Main reason I switched from the S to X is the disc drive, being able to play backwards compatible original Xbox games and 360 games for dirt cheap, extra storage and power is a bonus
It makes sense if you own old xbox games but if you've never owned an xbox before, buying 2nd hand games from gamestop starts to pile up so it's just cheaper to get game pass especially when you can do cloud gaming and essentially not download the game until u really like it
that's why I still have an xbox one s and a 4TB external HD drive. I thought back when I got the xbox series S I wanted to go full digital...but then I realized I love the disk drive for dvds and xbox 360 games, and didn't want to rebuy some one games like RDR 1 & 2 that I have on disk already...also love that both my xbox's are white haha
I myself am an PlayStation player. I have had everyone of them. But the reasons you give in your video’s is exactly the reason why i now have just bought the series S. Keep up the the good work, you give solid advice 👌🏻
I've had my series s 500g for a year now. I love it. It feels next gen to me even. I don't notice the difference in graphics. Sometimes I do wish I would of gotten the x because I would like to own physical games. Been thinking about upgrading but I may actually go with a ps5 since I did have a ps4.
As you mentioned. I’m one of those Series X owners who also owns a Series S. I use my series x for my 4ktv and my series S on a gaming monitor for 120 fps multiplayer games. Series S is a beast
I wanted a Series X but I got a Series S two years ago when they were the first console back in stock. A year later I got the Series X and the Series S is my backpack console.
I have both the X and S. Series X is set up in the gaming room and the Series S in the living room. Having an expansion card is fantastic while duo using these systems. The Series S is a beast for the value and that Xscreen makes travel amazing.
I dont get your channel you always flip flappin choices one day its the series S another its the X then the switch lite then the oled....you can't be taken seriously
I change my mind a lot. That is the nature of being a real person. I publicly display my gaming life.. If you want cookie cutter content, mine may not be it. I make mistakes, quit, change my mind, and try to balance real life. I am still trying to figure out how to be a pubic facing person. If this isn't for you, tell youtube to stop recommending my channel. I would rather be the person who changes my mind than lie to be a fake shill
I absolutely agree with everything you said in this video the series s is amazing and it's good enough for me because it really combines well with my ps5 and like you said no need to have x when have ps5 already and still play top tier games on series s it's a steal for money for sure
You've been here before if I'm not mistaken. I hope this time you don't end up selling the Series X, only to then regret it a few months later. I think you are totally justified in having both as it benefits your YT channel.
Yea but there is one thing that has changed dramatically in the past 3 months. Kid number two. I don't have the time or need for "next gen gaming" to be across multiple platforms. Time and money are two recourses that youtubers don't usually take into consideration when it comes to recommendations and those are two I value the most when it comes to value. As a parent and a husband, I want to come at it from the perspective of Fun:finance ratio. how to maximize.
No need to grab the 1TB Series S if you already had the 512GB version, would be better to just get the storage expansion. Unless perhaps if you prefer the carbon black! I run both a Series S and a Series X in different rooms and very much like them both but I have a lot of physical games going back to when I bought my original Xbox in 2004. Many of these are backwards compatible. But my digital games library is also growing, I watch the weekly sales and have gotten some great deals.
First you like the Series S, then you like the Series X and bash the Series S and now you like the Series S. I don't get you, Julien! Maybe it's almost the same with my love between the Switch OLED and Switch Lite. Sometimes I can't decided. 😅
Yea I don't dislike the series x at all. I just really have found the value in series s more and more and when Starfield released, I found that the S was totally fine for it. I am missing nothing between the two. It was the only reason I considered the x ad with teh portability of the s I find it more useful as a dad. I can bring it into my living room and play it while I am holding my 3 month old as well as let my 3 year old watch bluey. we all win
That OLED vs Lite battle has lived rent-free in my head since they both came out. I hope the Switch 2 makes them both so obsolete and undesirable that I can finally have some peace of mind.
@@Red-qv4nb The Lite has far better buttons and feels much better in the hands, is lighter (duh) and more portable, more durable with its unibody design, doesn't have as many issues with its joysticks, and it's way cheaper. I love that it can easily fit in a jacket pocket or a glove compartment, and you can safely toss it around without feeling like it'll break, making it better suited for quick sessions during work or travel. It's a proper Nintendo handheld. But, it doesn't have the other features that the OLED and regular Switch have, which makes the whole Switch lineup irritating.
