Yes!!! “Turn to page 394.” -Snape, Circa 1993 Thank you so much for highlighting the beautiful technical work of Alfonso Cuaron in this film. Also, it’s nice to see someone have an emotional connection to this film. I remember being emotional myself watching this one for the first time, even after reading the book. Buckbeak’s flight was always a special moment for me (that score! Last soundtrack from John Wiliams for these films). Also, I love the direction of this film. It’s my personal favorite of the series.
Each film gets darker as you go through the series. Even the Warner Bros. logo is different with each film after Year 1. Edit: Rest in peace, Sir Michael Gambon (the new Dumbledore actor from this film onward). 2nd edit: Gary Oldman is BRILLIANT as Sirius Black! 3rd edit: That was Warwick Davis from the previous two films, in case you couldn't recognize him. And you're right. The kid actors HAVE grown. They legit grow more and more mature in each film. 4th edit: I think Harry was thinking of his parents before the night they were killed. He said he didn't know exactly what they were saying to him, which would make sense given that he WAS still a baby when Voldemort killed them, but thinking about his parents months before that fateful October evening was a wise choice. Lupin inspired Harry to remember being with his parents and living out each day with them before all this happened. He wasn't sure if it was real, but I think it was. Hell, I bet that memory was Lily and James telling Harry how much they both love him and how proud they were to be his parents. 5th edit: Harry had discovered his Patronus in that moment: A stag deer. It was the same as his father's, hence why he initially thought it was James. Harry thought he saw his father's spirit, but he had done it himself, albeit a more powerful version since his effort earlier wasn't powerful enough, especially against a massive amount of Dementors.

46:12 I always get chills and a bit teary from this scene! The beautiful pulsating sound effect of the patronus itself and John Williams’ beautiful choral score called “The Patronus Light” gives a sense of hope and power throughout the scene 🤍
What's explained better in the books is why Harry returns to the Dursleys every summer. The mother's love saved Harry that night, but it also continued to protect Harry in the home. The blessing would transfer to the home of a blood relative, Aunt Petunia, as long as Harry considered that his home. So by returning each summer, the Dursley home was safe from Voldemort. It also protected Petunia and her family. Harry's presence kept the house safe for both Harry and the Dursleys. Hogwarts (and the train) were guarded against Voldemort so Harry was safe there. I don't know what protected in the neighborhood of Little Whinging. There are magic ways of traveling. Hogwarts was closed to those so there became no way for Harry to leave Hogwarts except walking out the gate.
Lil things from the book that didn't make it, but are quite funny: McGonagall asking whose dying that year after the kids go to her class after the first class with Trelawney. Harry thought that Snape gave Lupin poison while he was having tea with him. Harry picturing a patronus as a huge bulky guy. The marauders map displayed more messages for Snape when he tried to read it.
It’s so amazing how she so accurately predicts everything. I’ve seen over 15 channels react to Harry Potter and you’re the first one to do this.love it
In the first war, there was a spell on Voldemort`s name. When people mentioned him, his followers appeared immediately and killed or tortured them. I don`t know why the young wizards aren`t taught about that. They were just told that his name was Tabu. So, all those who lived through the war with Voldemort and his followers are horrified by his name.
A little clarification: Animagi cannot choose the animal they will turn into - it is the one that the holder resembles the most in spiritual sense (Pettigrew is the most obvious example: he's a dirty coward who RATTED his friends out). Most often, they match the Patronus animal form (but the Patronus form may change - very rarely, but still; no spoilers)
The most pivotal and overlooked character in Harry Potter is the divination Professor Trelawney... Even here her prophecy was right, Servant and master were reunited in that pettigrew got away and went looking for voldemort.
