The Rise and Fall of Jak and Daxter | Complete Series Retrospective

- Naughty Dog is one of the most acclaimed developers in the gaming industry. Everyone has nostalgia for the Crash Bandicoot series on PS1 and endless praise has been given to the action packed Uncharted series and emotionally gripping Last of Us games...but discussion is often not given to the Jak and Daxter series they did on PS2. This video is a compilation of my Jak and Daxter coverage from 2022 as we will examine how the series saw ND go from the days of Crash to the more recent stuff.

This trilogy was my childhood and i will protect it with my dying breath. Absolutely phenomenal series
Hell yeah me to man 🥹
me too!!! hell yeah
Honestly Jak X wasn't too bad of a spinoff either! It's kinda what came after that made it go downhill. Cough the lost frontier Cough
Idiot mindset. Don’t blindly defend something because you were a baby when you discovered it.
@@DionneDionwe don't mention that game in here
Jak 3 is GOAT-ed.
One of my favourite childhood game...i could play it for hours just driving/hoverboarding around the desert and not doing any missions.
not to mention how fun the arena type missions were in the desert plus the ruins exploring the desert was so much fun
Same here, I loved fighting the never ending enemies in the city districts and I would roleplay light or dark jak and use certain weapons only and upgrade to better ones... Was much better at roleplaying as a kid and having fun that's for sure
jak 3 was hard but tpl was just a cut above. i think it still holds up today in the platformer scene
Favorite past time was sometimes going out to the desert on foot and seeing how long I could last against the deset muaraders. Let me just say, there's nothing quite like using the zero gravity gun against a bunch of desert dune buggies.
Best game!
I think the transition from Jak being mute to being a grizzly speaker was done so perfectly, given the story. He lost his best friend for so long, he was separated from his loved ones, was imprisoned & tortured as just a teenager & was made into a living weapon by forcibly injecting tons of Dark Eco into him, & it was all because of one man. So for that to have been the first thing he said shows us how hard those 2 years really hit him, he was determined, driven into near madness by the Dark Eco only to have long-lost friend bring him back into sanity... "Shock value", whatever, well it worked lmao As a child, I was so taken aback to see that cutesy kid I liked in the 1st game become so tragic in his character, I love that part so much.
I love his first words. “I’m gonna kill Praxus!”
@@jamescboyd Same
Jak being without Daxter for 2 years who usually speaks for him makes perfect sense to why Jak speaks now. He also doesn't have to filter his rough and tumble personality through Daxters humor.
Imagine being so traumatized you unmute yourself.
I agree . They hit it great with voice acting . They did this story well in a heavy competitive market of gaming at the time
I remember reading that the reason they didn't let you skip the cutscenes in the first game is because most people at the time thought of cutscenes in video games as not important. They were worried that people would skip these cutscenes out of habit, missing out on the immersive experience they'd worked so hard to create.
I'm glad they did that honestly
I was always the type to watch cutscenes, unless I've died to a boss right after one a few too many times, or I've played the game several times.
Gives a chance to drink some water and make sure I'm sitting comfortably lol
Dude....word
.
@@YEETUSDAFEETUS ruins replayabililty.
@@birdstwin1186 you act like you have to sit and watch it get on your phone while you wait it's that simple
The thing I love most is they never did the contrived team breakup. They were only ever separated unwillingly and remained bros for life.
Sometimes I like that though, when done properly. It's the thing that makes the classic Ratchet and Clank superior to the 2016 remake imo
Ratchet and Clank get all the love, but this was my favorite back in the day/wish they'd bring back this series.
I loved both series equally
Jack and daxter is better
I'd love to see a new one fr fr
You just know they'd stuff it up somehow. Looking at the Jak 4 concepts, I'm really glad that was cancelled.
@@TopTwom I'd like to see it revived
Jak and Dexter is the definition for a company on “fun over profit”
We need more of that in 2023. Nowa days games are just cash grabs.
@@oddysay in my mind, any game without any kind of recurring revenu cannot be cash grab unless they have low content. but even then, does 20 us dollar too expensive is such a cash grab? keep in mind indie games in 2D or top down are sometime themselves 30 us... meaning full fledge 3D games should probably cost 40.
@@charlestrudel8308 good thing your opinion is meaningless
@@c.fyffe0 good thing the whole industry already has turn to MTX everywhere since most of the cash is done that way. and in the end, most of the game out there are actually financed by a minimum of players that are always abused... yeah, everything is nice here.
