I have seen so many people reacting to HP movies, but you guys are the first ones to realise that Lupin was one of few people who called Voldemort by his name. As at that time people were still afraid of taking his name.
Remember though that the name he created actually was a sort of magical in nature and I’m it’s design using certain ancient knowledge to turn that name into something that’d alert him of the location of the person who speaks the name!!! Then he’d just apparate there and kill them or whatever else.
@@Makkaru112 correct me if i am wrong- he did it after he came back in OFTP to locate Harry 'cause he knew Harry was the only one, amongst the few others, who dared to say his name. That is why after OFTP Harry also started saying "You Know Who" instead of Voldemort
The movies never explained but, Lupin is moony, Sirius is padfoot, Peter is wormtail, and Harry's dad is prongs, they created the map their fifth year at hogwarts.
Interesting bit about the Ron's devination at First Divination class. He predicted Harry's feelings right. "You're gonna suffer, but you'll be happy about it" gives great explaination of Harry's feelings towards Sirius. He suffered after learning that his godfather and a friend of family "betrayed" his parents, but later on he learned the truth and Harry is now happy that he now has a family member that perfectly knew his parents and grew up along with them and that doesn't treat Harry as unwanted. Suffering brought happiness.
@@frankjuggaloheathen1035 Well, I think people's attention was more caught by the Grim discovery, rather than Ron's actual devination. So I can't blame you for not noticing, especially when in the books this class is described as tomfoolery and nobody is taking it seriously besides few students, so your mind instantly does not take this subject seriously and you dont go deep with it. I myself found a connection between devinitaion and the actual plot only recently, when I started to pay closer attention to try and get all the small details that usually cool, but not in the front view.
Fun fact - all divination ever mentioned in the books actually happen, down to the small details. It gets even more extremely ridiculous with Trelawney, because when she goes around the halls drunk - she actually tarot reads that Harry is standing right next to her - hiding.
@@mjm3091 or her prediction when Harry returns the ball. Spoilers below for those who are watching for the first time along with channel owners. Trelawney literally described events of the finale of Prizoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. First she describes the return of the traitor, but then she describes the innocent blood spilling (which can be either Cedric or Harry, depending on how you interpret this) and servant reuniting with the Dark Lord.
1:20 isn't mentioned in movies, but the reason this tree is here in the first place is to guard the pathway to the house where Lupin transformed during his school years every month, there is the lever that stops tree from moving. His friends James, Peter and Sirius learned to turn into animals in order to be with him during his transformations(werewolfs aren't aggressive towards other animals). Peter turned into a rat and pulled the lever, tree didn't see him because he is small. They are also the ones who made the marouders map(their animals nicknames could be heard even in movie when mal talked to Snape)
As someone who read the books, this was truly the beginning of the movies leaving out so much information and story from the books, and it always makes me and my Harry Potter friends so sad. A huge fact that was changed by the movie in casting alone is that both Lily and James, Harry's parents, were 21 when they died. TWENTY-ONE. They had Harry when they were 20!! In addition, James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter ARE the Mauraders!! The four people who made the Marauder's Map; that's why Remus knew what it was and how it worked, he was one of the ones that created it! When Remus was a boy he was attacked and bitten and turned into a werewolf but there was no Wolfsbane Potion that existed yet to keep the violent aspects of it in check, so Dumbledore created a secret tunnel to a house he created in Hogsmeade, and the tunnel was its only entrance, and planted the Whomping Willow on top of the tunnel's entrance to keep other kids from finding it and that was where Remus would turn every full moon so he was safe from himself and others. That's where the tales of the Shrieking Shack came from; it was the house where Remus was transforming in agony once a month, and spending a tortuous night in. When his three best friends found out they went through the arduous ritual of becoming animagi (plural of animagus) and keeping it a secret so that Remus wouldn't be alone anymore during those hard nights; a werewolf attacks people when not in control because they're seen as a threat, not so much animals. Sirius became a dog, Peter a rat, and James a stag/deer. So they took on secret nicknames to reflect that; Remus is Moony (werewolf), Sirius is Padfoot (as in the pads on a dog's foot), Peter was Wormtail (as in a rat's tail), and James was Prongs (because a