woods that can be used for this project-
ideally, the wood should be-
not to hard (so you can carve without too much effort)
and not too soft. (so the wood does not break, and can hold details carved into it)
a lot of different woods can be carved, I can't name them all but here is a few below.
Lime, ash, sycamore, holly, birch, willow, oak(can be hard), London plane, pine, etc

Smooth presentation, the Bob Ross of carving. Showing good tips to us newbies
Wow that's a real complement thank you 🙂
I know, I know I'm watching the videos Backward. I don't know what I like yet? so I have not started on my stick. In the past I just used my Dremel and my wood Burner, and cut Patterns and Designs. In the last couple months I started wood carving with a Knife and I'm not bad I have carved about 20 Different carvings, and now I want to return to my walking sticks, so what I am trying to say is. Thank you for all your Help It has helped me more then you know.
Brilliant 🙂 I am planning on making more and more content. On how to carve so any suggestions of what content you are interested and things you would like to learn from me please let me know. I used to work as professional carver doing historical and ornamental wood carving so sky's the limit 👍 I'm now teaching more bush craft based carving / activitys as I love been outdoors in nature...
@@TheForestSchoolWay I would love to see a video, like #2 The spiral Except I would like to see how you carve the spiral that cross each other. like two snakes coming up the stick from each side.

Another great video! Please make more! Many bushcrafters do videos in there knives. The first walking staff video appeared to show quite a collection of knives. Looked like Morakniv sheaths. Would love to see a video on your collection. Those videos usually get tens of thousands of views. Depends in your tags.
So glad you liked the video just released lesson 3 thanks for your kind words 🙏
I was right! I thought they were Moras!