@@charlestrudel8308 hes talking bout in game purchases not just the price of the game itself
Fun fact: it's actually possible to get 102% completion in Jak and Daxter. The plant monster in Forbidden Jungle spawns an extra orb, so there are 101 total for the area, and 2001 for the entire game.
Cool
Are you talking about the multiple orbs that spawn when you jump on it?
Wonder if that's an intentional thing. Game came out in 2001 after all!
Nothing like a three hour video on the Jak and Daxter series to really get your day started.
Or to unwind to 😌
ikr. i love youtube.
and js reviews
I need another 3 hours still after this 3 hour video to get my day started
"Yeah boss, I'm gonna need to take a half-day. See you this afternoon" 😆
It’s making my night at 3:00 am got my whiskey and bud light tucked
I've really got to praise how they hyped up the Peacemaker. When I was a kid playing this with friends we were always awestruck by the scenes of Sig using it. So when we got our own, we went apeshit, it was awesome.
Omg I know that feeling, sig was a badass.
For the Jak's uncle thing it could easily be that he's an adopted uncle type thing. Keira is clearly not Samos' biological daughter for example
I’m pretty sure she is though
I think he could actually be a biological family member, just one from far down his tree.
@@johnweber80 but Jak is from the future that makes no sense
How does the old man being one of Jak's ancestors not make sense? After all he does have some resemblance to Jak.
@@johnweber80 haha. tree
I’ve beaten Jak and Daxter and Jak II at least hundreds of times at this point. Never get tired of every play through. That goes to show how much of my childhood was blessed by this trilogy.
And it gets even better now that there’s OpenGOAL
Agreed
Me too...I literally know the games like my house. Even the glitches ( that I don't use because I like to complete the games without breaking the game)
Whats OpenGOAL?
@@mattmarshall1442 It is an effort to port the code of the original Jak games to PC. GOAL was the name of the programing language used in said games, and so far it has managed to make Jak 1 fullly playable on PC without any emulation, and Jak 2 in the process of achieving the same.
@@Peachblink Also the ability for people to mod the games as well. For example the Randomizer mod, there's even a co-op mod being made I think. OpenGOAL is great
I love how OP you are in Jak 3. Sometimes you just want a game where you feel like an unstoppable monster.
I mean, after everything he has been through, that's a natural consequence. If heroes didn't get wiped, every single one would be that powerful.
I'm mixed on Jak 3.
I love a ton of the gameplay, but the music is a downgrade in comparison to 2, and some of the story just doesn't make sense to me.
For example, I love the precursor twist, but it makes the egg in 2 really confusing.
@@yourcollegedebt8384 Maybe it was just a hologram. I dont think Kor would know about the true identity of the precursors.
jak3 was easy enough for me to complete if i tried i could finish jak 2 but the difficulty spikes killed it for me also, you could use infinite light eco to fly to ridiculous places.
I always enjoyed 3, gameplay wise St the very least. Light and dark modes were v fun, but always preferred light.
Jak and Daxter is a really special series, and this video does a really great job at explaining why that is. Love your work J
Holy shit is that based Jak and Daxter youtuber Powercell Zeke here to explain to us why we should NEVER play Jak on the vita.
@@urmum9898 lmao, what do you mean? I love playing Jak 3 at 1 fps with no music 🥲
i try so god i Can plus i love 90s
i love games of a Old time But i have not ps2 i Will try find Jack and Daxter to ps4
This is my #1 game and it was my first Ps2 game ever. It is what got me into gaming. I even named my son Jack primarily because of this series.
As a young brazilian growing up in south america without any acess to english classes when i was younger those games were everything for me, being able to play with portuguese subtitles really helped me and everyone i knew to be able to play and understand the game, i loved the story (i was 10-8 at the time) but it was the first game i was able to play and understand everything that was going on in the story. Those 3 games were really special for me, thanks for the video and i hope people finally give these games the love they deserve.
Played the jak trilogy recently because of these vids. End up being one of the best gaming decisions I've made. Now I'm doing the goated trilogy and having fun with it.
The first game for my PS2. The game that truly cemented my love for video games and what they are capable. Especially in a 3D space. Music, atmosphere, story....wonderful.
Same here.. still remember my dad taking us to costco during those days and seeing the Jak and Daxter ps2 bundle
Honestly, in the first game... Daxter is the main character, not Jak, Jak is his steed. He is the one who actually goes through a heroe's journey throughout the entire game and at the end, makes a heroic sacrifice to save the world.