male deer's antlers are pronged, meaning many separate protrusions). In the movies, you NEVER LEARN THIS, while in the books Remus and Sirius tell the trio everything when they're explaining about their friendship and Peter's betrayal in the Shrieking Shack. So many people who only watched the movies are confused about why some details about the map are even included, with all the sass that was given by the enchantments of the Marauder's teenage personalities to Snape and those kinds of things. The four boys were notorious pranksters and troublemakers during their time at Hogwarts, just like Remus said about James to Harry in the movie. There is an entire interior fanbase within the Harry Potter fans that exists around the Marauders, which is great and terrible at the same time because we basically know nothing about them, especially in the movies. In addition, book Ron would NEVER have agreed with Snape during their lesson when he called Hermione an "insufferable know-it-all", in the book Ron literally calls Snape out on it and yells at him and gets in trouble for it. There's also a lot of lines that Ron has in the books that are given to Hermione in the movies, which makes people who've only read the books think that Ron is a total dumbass when in reality he's the strategic mind of the group. That's why he's so good at wizard's chess and had that focus in the first movie and book! And don't even get me started on book Ginny vs movie Ginny. You'll see eventually, but Ginny in the books is so badass and spunky and doesn't take any shit meanwhile in the movies she was made into this shy, meek little girl whose whole character is that she has a crush on Harry. From this movie onwards, more and more important details are left out of the movies that are just so important to the story and plot and THEMES of the books that are just taken away... And that's one of the things it saddens me the most about.
Nice comment. Same for me. But to be fair it's nearly impossible to include all that in a movie this short. I wish they did extra long movies like the lord of the rings saga but again they had very little time because the actors were growing up and stuff. I hope the TV series they are producing right now is going to include much more detail from the books :D
@@WALLIS.. I am well aware of this, however in the case of the explanation about the Marauders and many other inclusions that I personally feel were very important to the story and themes that the story were telling (that I will not go into here as I don't want to spoil the boys), it only would've taken a few additional minutes of screen time in order to include those details! In the case of Ginny (again with no spoilers), they made completely new scenes for her instead of sticking with the original ones from the books, which SIGNIFICANTLY impacted how her character was portrayed and seen by people who only watched the movies. I love Bonnie Wright, but the newer scenes made by the writers and directors for the movies did not portray Ginny as she was always meant to be, and it truly was a detriment to her character and the impact she's supposed to make in later movies.
Feel the same, especially as PoA is my favourite book in the series. When I was younger I picked it up and started reading a few passages after my sister left it out and so I stopped and went back to start from the beginning - it started my love of the series. So I was gutted when they left out and rushed details about the Marauders in the film.
I thought I was the only one who wrote a long comment and would've died of embarrassment but oh god THANK YOU!!! It's always great to find super passionate fans who also have the desire to explain things in detail to others
when perfectly casted, a patronus charm takes the form of an animal who represents the wizard. It's personal to each. Harry's patrons took the form of a deer because his father was an animagus who can turn into a deer. He's the maraudeur Prongs from the map (Padfoot is sirius, Wormtail Peter and Moony is Lupin).
It's not confirmed, but to me it seems that Patronus manifestation looks like the animal that the Animagus will be able to turn into. Becoming an Animagus is extremely diffcult and takes months to prepare a wizard for thus kind of challenge. Same as Patronus, as it needs great manifestation of your memories and spirit, so to me they are connected. Plus, lets give props to the Marauders. Despite the fact that Animagus process takes months and extremely diffcult to achieve, all of them, including Pettigrew, managed to achieve it, without government knowing it, and while studying in school still (I belive they also did it extremely early to keep company for Remus when he turns into a werewolf) Marauders could've been greatest wizards of their age. Especially when we see Remus, Sirius and even Snape at their 30s (yes, in canon by the time of the third book, Sirius, Snape, Remus and others are in their early 30s)
@@inspector_beyond If I remember correctly It took 5 years for the marauders to become animagii ( they found about remus in their first year). Your theory about the patronus is very interesting, even though it would mean that Dumbledore can became a Phoenix ?
