C'mon CynderSpirit Dragon as most of us know Southpark is mainly aimed at kids from socially deprived areas if it's not viewed from folks who work hard from home and the like after a long busy day and there's nothing wrong with that one! Each to their own I suppose if the latter like that sort of thing, admittedly ofcourse it does make good satire albeit highly controversial and often politically biased and quite often of very poor taste not without being defamatory on regards to your comment. On the same token, Tom is entitled to his Scientology beliefs even if some of us don't exactly share those views but his personal beliefs should not out weigh the fact that he does indeed make a very good and valid point with the unethically ignorant & greedy elements of big pharma that could cost all of us dear beyond our deepest nightmares especially in the wake of the current Corona virus if an antidote is not being offered anytime soon! With that said, it's food for thought that one should also see the bigger picture and not necessarily what the mainstream networks want to distract you with!

And my two grandson's were diagnosed ADHD very young. Ritalin and Adderall are drugs sold on the street, but they are also needed for people who can't function without them. In other words that chemical imbalance they try to rectify. We did not like what the meds did to the boys so my daughter switched docs and got other drugs that helped. You can't possibly know...really KNOW what it's like to see your child like a zombie unable to do much but say I'm sorry. Or before meds running and screaming and getting expelled from kindergarten! Isn't that what Scientologists do as some sort of practice in their drug and alcohol treatment programs? Not joking around but I met a guy once who has a mom who was Scientologist we were in Tampa near Clearwater so their presence was more than I felt comfortable with but none the less the guy proceeded to tell me stories about the treatment where they would have to just stare at a wall and then eventually when they were ready they'd sit across from one another and do the weirdest staring and mirroring type things while not speaking ever that were supposed to retrain the brain. it is interesting when he says that drugs aren't the answer and that there are ways to deal with things so we don't end up in a brave new world, which is something that is more relevant by the day
And when he says that theire is a higher and better quality way of life, he is speaking like a Christian and might be why he is getting more and more hate as the interview progresses, the type of "don't impose your beliefs" which I don't think he is doing...
Tom started to believe in Scientology because of the tools and mental support provided causing him to succeed in his life even more which then makes him more vulnerable to the other out of this world teachings in Scientology. Cults always have some truth in the microcosm but then that’s how they get you with the macrocosm of reality. He’s one of those “if it works then why stop it” fellows from what I’ve gathered. If he actually cared about seeking for absolute truth then he would have departed from them by now.
I don't think this interview was fair to Tom. His right to believe what he wants and his way of treating psychological problems aren't wrong. We should all strive for a drug free cure.
I agree he has the right to believe medication psychological problems but there people in the world like myself who might need it where exercising and eating certain ways doesn't always help psychiatrists then prescribe and there's those who abuse n sell it on the street and make controversy for all sadly we prob won't get past that in today's world
What should have been said to Tom is that he isn't a Dr. Also unless Tom has seen people in person over time who have taken things the way he is saying be "cured" or treated with the ailments they had then he can speak even more. Moreso than just reading about things.
He is saying that he has done more research than the average person, and therefore can draw better conclusions regarding these issues. As Socrates would put it, it is better to know what you don't know than it is to offer opinions as if you do know. This was an interesting interview.
@@alexh1524 That is good and all but what he didn't really do is speak to what Matt said about people he personally knows that HAVE gotten better from the meds, etc. You can't just answer that with "oh i know better." What does that mean? Now if Tom acknowledged and then said something like "from my research i have found that that happens, however those effects they think they feel are a placebo effect." Or something of that nature. It shows Tom acknowledges and heard what Matt is saying. Now whether the statement is true or not is another discussion but i understand why Matt kept pressing to Tom what he was saying because Tom wasn't addressing it, really.
@@marlak4203 You're right. This seems to be crux of the discussion. Matt states that there are people who have benefited from the meds while Tom says that meds only 'mask' the problem. The interesting thing is that Tom's point about how meds are perceived and how they actually work is true in other areas of medicine. For example, most cold and flu medications are generally perceived as possessing curative properties while in reality they merely mask the ill effects from the viral infection. Even worse, the medications actually hamper the body's efforts to fight off the infection. Yet, a doctor will still prescribe the medication because most people mistakenly perceive that the medications are helping them get better.