Plus Daxter and is the one who talks for Jak. I always felt some kind of way why he didn’t speak and Daxter does
But it requires jaks inate ability to channel eco to ultimately end the threat in the first game
@@demnbrown So he's also a magic wand. But this is Daxter's story.
Oh my gosh. It just clicked. Daxter was Don Quixote.
Calling Jak Daxter's steed made me cackle and then die.
I finished Jak trilogy for like 8 over more than 10 years ago, but I've never actually noticed you can do that jump-spin-shoot combo and now I feel like I want to play it again to try. even back then as an early teenager, I found it's difficulty being top-notch. Some places worse than others, but you always have enough options to get through them.
Jak III is still one of the greatest titles I've ever played. Jak being an outcast with even his apparel turning into a basically war-torn armor while still keeping it's Jak 1 and 2 basics was amazing and I feel like it is the one of the few trilogies that each sequel gotten better, not worse.
You are a legend for beating jak 2 without the spin shot
Jack and Daxter was the first game that was mine. It wasn't borrowed from a friend or a hand me down, I saved my money and bought it as a little kid and I loved it. I got every collectible and the secret ending and went on to love the whole series, except Jack X. Naughty Dog is still my favorite developer to this day.
I hear ya Naughty Dog is a great dev. Crash bandicoot, Jak n daxter, Uncharted then Last of US. I just want them go back to fun platformers and not super serious Drama games rated M.
@@jaysilva5854 I don't mind the more grittier stuff, I just don't want them to rest on their laurels and only do Last of Us and Uncharted. I would love to see a new IP from them. I'll always be happy with more Uncharted and Last of Us but they are too damn good to not try something else.
This is a wholesome story lol love it
Last of us part 2...💔
@@jesusalonso2179
It's not nearly as bad as the haters initially led us to believe
Daxter is my personal favorite video game companion/sidekick. If it weren't for his commentary/jokes in the 1st game I probably wouldn't have enjoyed playing it since Jak didn't talk. His spin off game actually shows that he is capable of being a hero in his own right & a comic relief character can have dramatic moments. In the 2nd game we actually got to see his and Jak's relationship develop & we actually see why they are such good friends/heroic duo. The 3rd game brought their friendship to the test when Daxter stood by Jak when no one else would & he got his happy ending getting his glory, girl, & pants. Oh, & let's just all agree that the last 2 games aren't relevant to their story.
Max Casella should do more voice work in General. He's hilarious as Timon in the Original Broadway recording of The Lion King Stage Musical.
I mean jak X wasnt a bad story or game frontier was a disaster.
Loved daxter lol , did u ever play gex the gecko ?
The Jak 2 and Jak 3 games led to the Uncharted and Last Of Us storytelling and gripping storylines we have come to love
I honestly still enjoy the storytelling of Jak more that their never frsnchises
I'd say it's just a goal Naughty Dog had since the beginning and it shows they've only improved every time.
Fun fact about Halo Combat Evolved, at the time of it’s release The Silent Cartographer was the largest scale battle that had ever been produced for a video game
I loved the futuristic second of the second one and the sort of "free roam vibe" before I ever played any GTA games! I don't remember these looking so "jaggedy / pixelated"! As a kid these graphics blew my mind!
Part of the jagged/pixely thing is that the original PS2 versions of the games were designed graphically to take advantage of CRT blurring, which helps to hide and soften some of those hard edges you're seeing. Emulators tend to have a second postprocessing layer to antialias the resulting graphics before sending them to the screen, and the HD Remakes just have more polygons to play with, which is why neither of those versions will show the same issue. You can see something similar if you were to run an old 8-bit Mario on modern screens, the pixels look a lot more jagged because the crisper pixel depth of the modern progressive-scan HD screens works against them compared to the fuzzy lines of an interlaced CRT screen.
@@5bars3g36 this is very evident when you go from the composite RCA cables to s video, everything gets way too jagged because of newfound clarity
Jak and Dexter series needs to come back with a sequel or at least with a remake of the trilogy.
A sequel would be much more appreciated. So fkn tired of remakes and remasters
I would like a remake or rebote but I don't know because they could change some stuff but me personality I would prefer a remaster
@Un Shakl3d if you’re referring to the ending as a remake you’re talking about a reboot. A remake actually would be great
@Un Shakl3d Both Jak 3's and X endings were pretty open there is room for more, we know almost nothing about Jak's world.
Plz
Full stop, Jak & Daxter series is one of my all-time favorites. That said, what you said with its main games trying to appeal to multiple audiences ringed true to me. Specifically Jak 3.