Elegance is not just in the attire but also in the editing I see, the bell's ding, synched with the soundtrack of the scene is golden, who ever edits those videos, well done! The Leaky Cualdron is also the entrance of the Magical London, so apart from travelling by Flew Powder, you've got to enter via that establishement or another special entrance. Of course Lupin knows what the map is, he is one of those (Moony) who designed it ! Padfoot is Sirius, Prongs is Harry's father and Wormtail is Peter. Study the names, Rowling doesn't choses names at random, they all have a symbolic meaning. Remus Lupin comes from, one, Remus, one of the twins who founded Rome, and two, Lupus, Latin for Wolf. Patronus also comes from Latin meaning Patreon (Protector), Expecto is exactly what gives to Expect in English, "I await the Protector". The Patronus also represent what you used as a happiest comfort to conjure it, here it's his father who was a Stag as an Animagus. Your Patronus can change form with your feelings (and thus what you use as memory to conjure it). Dementors are a symbol for depression and of course they were inspired by the Nazgul (O-b-viously, as Snape would say...) What makes that movie so good, aside of original camera work are all the set up-pay offs or Chekov's gun narratives implented throughout the movie. As you might have noticed, the Hippogriff doesn't come back in the movie, however, he does appear in the books, mostly in the fourth and fifth.
Was thinking the same. The wolf being a person, Serious not being bad, knowing he would ride buckbeak again, Harry's fear being the dementor, the scream being his mom, Serious being the wolf from the beginning, knowing the map before it even appeared. That's just a few and I noticed it with her other HP reactions...

I've noticed a lot of reactors see Black's animal form as a wolf, especially when he first shows up at the start. I've always thought, from the books, that he was more like a black Lab, which can appear quite ferocious but is actually (usually) quite a friendly dog.

16:03 - You should watch Contact if you haven't already seen it. It has a similar shot that is super impressive and some other really cool transitions.
8:56 Reason they look older is because two years had passed. I think it's partially due to the fact the actor who played Dumbledore died and they had to find a new one.
In the books, all three (Harry, Ron, and Hermoine) stunned Professor Snape in the Shrieking Shack. After a glance from Harry, all three acted at once to stun Snape.
I agree that Alan Rickman's (Snape) voice was great and would have made great asmr but sadly he died from prostate cancer in Jan 2016. Him, Richard Harris (Original Dumbledore), Michael Gambon (Dumbledore after Richard's death), and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon Dursley) were 4 of the greatest actors, may they all rest in peace
I had read a few times that Crookshanks is meant to have originally been Lily Potter's cat. That he was their cat and when Lily and James were killed and the house destroyed, he ran away and had a rough life before being caught and living in the pet shop for several years before being bought by Hermione. Mind you, I'm not claiming that it's fact, just reading a few times that this, afterwards, being relayed by the author to some ppl.
Movie starts with Harry deliberately doing magic outside of school. Story opens with Harry almost getting in trouble because he unintentionally did magic outside of school. Nothing like a consistent narrative :D It isn't shown super well in the movie but Harry's Patronus actually fully takes the form of a stag. The movie makes it seem like the stag form was a hallucination or something when Harry later casts the spell, and an image of a stag hovers in a cone of light, but the first time you see the stag is actually more accurate. Except for the stag just standing there, emitting pulses of light. It charges at the dementors and acts more like a live creature.
even thou this is a great movie this is where they start to have problems with fitting everything from the books into the films. 44:00 for example the reason Harry though his dad saved him is because when they were in the shrieking shack after they capture Peter lupin and Black told Harry more about his father and their school days. Harry’s father’s patronus form was a stag. He also learned that the shrieking shack and whomping willow were put in place by dumbledore to help lupin have a safe place to restrain himself on full moon while he was in school. We also about the animagus as well. As a symbol of solidarity James, Sirius and a coerced Peter decided to go through the long and dangerous process to become animagus in secret so they could stay with their friend during full moons. Remus Lupin a werewolf Peter Pettigrew a rat Sirius Black a dog James Potter a stag Now that brings us to another topic, Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are proud to present the marauders' map. Peter Pettigrew: Wormtail the rat Remus Lupin: Moony the werewolf Sirius Black: Padfoot the dog James Potter: Prongs the stag The Marauder’s were James and his friends they created the map while they were at hogwarts. The names were nicknames given to each other based of their forms
Dumbledore knows that the kids are going to try SOMETHING, whether or not he gives them permission, so instead he helps prepare them by basically telling them a plan and assisting them subtly (distracting the others while Buckbeak was being freed)
52:38 "It honestly feels so rushed. I think they should make this into a TV series and really take their time with these characters." Well now..., if that's what you really think then have I got news for you lmao...