Bro, I've been scratching my head on which console to get. I don't have the best, I'm a Dad of 3 and I love Xbox, so I'm going Series S carbon. Thanks for the advice✊🇿🇦
Picked up the Series S Carbon and Starfield looks and plays way better than my PC with a 3060. Im surprised how well that game was designed to be a great experience on consoles even at 30fps.
The Xbox Series S is interesting but at the price of $350 it serves on a price bracket of some sorts - in other words the original series S comes around $300 which isn't bad for the price and comes with 512gb. Though what Xbox could have done is that they should have lowered the price of the original Series S to $250 and this model to $300 that way it's not price ladder towards the digital ps5 - which is only $50 more and has power closer to a Series X. Though where it stands is that in terms of the next gen consoles it becomes an interesting price ladder where you do get a 1tb in the black series S but for $50 more a digital ps5 is available.
That would of been incredible if Microsoft did your price suggestion of 250 and 300! I love and adore the Series S and I've own just about every current console. I sold my ps5 but I still have a switch Oled, Steam Deck, PS4, iPads and several other tech......the Series S is my favorite console now as it beated out the ps3 to win me over! I like the size, convenience and power it packs all in one. It has ALL the games I like currently too! I'm in my 40s so I appreciate modern graphics and power as it's enough for me. My Favorite console is the Series S......yep and I was a Sony pony defending the ps3 in the early days 😂 I loved the ps vita too shame how Sony did that console.......
A year ago I picked up the original series. S. Fabulous bit of kit. In fact, I spent more time on that than anything else. Seven months after buying the series S, I picked up the series X mainly because more power apparently and a disc tray. As I enjoy watching DVDs. But in terms of raw gaming are use the series S. And now I’m saving up for the new series. S I just prefer it personally. Personally, as a Star Trek fan the series X just reminds me of the Borg cube really. 😂
It makes no sense to prefer the series s over the x when it comes to gaming as it is just a more powerful and capable console overall …. The only thing positive about the series s is the price and size of the console.
I have a Switch and a PS5, and I’m hoping that the Carbon Series S launches soon in Brazil so I can get one, I’m really looking forward to have a small and powerful console for Game Pass and XBox exclusives
It's not just close enough to save the money but the form factor is amazing and makes the system so versatile to bring anywhere. I am a teacher and have bought a few for my students to play during break at school. It's tiny, you can place it nearly anywhere. Awesome system.
Take the extra $150, add $50 more, and get a 144 Hz gaming monitor for the S. The extra GPU power is for 4K on the X, but if your TV has good scaling like the LG C2, then the difference will only be noticed when compared to the S side by side, and really not a big deal. What people dont know, is that when playing the Series S on a 1080p/1440p monitor, you are looking at a less pixilated image than a 4K at 55 inchs. There is a lot of misconception here, and people assume you must have the Series X, and the answer is no! I do have the Series X, but love the Series S Carbon edition more. Also, the game files for the S are smaller than that of the X for storage, and the S has 3.6 Ghz over the PS5's 3.5 Ghz... so performance at native resolution also looks crisp, (again a gaming monitor at 1080p would be perfect, even 1440p would do fine)... Oled screens tend to look great with the Series S at 4K!
I bought the series S carbon yesterday. Played some Halo CE and 3 on it so far. It loads so freaking fast compared to my old one s. So much faster. I wish the series X wasn't so expensive because it would of went nicely with my 65 inch 4k tv but how well. The series S is fantastic. If you are coming from last gen console, you will be blown away. Load times are instant.
The series X has been on sale for only $50 more than the carbon at $400. I've even heard people saying they got the series X at $350 now at places like Walmart
@@mav2553 yeah kinda wish I waited but oh well. Xbox must be trying to get rid of them for whatever is coming next. I would buy one but I don't play often enough to want 2 of them.
I own the series x , the series s both white and black and the ps5 and I always find myself going to my basic white series s on monitor don’t know love everything about it the 4k is nice and all on my tv but my s 1440 is nice
LOL. Just switched about 2 days ago from a series s white to a series x. Got a used one for 360. Don’t get me wrong the series s is a great little box but I feel like I can see a little difference with 4K and hdr turned on. That’s not to say the series s is bad at all. Especially with a 1tb drive for 350 that’s a win for a new console. Most people are probably fine with a series s to be honest. It would be nice if they offered an external optical drive.