Jak 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. The story, the world, the action, the armor, and the boss battles. Plus the comedy is soooo good!
Ah the Golden Age of ND.
Jak 2 was next level. Way ahead of the curve
The Jak having an uncle even though he's from the future so that can't be his uncle is easily explained even with the time travel shenanigans imho. Samus and Jak arrive, join the village, some story about Jak being an orphan and in the village there's a guy that really connects with Jak and becomes a fatherlike figure and is referred to as uncle fromt hat point forward.
It also ties in to some things I'd really wish were told at some point, simply what happened to the villagers and all the NPC's of Jak one. I'm really curious if the miners ever got their diamond for example 😁 .
I was so freaking confused when you said "Samus and Jak arrive" before realizing you're talking about Samos.
Metroid and Jak crossover, that's definitely something for the ages.
@@saltystick_99 I would be confused aswel if I read that ^^, but yes indeed I meant Samos.
Unfortunately more than likely all the villagers probably die to Metal Heads.
@@Priceluked I actually think about that every time I play the first game...
Now that you mention it, that's actually really sad, we never got to see what happened to the villagers or even the bad ass designed sages, I mean really that is one hell of an oversight on Naughty Dog's part.
That first game still holds up really well! The art and animation are great.
The Jak and Daxter trilogy are 3 of the dozen or so games I've gone out of my way to 100%. Jak 3 was so much fun on hero mode with infinite ammo and dark and light powers.
But that lurker shark sound effect still triggers that fight or flight in me. My god, the first time I had that happen, it terrified me
I've actually been replaying this series recently since I got the collection on sale for twenty bucks. It holds up beautifully. It's weird that muscle memory from decades ago can be so strong.
Wait, that's why I had so many issues with the PS4 port?! I thought Precursor Legacy was feeling a bit clunkier than I remembered...
1:23:35 This mission was the pinnacle of my childhood. I'd always replay it trying to get the coolest, and furthest knockback I could. So much fun with the slowmo and camera angle as a kid
Thank you for this video. This game trilogy was my entire childhood. I've never met anyone else in person who played. You dissecting this series warms my heart.
Jak 1 was honestly the most innovative game for its time. attempting to break barriers and technological "magic" :D
Even just their animation setup was honestly a miracle.
I agree they innovated less with the following titles, but they still added new things, and used previous features well. So I dont believe its fair to say 2&3 were worse, just not as good as they could've been with more time
Many people say jak 2 is difficult because of combat but in my opinion is because of driving
The driving missions, specially with time limits were always the hardest parts for me in the game
Jak And Daxter are SO DAMN GOOD I loved 3 and Jak X. Each year we dont get more I suffer in great pain.
I have hope that Jak and Daxter could return. Only because Rachet and Clank got a new ps5 game. And if they get one. Hopefully Jak does too. Same with Sly Cooper.
You realize Insomniac carries that franchise right? Without them RaC is nothing in more ways than one; proven by the utter failures when any other studio touches it (i.e the subpar movie/pilot and high impact in general). The same also applies for Jak and Sly.
Sly Cooper and Jak were my childhood games. I want more daily
I would love a return of Jak and daxter however they have to explore other worlds, I don't see anything being able to threaten them otherwise 🤔 plus I kinda need an explanation as to how Jak built haven city
The series of Jak and daxter needs to remain the legend it is, if anything just needs a graphical update! They are legends in their own rights, and should not be desecrated like so many other games as of late! Watching this gave me so much nostalgia and I love it! Such an amazing game, and an amazing video!
Jak 3 did have some off beat story telling, but it’s still my favorite because of all the mini games. I enjoyed the constant barrage that the developers thought would be challenging and annoying for the common player, it was not.
Jak and Dexter was one of the first games I ever played. I didn’t even play it all the way through. My dad had just gotten a PS2 when they first came out and it came with a demo disc with a small part of the first game. I would replay that level over and over and over again. It was such a good time
The Jak and Daxter series was one of my favorites from when I was a kid!!!
I grew up playing the first game, had a ton of fun with it. Honestly hadn’t thought of this series in years, so it’s great to see a whole video about it. Thanks man.
One "upgrade" I loved in jak 2 was how the music turned a bit metal when you hold a gun. Literally changes on the spot
Jak1 had a day and night cycle… i was amazed with it as a kid… stand with jak and daxter on a cliff with a sunset and wind blowing… great memories.