The reason Harry's patronus was so powerful is that it has to be based on a happy thought. And Harry expected to see his father appear right before him to save them all. He expected to see his father; the patron of his family. Expecto Patronum. On the other hand, he was being a bit dim about it. "I saw my father, casting the same spell I just learned, wearing the exact same clothes I've been wearing all day.
Funny that you mentioned making a TV show, they are now. They are rebooting the entire series as a television show. Each book in the series is going to be an entire season of shows. Supposedly an hour length or more of each episode though that might change. So they have enough time to show more of what was in the books.
I really wish they would do it in a Don Bluth Style 2D animation with the aesthetic of the Jim Kay illustrations. Love how he made Hogwarts look. I just feel like not enough time has passed for it to be live action and I think it should be a different medium.
Little fun fact for you the marauders map was created by : Professor Lupin (moony) Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) Serious black (Padfoot) James potter aka Harry’s dad (prongs) in their younger days when they were all alive and friends
Professor Sybil Trelawney is actually very important for the plot and in the books she actually makes more predictions and they do come true . She is awesome at seeing in the future ,but sometimes has problems with making the right interpretation

Yep, it only gets darker and darker from here on out.
Waiting on the 5th edit...
@@joshuatolodxi179 You're waiting for me to spoil something in the later installments. I ain't falling for it.
@@EntertainmentFan11 no, i was literally just taking a jab at the fact that you've edited this so many times.. and since I tl;dr'ed most of it, I didn't see the 5th edit until just now...
So I guess now I'm waiting on the 6th edit?
Seriously obsessed with your reactions to these movies. You really pick up on things so quickly. I love it.
When Peter escaped i really thought u were gonna say: rats! 😂
You're doing an amazing job on this franchise. Keep it up.
46:12 I always get chills and a bit teary from this scene! The beautiful pulsating sound effect of the patronus itself and John Williams’ beautiful choral score called “The Patronus Light” gives a sense of hope and power throughout the scene 🤍
You can tell she saw this movie before lol she knew way more than she should.
if youre going to pretend its a first time watch atleast pretend you dont know whats going to happen lol
The use of perspective in this movie is just brilliant
19:31. It symbolizes the Grim. It's the same image seen in Harry's tea cup.
Favorite Harry potter movie by far
"Don't Bogart that Potter, my friend." 😅
It’s so amazing how she so accurately predicts everything. I’ve seen over 15 channels react to Harry Potter and you’re the first one to do this.love it
It's almost as she's seen the movie before....
Collete is our Hermione
In the first war, there was a spell on Voldemort`s name.
When people mentioned him, his followers appeared immediately and killed or tortured them. I don`t know why the young wizards aren`t taught about that. They were just told that his name was Tabu. So, all those who lived through the war with Voldemort and his followers are horrified by his name.
8:13 "It's just a matter of TIME"
wow, called it without realizing it ;)
A little clarification: Animagi cannot choose the animal they will turn into - it is the one that the holder resembles the most in spiritual sense (Pettigrew is the most obvious example: he's a dirty coward who RATTED his friends out). Most often, they match the Patronus animal form (but the Patronus form may change - very rarely, but still; no spoilers)
Mcgonagall is a cat, because she takes no nonsense from anyone.
Dementors are a symbol for depression and of course they were inspired by the Nazgul (O-b-viously, as Snape would say...)
What makes that movie so good, aside of original camera work are all the set up-pay offs or Chekov's gun narratives implented throughout the movie.
As you might have noticed, the Hippogriff doesn't come back in the movie, however, he does appear in the books, mostly in the fourth and fifth.
Thank you! It’s been a long time figuring out my style of edits (I actually did this one!)
Hippogriff comes back to save Hermione and Harry from lupin! Which was a cool touch
No way she hasn’t seen this movie before. She knew everything
@@lulumo9229 In a sense, it's almost genius. When you think about it, she's an actress. She can just add her reaction channel to her portfolio like "my audience thinks it's authentic, but really... I'm acting!"