Of course it's a huge different in resolution and power, don't let people tell you it's not. I had a Series S after playing on my One X, and wow it was awful, blurry AF like something was wrong with my TV. You get that spoiled. lol Trust me.
Most of the differences I see seem minute however it does feel like the x pops more as far as resolution colors etc. But to be honest I probably could have kept the series s and been happy a while longer. But 385 shipped for a used series x wasn’t a bad price
Currently the series S won me over and its my favorite console of all time beating out the ps3 as that was my prior favorite. The power convenience, form factor and the library of games all in one is incredible! I can play at home and take it on the go with my gaming library all inside of it and it runs flawlessly........LETS GO XBOX! 😊 A banger of a console 10 out of 10 for me......thats just me
Mate, i agreed with all you said. I never had an xbox before, never wanted one, always had the playstations. And the price size and easy access to the series s, made me wanted to have it and see what was on it and even play old games plus new games that I didn't had before. That's a win for xbox
I used to be a Playstation gamer all the way up to the 3rd. Now that many exclusive Playstation titles are coming to PC, there's no reason for me to get one. Ratchet and GOW on PC is miles above the PS5 version.
@@GURSIMRAN-PSN Apparently Sony fanboys are very ignorant to think their console competes with a real gaming PC. Your Soyny console has to checkerboard, fluctuate resolution just so it can sustain framerates between 30 - 60 fps. 🤣🤣🤣
my current setup is a Series S, Xbox 360 Slim, PS5, and a bc PS3. I do see myself eventually getting rid of the Series S and Xbox 360 for the Series X if only to consolidate my setup. But currently I love being able to play every single Xbox and PlayStation game under the sun. Gamepass is packed with nostalgic hits and I’ve gotten into running emulators on the system as well. It runs GT4 better than my PS3 actually 😂😂😂
Dude .....I baught my first OG Xbox game, ever ....well, I had it as a PS2 game back in the day. The snowboarding gem "SSX 3" and it plays GREAT on the Series X. I was transported back to the mid 2000s playing that game.
The 1TB series S is perfect for someone like me who has a large library of digital games and game pass. I have a 5TB hard drive for all the games that don't need the SSD to run. I used to have a series X, but I didn't really use it as much as I would've liked to make it worth the purchase.
I already own an X Box Series X and would like to buy another X Box Series S and wonder if I can connect the two consoles together and transfer the games from the Series X to the Series S and play there.
External SSD drive or ideally the expansion card would work - you can use them to move the games across and with an expansion card play current games directly off it without needing to copy to the internal drive
I wanted to buy the series s,but ultimately i choose the series x only to have better performance for the future release of gta 6..other than that the series s is perfect for my needs, because i mainly play backwards compatible games and the series s is more than capable for that.
I got a Series S when they first launched and you couldn't find the X in stock. Now that the X is available and even on sale for 150$ off I'm not bothering to upgrade. Despite the X being 3x more powerful on paper I just don't see that translating to 3x performance in the real world, at least for the games I play. I'm usually seeing 1 tier better resolution at the same frames. For example, 1440p 30fps vs 4k 30fps, or 900p 60 vs 1440p 60. While you can see the difference between the resolutions if youre looking for it, its not immersion breaking or even noticable after 30 seconds of playing, at least for me. So I'd recommend the Series S to anyone curious, and I wont be upgrading until a pro model or the next gen is released.
I hate how big the ps5 is...I have my series x standing vertically with the green rgb stand & it looks so dope, but im trying to figure out where i want to put my ps5 b/c its so huge...I definitely want to change the plates also
I frequently travel with my Series S. I'd love to get a Series X for the extra fidelity, but the weight and size turns me off, it would be a downgrade in this aspect. I was dying for a slim version of the X with this all-digital thing, but then they announce it at the exact same size as the old one, oh come on!