The title should be the rise and the rise because jak never fell nowhere. Jak 3 matrix-esque final is still one of my favorite moments in videogame history
What a great way to start your channel this year.
I love videos about my favourite childhood heroes and honestly thank you for taking the time to put together such a good essay on a three hours long video. I enjoy watching these while chiling at the afternoon and drinking coffee after a long day of work!
Man, I’m such a big fan of your videos. I could listen to you talk for hours. Thank you for having such great audio recordings also! Properly recorded. Not a bunch of distracting room noise. Also, Too many channels try to do the “funny guy” things and it’s so cringy. You’re just yourself and it’s awesome.
That's so funny, I just played through Jak and Daxter and am playing Jak 2 right now. Forgot how much driving around you gotta do in Jak 2.
this is my absolute favorite video game series and i feel like i never hear about it anymore, so this is a huge treat ❤
Oh God, finally a UA-camr just starts a video without a boring ass five minute intro that no one gives a fuck about.
You're a hero.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. I've been playing this game ever since I was able to read and write and it has such a special place in my heart. I 1000% loved all 3 of the games and I wish there was another that continued from 3.
Great series. So much to love about it. From the way Jak and Daxter interact with each other to the gameplay, story and tight platforming. Each game is fun to play in their own way and have different identities that are great representations into how the gaming industry went about developing; at that time.
It's a shame that the series ended the way it did (despite highlights like Jak X and it's story and gameplay) and I can only hope for some new IP that brings back some of the best aspects of a game like Jak, but with something unique to set itself apart.
*FOR JAY* : I have a request. I know you really enjoy comics and series such as the Justice League, which is why I want you to take a look at *The Punisher* *2005* video game. It's an insanely good incredibly underrated game with some great gameplay and an amazing story. The likes of which are ahead of it's time in terms of "gritty Superhero re-boots."
Just some food for thought
the punisher game was SO fucking amazing fun violent but it still makes you feel like the good guy despite the wood chipper or any of those visceral kills lol
Omg! For so long I thought I was the only one who felt this series died too soon. It honestly needs a nice soft reboot and a good marketing strategy.
I love the jak/daxter series . Especially Jak 2 . The dark mode switch was a genius pivot from naughty dog who honestly never misses . Truly a founding father of 3d gaming & thank you for this history lesson of one the best developers of all time . Well done
It's about time the Jax & Dax series get the attention it deserves. It was one of my favorite games to play on the Playstations.
Awesome video. Jak II was and always will be one of my favorite games of all time. I played the hell out of my copy.
I’m subscribing for you making this video, I wish more attention was brought to this gem of a series with such good lore.
This video has easily made you one of my favorite UA-camrs of all time, very excited too watch your other content!
I remember my dad and I got the first game from a Hollywood Video and we played it all night. I'd never seen a game like this at the time, I was amazed. My dad still talks about this series from time to time. Good memories :)
Happy New Year J! Thanks for the awesome content!
Amazing video as always, you truly have huge potential on this platform, keep it up dude.
i Will keep it op so i Can
Man, this was such a good video. I'm glad I clicked on it definitely got a new subscriber. I love how you're bringing back nostalgia in a positive way, but constructive as it should be a true retrospective.
I can't wait to check out your other videos. Thanks for doing what you do.
Gonna watch this when I get a chance but I know it’s gonna be gold. I really enjoyed your deep analysis of the series in previous videos. This franchise means a lot to me and having someone convey the same passion for it like I would growing up and till now is simply amazing! Keep up the great work man!
If you liked his previous videos on the series, I've got a hunch you'll like this one too.
How on gods green earth is this not atleast a 1Mil sub channel? the time care and effort in these videos is clear as day, i cant even imagine the time and effort that goes into these videos, you deserve tons more subs imo...
Jak and Daxter are the best games from Naughty Dog.
Crash Bandicoot gets my vote
Jack 3 is still today maybe my favorite game ever played. It’s so complete, it has so much weapons, vehicles, scenery, and gameplay variety that it’s revolutionary even today
Thank you for the video. Jak and Daxter is one of my favorite games. Wonderful work. 😊
Finally, another Jak II enjoyer.
Dang, 300k views. This goes to show how much love and care the Jak and Daxter series is still getting despite the 13+ year hiatus it’s been getting.
And 1 Million more now. We want Jak and Daxter 4!!!
My parents were weird about video games when I was a kid so I missed the entire PS1/PS2/PS3 era. But hearing Mr Krabs say people will be shot just took me tf out😂😂😂
I had no Idea the guns correlated with the eco types. So cool to learn that after all these years. Thanks J!
