I really liked Jak 2 because of it's gta style gameplay, as I had never played a GTA game before. I really liked the guns and how you can still melee, and LOVED the fact I could roam the city and steal peoples vehicles for a joy ride 😂
Great video! I love the first game so much and you touched upon all of my favorite parts and feelings. A quick tip for the final boss of the first game, you don't have to use the first person view to shoot it. You can just shoot and it will autotarget.
Thank you! I'm glad I was able to show off all the best parts :) Appreciate the tip as well! If I ever get round to playing it on the Vita then I'll be sure to use the auto target instead! 🙏
Honestly i think the whole precursor twist would have hit better for me, at least, if they had stuck with the first games style over the more gritty older style of the second and third game
For anyone who needs it The swamp rat part just seems more complicated than it is. You only have to move the camera from left to right (and back) and line up your shots . The eco always goes straight from your reticle so you can get most rats when they spawn
My favourite trilogy of all time 😍 brilliant video. Not usually a big fan of these longer type videos but this was certainly worth watching all the way through 👍
I’ll have to watch the whole vid to know for sure, BUT skipping “the rocks do not recall” line is blasphemy 😂 the whole intro is so incredible! Excited to see what this video has in store! Huge long time fan of the series
I had so much fun platinuming these three games. Jak and Daxter was my all time favourite game as a kid, played it all the time. Still remembered being shocked when I played Jak 2 for the first time, and being taken back by how different it was.
It's so great to see people still play these games and talk about them, as they are what got me into video games in the first place! I had a friend who owned all three games. I did get to play little bits and pieces of The Precursor Legacy by myself, although for the most part I would only watch and have a good time. Jak II was the first game I owned and played through by myself. It also is my personal favorite in the series, closely followed by Jak 3. If I had to say, The Precursor Legacy, as charming as it is, is the weakest in the series. Although it laid out the groundwork masterfully and the games were only improved as the series progressed. And if we're also talking about Jak X, I'd place that behind Jak II but somewhere real close to 3. It's my favorite racing game and always such a thrill to return to. By the way, it was really funny seeing you spin around as you were riding the elevator at 1:12:36 because that is what my friend would always do in The Precursor Legacy. Naturally I adopted this silly habit as well.
Just way able to finally finish this video, loved the intro! These games really do seem amazing, one day ill get around to playing them, amazing vid as always!🤝
Appreciate it brother! 🫡 The intro is a hit and miss, not sure if it's worthwhile keeping or if I should go back to how it usually is but I enjoyed trying something different! They're a great set of games for sure! If I end up trying Sly then you've got to try the Jak trilogy 🤣
I'm so glad I finally got to watch this masterpiece! Another amazing video brother, so much nostalgia being beautifully paced within a short movie! You did such a great job incorporating everything, the gameplay, narration and the hilarious cutscenes! For me, my personal favourite out of the three was Jak 2. I don't know why, I just loved the look of Dark Jak. Back then, my simple mind was blown away with how cool he looked haha. Really smashing out some terrific games on the channel man, can't wait to see what's next! 🔥💯
Thanks for checking the video out man! Sorry for such a delayed response, I've been meaning to catch up on comments for a while so I'm getting round to it now :) I loved making this video and I'm glad so many people, including yourself, have been brought back to their childhood just by watching me play these games! I think enough time has passed for me to agree with you that Jak 2 is actually pretty good! I wish I played with Dark Jak a bit more though 😅 Really appreciate you checking the video out man, thank you 💜
Great video mate. Funny as well to witness the different tastes. I only 100% Jak 3 back on ps2 but the "most difficult" defense mission you mentionned, I couldn't even remember it. The Pac-Man mini-game however, god it was such a pain in the ass, I sucked at it. Yet you seemed to like it a lot. The whole video was a blast.
This was the first game series I completed as a kid, absolutely loved it. Got hooked at daycare playing the first missions over and over again because they didn’t have a memory card. So I went out and bought my own at the time which was a a lot for a kid! I did so many chores just for a little 16mb memory card which is CRAZY looking back now. But finishing jack 3 gave me my first like gamer depression, like I beat it now there’s no other game I want to play. None the less-I enjoyed the video, it was a trip down memory lane for sure 👍🏻
Jak and Daxter series has always been my #1 since the first game as a kid. What a compelling story, characters and world. Nothing will ever top it for me
Hi. Fellow trophy hunter and Jak & Daxter fan here. First off, I wanted to say congratulations for getting the platinums to the J&D trilogy. Second, I just wanted to mention that it is very refreshing to see another trophy hunter actually play and obtain the trophies to the game the way it was intended rather than popping the platinums via Debug Mode. You have my respect for that. That and a like and subscribe. Lastly, while I respect that you didn’t like the tone shift with the franchise, I’m the opposite. I loved the tone shift and I think the franchise needed it. Good job and happy trophy hunting!