@@bluemonger Did they? Because if I remmeber correctly, Snape found out about Lupin around their 5th year, while Marauders were already animagii. Plus, their nicknames are based on their animagus animal, so they created the Map and Became animagii some time after they found out about Lupin, Whomping Willow and the Shrieking Shack. But it definitely didn't took 5 years to do so. In my understanding, they were already completely established by the end of 4th year, most logically. But yet again, I might be wrong about the timeline.
@@inspector_beyond i checked and they became animagii around the end of their fourth year and their OWL's exam. They created the map between the fifth and the seventh year
@@bluemonger Just checked the information. James, Sirius and Peter figured out about Remus during their second year and it took them three years to master animagii trasnformation and by the beginning of the fifth year, James could turn into the Stag. Ok, so, scratch off what I said before, now the timeline is like that: 2nd year - found out about Remus, 5th year - became animagii and some time after that, they've created the Map.
Actually at 38:52 in the book Ron defends Hermione by saying to Snape something like " You ask something and she knows the anwser . Don't ask questions if you don't want answers ". And I think he gots detention for that . I've never understand why they change that . I mean in the movie its kind of mean .
The movies sacrifice Ron's character for the sake of teen drama, comic relief and to turn Hermione into a superhero. At least the Deathly Hallows movies give Ron some respect.
It does so much for Snape's character that he put himself in front of the children, protecting them physically from harm even though he's really not a fan of them, especially if you know more of the story and his history. Man isn't a great teacher and he may be a questionable character but he was willing to be dog chow first to protect the kids under his care. That says a lot about his moral fibre, I think.
The virtues of re-watching! I am also still picking up on some things almost every time... what masterclass of acting this was from almost everyone involved. No wonder the kids took a considereble step also with each new movie.
The third movie is probably one of the saddest. Sirius was innocent and had to spend 12 years locked away with Dementors lurking in every corner. He had to preserve his happy memories, otherwise, the Dementors would've fed on him. So he forcefully had to always think of bad things and relive bad memories to prevent that from happening. Imagine living 12 years reliving your worst memories. Not to mention that HE was the one who discovered James and Lily's bodies and he chased after Peter, only for the bloody rat to blow up a crowd of people and transform, leaving Sirius the main suspect of everything and framing him. ""After realizing Peter Pettigrew's betrayal, Sirius Black came to the cottage. He offered to take Harry, but Hagrid refused on Dumbledore's orders. Sirius then lent Hagrid his flying motorbike and went off to seek revenge on Peter. Sirius tracked Pettigrew down and was determined to kill him in vengeance. However, Pettigrew outwitted Black: confronted by Sirius on a city street, he shouted out that it was Sirius who betrayed the Potters, and then created a huge explosion on the street with an extremely powerful explosive curse, killing twelve Muggles in the process and enabling him to fake his own death and escape in his Animagus form, leaving a severed finger behind as evidence. The surviving Muggles who witnessed the event were pretty certain they saw Sirius murder their twelve companions and Pettigrew with the curse, and Fudge claimed to have seen Sirius laughing maniacally at the scene of the crime."" “I persuaded Lily and James to change to Peter at the last moment, persuaded them to use him as Secret-Keeper instead of me… I’m to blame, I know it… The night they died, I'd arranged to check on Peter, make sure he was still safe, but when I arrived at his hiding place, he’d gone. Yet there was no sign of a struggle. It didn’t feel right. I was scared. I set out for your parents’ house straight away. And when I saw their house, destroyed, and their bodies… I realized what Peter must’ve done… what I'd done…” - Prisoner of Azkaban, chapter 