You rationale makes sense to me, as a primary Xbox gamer I game on series X. I really have wanted to try spiderman 2 recently but I can't justify paying $500 to play one game, so I bought a used PS4 slim for $120 and bought spiderman 2018 and Miles Morales and a few more PS4 exclusives I missed out on for dirt cheap used
@@rawbackmitchell a used series S is so cheap definitely one of the best bargains in gaming if you don't mind being digital, you could even get a used Xbox one X even cheaper it runs halo mcc just fine and has a disc drive
Very good review😂 I have a series X I may get a series S black carbon for traveling or for work/gaming room since I have a very small space behind my LG 1440p monitor as long as some games can run out of 120 FPS. The fact that you took it to the coffee shop😂 it's so small. I also have a PS5 slim which cannot be taken to a coffee shop. Cheers
Same setup for me. Switch, PS5, Series S, Gaming PC. No reason to get a Series X. Series S allows me to play on my TV downstairs when I don't feel like gaming on my PC or PS5.
This is just my opinion so take it how you will but the Series S is a waste of money. The X is the way to go, more space, disc drive, way more powerful. Even with the New Series S 1TB the console is still underpowered. Obviously this comes from a PC gamer who does have a Series x and PS5 and sold my Series S. I also feel these new gen consoles just in general are underpowered. 30fps Gaming is a terrible experience. Gaming should be a minimum of 60fps period. This is just my opinion. Xbox should of did what playstation did. make 2 of the same consoles, same power, one disc one discless
This video is what I like. Not what “you” should get. I’m trying to do a lot less recommendation and a lot more sharing of things that I find exciting.
Just got a used S yesterday. I have an X but I gave it to my brother and I thought I would’ve been good with an Asus Rog Ally and a PS5 but since there is going to be a price increase for PS plus I’ll be cancelling it and use the S for subscription and online play from now on.
Yeah, I’m looking at potentially buying a Series S. I’m just unsure if I really want/need it as I currently run a PS5, Steamdeck, and Switchlite setup. The only reason I’m thinking about it is because I had a Xbox One last gen (which I sold) and would like to keep access to my 50+ game digital library.
Series S is a awesome second console and Microsoft games take the most advantage of it and in some games its hard to tell the difference. Series S isn't that far behind. Im rocking the Series X as my main console and my little brother uses the Series S. I have an LG C9 65inch oled TV so it needs that Series X juice lol but if i could only afford a Series S i think i would just be as happy. I do enjoy comparing the Series X and S together so thats fun also
Julian I know you’ll get to hear a bunch of BS in the comments about the back and forth. But I think it’s brave and honest in doing so, we should be allowed to change our minds based on new information.
Okay.... stupid question here from an "old timer". I haven't done ANY gaming since the late 1990's and Nintendo 64. Back then, you had a console, a couple of controllers, and you bought game cartridges to plug into the console. I'm assuming cartridges are a thing of the past now, but how does one actually get a game onto a console? And if it's just downloading it from a site, would it not be better to just use your PC? (okay, so TWO stupid questions).
I'm sure you've figured it out by now as this reply is 3 months later, but yes, you just download the game from the storefront that is on the new console unless your console has a disc drive, then you just insert the disc and download it from the disc. And in theory, yes, you could just download a game and play on your PC. However, to get comparable performance between a PC and a console you would be spending significantly more money on a PC and you wouldn't get access to console exclusive games. Admittedly, console exclusives are becoming more and more rare though, so you wouldn't be missing too much. Some systems, like the newest Nintendo do in fact still use cartridges, but we are moving ever forward to a future with download-only game systems.
I even bout the Xbox Series S 500GB on FB used - like new in the original box for $180 - no taxes obviously. This is $350 saving for a new X Series after taxes. As a married adult the price factor is big for me. I am not a rich kid who gets a $500 console for his birthday. I am so happy I paid for it cash and done with it. No credit card bills to pay later.
Bought Series S when both PS5 and Series X were unavailable and had my money well worth it. Used to have Switch Lite and these were my favorite consoles. While I no longer have SL due to upgrading to Switch Oled, I am not getting Series X. Starfield on Series S is amazing and while I also have PS5, I and my kids usualy use Switch and Series S. I am PC centric guy who used to sell consoles back in the day and time to time used friends Xbox 360 to play games my PC wasnt capable at the time. Bought Xbox One in 2015 because I didnt want to game on PC anymore and stayed. I realy like the form factor of series s as it simply blends with my setup. If I want to play certain games sharper, simply use my PS5 but Series S is still preffered as well as Switch.
