I've seen this sentiment about the Vampire Coast before and I've never once understood it. They are quite possibly one of the easiest and most powerful factions in the campaign(s), given that they are basically Vampire Counts but with Gunpowder units and more magic options while also having better heroes in general. Just like the Vampire Counts, the Coast doesn't really need Military Buildings and only ever end up getting some of them because you gotta fill the Horde Army Buildings with something. They can just Raise Dead and skip straight to late tier units within the first 15 turns (usually around turn 10), meaning they are ever only outdone by The Changling in this regard. They don't need to claim any land outside of their starting province and whatever settlements are required for their campaign victory and can easily remain one of, if not the richest faction(s) in the game while doing so. They have incredible Campaign Movement Speed, they can spread Corruption so quickly it will jump from 0 to 100 in a single turn. They can sit around with less than a full army until someone gets close to their border and just instantly recruit 4-5 armies in a turn, meaning they have extremely good income and an extreme amount of money saved up. They naturally want to be around the oceans as well, which means they hunt for treasures in said oceans. Ain't nothing like starting your campaign and having 40000 Gold in the bank before Turn 15. As an extra boon, they have "Raise Dead Again" and can flat out have half their army die in battle, only to resurrect most (if not all) of their dead units when combat ends. They basically don't have to lift a finger and still beat your ass so hard on the campaign map you wish you were playing Daniel instead. In regards to their combat ability in Manual Battles, its mostly the same. A Vampire Coast Army will kill you before you even get close to them, and even if you did get close it still wouldn't matter as you'd just get blown up by more guns and magic as the Coast cares little for "friendly fire". They have access to some of the strongest Lores with Death, Deep and Vampires. Lore of the Deep alone is enough to just ignore sieges as a concept as you bombard the enemy to death with hyper-accurate guns and artillery from a safe distance because of Spiteful Shot. Their LLs are also extremely good, with Aranessa likely being the overall worst one given her mechanics not helping her out that much in the long run. Luthor Harkon basically makes magic pointless against him, by buffing his army's Spell Resist so much that it barely does anything... That is if you are even allowed to cast a spell against him as he constantly silences people with his gunshots and melee attacks. He also has the benefit of getting basically free Raise Dead by the mid-game because of the Slann Gold, making his already good eco even better to the point where he might as well have infinite money. Count Noctilus is likely the best melee combatant of the LLs with his extreme amounts of Regen and damage as he quickly closes in on his Necrofex. He is also the one who makes the best use of the Melee Units in their roster, unlike Luthor who just does whatever he feels like at any time and does it okay, but never as good as Noctilus does melee. Gunnery Wight Heroes are basically Engineers, and offer the same utility as with the Empire and Dwarves... Except they do it better because of the Factions they are in and their overall ability and stats in combat. Vampire Fleet Captain Heroes might as well just break the game entirely as you are never needed to fight battles again unless you are attacked while in a recovering state by surprise. Their ability to establish Coves which isn't on a shared cooldown and allows you spawn another Fleet Captain means they are spreading as fast (if not faster) than Slaanesh Cults while also giving them far better benefits than Slaanesh Cults could ever dream of. Hell the Fleet Captains can use "Assault Units" on an army and basically guarantee a Decisive Victory through Auto-Resolve even with shit-stacks. The factions aren't even difficult to play in manual to begin with, so the "hard to master, but extremely powerful" argument doesn't work with them as they are primarily a gunpowder faction. As such they set up a gunline and kill whatever tries to get remotely close to them with pinpoint accuracy. On top of utilizing artillery that basically cannot miss, meaning even if it doesn't outright kill the unit(s) the army hits, those units will run in fear from the sheer amount of damage burst that ruins their Leadership.