Thank you man! I really appreciate that 🙏 I wanted to show these games off to their full potential! I think most people managed to grab the trophy using debug so they would've missed out on a great story! I'm happy I experienced these games the correct way 😊 Yeah looking back on it now, Jak 2 really wasn't all that bad! It was just a big shift in gameplay from the first game and not the type of shift I was expecting. I think I'd enjoy the game if I went back to it again in the future since I know what to expect :) Thank you for checking out the video! 🤝
Jak was named after Mar the creator of New Haven… tho with the ability to go back in time and apparently another time map it’s insinuated he does it again at some point becoming the actual Mar himself. This is a nod back to what Samos said in the beginning, even the rocks do not recall because precursor tech comes from the future.
At 1:18:00 about Jak being Mar, he's named AFTER the founder of Haven City, not the being the founder himself, I mean that much should've been obvious (not meaning to sound rude in that regard) but it's almost meant to be a sign that Jak was meant to be the next leader of Haven City before Praxis outlawed all the waste landers, Damos was leader just before Praxis, but what happened then to cause him and the rest of the wastelanders to get that way I don't know but can only theorize is similar but not the same to what Jak went through at the beginning.
I thoroughly loved the gameplay jump from Jak 1 and Jak 2. It felt the game was expanding/“maturing” along with its audience. I think the model from the first game would have severely limited the sequels
That's actually a really good view! I think the jump was necessary for the story progression and looking back on it, the overall gameplay did benefit too!
As a child I loved Jak and Daxter, when I heard about the changes they made for Jak 2, I was so upset and avoided playing it for months. When I eventually did play it I ended up loving it just as much as the first.
Errol accidentaly killing himself during the race reminds me of my first playthrough, in which on the second race all other racers crashed at the same spot and died, and all I had to do was complete the course without dying. I'll never forget such a ridiculous situation. Edit: it was on the first lap too.
I just found this account and it makes me really feel happy for once. It's amazing. Thank you. Have you ever played the Tak and Loc games? Thank you for your content
Bruh... I just realized Jak is staring at Kiera's ass at 9:30 lmao Also there was a lot of foreshadowing I didn't notice as a kid. Like references to time travel from the very first cut scene, to multiple times hinting that daxter is a precursor... etc.
Jak being called Mar I think is a really good thing with the idea of time travel at the end of Jak 3, maybe he did go back and found the city, but it is most likely he is just named after Mar and a descendent. There is also a funny theory that the crying soldier in the first game is Mar which I want to believe lol
Congrats on the platinum trophies. I'm trying to platinum jak 2 but the gold times of the races are frustratingly difficult to beat. With Jak 3 I somehow missed 3 orbs but I have no idea why or where, so I still have that one to beat some day.
If you’re on the ps4, I think in Jak 3 there’s a race in the desert that just doesn’t give you the 3 orbs for beating it because of a bug or something, and sadly I don’t know if there’s a way to get fix it
As Cherries has already mentioned, the PS4 port is broken I believe. The ports are riddled with glitches and audio issues so if you ever want to play them again, definitely get the PS3 collection :)
@@Satiire yep, I was at 92% when I encountered the old stadium glitch in Jak 2 because I did the extra races before the end of the game. Keira doesnt show up at the stadium and you cant turn of the race because the city is on alert. Never heard of it before, but it was an old PS2 bug that was fixed in the platinums release, but the PS4 version uses the original release with the bug. Hours of work wasted and the only option is to start a new game. I cried that evening...
My first 'Jak and Daxter" was 'Jak X' and 'Daxter' which I played a couple years back and just thought it was cool . Watching this actually ties everything that happens in the games together quite well😂
I like the Precursor reveal because it reflects real life. Pretty much every culture (Nords, sit down) holds humanity up as descending from divinity. But then critical thinking meets science and bam! Evolution. We're basically apes. Cool. Great. That's gonna blow over well.
i bought the trilogy on ps5 a week ago and honestly the apart from the resolution being low and now hd it still holds up pretty well. i prefer to pay 20$ for the whole trilogy instead of it being remaster and repackaged at 70 bucks
Jak is just named after the founder, as he is a decendent. I have the trilogy Plats on both PS3 and PS4 [ I believe there is a Vita list as well, but I don't own a Vita and apparently the ports are bad ] and Jak X [ PS4 only ] as well, which I actually enjoyed so I don't know why it was considered a flop. Although I did like the dig at the game from Ellie in the Left Behind DLC.
6:44 It's a travesty that you didn't mention the extra orbs you get from jumping on the head of the first boss after it's defeated ;-; It's such a neat little thing put in by the devs that you'd find just by mucking about in the boss room after beating it.