19, The Servant of Lord Voldemort Unfortunately, none of this is revealed in the movies. There's just so much information that has been omitted and you can only find it in the books which sucks because there are important facts people need to know, especially those revolving around the Marauders. But worry not, you have us and you can ask us any questions you want. Also, the third movie just holds SO MUCH nostalgia and melancholia. Thinking about the four friends who used to be inseparable and then one of them betrayed the others and caused so much pain and suffering. It's a pity they didn't reveal more about the Marauders in this movie. If it's not clear, James (Prongs), Sirius (Padfoot), Remus (Mooney), and Peter (Wormtail) are the Marauders. They created the Map. Also, James, Sirius, and Peter learned how to turn into animals so they could accompany Remus during full moons when he turns into a werewolf, so he's not alone. That's how close they were. Not just best friends, actually, but a family. And of course, Lily joined later on. It's just so utterly sad thinking of their era. Not to mention that they all lived through the First Wizarding War when everyone had to hide because of Voldy and his army. And actually, Voldy put a spell on his name so that anyone who speaks his name out loud could be traced and eventually killed. That's why they began calling him You Know Who and that has scarred and traumatized everyone who lived during the First War, hence why everyone is still calling him You Know Who and why Arthur corrected Harry. It just hits so hard learning what all these people went through. Most of them died at such a young age. I mean, James and Lily were only 21. Idk why they portray them as so old in the movies. They were younger than us TT^TT And my heart is aching for Professor McGonagall. She taught everyone for seven years and then half her students died in the war. I cannot imagine the pain. I really hope you dig deeper after the movies and get more into the Marauders era part of the fandom. Personally, I find their era more interesting than Harry's era and I'm sure you'll absolutely love it too. There is much more depth and complexity and so many more characters involved that have major roles, especially if we include the noble pureblood families like Sirius' family - the most ancient and noble House of Black. His family has one of the BEST stories EVER!! Each character is an absolute masterpiece! Oh, you absolutely MUST check the Marauders edits, I beg. They are so so incredible and make you get even more immersed into the Harry Potter world even if they are painful AF. You're going to learn how literally THE WHOLE HP fandom has collectively chosen specific actors for young Sirius, Remus, James, etc. It's kinda wholesome that we can unite like that haha. I ADVISE YOU TO WATCH >AFTER< YOU FINISH THE MOVIES IF YOU WANNA AVOID SPOILERS! My personal favorites are: The Marauders | HOME - by Bells (all her edits are just mindblowing) The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black | Goodbye @Bellsilili - by LaurenMichelle (incredible creator!) The Tragedy of Walburga Black - by everythingisblack The Marauders Era - Way Down We Go - by ridd.ikulus The Order of the Phoenix | Muddy Waters (@SunnyVids) - by Bells (this one is about the War and is soul-gripping)
Since they announced the HBO adaptation of this series, season 3 is the one I'm the most excited about. They left SO MUCH out of this movie that I can't wait to see it on screens.
I still can't believe we will actually get it. I am very hopeful that budget makes series justice. PoA and GoF have potential to be all-time best TV seasons.
@@thewingedone1172 I really believe in HBO! They gave us Game of Thrones, House Of The Dragon, The Last Of Us... They don't start a project if they don't have the intention of making it the best it can be.
Pettigrew escaping will have major consequences. Remember when Professor Trellawney went into that "possessive state"? Well, she is a Seer that was her making a prophecy about the servant that brayed his friends being reunited with the master. Yeah... that prophecy came to be at the end of this movie: she said that the servant would return at that night, and he did... Pettigrew is the servant that betrayed his friends and would return to the master.