All right, lets go over everything for the races and whatnot. Kairos has a slog he calls an early game but the second he escapes from that he's one of the most broken factions in the game. N'kari is practically another Calvary faction so I don’t care for him and Changeling and good ol custom Daemon Prince aren't on the table due to Changeling being the easiest campaign you will ever play(even easier then Ghorst who you win if you get him to Rank 12 if you save 5 skill points) and ol' Daniel is flat out underpowered and next to monsters like Boris and Archaon and Malus so have fun. Dark Elves: Rakarth or Malus for me, Onstankya is a stomp early game and Morathi is HEAVIKY encouraged to take Ulthuan. Like approximately five billion other factions like Malekith, Noctilus, N'kari, 3.5 of fhe High Elves, etc. Dwarf: first is obvious, but my second pick is Belegar. Having to work for what should be your capital is actually rewarding once you finally push everyone else out... plus, you can farm Ikit Claw's defeat trait if you ignore the standard route and head straight to Skavenblight. Empire: Yeah Gelt is the obvious choice. Markus' late game makes you want to chop your genitalia off, Volkmar is in the middle of the thunderdome, Elspeth is literally Gelt's old campaign, and Karl Franz has to deal with trying to keep the empire even remotely intact if just to get him to Archaon's capital and then suddenly there's ten 20 stacks there. Gelt has the most vareity, he prints money, he has the pick of the lot when it comes to starting, he owns Cathay and the Mountains of Mourn better than Cathay, and is overall more fun to use IMO Cathay: Yuon Bo is obviously the choice lol Greenskins: Every LL has their pros and cons, and while Grimgor is the worst one of the bunch starting in the Mountains of Mourn of all places, he is the obvious Faction Leader to want to have. So why not Elith Anar? Why isn’t it an option? Simple: It is really, REALLY annoying when the game decides I should try and get to Cathay by turn 30. Or, even better, puts my three targets in Lustria, Malus Darkblade, and Cathay! Kislev: Katarin was the most fun for me, Onstankya pisses me off and Boris, while fun to do a Chaos Wastes run with, views that stuff as Yellow. Vampire Coast: Luthor is in Lustria so automatic cudos to him, and he has the most interesting mechanics. Noctilus picks up the Sword of Khaine and wins, also an Ulthuan faction, Sartosa loses everything interesting about her once tier 1 units stop being useful. You are next to Brettonia and Belegar. That will be fast. Cylrosta is not worth talking about. Vampire Counts: I have the most fun with Ghorst, but Mannfred being smack dab in the middle of the thunderdome is fun, and Sykvania has a solid campaign. Kemmler is not worth mentioning. WoC: Archaon. I have a thing for faction leaders, and he's a one-man doomstack BEFORE he nags all of his equipment. But every other WoC faction is good as well. Wood Elves: Durthu. Hit people with big tree sword. Orion lets you break the game but yeah.
Imo the two best picks for Bretonnia are either Alberic or The Fay, but that's only if you're going for grand campaigns. I rarely do short campaigns, and when I do, it's because the faction im playing with is not my thing. Repanse will always have this issue with her water mechanic which becomes more of an issue than anything else, because of this reason, I actually think she is the worst leader Bretonia has to offer. Alberic has 4 green regions, vs. 3 for everyonne else .That's actually extremelly potent for long campaigns, but add to that the economy his bonus to ports, and it makes him the best eco and expansionist of Bretonia. Also, I suspect his campaign might actually be pretty cool as Lustria is such a cool place imo, and there are two very potent unique buildings in there. But the reason you probably want to go with The Fay anyway is because of the replenishment rate of Bretonia, which is so low, that, imo, it's near unplayable on the grand scheme of things. And the +15% replenishment faction-wide of The Fay becomes a necessity. I cannot write too much about her campaign here, but you're quite free of your movements and can expand either north, south, south-east. That's when your starting region is free of Krell, Grom, Skryre, and Beastmen. I know, you used to seat idle with her in early WH2, but I am not sure you can do that nowadays, Skryre is such a pain. Possibly don't confederate Louencoeur and keep him alive to shield your north, you can gift him one region or two. You can also go berserk and lead multiple fronts, but hum, I would advise to consolidate a good chunk of regions before attempting that. But hum, yeah, if you can deal with the low replenishment rate, the $$ of Alberic is probably the way to go.
I also find the sneaky lords more fun to play. Alith Anar, Deathmaster Snikch.. You don't have to be sneaky but if you want to play to their strengths you have to be mindful about your army's position and ambush chances etc..
Saying that Grimgor is a better campaign than Grom is crazy. If we’re just talking about the campaign, then Grom is the best hands down, it’s not even close. His cauldron mechanic is insanely overpowered
Dang man that troll Boris pick, one of the worst campaigns in the game with his awful starting spot, no campaign mechanics and already being a mediocre race. I honestly dont get people fawning over Gelt either. His campaign is great, and WAY better than it was sure, but still his whole concept is just spam mages. Sure is great if you just want to do every battle by having a few mages flying around spamming spells but that gets boring fast.
My advice for Boris campaign is hire him full stack (and maybe another lord with couple of units) at starting settlement, than abandon it and migrate to Karag Vlag (south of your starting location), it's pretty easy to obtain and it is great place to start your campaign. Once you defeat Clan Ferrik (rats at early game are not really a thread) you've got two good provinces, good defensive position and you're close to other kislevites factions. I am always doing this while playing Boris.
