At 7:45 you're vacuuming the dust filter. It is magnetic. You can take it off for easy cleaning. And you don't need to pull apart the whole PC every time, just pop off the front cover and clean up the filter for improved airflow and to keep the internals cleaner for longer.
PRO TIP - put that rotor for the light under the desk using 1 screw, it will not be on the table and its under the table easily accessible (as you know you are not using it that much, maybe 5 times a day). Keep it on the table only if you like it there.

The ports are on the back of the docking station because that's where they belong. To break it down more: the host connection; line out for speakers; DisplayPort; HDMI; and most of the USB connections belong on the back. This is where you should plug in things that stay plugged in all the time. The only connections on the front should be: SD card slots; headphone jack; two or three USB posts to plug in thumb drives or charge phones, watches, tablets, mice, keyboards, etc. Otherwise, you have a mess of cables all over your desk which is NOT clean and minimal. Good job on the clean minimal setup.
I am currently in the process of moving and was looking for some clean, yet practical desk setup inspirations. Yours is by far the most accessible and one of the cleanest looking ones. P.S Massive shout-out for including AU links
I have the S3221QS and an LG 32" 4k in portrait. S3221QS is a great monitor. If you get the screen flickering with the MacBook set the color profile to Rec 709, the darker blacks have stopped the flickering for me.

Super clean, those monitor arms are pretty sick. Only thing I would recommend would be mounting the PC to the desk, that's what I did for mine and it makes cable management so much easier
you can lift up the mat to store loose papers and completely forget that they're there. Or you could put the loose papers somewhere that isn't your desk
Cool setup. I'd also buy a keyboard wrist rest and mouse wrist rest, plus protective plastic under the chair to protect the floor. But most importantly: lights near the desk, so that you never work in the dark (it's bad for the eyes).
I've come up with a foam/sponge rubber desk mat that turned out to be very comfortable and fairly mouse compatible, more like moderate sensitivity. Been using it for 3 years personally and my friends, so far it's been great so I've made a whole batch of them, it's called Fusionstrike Limestone Desk Mat if anyone interested getting one (currently ship within UK but could sort out international shipment too). The rubber is made from sustainable limestone rock instead of oil/petrol which makes it more environmentally friendly than most desk mats out there. It's laminated with super stretch smooth nylon so it's easier to clean it than most cloth mats.
4:40 I think the idea is that you can rotate the rather small docks 90 degrees and plug in sideways. If it bothers you, you can even rotate it back. Big deal.
The 96 watts on the dock is when you are not using the downstream ports for charging. Once you attach some iPad Pros you will see the charging drop to 60 watts.
I got cable wraps instead of an open cage (that collects dust and is harder to clean on the long term. Also, for the under desk cable management, get a closed system - the open ones collect dust and are just a pain to clean. And if you do photo/video work, i would actually avoid a light bar in front of the screen - Im using a 4K100% SRGB calibrated panel with a matte display, and lights in front of the display are a bad idea - One very unexpected side effect of pandemic videoconferencing is that I got a key light, it's recessed about 2"behind the monitor and points down towards me and my desk - that way the light doesnt affect your actual screen. And being a key light with 2.8k to 6.5k WB, it's easily adjustable to match my room lighting at night. I swear by this lighting setup and I no longer have a desk lamp or overhead light.
So when I'm switching, I usually turn off one of the devices which disconnects the video signal. When I turn on the new device the 32 inch monitors can automatically detect the new signal and switch to the right video input. Unfortunately if I'm using both the PC and Macbook at the same time, I do have to manually toggle them.

And shared only single or two cable for charging or data transfer purpose. Is very versatile and have a nice touch on the setup.
Nice. I would personally put the third monitor on portrait, or even replace it with a larger monitor on portrait. I just like typing or reading documents on portrait, and reading web comics as well.
awesome setup! great video! you mentioned that you use all 3 screens for the windows pc and 1 for the macbook. What do you use to switch between the 2 systems for the screens?
Thanks! The 32 inch monitors switch automatically if there is no signal. I normally use one device at a time so if I turn my PC off and then plug the Macbook into the dock, the monitors will switch to the right input

Enjoy watching how you simplified or decluttered your desk. I'm going to do it pretty soon and watching your video gave me some ideas. Practical. Can't wait for your ITX built.