Fun fact: The Marauders are four students who made The Marauder's Map and the four Marauder Members are: Moony: Remus John Lupin Prongs: James Potter Padfoot: Sirius Black Wormtail: Peter Pettigrew And each members are Animagus (can turn into animals) aside from Remus and each member transforms into different animals: James Potter: Stag Sirius Black: Dog Peter Pettigrew: Rat And if you didn't notice, Harry's patronus is also a stag. The reason they're Animagus was so Remus doesn't feel lonely during his time as a werewolf and also so that Remus' werewolf can play with them while they're animals so he doesn't scratch himself, and the reason why he scratches himself is cause the werewolf can't hunt anything and the reason for that is cause Remus goes to the Shrieking Shack to transform there so he can trap himself in there so he doesn't hurt anyone whilst he's a werewolf, hence the scratching himself part (it's also the reason why he has a lot of scars on his face and all over his body). If anybody has any questions feel free to ask me, I'd be happy to answer a few questions about The Marauders, i don't know everything about them of course but I'll try my best to answer 😁
@@jidhindharanm.p9351 yup, the Whomping Willow is planted by Dumbledore so students won't be able to enter the Shrieking Shack in case a werewolf Remus is in there
The Dementors were actually JK's very clever metaphor for depression, that's the chocolate helps after a Dementor attack, cause of the dopamine we get from sugary food. 😊
and what about the hypogriph? its a word play on hypocrties who are easily offended which is an ugly character trait and prideful. she plays on religion non stop
and what about the title of the first chapter of book 1? "the boy who lived" it could mean harry survived voldemorts attempt to kill him or it could mean that harry was the main protagonist he is the boy who actually lived a life, he has notoriety fame glory in all of the books hes the main character and all the lights on him. He actually lived a life when other people dont even have lives she is hinting that to be alive doesnt mean your actually living, there are walking zombies on earth that we must resist becoming.
It's never explained in the movies, but Time is FIXED in HP. The way it happened, is the way it'll ALWAYS happen. If you go back in time to do something, then that means you always did, and always will.
The Whomping Willow was planted for Lupin when he was a Hogwarts student and the Shrieking Shack was made for him too. He got bit out of revenge as a kid by a werewolf and the transformation is extremely painful. There's no way for them to stop but they can take Wolfsbane Potion to help with the pain and calm them down. Before the full moon Lupin would take the secret passageway in the Whomping Wilow to go into the Shrieking Shack so he could be alone. James, Sirius, and Peter didn't want him to feel so alone so they became illegal Animagi to keep him company
Aunt Marge is not Harry's Aunt, she's Dudley's aunt because she's not another sister of petunia and Lily's. She's the sister of Vernon hence she treats him like a house elf
It was mentioned he had to call her Aunt, but she was worse than the others. She wanted Harry around all the time so she could verbally abuse him and once let her dog chase him up a tree and refused to call him off until past midnight.
The way the time turner works(or at least seems to work) in this movie is that if you go back in the past, then you've always gone back in the past. There are no changes. There is one set timeline that would have always involved you going into the past and doing whatever you do
Fun fact about that final scene with Harry receiving his Firebolt, due to a connection with a friend of my family I actually have the script used by Devon Murray (Seamus's actor) signed by the main trio.
Prisoner of Azkaban is my personal favorite, so i def wouldn't say they keep getting better but my 2nd and 3rd and 4th favorites are yet to come so the next ones are still pretty awesome. But this one is special with the age jump and time travel done so well.