I started a new multiplayer campaign, playing Manfred for the first time, and my buddy is playing Noctilus. I like Vlad more as a lord but Mannfreds start is funner. He also has a reason to play into the late game thanks to the books of Nagash. 😊

I dont know if I just did Imrik wrong, but it was by far the coolest campaign I played. That's because for some reason, everyone declared war on me as Imrik. He was the biggest power creep I can remember, but it didnt' matter: it was still very challenging. It was very difficult getting out of the beginning situation, where my Imrik could only be at one place, while my kingdom was getting attacked in four places at once. That starting fire mage leveled up extremely quickly. Then when finally I conquered the southern continent, ALL THE HIGH ELVES GANGED UP ON ME. That was really annoying fighting all High Elf LLs, (and there's a lot of them!), over and over again. In the end I prevailed, but it felt like constantly living in on a wire. (this is TWW2 )
Imrik has the best campaign for the HE, even more so if you are playing with the "Merwyrms and more" mod. Also, Imrik is one of the strongest LLs in the game.
One of the best? As in most entertaining? Entirely possible as its subjective, but in terms of "the best" when talking about "easiest" or "most powerful" LL for High Elves on the Campaign then he ain't really close. Tyrion is absurdly strong both on the Campaign Map and in Battle, Alarielle is basically unmatched on the Campaign Map when compared to the other LLs and is also extremely potent in battle herself. Teclis is an instant win in any manual battle you preform as long as you have a fair amount of Tier 1 Spearmen given Teclis' absurd levels of magic. Alith Anar is both interesting (as in interesting mechanics) and arguably the strongest or second strongest High Elf on the Campaign Map after Alarielle while also having such a stupidly good manual battle setup that the AI can barely ever do anything to him or his cloaked units. Compared to that, Imrik has... Half-decent dragons, and that is with Dragons being overall kinda awful for their cost when compared to the rest of the High Elf Roster. He is also surrounded by Dwarves, Skaven and is likely to run into Undead and Ogres to some degree. Out of those, Ogres and Undead are the easiest to deal with for him by default, but Chaos Dwarves can and will inflict serious damage to his armies (especially if he dares to auto-resolve anything). He is under constant threat from all sides and has to take his time to do multiple extra "quest" battles for his unique Dragons. As for who is the strongest High Elf LL in combat..? I'd say Tyrion. Even an AI can fight a player controlled Taurox who has the Sword of Khaine and have a standing chance with an underlevelled Tyrion. Its basically a guarantee that Tyrion will reach his Healing Cap, and he hits like a truck to boot so it becomes almost mandatory to waste his time running him around the battlefield if you can. Otherwise he will just completely annihilate just about anything he faces, especially if he should take up the Sword of Khaine himself. Imrik on the other hand... Has less overall Resistances, less stats, a worse version of Tyrion's healing and less support for his units in his army. Making Imrik a okay combat lord that does little for his army when compared to most High Elves, and especially when compared to Tyrion. Tyrion certainly isn't the most interesting of the bunch though, being the "basic" one out of the High Elves.
Imrik isn't bad by any means, but Tyrion outclasses him as a fighter and LL. Large entities are just too vulnerable to missle attacks to be the "best" of most categories.
The fix for the Chaos Gods, and making room on the map... just take The Chaos Gods off the map...make a mechanic where they influence factions to the point of adopting the specific Chaos lord. players who pick a chaos gods lord will be put into a an overseer position, monitoring and maybe manipulating other races to summon the lord you picked. you could further divide all races based on their strengths and weaknesses, and then allow the chaos gods to fill in the holes with damage, tank, speed, range...
@@Costin_GamingI think it's kind of unrealistic to assume you'll always have the 200 labor to burn, especially in the early game. +2 Control is massive when every 100 labor is giving a -1 penalty. Draz is definitely the stronger lord, and has a more interesting campaign, but Chorfs *very much* care about control.
Lost me at Repanse when Fae Enchantress is right there. Starting with Grail Knights is basically the beginning of the end of that campaign. They are so busted they can single-handedly win every early fight and carry you until you can mass produce them. She’s also a powerful healer. No Bretonnia campaign is “easy” in the beginning except maybe Leonn, but Fae Enchantress is above and away the easiest from beginning to end.