All I need is a screen then I am good. There is an Huberman lab episode on how to get into flow state. Essentially you need to focus your eyes on a relatively small space and don't move them around. I have implemented this a few months back, by only using a laptop and nothing else. No other screens. You have a clean and tidy efficient workspace, and good quality components and you have clearly done your research in respect of the IT-related tech that you have chosen. Yours is an enviable desk set-up. Cool video production with a very good presentation as well. Congratulations.
They're from MUJI. I couldn't find the same colour on their website, but the shelf is called Stainless Unit Shelf - Wide Large. You can customise them with different coloured frames and accessories but best to go in store to take a look if you can.
Excellent, practical build! Just sharing that there exist 'under desk CPU holders' which could easily improve the cable management issues that you mentioned @8:00
This popped up on my timeline and it became more of an installation and cleaning rather than showing the desk setup. I watched the entire vid it’s just closeup of cables and gadgets!
I am also going for a clean and minimal looking 3 monitor setup. I work in IT as a sysadmin/developer and apart of email, remote support, and meetings on one laptop. I have a separate laptop for all my admin/dev work. Going to be purchasing a rising desk hopefully soon to upgrade my setup as well as mounting 3 monitors. Going for a stacked monitor layout with 2 27in 2k screens and one 34 inch ultrawide on top for my admin/dev machine.
Stunning man, stunning... 9.5/10 for me... the 0.5 is for when you try an ultrawide monitor, but still looks stunning i love it, I cant wait to do something similar soon. Well done😎😎
Nice desk set up!... The one thing I will get rid off is the keyboard, and get a ergonomic mechanical keyboard like Kinesis, Glove 80 or Dactyl Manuform custom. or if you like flat keyboards there are mechanical that you can customize with the sound you prefer.
@@TerryX_ Thanks, I bought 2 of the same Dell monitor S3221QS and I love them. Just the right size for office work. Now I just have to organize the rest of the home office, haha. Thanks
Love this setup, man - how did you hang the pegboard on the cross-bracing? Nothing that came with the pegboard I got seemed to make it easy to do that.
Glad you liked the setup. I tried demonstrate it in a follow up video since a lot of people were asking about it. Check it out here - ua-cam.com/video/xPPTMBTvcA0/v-deo.html
@TerryX_ I've just finished building a huge shed at the top of my garden which is going to be my home office. My sit stand is going in there. I'm going to use the huge privilege I have that comes with building the base for a shed yourself. Lol.. My actuators are going to be housed within the walls, and the feet are going to be under the floor, so all yiu will see, is literally a desktop floating on the wall, which will rise up and down as if like magic.. Really can't wait. Just need more funds for the next stage.
Nice video and setup! I’m gonna be adding some things to my own setup, but I noticed that the links in the description aren’t directing me to the specific equipment your using. Would you mind checking them again?
Hello, some of the items were't available on Amazon US so I linked to similar products but I've updated the description to include links to Amazon AU which is where I bought them from. Hopefully they ship to your area!
Thanks! The shelves are from Muji. Their website isn't the best but the shelf is called Stainless Unit Shelf - Wide Large in the light grey. You can customise them with different coloured frames and accessories but best to go in store to take a look if you can.
This setup is simply amazing. I love how you managed the clean setup with a triple monitor. How did you manage to have 4 screens on the MBP? Isn't it limited to 3? Keep up the good content, I'll look forward for more 👌
Glad you like setup! I only used the Macbook with 2 monitors in this video. The third monitor was my PC. But there are docks that support displaylink that allow the Macbook to output to 3 monitors. I featured one in my latest video. Check it out if you're interested!
Like the clean look. How did you install/mount the pegboard on the shelves? Also I prefer raising the PC up above the floor to avoid dust instead of leaving on the floor.
a b roll shot of the setup would have been nice because all we could see was individual aspects of the setup a b roll shot of everything would have been good
Okay so everything was great, but you should try cleaning your PC outside. Because it's got fans it's basically a giant air filter and cleaning it inside is just redistributing the dust in your home to get sucked back into the PC. If you clean it outside for a few cycles it'll start getting less and less.
I don't know if you didn't cover it or if I missed that part, but since you have both a laptop and a tower PC and I'm assuming both of them are connected to all three monitors... How did you manage to do that? Is your docking station also a KVM switch? Anyways thanks for the video, you gave me a lot of ideas for my desk setup!
Awesome, glad it helped! The 32 inch monitors switch automatically if there is no signal. I normally use one device at a time so if I turn my PC off and then plug the Macbook into the dock, the monitors will switch to the right input.