The thing about the Harry Potter books is that the author, JK Rowling originally wrote the series for adults. It was the book publishers that decided to advertise it as children's books. If you read between the lines of the story you will see it is a satire. First, one has to understand that you the reader are looking at the story through Harry Potter's point of view as he grows up throughout the years at Hogwarts. In the first book and movie Harry is 11 years old so you see his world from his 11 year old mindset and maturity. But as he grows up and begins to understand things more and more the story gets darker and less innocent as he matures with age. The reason I call the books a satire is that many of the stories deals with racism of a different kind and political corruption. Dobby might be a house elf but nevertheless he is a slave just the same. There might not be any racism in the wizarding world against people of color but there is racism against wizards who do not come from pure magical families. Harry doesn't see the horrible similarities between the wizarding world and the muggle world at this point because he is only 12 years old during The Chamber of Secrets. To a certain extent he is still an innocent little boy. But now he is turning into a teenager by the time of The Prisoner of Azkaban and he is slowly maturing while still suffering your typical teenage angst and rebellious anger. Which is why the story turns darker and is now loosing its innocence. 🏰🧙♂️🧙🏻♀️🧒🪄⚡️📚📽🎞🖤
Now I understand the werewolf guy Remus when he looked at the fear thing it turned into a full moon as he’s a werewolf and he fears transformation the most 😅😅
The story I’ll share about the origins of Dementors is a shorter version that dates back BEFORE Hogwarts.❤Îlyius was a young orphan wizard who, according to an ancient story, single-handedly saved his village from a Dark wizard & his army of Dementors with his mouse Patronus. His mouse Patronus was capable of producing an incredibly strong corporeal form; a Patronus in the full form of a mouse. His Patronus, despite its small size, was powerful enough to banish an entire army of Dementors, shining so brightly, he amazed with fellow wizarding neighbours with his exceptional skill According to legend, Illyius was a shy, penniless orphan who lived a very long time ago in a wizarding village in the mountains. The hamlet was surrounded by a thick forest, where a Dark wizard, Raczidian, resided in a black castle guarded by Dementors. For many years, a sort of truce existed between Raczidian and the people of the village, with Raczidian leaving the villagers alone, and the villagers staying out of the part of the forest where his fortress was located. However, realising the danger that Raczidian's Dementors posed, the villagers duly taught the Patronus Charm to every generation. While not everyone was able to master the spell, there were always just enough Patronuses to ensure that, in the event Raczidian ordered an attack, the village would be protected. Thus, when Illyius reached the age of 17, the village elders showed him and the village's other young witches and wizards how to cast the Patronus Charm. Illyius was able to produce a full corporeal Patronus, but to his humiliation, it took the form of a mouse. Having never seen such a puny, feeble-looking Patronus before, everyone laughed at Illyius, and the village elders instructed him never to use the spell again. A short time thereafter, Raczidian took notice of Eliana, a beautiful young girl who lived in the village (who Illyius had never spoken to due to his shyness), while she was out picking berries in the forest. Deciding that she would make an ideal wife, Raczidian sent a demand to her parents, but they refused to consent to the marriage. Raczidian then threatened to send his Dementors to destroy the village unless they delivered Eliana to him. The village elders had a meeting and agreed to put up a fight. Eliana was sent to Illyius's tiny shack, and Illyius was ordered to sit out the battle and keep her company, as his Patronus was thought to be too weak to be of any use. At first, the villagers managed to hold back the torrent of Dementors that attacked the village with their Patronuses (which included bears, wolves, and wild boars), but gradually the sheer number of foes began to overwhelm them. The Patronuses grew faint, and the spellcasters collapsed, or fled for their lives. Eliana begged Illyius to do something. So he cast the Patronus Charm, and despite its diminutive size, the mouse shone with a brilliant light, bringing the Dementors to a halt as it nimbly moved through the ranks of fleeing villagers. Enraged, Raczidian decided to enter the fray himself, and tried to summon a Patronus to ward off Illyius's mouse. However, he failed to remember that only the pure of heart can produce a Patronus, and thus for the first time in history, it was revealed what happens when a competent but unworthy wizard or witch attempts the spell. Maggots shot out of Raczidian's wand and quickly devoured him as they engulfed his entire body. The villagers hailed Illyius as a hero. He married Eliana and had a long happy life and from that day the most esteemed Patronus in the village was the swift nimble mouse. Illyius was noted for his extreme shyness. He often found himself tongue-tied and unable to speak to others. However, he also seemed to have been very resourceful, as he was able to survive on his own without his parents. He also had advanced magical abilities, as he was able to produce a full corporeal Patronus when others could not. Given the strength of his Patronus charm, he likely had much happiness inside him despite his difficult life as an orphan. He was also remarkably courageous despite his shyness, and fought against and defeated an entire army of Dementors himself, saving his entire village. There also was a part where the mouse size had something to do with being able to sneak through the castle etc, avoiding sight completely.