I've noticed a lot of reactors see Black's animal form as a wolf, especially when he first shows up at the start. I've always thought, from the books, that he was more like a black Lab, which can appear quite ferocious but is actually (usually) quite a friendly dog.
Even though the movies sometimes give a lot of clues, you're very good at analyzing and figuring out the twists before they happen. I noticed a lot of people in the comments don't believe this is a first time viewing, but I do because my mom was the same way when she saw them for the first time. Don't know if you've taken the official sorting quiz yet, but I'm getting strong Ravenclaws vibes from your brilliance.
Hey, just saw your reaction om my comment and yeah, we are on the same page. 😃
Question, it's personal so your don't have to answere if you don't want to, have you or your mom ever taken the official sorting quiz? And what houses are you in? Just wondering😃. I'm a Huffleclaw. I got sorted into Hufflepuff last time I did the quiz😊
@@ChrisReacts4fun sorry for the late response. I'm a Slytherin, she's a ravenclaw. Speaking of quizzes there's this cool wand making site called Fantasy by Numbers that have many different designs you can mix amd match with but they also have a quiz that gives you a design, I can't recommend it enough!
@13:52 My friend got a ride this hippogriff tattoo! Never fails.
@ColetteCherry I forgot. In the last movie you asked if there were any good Slytherins, and the answer is yes, but in the extended universe. (Andromeda Tonks)
17:00 - It doesn't look like you've reacted to the Jodie Foster sci-fi movie "Contact" on your channel. That movie also has a really stunning mirror shot.
I immediately thought of that scene too!
You are so sharp! Nothing got past you, you picked up every little thing! The next movies will be a treat for you. I think there is a tv series coming out next year; they do have to compress the movies from the book and leave out/modify things.
Almost like she watches the movie and then watches it again and reacts to it.
26:10 Girl cmon. This isnt your first time watching this movie, surely. You somehow always know all the plot twists in every movie youve watched
I definitely get a lot wrong. This is a highly edited video. The uncut versions which are 2 1/2 hours show my thought process and analysis more on my patreon.com/colettecherry
We have seen McConnell can be a cat and the tapping sound made are clearly from a tiny creature - a mouse / rodent/ cat
16:03 - You should watch Contact if you haven't already seen it. It has a similar shot that is super impressive and some other really cool transitions.
16:10 only UA-camr who mentions this amazing camera work 🙌🙌
8:56 Reason they look older is because two years had passed. I think it's partially due to the fact the actor who played Dumbledore died and they had to find a new one.
The "malfoy is still obsessed with harry" go me lmao😭
he is channeling his emotions with dad thats why he conjured that much powerful patronous tbh
I’m so excited that you figured out Pettigrew was the rat, even before figuring out Sirius was the dog. Love the way you analyse.
This is my fav of the series for a variety of reasons.
The leaky cauldron is the entrance to Diagon Alley, so a natural meeting place. And also the only wizarding settlement Harry knew of at the time.
Alfonso Cuarón is a genius 💎
This is everyone's favorite.
I remember watching this film as a kid in the theater. What an amazing movie, this is my favorite of this franchise
Absolutely the VERY BEST Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Harry ever has!
I dont know man I kinda like cats :D
Movie starts with Harry deliberately doing magic outside of school. Story opens with Harry almost getting in trouble because he unintentionally did magic outside of school. Nothing like a consistent narrative :D
It isn't shown super well in the movie but Harry's Patronus actually fully takes the form of a stag.
Remus Lupin a werewolf
Peter Pettigrew a rat
Sirius Black a dog
James Potter a stag
Now that brings us to another topic,
Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are proud to present the marauders' map.