I feel like I'm one of the very few people that has fun with the changling campaign, sure it's almost impossible to lose without fucking up badly but there is just something fun about jumping around the map screwing the entire world and every AI faction you come across with 0 reprocussions, I just wish he worked properly when played by the AI, add that little bit of nonsense to a campaign playthrough when not in control of them.

I don't even bother with confederation when it comes to Bretonia is a waste of research time/points ,most of the minor Bretoninans gets wiped out before turn 20 some of them before turn 10 by the time u get there they are dead .Just in my last campaign by the time i got to confederate the Fay playing as Luen Grom and Ikit killed her turn 17 and all of the minor bretonia factions

Grom turns goblins into black orcs
@@TheBarser With regen lol
You missed the part where hes talking about "best" not most powerful.
@@KnightRighteous having the cauldron also just makes groms campaign better. It gives you loads of options to help at every stage of the campaign
Before watching the video I'm going to assume it's Boris while immediately leaving the chaos waste lol
Boris would be so much better if chaos wastes were habitable
How do you get multiplayer to even work lol 😆
I played about 700 hours multiplayer. And havent had a single problem. Feels like a you issue 😂@@DeepFrostz
@@lucasburghardt7955 I wish it could work 😪 we keep getting random assortments of desyncs, it's sad multiplayer is so broken, it seems for many people aswell
@@DeepFrostz my guues is it requires a strong pc for all players. Specialy the host, if one player lose connection because overheat that often being the main problem game desyncs. With lower settings you can make it slightly better tho. But ya it really does require a strong pc.
Used to have those desync problems in Warhammer 2. But uppgraded my pc for Warhammer 3. And worked since 😁
I dont know if I just did Imrik wrong, but it was by far the coolest campaign I played.
Fighting the lizardmen is great as Luthor Harkon until you have to face gor rok. His silver shield makes him a absolute juggernaut.
gelt's wizard doom stack requires so muc micro, its fun but getting there takes a long time.
"You dont really need control as the chaos dwarves" .Really??
Yes really. You get 10 control ability in a province and chaos corruption, so Astro's control is redundant.
I'm like turn 70 first playthriugh with asta and I've never had a control problem, I haven't used the labor thing to lower control once
High Elf Batman has the best campaign in the entire game if you give him enough prep time.
Does being the easiest really make it the best?
@@NyJoanzy Exactly. Ostankya is the easiest kislev campaign but it's boring af so why would I even bother playing it.
Your reasoning is very stupid in that you confuse "easy" with "fun".
Your content is awesome! Thank you! I enjoy listening to it while playing the game
Ogres “look I’m not even gonna do this”
Zhatan the Black , corner positions and gives extra health benefits to the machine's!
A Tierlist for all legendary lords from your perspective can be interesting to watch
Good video btw
Plz full tier list
How are your game colors so vibrant. I like the way it looks.
In my opinion Malakai has the most fun campaign
I feel like I'm one of the very few people that has fun with the changling campaign, sure it's almost impossible to lose without fucking up badly but there is just something fun about jumping around the map screwing the entire world and every AI faction you come across with 0 reprocussions, I just wish he worked properly when played by the AI, add that little bit of nonsense to a campaign playthrough when not in control of them.
I guess with Gelt you could use some of those mages to speed up your research. Hmmmmmmmmmm
i personally am having a lot of fun with the Oracles pf Tzeentch campaign. why don’t bother with it?
Nice
N kari? Faction without ranged or fliyng unit... what is going N kari do if he meets Gyrocopters or Thunderbarge?
Answer: According to his lore he can go f*** himself and cry in corner.
Furies
@@Costin_Gaming Yeah Furies and marauder horseman - good luck agains barge. Problem is that Slaanesh have no variety of units - all is glass cannon designed for flanking and charging, with only chaos warriors as anvil.
Tzeench and the Changling have really fun campaigns
I wonder how much a thunderbarge would cost to seduce to your side? That was my only assumption to how to deal with it. You'd be using a lot of furies to take that balloon down.
Couldn't you just seduce the units that are the biggest obstacle?
I don't even bother with confederation when it comes to Bretonia is a waste of research time/points ,most of the minor Bretoninans gets wiped out before turn 20 some of them before turn 10 by the time u get there they are dead .Just in my last campaign by the time i got to confederate the Fay playing as Luen Grom and Ikit killed her turn 17 and all of the minor bretonia factions
Can you add time stamps to your videos?
GRIMGORE!!
Is this guy trolling hard? Like N'kari is a great lord, but the top of the chaos daemons factions? Teh f&*k? Tamurkhan reigns supreme right now almost even above the warriors of chaos now.
Ya posted too soon