A patronous is a positive force which defends a wizard from demontors and is also used to send messages. Corporeal patronous have a shape of an animal and others doesn't
For your benefit youll need to watch the final movies in the extended cuts. You'll be glad you got the closure they give you! And or from now on I'd recommend the rest be in the extended though. But above all the last 2 should be that's for sure.
Some Fun facts that the movie left out: Some time after harry took lessons and mastered the Patronus with professor Lupin, he brought his wand to his next quidditch match in case another Dementor attacked. Although it was a clear day, a Dementor flew to him and he casted his first full form Stag Patronus to fight against it. It was later found out that it was Malfoy and his gang disguised as a Dementor. After Lupin found out Harry had the Marauders Map, he revealed that they were the Marauders Moony(Lupin), Wormtail(Pettigrew), Padfoot(Sirius), and Prongs(James a.k.a. Harry's dad). And later they told Harry that Sirius, Wormtail and James all decided to become an Animagus to accompany Lupin during his painful and struggling time as a werewolf every full moon of the month during their stay at Hogwarts.
I just noticed something I hadn't before - in the hippogriff scene - everyone steps back, and Neville ducks behind the rock LOL. And you guys pointed out something I hadn't noticed before either when the black haired guy said 'the guy's getting mummified?!' in the right hand side of the screen as the time turner took them into the past lol.
1:17:14 yeah, the time travel in this movie is kinda weird funny The way I understand it, they did succeed at saving Buckbeak the first time around--- in the scene where he originally gets executed, we never actually see him get chopped, and as far as I remember, we don't ever really revisit the conclusion of that situation (Buckbeak's disappearance, him saving Harry and Hermione from werewolf Lupin, and him flying off with Sirius) So Harry and company don't know that his 'future' self and Hermione did in fact save Buckbeak Even though, in the scene, it looks like they're watching from afar, it's possible they didn't actually have Buckbeak in view when the Executioner swung his weapon... so they just saw the Executioner swinging it out of frustration and assumed Buckbeak had been killed? I wonder how this all was explained in the books Maybe someday I'll read it
I only recently learned John Williams also did the music for this movie before leaving. I always thought he dropped off after Chamber of Secrets, especially with how different of a tone the music is in this film. But my god, it's so perfect, it's not really any surprise it was him....but even then I'm still impressed with some of the themes he came up with. Easily his best work in the series. Chamber has some absolute bangers too, though.
a fun fact about the end credits - there is some footsteps accompanying the credits as you saw... There is a suspiciously positioned pair of footprints, a little nsfw easter egg for the adults paying enough attention XD
Loosely translated Expecto Patronum means "I wish my patronus (guardian) charm to appear to help me". Every wizard and witch has their own animal that appears when they produce the Patronus charm. Harry`s father James had the same Patronus charm as Harry: A Stag! That`s why he thought, he saw his father. His mom`s Patronus charm was A Doe!
Did you know there are actually two Indian students Parvati and Padma Patil in hogwarts? The girl whose boggart turned to snake was parvati. They have more screen times and mentioned more in next movies! Enjoy
The thing about the "Marauders Map" is that it was created by Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew) Mooney (Professor Lupin) Padfoot (Sirius Black) and Prongs (Harry's father, James Potter) I also don't think that it was a coincidence that the map ended up with the Weasleys, as they were some of the Potter family's closest friends..
It is mentioned in book that after voldemort came in Hogwarts to assume post as DADA professor and also to hide his hocrux, he cursed this post for every one that a person who only remain on this post for 1 year only and then he would resign or die etc when he was denied post by dumbledore as he was the headmaster at that time after replacing armando dippet
its so refreshing to see people who dont know the story watch the movies ????? ive always seen to movies after reading the books so this new perspective is so NICE haha love the videos x
56:45 and on... old but brilliant trick. Make people really focus / zoom in on something, and then plant a jump scare. Works every time! Heck, I would say it worked for me, though I've seen the movie numerous times. :D Gotta LOVE A. Cuaron's work as a director overall, even though super fans will complain he did not put all the back stories into the movie - but such a good job with the plot twists, dark hints and overall atmosphere! This 3rd part could have been made by Tarantino and del Toro together... and to think this is actually the movie that actually ends "happily", as in, without someone getting killed. I'll say no more though.