The precursor legacy was one of my first ever video games. The nostalgia from your footage is real.
I would have probably gotten into Jak & Daxter cuz we did have the first game when I was a kid......only problem is the Lurker Sharks scared me so much as a kid that I never wanted to touch the game again to avoid the terror those things gave me. Heck they're the reason that to this day I really don't like being in water in video games because my overactive imagination keeps bothering my brain with things like the Cheep Cheep from Tiny Huge Island in Mario 64, Snacker the Shark and the big Piranhas from Banjo-Kazooie, and the Lurker Sharks from Jak & Daxter and it just makes me too nervous to really play properly.
So I'm not the Only one that as a kid used to get scared out of nothing, I Remember in 2015 I tried to play the Jak and daxter game for psp, and One cutscene scared me, or a character, I don't remember
The lurker sharks scared the heck outta me too and it's probably why I have a mild fear of deep water xD
Dude fucking same😂
Cannot agree more, the Lurker Sharks and Space Lurker Sharkers (in Ratchet and Clank), still has me terrified of video game water.
Clancy Brown voicing Praxis at 1:07:46 just screams Mr. Krabs. I cant unhear it now that I know it’s the same voice actor. Kudos to Clancy!!
Awesome video, I love this game franchise and I'm glad people have been talking about it a lot recently
Dude... Being completely OP in Jak 3's combat was the best part. Absolutely chaos for the sheer fun of it. Ahhh *chefs kiss* ... So satisfying.
funny how games made in the PS2 days actually had actual working weapons that had impact and makes the enemies react differently for each one when they get all while we still got games that just recently came out where enemies just shrugs off or just completely ignore your attacks looking at you Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
If they ever make a Jak 4 it needs to be a platformer collectathon like the first game
@@CerealKiller with guns and dark jak of course which dark jak would give you new platforming abilities with more methods of traversal

While i would love it, after the change of Jak 2 and 3 it would feel very strange. Another TPL type of game would just be better to reboot the series instead.
when you first escape the prison and the guards say "surrender and die" is my favourite scene from any game ive ever played
Good job on this video really enjoyed it reminded me of how much i love jak and daxter
Man during the height of Covid.
I played the whole Jak & Daxter series, Sly Cooper Series and Ratchet & Clank Series.
I will say that I genuinely like scene in The Lost Frontier where Jak finds the lab and has his little PTSD moment. It's a good scene and I think the idea of exploring his trauma from the experience would be rich material for a potential Jak 4
3 Hours of my favorite childhood game, definite watch
this video made my life better bro thank you for real. much love brother
I'd never really tried out Jak II, believing that it wouldn't be like the original game. Now I'm curious to try it out, since I've learned it has much of the feel of the first game, which I enjoyed. Thanks for getting me interested in it!
I love Jak and daxter series growing up.
I love a million views on this video as well as 1k people who’ve enjoyed sharing their experiences with this wonderful line of games.
I grow up on spyro, crash, jack and ratchet games, they were my go to platform games that I loved as teen and still love them today, so happy to see they still are remebered not only by me, great video!
Great series, and great coverage.
I still think either a remake for the trilogy or an official 4th game is inevitable. They keep appearing as Easter Eggs in recent games like Last of Us 2 and Rift Apart, which means that they've clearly not been forgotten about.
Uncharted had a precursor orb as a collectible too.
1:02:40 props for not spoiling this moment, even though the game is 20 years old and everyone should know by now lol
Thanks for taking me back, Man. As a kid I LOVED Jack 2 & 3; 2 the most. But the dirt buggies in 3 were fun.
The Jak and daxter trilogy is one of the greatest of all time imo I love it
My only complaint about this game series is that we do not know who exactly Keira and Daxter are and those two are like the other main cast of the characters that have appeared in all main story games (including the bad one). For such important characters, we know nothing of their background, we dont even truly know if Keira is Samos daughter and we know nothing about Daxter's history and I wish the dev's went deeper into their past. I also wish Keira was playable at some point in the main three games, idk y but I feel like she could fight.
Nice to see I wasn't the only weirdo rocking out to the Jak X OST while I worked on my college homework. I had such a love for the series that I kept playing it for a long time.
I found myself playing these games over and over again during the summers. I played Jak 3 the most because it was my favorite at the time, just the desert sandbox was the most fun to drive around in. I really miss those summers, it’s nostalgic looking back on them