@@TerryX_ Hello, I also have the curve Dell monitor and similar situation like yours (ie. using both PC tower and iMac). The problem is the Dell monitor only get signal from HDMI 1 even though the monitor has two HDMI ports. I tried to have the HDMI from my iMac plug into the HDMI 2 and the HDMI cable from the PC tower plugged into the HDMI 1, but only the signal from the HDMI 1 is recognized even when I turned off my PC tower. Do you have an alternative solution?
Thanks man, appreciate it. The mic I used for this video is the Shure MV7, I'll chuck a link in the description. That being said, the biggest game changer for me in terms of voiceover quality was actually moving to a room that had less echo.
Amazing desk setup that is clean, minimal and super practical. Im very curious of what type of work you do, seemed like it was something in the architectural space?
Great video. I really like your setup. Two feedback mostly from me because I want to copy some elements of what you have done as I almost have the exact hardware setup as you. 3 Monitors, Mac, PC and a laptop, etc. Because almost all of the shots are very close to the specific subject, I see the specific subject very clearly, but I didn't get a good overall picture of the setup. The only shot that helped me a lot is at 10:52, but this is only from the back. I don't recall seeing anything from the front as a wide angle view. Also it might be helpful to outline how much it cost you to do all of this. But overall, really well done. Thank you for sharing.
Hey Andrew, glad you like that setup. Really appreciate the time you took to write out that feedback and I will definitely keep it in mind for the next video! If you don't mind me asking, which elements will you be adopting?
@@TerryX_ Thank you terry for writing back. I haven’t decided yet but the cable management, putting the power strip attached to the bottom of the desk is a very neat idea. Also the dongle seems quite powerful. I have a USB based switch selector that I can use to switch different machines quickly so definitely not as clean setup as you have. I like the big pad below the keyboard. I like the machine dolly. I have a three monitor setup and I have used a monitor arm before but that one is not used anymore so I am likely not getting another one anytime soon.
Omg bro this is absolutely sick!! I love it!! & the quality of the video is top notch. I want something just like this. & where did you get the desk from? I recently just bought my own equipment for my own setup bc I want to get into content creating & I was trying to think of different ideas for my setup. I have 3 27" monitors. Dell monitors. & I want 1 of them to be vertical This is very inspiring. Smooth look. It's a grown up look if that makes sense. It gives a real business minded & professional vibe ya feel me? I love it Also where did you get the cable brace? It reminds me of something out of Terminator or Predator lol Awesome bro. You just earned yourself a new subscriber. This fire!! 💯 Oh & 1 more thing.. I went to the OMNIDESK site immediately after watching your video & I saw they have a desk on sale for like 649.00. They have it labeled as the "CLASSIC' Omnidesk. Do you think this will work for my 3 monitors? I think the compact large at 153cm would work perfectly. But what do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated my guy. Seriously. Thx in advance
Hey man, thanks for subscribing. I'm happy to hear you were able to take something away from the video. Yeah the cable spine looks sick, I have a links in the video description for the cable spine and the desk if you want to check them out. I think you could get away with a 153cm desk if you're using monitor arms but it could get a little cramped if you're using the stock monitor stands. Let me know what you decide on in the end
@TerryX_ bro I got sum terrible news man smh I tried to order the desk from the Omnidesk site last Sunday night & it wouldn't go through. I reached out to them to see what the issue was bc it wouldn't let me change the country from Singapore to the U.S. They responded & told me that they were based in Singapore & only shipped locally & to Australia & Malaysia. I was sooooo disappointed lol I just knew I had me a new desk bro smh lol so I'm on the hunt again for a desk I also ordered the Dell MSA20 arm brackets for my monitors. All my monitors are Dell & after seeing the ones you were using & how convenient they are I ordered 3 from Amazon a few days ago. But yea man I just assumed you were from the states like me lol I mean I heard the accent but it never dawned on me though. Silly me right? But yea gr8 video. Thx again for posting. Plz believe I'm gonna stay subbed to your channel for future inspiration. Awesome video bro. Awesome set-up. If I can get something even close to what you have I'll be good to go. The cut out in the back for the cables is so convenient. It's funny bc I haven't seen any desks like that here in the states which is surprising. I mean I'm sure there are sum that are similar But I was looking for something that was close to what you had. Thx again for posting, man. Keep up the gr8 work. I'll be checking back for gr8 future ideas 😎💯

Wow that's a huge project, but such a cool idea. That setup is going to look mint. Would love to see it when it's all finished!
could you make a video explaining how you use Notion as a Task / planner
You know what? I'm not against it, because I love Notion so much. Maybe one day I will. Stay tuned!
