All this is telling me is this: Xbox over designed some of the product and found EITHER a more efficient way to run the console, or they realized the chipset didn’t need that much QA. These changes are fine
Yup. Its the normal way of all things electronic. Just take a look inside an average DVD player from back in 2001 compared to now, there is so little in the new ones you wonder how they even work any more. Same with consoles now.
A higher exhaust temperature itself tells us nothing, we'd have to see what the temperatures on the chips are. If the chips are running at the same temps then a higher exhaust temp tells me the cooler is more efficient.
Didn’t we went through this higher temp business with the Revised PS5 heatsink? Everyone defended Sony saying the newer smaller cooler with higher temps means more efficient! Ie it works better
So no one is going to defend Microsoft? Awwwww. I hate defending these billion dollar companies but fair is fair. Austin is talking about they should have went with a new smaller chipset. conveniently forgetting that we are only a few months removed from a worldwide chip shortage of any kind much less for video games. They're probably glad that they can get those. Much less trying to put in a new order at the foundry. I also recall a certain game company producing a cheaper system and then raising the price. Say what you like about the series s. Its still $275 or less.
Shrinking a XSX makes sense for Microsoft, because they use the chips in the xCloud servers. Smaller chips, less power usage for the servers. Therefore they did not need to shrink the XSS chipa, because they are not used on xCloud
I was surprised how hot the air is coming from the Series S exhaust. It runs super quiet but still it's such a tiny box running intense and demanding software.
It’s not that they can’t get that power into the size of a steam deck, but mainly about if they can supply it with enough power for it to run for a couple hours
As much as Sony ponies used to enjoy laughing at it, having the power supply outside of the console was soooo much better. Console was smaller, ran cooler and if the power supplied died, was easily replaceable. I'm sure everyone that also repairs consoles knows how many of these newer consoles just need a new PSU to get working again.
So when do we get the 'We were wrong" video Austin? A heatsink that runs hotter is not worse. Its BETTER. You were completely wrong here. This new Series S is BETTER. Not worse!
You mean the same frame rates we’ve played on for like 3 decades ? lol 30-60 has been the number forever you just think it matters cause they told you so
Yea nah, I own 5 (big family) I also own pc builds (2080ti,1080ti, rx580s) 30s fine also if ur argument is 60fps over 30fps you just made the point of my original comment 😘
"Worse". 🙄🙄" oh no it has a different cooler" ir still manages heat basically exactly the same and is prob easier and cheaper to make. Starting to dislike Austin Evans and his "it's worse" claims. Might have to unsub.
5c to perceived temp is rather large. Not to mention since consoles are subjected to effectively zero maintenance, an inferior cooling set up is not ideal.
Leave it to Microsoft to continue to undermine a generation with a garbage console. I'm sure they will have another cheap console planned to make up for their incompetence. At least Sony is pushing forward.

Are these guys trolling? They just refined the cooling system, you wont know if its better or worse down the line.😑
True, they probably wanted to creat bad news because that leads to more views.
But loosing my trust in them.
@@2greenifywelcome to UA-cam lol
I'm surprised how the cooler is smaller than what you get on a Ryzen CPU.
Love these guys content lol can’t wait for them to crack open the ps5 pro ❤️💯
given up on all the phones and consoles, just down to a led flashlight and an mp3 player, . . . and since the asteroid should hit soon, all good.
No wonder why we don't have Myth of Wukong
trolling at it's finest.
The additional usb ports is to connect a keyboard and mouse as some games use that feature.

Higher exhaust temps literally mean the cooler is MORE efficient LOL. Your completely screwed up.
they went from 7nm to 6nm, they don't need that much protection anymore, it's the same power but with the new process is less energy
With how good handheld PCs have become, I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to make a series s handheld? Hope someone does try too soon 😅

When did Linus start wearing glasses ?
Hey.....they have to make a video about something 😂
The X has been outselling the S for some time.
The Series S was never good to begin with.
SERIES X ALL THE WAY!
mine is great
tell us the bloody model numbers!?!?!?!?!
Don't think I've ever been on a video so early

Austin did the same with the PS5 revisions. Don't let your fanboyism blind you.
Did you miss 4:30?

Its not even worse!!! They got their information BACKWARDS!!! The cooler is BETTER than the original one. They completely got this 100% wrong.
@@NinjAsylum a smaller heat sink is simply worse, then a larger/more dense heatsink.
