing outlet and install a blank wall plate to make it a junction box that blends in with the wall, whether you installed the additional outlet or not.

I have something similar, except I’ve taken a monitor mount and fabricated a 42 television to it lol. It’s literally just a couple strips of tin in a X pattern lined with a leather belt and a couple washers. It’s nice to come home pop the thunderbolt in and stream HBO, and when I get up I can slide the laptop in my bag and boogie on out. It’s jankie but hey it gets the job done

I have a similar solution, but I am also using a desktop. I have two monitors, one of which is a monitor I can swing out and draw on, the other is a MSI gaming monitor and I have a arm for my dell xps 9300 that routes to a thunderbolt dock.
Hey Kyle, I noticed you have the Logitech G502 light speed gaming mouse. I’ve gone through three in the last month because each one I have had terrible stuttering. It goes inactive then active again really rapidly causing the cursor to jump all over the screen. I was wondering if you were experiencing the same thing at all and if you had any ideas on how to fix it. I’ve updated all drivers and it doesn’t stutter plugged in, also, the mouse started doing it fresh out of the box. Any tips to fix?

Outlets in the middle of the wall are generally to mount tvs on the wall. Quite good to get netflix on and sleep watching anything there, mainly David Attenborough

If the bottom of the laptop stand is thin and flat, I would recommend putting it under the deskpad to fix the wobble.
Get a Thunderbolt dock and you can knock those two cables down to one. I use a Caldigit TS3 with my MBP, does 85 watts. The new TB 4 TS4 does 98.
Does the desk handle the monitor arm well enough? I am always afraid that my desk will warp and bend too much over time.
Looks like this desk is supported by a metal frame. I have a similar one, and when I was looking around Amazon and other places, 90% of these sub $200 desks are essentially the same. And to answer your question they hold up well. Though I had to find an arm with clamps that open wide enough to accommodate the width of the top and frame.

those startech docks i've had so many problems with, after bout 6 months they always seem to fail, used to use them at the office for work, recently swapped over to using dell docks isntead

0:47 They suggest leaving them in except when eating, but you can take them out during the day for a while and get same results. You may need longer duration between plates (the longer you leave out during the day, the longer you stay on the plate). So when doing voice over/ vids pop them out… 👍

the legendary mouse is still the mx518, which mine still works and kyle, you should build a custom loop in the louqe case with two top hats, really small case that weould fit the minimalist setup

I won that same laptop from Lenovo. One thing I did was I went into the bios and forced the 3080. So it doesnt switch between the igpu and the 3080. Now I pretty much only use it on a charger. But it is a baller of a laptop.
