FYI the Black Orc Big Boss was additional free content for owners of one of the earlier TWW games. It is not base game content despite conventional wisdom telling you that it is. I know because I got my friend into this series recently. This makes the Greenskins for new players a total pain in the a** because you have to buy one of the older games in the series still. Can you imagine playing Grimgor Ironhide without the ability to recruit black orc big bosses.
@@n1gtwhisper158 you don’t anymore. The only thing you need the previous game for now is the black orc big boss. I literally went through this 2 weeks ago. Everything is moved to tw3 except that.
@@Costin_Gaming you can play the Greenskins perfectly fine just without the ability to recruit black orc big bosses. I even had my friend start a campaign after seeing you couldn’t recruit them in skirmish. The buildings and everything remains the same…except there are no black orc big bosses and no portraits of them in the buildings menu. You are right though with every bit of content the Greenskins are awesome for new players I just wanted to bring this to someone’s attention with more influence than me. Im js this could be a mood killer for a new player that’s all
Azhag is definitely my favorite Green Boy. The Lore of Death is quickly becoming one of my favorites and having it on him makes for such a unique Greenskin experience. Plus, if you ally Vlad (which you can due to Azhag’s trait) you can further enhance that flavor by sprinkling in some undead ghoulies and beasties in your army. Plus, seeing Vlad running around with Greenskin units he’s got from you is quite a sight, too. 😅
Eltharion is surprisingly informative. You get to learn about special units and how much the change of slight stats or hybrid ability can affect combat. Which you will learn about due to needing to manually fight most battles to get a majority of your captures for supplies. That brings me to campaign mechanics. It teaches you about mechanics and this particular one is very forgiving. Add in special battle abilities like the capture ability and the mist, not to mention it is also a split start with a solid hybrid lord. It's a great campaign for me....wouldn't suggest it in multiplayer.
I really like all 4 of the original Green Skin lords. Grom is just too power creeped. Don't like that. Sure his stuff is cool, but, I don't really like the power curve DLC lords have gotten and Grom is one of the biggest offenders.
Azhag was actually the first campaign i played (Wyverns looked cool that time, now i know better). It was pretty though but as soon as i realised that only the dwarfs hate me, it was a very straight forward campaign. (Even thought they were tough enemies). Was only a bit hard to adapt to the economy of other races, AS i tried other campaigns, after that campaign, so that was the only downside. Because AS He Said: As Greenskins you never have money problems
I'll just throw this out there. Due to the way that Black Arks function both as settlements and armies, I find I spend WAY longer per turn dealing with the clunky UI when I play as Lokhir. "Idle army" click, takes you to black ark, hit hotkey to move to next army, it sends you to a settlement. Skip the next army prompt, and you skip all your armies, forcing you to manually navigate around looking for things you haven't done it. Lokhir is one of my fav campaigns going back to old Lokhir migrating to Araby campaigns in WH2, but man, Black Arks can really jam up your turn times.
Same thing with Ogre Camps. They count as armies due to their customizable garrison feature rather than as settlements. Makes finding them by cycling thru settlements impossible and makes cycling through armies more tedious!
i just wish when you played minor factions like clan angrunds and confederate "Dwarves" that you turned into "Dwarves" and get the option whether or not to adopt their colours and insignia. OR when you confederate them you get the option which insignias and colours you want for each particular army/lord. That would add a ton of flavour to campaign.
The best way to learn the game, is to play the hardest Campaigns. I mean, all making fun on CA for giving Karl Franz the "Good for beginners"-Mark. But i think its perfect for beginners. Because you getting destroyed 10x Times from vlad, before you actually learn what the fuck is going on. What did Yoda say: The greatest teacher, failure is.
Are you sure? With the empire update the availability for Mortars is T2 so you can basicly rush Vlad and destroy him within 20 turns or so. Franzes campaign used to be quite hard before the update but i feel its lika cakewalk nowerdays.
Nice video loved the in depth look at all the factions although .I think that for the empire Karl franz is definitely the toughest and frustratingly annoying campaign to play . As to why first I love the changes to his campaign to make him have his own feel but I find them pretty useless after turn 15 because by then the empire is pretty much destroyed . and you and elspeth are the only ones left .😂 not only that but because the empire is so weak now she will demand independence a which is hilarious but so annoying . basically you end up in a loop with running back and forth reviving destroyed elector counts just so you can actually use your prestige points only for them to be wiped out again two turns later while you are occupied else where then you have vlad coming in from the east with full stacks because elspeth refuses to go to war with him and then kemmler coming in from the west who has crushed marienburg and is coming with his full stacks it’s just so messy in my opinion . I think one of two things need to happen making the elector counts a bit stronger or move festus or khazrak away just a bit just to put it into perspective festus wipes out 3 electors by him self with half a stack army 😂 it’s just beyond me if you want an empire campaign def elspeth is the way to go in my opinion you get to use fun arty units from the start and strong magic sorry about the long rant but just wanted to throw my opinion out their since I just raged quite my Karl franz campaign for the 10th time just now lol 😂 but again great video 👍👍
I've done a few campaigns now but I've been beating my head against my Karl Franz campaign. I've been trying to go West like some suggest but keep getting jumped my Beastmen Greenskins from the North as soon as I do
Baltazar campaign can be not linear. Once you get the choice to return to the empire or stay in cathay, returning to the empire is fun as hell. Loose all settlements and get dropped near Altdorf. Then you have to get yourself a new base and depending on where you go, it can be quite something…
I would NOT call night goblin archers "good range units" when they start in an area around ratling guns, Akshina ambushers, or hell even just kossar spam, which the AI does.
They are good range units, but they’re not damage dealers like the ones you mentioned; you use their poisoned arrows to support your melee troops in combat. Plus, they eventually come with the Spinning Loons ability which can deal tremendous damage.
I wonder how many people actually see the defeat screen? I usually savescum when it's really going downhill and try to remedy my mistake. Can you make a poll for something like that?
I imagine very few see the defeat screen but most people probably quit long before that. I don't think I've seen it ever in Warhammer Total War and I certainly lost campaigns.
Eyes are improving, should hopefully finish treatment soon. Other issues have improved. Vitamin D Deficiency really messed me up some, thankfully I've resolved that ( still got a month to take more vitamins then should be back where I should be ).
Hm... I have 4000 h in total Warhammer and i must say i dont agree where is skarsnik who can show you how use Low Dis- unit and how use specjal ability good (skarsnik is powerfull buff boss)
Elspeth is 5000000x easier than Karl. Eliminate vlad by turn 15 and you win the game. Karl is waaaaaaaaaaaay harder and throws way too many enemies and decisions at a newer player.
Watch his recent video on races needing rework: he explains why in the Lizardmen section. The TL;DR is that Jungle terrain is the worst in the game. It comes with a severe movement penalty, even to races/factions that you’d expect to know how to move around effectively (such as the Lizardmen who are a native species!). It just drags out a campaign in Lustria in comparison to anywhere else on the map.
@@Ett.Gammalt.Bergtroll So maybe there should be rework in this area? Or maybe there should be gold mines on top of each other, like a lot of gold? But thing with lizardmen is just weird. It should be changed. Underways works fine there, right? I think Underways should be splited into terrainvariation: Dwarf can use it only in mountais, Wood Elves in woods, Lizardmen in Jungle, and Skaven everywhere...
@@kamael22 I'd say they should rework the factions tied to the Jungle instead. All Lizardmen should, naturally, be able to move just fine in there. Factions like Markus, Rakarth and Alberic as well.
