It can be frustrating when people mix up IBD and IBS so it's awesome that you're using your platform to educate! Great video, keep up the good work! :)
I have Ulcerative Colitis and I am so happy that your explained the difference between IBS and IBD. People think that IBD is when you can't have the nuts and popcorn, etc. They also think certain diets cause it. I have educated myself fairly well on my Ulcerative Colitis and only listen to my Gastro doctor because the general public has no clue. It's frustrating what an IBD patient can go through and then someone says, why don't you try to change your diet. I wish it was that easy. I am from The Boston area as well. Great Hospitals. I currently have Entyvio as an infused biologic. i had been through numerous medications since diagnosis in 2015. I have not achieved remission yet, but pray it will be soon. Your videos are very informative and I like watching.
Thank you for educating people about IBD vs IBS! I have Crohn's disease and people who do not know better think it's the same as IBS when it very much is not! Thank you for using your platform and educating people in an easy-to-digest way.
I love your video, it gives me an insight for my job I’m going to be a pediatric sub specialist medical assistant-endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology and urology
Mark Pimentel and his team at Cedars Sinai are the leading researchers in the field of IBS AFAIK. There are many very good interviews with him (and some of his co-workers like Ali Rezaie) on YT.
WHEN my 28 year old SON has sugar he gets bad intestine pain and pooping.......what's going on ...it's like 2 year wait for doctor..He has been checked for Chrons...does he need a colonoscopy
Snap . me too.. been tested for gluten free... . negative.. I've been a vegetarian for 40 + years .. if i dont get to the loo , when the excruciating pain starts... is be incontinent.. wishing your son a good health x
Loved the video! So informative! I have a question, my gastro did a colonoscopy and told me he believes I have IBS Constipation based on my syndrome because he didn’t see any inflamation but didn’t recommend something to help with constipation and it’s crazy. I have been dealing with it so much and I am frustrated. What do you recommend? Thank you
Paola S Berlingeri Unfortunately I cant give personal medical advice but in general IBS does not show any visible signs of inflammation on colonoscopy. In terms of treatment there are various FDA approved treatments you can ask your GI doc about specifically for IBS-C
Austin Chiang MD MPH Hi Dr. Austin, thank you so much for your respond. So I live in Puerto Rico and my GI just told me “look up in google... you will find a lot of info”. And so I went to another one and he wanted me to do another colonoscopy but that’s crazy. This is why I asked you. But it’s okay. If maybe you can give me some hints and how to research on this FDA approved treatments! I will really really appreciated.
Hey Doc! If you would do a show on Diverticulitis it would be great. I have it. And every once in a while I have to go into Urgent care they do a CT scan and tell me I have it. Then they give me a few drugs. But can someone else explain it better than my doctors it would be great, and you are good at this.

I'm a GI doctor from Vietnam. Love your videos so much.
Great video! Would love to hear more about functional GI diseases and current research on treatment beyond diet modifications! Thanks!
Mistrust96 thanks for the feedback!

Is FODMAP a true treatment for IBS? Is that a myth or fad?

Paola S Berlingeri IBS-C treatments on Google can give overview of treatments from various institutions or organizations
@@paolabcpn You should definitely look into SIBO. Newest research shows IBS-C can be caused by methagoneses in the small bowel.

Make a video on when you need to worry if you have a GI problem and when you shouldn’t worry! Please like this if you agree! Love your videos!
Thanks for the suggestion!