He'll tell you that you don't know what you're talking about and basically try to make you feel stupid for believing what you do and taking the side that you've taken.
This is straight from a UCL study in 2022: "It is important that people know that the idea that depression results from a “chemical imbalance” is hypothetical. And we do not understand what temporarily elevating serotonin or other biochemical changes produced by antidepressants do to the brain. We conclude that it is impossible to say that taking SSRI antidepressants is worthwhile, or even completely safe. People need all this information to make informed decisions about whether or not to take antidepressants." I rarely if ever say this, but Tom Cruise was--and still is--right.
He's saying this has a member of a Cult - Scientology Church - who keeps victims in control by providing alternative medical and psychotherapeutical treatment to them. Definitely not making a point by quoting him for the sake of this argument.
He really isn't. SSRI's have helped far more people than they have harmed, it's about making sure you get the right dosage and stepping down the dosage if you start to get negative side-effects, and quitting entirely if they don't seem to be helping. Some people get bad doctors or bad dosages and sometimes bad things happen - but statistically these are uncommon compared to the good results. Anything that is a net good, is a good thing.

So R Kelly, Matt Laury n Tom Cruise walk into a bar...
That's comedy magic just waiting to happen
Lol
You’re glib
And he also said you can't know what it's like to be a parent until you are one. And yet he knows all about post partum depression...well the lack of it, since he thinks it's all BS. And all the other things he knows EVERYTHING about. Tom take a bow....and drop that uppity ego on the floor. My niece suffered PPD this past year. It is frightening! You don't know what is happening to the person at first and you can't help. THEY don't know what is happening. She was talking about completely bizarre nonsensical things. Very scary. Or banging their head all night on the wall. Tom you don't know everything just because you are Tom Cruise. Sorry dear.🤔

Because people are brainswashed by big pharma and on these meds and they simp for them not realizing it just turns you into a zombie and fries your brain (what tom calls "masking the problem.) Toms not crazy, he's actually very intelligent and makes perfect sense with everything he says here, except the scientology BS
Well it’s a shame that like 90% of his life is about Scientology
He makes no sense but thinks he's brilliant. He's easy prey for the Scientologists and their load of... well, ravings from Hubbard who was himself dealing with mental health challenges.
it is interesting when he says that drugs aren't the answer and that there are ways to deal with things so we don't end up in a brave new world, which is something that is more relevant by the day
And when he says that theire is a higher and better quality way of life, he is speaking like a Christian and might be why he is getting more and more hate as the interview progresses, the type of "don't impose your beliefs" which I don't think he is doing...

I agree he has the right to believe medication psychological problems but there people in the world like myself who might need it where exercising and eating certain ways doesn't always help psychiatrists then prescribe and there's those who abuse n sell it on the street and make controversy for all sadly we prob won't get past that in today's world

Agree, totally
Epic troll 😅
“But you don’t understand. and I do”
Quote of the century, used daily
What should have been said to Tom is that he isn't a Dr.
Also unless Tom has seen people in person over time who have taken things the way he is saying be "cured" or treated with the ailments they had then he can speak even more. Moreso than just reading about things.
He is saying that he has done more research than the average person, and therefore can draw better conclusions regarding these issues. As Socrates would put it, it is better to know what you don't know than it is to offer opinions as if you do know. This was an interesting interview.
@@alexh1524
That is good and all but what he didn't really do is speak to what Matt said about people he personally knows that HAVE gotten better from the meds, etc.
@@alexh1524 I know his point. But he said what I quoted so many times it’s sounds amusing

This is straight from a UCL study in 2022:
"It is important that people know that the idea that depression results from a “chemical imbalance” is hypothetical. And we do not understand what temporarily elevating serotonin or other biochemical changes produced by antidepressants do to the brain. We conclude that it is impossible to say that taking SSRI antidepressants is worthwhile, or even completely safe. People need all this information to make informed decisions about whether or not to take antidepressants."
I rarely if ever say this, but Tom Cruise was--and still is--right.

Tom was correct, psychiatry is in fact a pseudoscience and drugs do not fix any so called "mental health" problems, they do just mask them without ever getting to the true root of the so called "problem".. And Governments have no right to regulate or push any pharmaceutical drugs or substances and that includes vaccines, and ALL drugs/vaccines have negative effects along with whatever desired effect that they give. Side effects do not exist, they are simply the effects and the term side effect is used to give the illusion that they are not important..
It is no measure of good mental health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society and we live in a very sick society..
Reading through these comments make me realize just how far gone people really are, they have been severely brainwashed and dumbed down and it is very very sad..

I think I actually agree with TC. When I was 12, I developed Anorexia, Panic Disorder and my then GP prescribed Valium and I took it whenever. This led to my feeling very ill, suicidal and I then spent my late teens, 20’s 30’s seeing many Psychiatrists who handed out many different types of antidepressants, mood stabilisers, strong meds like Lithium, Benzodiazepines, sleep pills. Often all at once, changing everything I had another appointment. Decades of bad therapy and now at 62, I have a neurological disease. I have tried to get off these meds but I just can’t. I’ve read a lot about psychiatry and feel very strongly that I should not have been given these medications at 12 years old. What have they done to me, what harm have they caused. They’ve not ‘fixed’ me and I became so ill possibly as a result and have been unable to live a normal life.
I’ll never know now.