My friend who loves Jak and Daxter made me do the rat shooting minigame and the fishing minigame and was mad when I did them both perfectly first try. Little did he know I already experienced that pain with the terrible Open season game for 360.
I find it hilarious in that Jak 2 scene where Daxter says "how do I drive this?" considering HE USED A HOVER ZOOMER in his own game when he was working as an exterminator. XD You haven't platinumed all the games yet, they now have a trophy list for the PSP Daxter game which got ported to modern consoles. I have the platinum for both versions. ;)
some of my most original memories on this earth include getting a ps2 for my birthday , with the ps2 came my first game i had ever owned. Jak and Daxter.

Thank you! I'm glad I was able to show off all the best parts :)
Appreciate the tip as well! If I ever get round to playing it on the Vita then I'll be sure to use the auto target instead! 🙏
Honestly i think the whole precursor twist would have hit better for me, at least, if they had stuck with the first games style over the more gritty older style of the second and third game
I liked both . I wish they would do a modern interpretation of both.
56:03 😂😂😂😂 10/10 Joke, I wish I got to experience this game as a kid, looks too fun & enjoyable, great video!
Man I love you for this, helping me relive my childhood right now, idk if I can get these games anymore, but just watching this is about enough
These games were literally my childhood. And then when they released on ps3 and ps4 I platinumed all of them twice, loved every minute of it
I havent even thought about this game for easily over a decade. Thank you for the nostalgia run man😊
For anyone who needs it
The swamp rat part just seems more complicated than it is. You only have to move the camera from left to right (and back) and line up your shots . The eco always goes straight from your reticle so you can get most rats when they spawn
My favourite trilogy of all time 😍 brilliant video. Not usually a big fan of these longer type videos but this was certainly worth watching all the way through 👍
Thank you for watching the entire video, it means a lot! It's an amazing trilogy and it seems to be a majority favourite! 👀
13:07 got me laughing 😂 Was also my favorite theme back as child ❤
I’ll have to watch the whole vid to know for sure, BUT skipping “the rocks do not recall” line is blasphemy 😂 the whole intro is so incredible!
Excited to see what this video has in store! Huge long time fan of the series
I like how the characters break the forth wall, btw great video!
My first games :’) the beginning of it all. Thank you for this trip down nostalgia avenue. ❤
I had so much fun platinuming these three games.
Jak and Daxter was my all time favourite game as a kid, played it all the time. Still remembered being shocked when I played Jak 2 for the first time, and being taken back by how different it was.
Great video. I played Jak 2 a lot when I was younger so it was cool to see someone go through and get the platinum
Amazing trilogy, I can't believe I missed this when playing all those years back! I've been tempted to go through them again recently 😅
Can’t wait to give this a watch 🙌🏼
Thank you bro! 😊
@@Satiire challenge accepted! Low key that could be a great collab video👀
Sorry for such a delayed response, I've been meaning to catch up on comments for a while so I'm getting round to it now :)
I loved making this video and I'm glad so many people, including yourself, have been brought back to their childhood just by watching me play these games!
I think enough time has passed for me to agree with you that Jak 2 is actually pretty good! I wish I played with Dark Jak a bit more though 😅
Really appreciate you checking the video out man, thank you 💜
Great video mate.
One of my favourite trilogies of all time, absolutely loved this video!! Congrats on the platinums 🥰🥰
Thank you! It's such an amazing trilogy! 👏
6:20 I was typing a comment about this very thought. 100% agree, Jak 1 is child's play but in a good way.
Amazing job! The Jak and Daxter trilogy isn’t a game I see many people play, let alone platinum! Oh the nostalgia😌
37:10 this part holy freaking crap man, as i kid ive never been so damn angry lol the water slums ambush
21:21 That´s the best friends dance.
Thank you for playing my favorite childhood game. It was great seeing everything again.
34:12 We'll meet again soon, Agagaga, Spongebob fire up the grill and get to work on those patties," said Mr Krabs.
Thanks for this video! It's really nice to revisit these games like this
Dude, when I found your channel, I thought this was content of someone with over a million subscribers! Fantastic videos, man. Definitely subscribing.
Jak and Daxter series has always been my #1 since the first game as a kid. What a compelling story, characters and world. Nothing will ever top it for me
22:26 That's the best teenager's advice.
I experienced these games as they came out and I'm glad someone is finally treating them with the respect they deserve
I really appreciate that 🙏
I wanted to show these games off to their full potential! I think most people managed to grab the trophy using debug so they would've missed out on a great story! I'm happy I experienced these games the correct way 😊
Yeah looking back on it now, Jak 2 really wasn't all that bad! It was just a big shift in gameplay from the first game and not the type of shift I was expecting. I think I'd enjoy the game if I went back to it again in the future since I know what to expect :)
Thank you for checking out the video! 🤝
Thank you for this throwback down memory lane, guess I’ll have to look for the old jak games
Go in Graphic Options, hold d pad UP and R3 at same time once to turn off invert camera.