Peter Pettigrew: Wormtail the rat
Remus Lupin: Moony the werewolf
Sirius Black: Padfoot the dog
James Potter: Prongs the stag
The Marauder’s were James and his friends they created the map while they were at hogwarts. The names were nicknames given to each other based of their forms
Dumbledore knows that the kids are going to try SOMETHING, whether or not he gives them permission, so instead he helps prepare them by basically telling them a plan and assisting them subtly (distracting the others while Buckbeak was being freed)
Lupin is definitely my favorite Hogwarts professor
This is one of my favorite Potter movies and I loved watching you react to it 👍😊
Hope you enjoyed the series! This is my personal fav. Waiting for the next uploads! Also you’re extremely beautiful good for you!😁
Colette . Did you realize that Prof. Lupin's darkest fear is fullmoon at 16:54 . At the Boggart scene.. That was a foreshadow.. :)
52:38
"It honestly feels so rushed. I think they should make this into a TV series and really take their time with these characters."
Well now..., if that's what you really think then have I got news for you lmao...
49:50 The feather isn't black, it's gray. Perhaps . . . Buckbeak colored? But the conclusion to be drawn is the same: that the broom was from Sirius.
You continually surprise me with how intuitive you are at figuring out the story accurately.😮
Your Reactions are so fun to watch and you and your outfits are gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You were so spot on in your predictions😊 totally observant. I appreciate that about you
the scene where Harry casts the Patronus to save him and Sirius always makes me emo ;--;
@@TothanCrawk That would be a cool idea, I never thought of it like that till now. It would be a great choice
yea, she's seen this before...
lol you might be the first person I’ve seen get the pettigrew twist before it’s revealed! Good on you love haha! Love the Harry Potter series! A++
Feather at the end was a Buckbeak feather! 😊
Thanks for the awesome video Collette 🍒
I'm pretty shore that you would be a Ravenclaw. You figure out a lot of these movies!
well shes already seen the movies
@@mastixencounterYou litterally have no proof of that tho.
When you said, "But he's dead, it must be a lie" when harry sees peter pettigrew on the map, I instinctively said "THE MAP NEVA LIES!!!"
Your analysis of Hermione is accurate. Read books for more Hermione shenanigans
Little fun fact for you the marauders map was created by :
Professor Lupin (moony)
Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail)
Serious black (Padfoot) James potter aka Harry’s dad (prongs) in their younger days when they were all alive and friends
My favorites are Prisoner of Azkaban and Half-Blood Prince. Both have such a good story.
Professor Sybil Trelawney is actually very important for the plot and in the books she actually makes more predictions and they do come true .
She is awesome at seeing in the future ,but sometimes has problems with making the right interpretation
Imagine if you were lupin getting your hand on the marauders map again... The memories would sink in, The Marauders
Having just gone back and watched Colette’s reactions to Deadpool and Deadpool 2, I think I can safely speak for everyone here when I say; Colette, we really, REALLY need you to react to The Thing (1982).
27:08 it’s because he made it with James, Sirius and Peter lmao
It sure was hard recognizing Emma Thompson as Professor Trelawney, so talented!
Geat movie. I've seen all the movies many times as I bought the box set of DVD's . Thanks Collette 🥰😘
My favorite Harry Potter movie, I watched it TONS of times as a kid
The wherewolf cene is still creepy, the way lupus turn, and running in the forrest, imagine it was a horror movie with that wherewolf and music, would been insane horror movie
The math is not mathing...I like the vocab, it works. It butches the English language, but hey, we just roll with it. Like the way you constantly try to figure out the significance of the scene and are not fooled by first appearances. Good reaction
Awesomeness! I hope you have a great day!
Shocker! Draco's mother is Sirius' cousin and you'll meet Draco's cousin who marries Lupin. Draco's aunt also makes an appearance in the later films and if you think Lucius is bad.....
Your narrative awareness is so hot.
My absolute favourite hp movie. I've watched this well and truly over 250 times. Almost every word. The book is amazing, and as commenters say, there's a lot left out. Lupin - Mooney, James - Prongs, Sirius - Padfoot & Peter - Wormtail are the creators of the map. Sirius, James & Peter became unregistered Animagi (Stag, Dog & Rat) so they can hang out with Lupin. The whomping willow was planted when Lupin came to Hogwarts. 😊
“I was not expecting to cry to Harry Potter” oh boy 😅prepare yourself
36:56
"Werewolf?"
"There wolf."
"There castle."