@@Isaacmmcwhat made u make the switch? Also if ur new to it, u gotta check out the Gears of War Series...That's my favorite Xbox exclusive more than any other the game...now days it's hard to find a good co-op game, but I even like playing it by myself
@@BreakHarpe I think mostly because I drifted from my friend group and had no ody to play with and so sitting in my living room with my wife is what I started to prefer. Plus it's just super easy to jump into a game right away and not have to figure out why you audio isn't working.
I have 3 series s consoles in my house. My 2 teenage sons and myself. We are all able to run 120fps and it was affordable enough for me to buy 3 consoles.
Today I bought a series s for £140 with 3 controllers and battery packs... buzzing I'm a playstation guy but the lack of availability of the ps5 for the first 18 months combined with the £400 price tag and now playstation plus price increase... nah I'm keeping my ps4 pro to play my back log and use the series s for 60 fps 1080p new releases
Thanks for this, will be purchasing early next year after a price drop!! With a PS5 already, im happy to join the XBOX family with this Carbon edition.
I’m a gamer , you’re a gamer, we’re all gamers here but to bring your series S to a coffee shop? Cmon dude lol …I love your vids by the way not trolling ..I’m planning on getting the new series S for my son !!
Sold my Series X at launch (No new Halo/Forza Horizon was a dealbreaker). I kept my PS5 waiting for more exclusives to buy the SX again, but there are not as many, and 3rd party I can easily play on PS5. So its going to be Series S solely for Starfield, FH5 and other exclusives in the future.
So what about gaming in 1080p on 40 inch tv? Im rhinking th x series would be over kill compared to the s. But my main reason for wanting a gaming console is to ppay cyberpunk 2077. I absolutely love the ray tracing reflections on pc, and would love to have ray traced lighting, but the lenovo go i have ia bot aboe to do both at 60 fps. Qhat are your thoughts? I was considering the ps5 , xbox series x bit now that ive seen the s series and the screen tou have, i like thw portability aspect. Ans then take it off for better big screen, when at home. And the game pass. I wasnt a big fan of the xbox one, and was a playstation fan boy before that up to the ps3.
I run PS5 and Series S and feel very supported gaming wise. Xbox and the games offered aren't what they used to be for me back in 2021. hte library has grown a bit stale. so PS5 is my main and xbox cleans up the rest. hope that helps
As always I can rely on you to help me make my mind up when it comes to getting a new console. have the series s but looking for something new and i cant decide between an X or ps5... then lo and behold i find out about the series S carbon.
My main problem with the Series S is that Phil Spencer made a huge blunder when he allowed Larian Studios to drop split screen multiplayer from just the Series S version of Baldur's Gate 3. Feature parity between the Series S and Series X has effectively been tossed out the window, and that could result in a lot of frustration going forward for gamers whose only console this generation is a Series S. Now that Larian has opened the door, how many other developers are going to come to Phil Spencer to ask if an especially taxing gameplay feature can be dropped from the Series S version of their game? What if they start asking for entire games to be dropped from the Series S? Another point of contention for me is price. Series S should be $50 cheaper across the board. We should be looking at $250 for the original Series S and $300 for the 1 TB Series S. As it stands, the 1 TB Series S is only $50 less than the much more powerful PS5 Digital Edition. That just doesn't cut it in my opinion. That said, I do agree that the size of the Series S is very appealing. I'm sure it's a great console to take on trips or to have on a cluttered desk. I like the look of my PS5 Digital Edition, but it's an absolute monster that needs its own dedicated space in my entertainment center and its own bag if I'm taking it somewhere.
this console is a very specific tool for me, access. that is all it is. I wouldn't main it though. That point was maybe not clear. I do agree with you, if you are someone who needs to "main" one, main the top tier.
@@jdxcoffee You were clear about that. Sorry that I made you feel like you weren't. That was just me going on a rant. I'm a longtime Xbox fan (going all the way back to when I bought the original Xbox in 2001) and I'm nervous about what's being done with Xbox for this generation.
@@InJeffable To be fair, I recall something similar happening in the Xbox 360 era where there were one or two models of that console which had very limited storage, the Arcade and/or Core models as I recall. A certain limited number of games required more storage than those consoles had but Microsoft made an exception for games to be made even though they could not be run on the affected models without some sort of storage expansion.
