I was in a hotel lobby a few years ago in Savannah, Georgia and Tom Cruise was there waiting for his car. I reluctantly went up and said hi and the for the next 5 minutes all he did was ask my 2 little girls 50 questions about them. The guy was so genuine to my family, I'll never forget it.

I really wish James Corden didn’t get so much shit, especially in his home country. First of all, Gavin and Stacy is one of the most funny, honest, and heartfelt shows I’ve ever seen. Secondly, James is a seemingly genuine and great guy. I don’t know why people rag on him so much.
People always like to bitch about people who they think are "fawning" over their guests, but fail to understand that people like Corden (and Fallon as well...he takes a lot of shit too) genuinely have huge respect for the talent of all their guests and they respect them and their hard work. And it's true....nearly every big successful star is a hard working individual with talent. Most people can't separate their dislike of the art, with the artist and their character. So they think "because I don't like this 'shitty pop music', it must be bad and untalented". They're wrong. They simply can't see past their own bias.
In short, people like Cordon are just far more open minded about the entertainment industry and to those close minded people it comes across like their just always "too positive" and they think it seems fake. In the end it's just unnecessary cynicism where it isn't warranted.