1:26:57 IMAGINE BEING DRUCKMANN IMAGINE BEING DRUCKMANN TODAY
I have so many memories deeeeeep in my brain that got pulled back out watching the Jak2 portion. Holy hell the nostalgia is crazy
Great video. Didn’t realise how good daxter was as a character, that boy sure loves to dance
Daxter is the best character by far 🤣
I love the just casually glossing over "grab the first seal in the slums," part. God that mission hurt as a kid.
When I eventually did play it I ended up loving it just as much as the first.
well that was a wave of nostalgia I didn't know I needed, this trilogy is probably the only reason I still own a playstation.
Bruh... I just realized Jak is staring at Kiera's ass at 9:30 lmao
Also there was a lot of foreshadowing I didn't notice as a kid. Like references to time travel from the very first cut scene, to multiple times hinting that daxter is a precursor... etc.
Fantastic video for a fantastic trilogy!
My favourite franchise in all of gaming, would give anything to experience these games for the first time again
Thank you for this nostalgic trip
Jak being called Mar I think is a really good thing with the idea of time travel at the end of Jak 3, maybe he did go back and found the city, but it is most likely he is just named after Mar and a descendent. There is also a funny theory that the crying soldier in the first game is Mar which I want to believe lol
Congrats on the platinum trophies. I'm trying to platinum jak 2 but the gold times of the races are frustratingly difficult to beat. With Jak 3 I somehow missed 3 orbs but I have no idea why or where, so I still have that one to beat some day.
If you’re on the ps4, I think in Jak 3 there’s a race in the desert that just doesn’t give you the 3 orbs for beating it because of a bug or something, and sadly I don’t know if there’s a way to get fix it
@@cherries8928 that could explain a lot...next time I will try the PS3 version.
As Cherries has already mentioned, the PS4 port is broken I believe. The ports are riddled with glitches and audio issues so if you ever want to play them again, definitely get the PS3 collection :)
@@Satiire are u serious
Watching this actually ties everything that happens in the games together quite well😂
I love when tara strong randomly shows up in video games.
Nice one mate. Never played them myself
even after 20 years, the speech Samos gives at the beginning of 2 is still amazing
I like the Precursor reveal because it reflects real life. Pretty much every culture (Nords, sit down) holds humanity up as descending from divinity. But then critical thinking meets science and bam! Evolution. We're basically apes. Cool. Great. That's gonna blow over well.
Man I love this game so much
That I wish we could get a remaster
i bought the trilogy on ps5 a week ago and honestly the apart from the resolution being low and now hd it still holds up pretty well. i prefer to pay 20$ for the whole trilogy instead of it being remaster and repackaged at 70 bucks
Always loved that subtle fourth wall break in Jak 3.
Same, it was a wild ride.
6:44 It's a travesty that you didn't mention the extra orbs you get from jumping on the head of the first boss after it's defeated ;-; It's such a neat little thing put in by the devs that you'd find just by mucking about in the boss room after beating it.
Jak 2 and 3 on ps2 were my childhood man. I played them nonstop. (mostly Jak 3)
Dude these vids are phenomenal. Hope there are more to come. Thanks for the time and effort in this video. So great
Thank you 💜
There will be loads more! I should be wrapping up the next one soon :)
My friend who loves Jak and Daxter made me do the rat shooting minigame and the fishing minigame and was mad when I did them both perfectly first try.
Little did he know I already experienced that pain with the terrible Open season game for 360.
I enjoyed this video, good content!
Thank you 😊
This trilogy, KH1 and 2, ffx and chrono trigger were my childhood.
I remembered when I first played jak 2, I saw mar and thought “is that baby jak?” And by the end I felt like young me knew everything lol
I find it hilarious in that Jak 2 scene where Daxter says "how do I drive this?" considering HE USED A HOVER ZOOMER in his own game when he was working as an exterminator. XD
You haven't platinumed all the games yet, they now have a trophy list for the PSP Daxter game which got ported to modern consoles. I have the platinum for both versions. ;)
Man this brings back memories, the sly cooper collection was great as well
Another great video as always
Appreciate you bro! 🤝
This is gonna be awesome.
You know it! 🤝
@@SatiireIt was awesome.
Like early early ps2 games were so comfy. I go back to them for that reason alone. The 1st one holds a special place in my heart.
some of my most original memories on this earth include getting a ps2 for my birthday , with the ps2 came my first game i had ever owned. Jak and Daxter.
Fun fact, if you go ahead and open the blue eco vents via the plant monster in the Forbidden Jungle then you can go up to the cannon in Sentinel Beach and shoot the pelican, only after it goes to its nest though.
