Yeah, I barely knew what an advanced endoscopist was when I was in med school, so how would I expect anyone outside of medicine to know?! Let me know you questions below.
Hi. Awesome video Austin. I am an FY1 doctor from London UK and I'm really interested in advanced endoscopy and GE. Thanks for this great explanatory video!
Great introduction to what INTERVENTIONAL ENDOSCOPY is Dr. Chiang. I'm a medical coder and sometimes come across ERCPs and U/S endsos. There is a doctor who does G-POEMS and POEMs too. I'll be sure to share your youtube channel with two other GI coders that are also relatively new to this field as I am. Thanks again!
Very informative video, my family of 5 have acid reflux or ( GERD ). We have stomach issues as well. My husband has Crohn’s Disease, I have IBS plus had my Gallbladder removed a little over a year ago and I’m having burning stomach pain at the top , in the middle under the breast bone. My 18 yr old has horrible stomach issues that we’re looking into more, I think he has more than IBS, he constantly is having diarrhea & doesn’t want to eat hardly due to the pain. My daughter and other son have some issues but not as bad thankfully but we al have acid reflex. I hardly eat as well & my husband just struggles , but with all our health problems it’s hard to get time to go to another specialist. I’m working on getting everyone still at home to see a digestive specialist. I hate seeing my family go through this pain.
Thank you for this informative and interesting video! Although I’ve had several colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, I didn’t know what an advanced endoscopist was until this summer. My GI doc said I’d need an EUS for RUQ not responding to meds and non-invasive tests (labs and abdominal US) were normal. She doesn’t do it so she referred me to another doctor in the practice. I’m undergoing an EUS (and maybe an ERCP depending on the findings) a week from tomorrow. I’ve had this pain for 4.5 months, which has occurred more frequently with more intense pain. I’ve also lost my appetite and sometimes have nausea. I have tried to avoid an invasive procedure but want to know what’s wrong, Wish me luck! 🙏🏻🤞🏻
Hey man, first year medicine resident here. Always been interested in doing GI. I do my gi rotation soon... So excited! Thanks for this wealth of knowledge!!
Great content, thanks. Could you please elaborate on the difference between an advanced endoscopist( Gastroenterologist) and a GS with a fellowship in Advance GI/MIS; do they do the same thing, pertaining to endoscopy ?
Olisa Price Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a condition that is common and it causes pain in your abdomen and changes in bowel habits. It is chronic as well.
And as an IBS-C sufferer it is not all Giggles and Laughter- more fond 😀 of Linzess and Dexilent than ever i planned. And having had pancreatitis I knew about your sub- specialty more also than I wanted! But Thankful for all you dudes!

Incredibly interesting field! Thank you for sharing! I got 2 more years of IM but then… 🤩
I have to get one done at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. I hope they don't screw it up.
fascinating!
Wow... Very much interested now...😍
Shanley Abhishek Raju awesome! It’s a great field to consider!
Awesome video! You must have great dexterity... is that something you had to develop or have you always been handy?
thank you! i think for the most part it's a skill you learn and develop!
So someone removing large, complicated polyps or giving FMT's would be an advanced endoscopy as well?
What is ERCP ????