@@markh351 I remember the Core model. I had a problem with that one too. It came with no storage at all, meaning that you had to buy a 64 MB memory card for $40 if you just wanted to be able to save your games. It was priced at $300, but the price was effectively $340. Fortunately, they rectified that mistake with the Arcade model (which was what the Core model should have been). It came with 256 MB of storage.
@@hopperbopper I might agree with you if Microsoft hadn't promised feature parity even before the Series S and X were released. And they actually promised even more than just feature parity. They said that the only difference between Series S and X versions of games would be the rendering resolution. A lot of Series S owners bought that console secure in the knowledge that they were going to have the same experience as Series X owners at a lower resolution. That obviously hasn't turned out to be the case.
Hi bro I need you to help me I had seen an used Xbox series x for 350 and I am confused if I buy a new black carbon or a used series x I play on 1080p 120hz monitor
To be fair and honest the S is easy on the pockets however I can still lug my Series X around with no problem. It’s still smaller than my PS5. I personally can’t bring myself to getting a Series S because of my disc media not to say I don’t enjoy Ultimate Game Pass it later comes down to memory storage and power.
Everyone keeps forgetting to say how much more powerful the x is than the s. They just play some of the same games, but one is not much more powerful than the ps4 pro, if any the ps4 pro can run in 4k checkerboard rendering, the x is a better and beefed up system, the only reason they compare em is because they're both series models. They need to drop the price for the Xbox series x.
For the price the xsx is now only 400euro and a xss 1tb 350euro you would be crazy to not buy the xsx for the disk drive alone and then the 3x the tflops
Great way to setup and have this than a Series X. But I have a One X that does 4K, so no need for either. And i have a Steam Deck for portability, I play RE4 Remake, Remnant 2, Dead Space Remake, Diablo 4 etc on it. I rarely use my my Ps5 for exclusives only which is why I bought it. PS has NEVER been my go to console.
Got the same set up but cheaper monitor. Playstation 5 and Xbox series S carbon. First generation I got an Xbox and glad I did with the online store going all the way back to the original Xbox so I can buy old games from previous generations that where multi platform that I had on playstation 2 or playstation 3. I love my playstation but Xbox did the best thing that could have been done by having access to some of the games I grew up with. Now only if sony would pull the heads out the hind ends and do the same this generation would be perfect.
I would love a Series X or a PS5, but to get the performance out of those systems, I would have to have much more advanced (and expensive) 4K tv or monitor to even get the use out of it. I just don't want to put out 3k to 4k for a new PS5 and a large 4K tv with good enough specs to justify it. I've got a 1080p gaming monitor that is perfect for a Series S. Shoot I still have the old Xbox One S in the bedroom with a 42" LCD tv that works fine for all but the newest stuff.
@@DraugysVault I'm a middle aged bastard... so 4k TV or the braces for my 9yo... or what ever else the family needs. Gaming Nd such is just not that high of a priority. The series S is great for gamers that are either on a budget or casuals who don’t care about having the best graphics or fps. I personally am a more serious gamer who wants the best graphics and performance possible in my games, so it makes sense for people like me to have a series X. Microsoft made a good move with these 2 consoles, giving people more of a choice depending on their budget and gaming preferences
Ok but I’m not going to get the carbon black one I can get the og for 200-250 bucks which is what I’ll probably do. At the point I’m buying a digital Xbox for 350 I’m moving up to the digital ps5 for 50 bucks more there’s no reason not too.
the series s is a very good companion to my ps5. I got it to play backwards compatible games cause xbox has much more backwards compatible games and to play xbox exclusives like the upcoming blade game or bethesda titles. The big games will still be mainly ps5 for me but the every once in a while an exclusive title will come out that i don’t wanna miss or i wanna play a backwards compatible title like the witcher 2 which the ps5 doesn’t have. Microsoft made a very consumer friendly decision with the series s which I think needs to be supported especially considering how greedy many developers have become (cough cough rockstar).
Love the series s but it not having a disc drive makes me question if I want the series x. But all that extra money just for discs? I don’t know man, I’ve already got a ps5 so I don’t care about third party titles, mainly gamepass, Xbox exclusives and backwards compatibility.