@@TerryX_ thank you .
Great job. where did you buy the shelves? Please can you put the link of the shoop?
Thanks
Thanks! The shelves are from Muji. Their website isn't the best but the shelf is called Stainless Unit Shelf - Wide Large in the light grey. You can customise them with different coloured frames and accessories but best to go in store to take a look if you can.
Suggestion: Attach your PC tower to your desk (especially on a standing desk).
Suggestion: pay attention to the video before commenting.
He said he plans to build an ITX system and mount it to the desk.
@@dommy114 didn't watch the whole thing, got bored. Same with your comment haha, cheers.
Thanks! I hooked the pegboard onto the brace of the bookshelf. I actually mounted my PC onto the desk for the next setup 😄
Nice Nice Nice setup upgrade 2023.
I love these dark desk:D
Thank you very much! 😄
There is nothing better than minimalist setups
a b roll shot of the setup would have been nice because all we could see was individual aspects of the setup a b roll shot of everything would have been good
Noted! Seems like a few others think the same thing, I'll keep this in mind for the next one
Beautiful setup.
Please, can you say, which brand is your office chair?
Thank you! The office chair is by Ergohuman, I've updated the video description with a link to the product.
Okay so everything was great, but you should try cleaning your PC outside. Because it's got fans it's basically a giant air filter and cleaning it inside is just redistributing the dust in your home to get sucked back into the PC. If you clean it outside for a few cycles it'll start getting less and less.
Noted, cheers for the advice 👍
If this is still your setup, Vivo (amazon store) has a mount to attach the cpu to the legs of the adjustable desk. Great video btw
Thanks! I'll look into it, might be worth a try in the future
Get a 2018 Mac Mini and Boot Camp it to windows it will save you money and youll have Windows Functionality and a small pc footprint
Nice setup neat and clean,
But. does Logitech Master MX 2S still supported for Macbook Pro M1 Pro?
Thanks! Yeah, the 2S works with Options+
beautiful setup how wide is your desk length and width?
Thanks! The desk is 1825mm x 760mm
$100 desk mat is wild!!!
The cutout piece on the desk is actually super practical, I might steal that :D
Please do! I'm glad my video was able to help you out!
How do you only have 1.69K subs? I thought you had a hundred thousand or more with this video quality.
Maybe one day! 😅
Thank you!
Love the vibe and the quality of the video production 👌
Awesome setup but man your B-roll and audio are top notch! what mic are you using for voiceover?
I see, once again appreciate the feedback Andrew. Really good to know what people found the most useful!
looking forward to that ITX Build for the next video
have you tried turning around the dock ?
but then the display cables would be going into the desk unfortunately 🫤
I ‘like’ the quad and nads just lying around..
this is awesome.. and truly unbelievable in a good way. greetings from NAIROBI,KE
if more screen space is more better get an LG C2 42"tv and use fancy zones. trust me
Nice and clean solutions, specially for cable management. But I couldn’t live with that smaller monitor… my OCD wouldn’t let me 😊
hopefully I can replace it with 3 of the same monitors in the future 😁
Omg bro this is absolutely sick!! I love it!! & the quality of the video is top notch. I want something just like this. & where did you get the desk from? I recently just bought my own equipment for my own setup bc I want to get into content creating
& I was trying to think of different ideas for my setup. I have 3 27" monitors. Dell monitors. & I want 1 of them to be vertical
This is very inspiring. Smooth look. It's a grown up look if that makes sense. It gives a real business minded & professional vibe ya feel me? I love it
Also where did you get the cable brace? It reminds me of something out of Terminator or Predator lol Awesome bro. You just earned yourself a new subscriber. This fire!! 💯
Oh & 1 more thing..
I was sooooo disappointed lol I just knew I had me a new desk bro smh lol so I'm on the hunt again for a desk
I also ordered the Dell MSA20 arm brackets for my monitors.
I mean I'm sure there are sum that are similar
But I was looking for something that was close to what you had. Thx again for posting, man. Keep up the gr8 work. I'll be checking back for gr8 future ideas 😎💯
Very sharp and clean brother!!! I love our setup!!! What's your job bro? Architect ? Draftman?
Nice setup! Did you have to drill nails for your pegboard?
the overkill practicality. love it.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