Main reason I switched from the S to X is the disc drive, being able to play backwards compatible original Xbox games and 360 games for dirt cheap, extra storage and power is a bonus
That is a huge plusfor a lot of people
It makes sense if you own old xbox games but if you've never owned an xbox before, buying 2nd hand games from gamestop starts to pile up so it's just cheaper to get game pass especially when you can do cloud gaming and essentially not download the game until u really like it
that's why I still have an xbox one s and a 4TB external HD drive. I thought back when I got the xbox series S I wanted to go full digital...but then I realized I love the disk drive for dvds and xbox 360 games, and didn't want to rebuy some one games like RDR 1 & 2 that I have on disk already...also love that both my xbox's are white haha

You can't pass up a Xbox series S even if you own a PS5 because it's Gamepass is the best bar none and at $300, it's a steal.
Love that this man out there rocking a full-on game console/monitor at the coffee shop.
Dope.
haha. it was turning heads for sure
There are a lot more than I realized
I wanted a Series X but I got a Series S two years ago when they were the first console back in stock. A year later I got the Series X and the Series S is my backpack console.
@@Liamgeorge1 same. Whenever i travel and want to game, i pack my series s since it’s so small. Very convenient.
I have both the X and S. Series X is set up in the gaming room and the Series S in the living room. Having an expansion card is fantastic while duo using these systems. The Series S is a beast for the value and that Xscreen makes travel amazing.
Why not just buy a PC and eliminate Xbox? Can use controller also

hahah rad. glad to help
This is true
@GodhearmyprayerwiththewishingS Haha yes, I like the white also on my desk!
White one is $500 black is $550 new so yes u should get Carbon!
Why is their a debate between OLED and Lite? OLED is 10000x better
@@Red-qv4nb
The Lite has far better buttons and feels much better in the hands, is lighter (duh) and more portable, more durable with its unibody design, doesn't have as many issues with its joysticks, and it's way cheaper.
I have man hands I cannot use a switch lite. Tho I wish I could
Bro, I've been scratching my head on which console to get. I don't have the best, I'm a Dad of 3 and I love Xbox, so I'm going Series S carbon. Thanks for the advice✊🇿🇦

Totally agree
@@commanderclaude8781I know this makes 0 sense
I have a Switch and a PS5, and I’m hoping that the Carbon Series S launches soon in Brazil so I can get one, I’m really looking forward to have a small and powerful console for Game Pass and XBox exclusives
It truly is a beast
It's not just close enough to save the money but the form factor is amazing and makes the system so versatile to bring anywhere. I am a teacher and have bought a few for my students to play during break at school. It's tiny, you can place it nearly anywhere. Awesome system.
Bought a few for your students? Lol & people say teachers don't get paid enough...
This is true and I made a whole video all about this!
@@jdxcoffee Awesome will check that out as well :)

Ratchet and GOW on PC is miles above the PS5 version.

my current setup is a Series S, Xbox 360 Slim, PS5, and a bc PS3.
I do see myself eventually getting rid of the Series S and Xbox 360 for the Series X if only to consolidate my setup.

The 1TB series S is perfect for someone like me who has a large library of digital games and game pass. I have a 5TB hard drive for all the games that don't need the SSD to run. I used to have a series X, but I didn't really use it as much as I would've liked to make it worth the purchase.
I think it is a stellar system
exactly my situation!
If you main xbox I think that is a good choice

I really have wanted to try spiderman 2 recently but I can't justify paying $500 to play one game, so I bought a used PS4 slim for $120 and bought spiderman 2018 and Miles Morales and a few more PS4 exclusives I missed out on for dirt cheap used
Same here. I only want to play Halo MCC thats it. Cant justify £500. Series S is half that price and will do the job.

Okay.... stupid question here from an "old timer".
Bought my very first Xbox and it's the series X and it's awesome! I am migrating from being a PC gamer and becoming console exclusive.

I love my series s! I have a series x in the basement and series s for my living room! Great little device!
Hello I have a s and had a X they get red hot compared to ps5 I see you have both what's ur option on that and my xboxs were new
its normal
Hi bro I need you to help me I had seen an used Xbox series x for 350 and I am confused if I buy a new black carbon or a used series x I play on 1080p 120hz monitor
To be fair and honest the S is easy on the pockets however I can still lug my Series X around with no problem. It’s still smaller than my PS5. I personally can’t bring myself to getting a Series S because of my disc media not to say I don’t enjoy Ultimate Game Pass it later comes down to memory storage and power.
ordered a series X, not gon buy all my games over again ...digitally,, since we can play all xbox one games on series X
I just kept getting distracted by that “Gta Sucks” Shirt.
haha. I don't think GTA is all that great.
Hello guys dunno which to buy series s or x but im gaming on 1080p tv so dunno which to pick thanks
S for sure.
I wish i had one but im working on getting one soon
It is rad
@@jdxcoffee oh
What’s the tv/monitor called ?
LG C2
Everyone keeps forgetting to say how much more powerful the x is than the s. They just play some of the same games, but one is not much more powerful than the ps4 pro, if any the ps4 pro can run in 4k checkerboard rendering, the x is a better and beefed up system, the only reason they compare em is because they're both series models. They need to drop the price for the Xbox series x.
Finally a big fan in X box someone gets it
True Story bro 🙌🏾
For the price the xsx is now only 400euro and a xss 1tb 350euro you would be crazy to not buy the xsx for the disk drive alone and then the 3x the tflops
I had the x before but for some reason i want the S. It saves me money and i get a solid gaming experience as an average gamer.
If you get the LG OLED THE REFRESH rate is even better.
Thats what that is. Its great
This is a great video... made me a subscriber
thank you
love your videos ❤❤❤❤❤❤
thank you man
Great way to setup and have this than a Series X.
A PC and a Series S work well for me personally
its an ecosystem for sure
Got the same set up but cheaper monitor. Playstation 5 and Xbox series S carbon. First generation I got an Xbox and glad I did with the online store going all the way back to the original Xbox so I can buy old games from previous generations that where multi platform that I had on playstation 2 or playstation 3. I love my playstation but Xbox did the best thing that could have been done by having access to some of the games I grew up with. Now only if sony would pull the heads out the hind ends and do the same this generation would be perfect.
Picked one up yesterday for the same reason but I traded my series x in and got 400$ in store credit and pretty much got it for free.
How the hell did you get 75% valye store credit.
Why would you downgrade to the series S when you already had the X 💀
Ill never abandon physical media
I would love a Series X or a PS5, but to get the performance out of those systems, I would have to have much more advanced (and expensive) 4K tv or monitor to even get the use out of it. I just don't want to put out 3k to 4k for a new PS5 and a large 4K tv with good enough specs to justify it. I've got a 1080p gaming monitor that is perfect for a Series S. Shoot I still have the old Xbox One S in the bedroom with a 42" LCD tv that works fine for all but the newest stuff.
If only more people who buy these top end systems understood this
You could always just get the PS5 and save up for a TV because the PS5 and you'll get better frame rate on all your games until then
@@DraugysVault I'm a middle aged bastard... so 4k TV or the braces for my 9yo... or what ever else the family needs. Gaming Nd such is just not that high of a priority. But me and the kid have epic wwe2k23 battles on the weekends after homework is done! He loves giving me a five knuckle shuffle and a A.A.
The only reason to get S is the price. 99,99% don't use these consoles anywhere except in their homes.
They really did. It’s wild how capable it is.
Walmart is selling the series X for $349.
Hard to pass up
I Love My Xbox Series S 1 TB Carbon Black
it is rad
What about space comparison!?!??!!
I got you. Series s is much smaller hahah
its because SIZE. Yes I agree its perfect for travel and now Mac Mini M4 has come into existence
Ok but I’m not going to get the carbon black one I can get the og for 200-250 bucks which is what I’ll probably do. At the point I’m buying a digital Xbox for 350 I’m moving up to the digital ps5 for 50 bucks more there’s no reason not too.
Literally most games don’t support 4K 120fps yet so until then why get a X when you can wait and upgrade soons games start dropping at them specs.
the series s is a very good companion to my ps5.
I am very happy with my Xbox Series S and planning to buy the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite limited edition
Love the series s but it not having a disc drive makes me question if I want the series x. But all that extra money just for discs? I don’t know man, I’ve already got a ps5 so I don’t care about third party titles, mainly gamepass, Xbox exclusives and backwards compatibility.