Great reaction guys! As usual! Is it just me or is the guy in yellow saying “woldy” ! Or the correct way “Voldy”? 😂 Can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest!
It never fails to amuse me when people are so sympathetic or approving of Hermoine's actions at Professor Trelawney's ramblings, yet say nothing about her own dismissive mockery of Trelawney and her classes.
if you look carefully, when lupin shields harry from the dementor boggart, it turns into a full moon before lupin turns it into a balloon - he’s afraid of the moon, a clue about him being a werewolf
This is Not a spoiler. This is from The Prisoner of Azkaban book. Sirius Black is what you call an Animagus. A person that can magically change into an animal any time they feel like. Just like Professor McGonagall can change into a cat and back into human form at will, Sirius Black can change into a dog. There are no potions involved in the transformation. The only potion involved only happens when you first want to gain the ability to be able to do so. From my understanding it takes an enormous amount of time and work that partly includes holding a mandrake leaf in one's mouth for a month I think. If I recall right, the animal form that you take when you become an animagus depends on your personality. You can't really choose how you look like. Professor Remus Lupin on the other hand is a werewolf and therefore has no control over his change that happens only when there is a full moon. He can partly control it by taking a special potion but it still takes a lot out of him. Hence why he was constantly missing classes every now and then. When Harry Potter's father was a student at Hogwarts he and Sirius befriended Remus. Peter Pettigrew also joined the friendship. Because they knew about Remus' condition James, Sirius and Peter decided to become animagus so that they can be with Remus while he was in his werewolf form. Werewolves don't hurt what they think are other animals. The four best friends called themselves The Murrarders and they were the ones who invented the magical map that the Weasley twins gave Harry. Plus the names on the map "Padfoot, Mooney, Wormtail and Prong" were their nicknames in school. The nicknames referred to the shape they would take. Remus Lupin is Mooney because he is the werewolf. Sirius Black is Padfoot because his animagus form is a dog. Peter Pettigrew is Wormtail because he takes the shape of a rat. And James Potter (Harry's father) was Prongs because he took the form of a stag. 🐺🐶🐀🦌 Mischief Managed! 🪄📜😉
The song the frog chorus is singing when the students arrive at Hogwarts is the speech /soliloquy the witches gave the first time they met Lord Macbeth.
2:31 I watch Dragonball with my family with that exact looking TV too😂😂 my parents also like to watch Dragonball😆 glad you mentioned that, just reminisce old memories💜
Random thought, I feel like the true form of a Boggart should be known, because I feel like at some time someone's fear is the Boggart itself, but that's just me doing thought experiments...
8 years ago, i personally ranked prisoner of azkaban as my least favorite, but it has, thus far climbed to my 3rd favorite as i grew older, i'm glad you guys enjoyed this as much as us fans did! can't wait for y'all to see the fourth one!
Professor Trelawney was FAR more accurate than people realized. She sensed that Hermione was "in the beyond"....well she was. She had been shifting between space and time with the time turner...beyond the reach of our normal reality
Harry Po-ah and Photter is good! Yup, the reason why Harry was able to conjure such a strong Patronus on the lake is because he was happy he found Sirius and imagined he will live with him instead of Dursleys.
There is so much about the previous generation and their story in the books than in the movies. James, Lilly, Remus, Sirius, and Peter were like best friends in Hogwarts. Lily and James have a great love story. They went to school with Snape and many other adult characters in the movies. I wish so much we had gotten more books about their era. James, Remus, Sirius, and Peter called themselves the marauders. they made the marauders' map together. Their nicknames are on it. James is Prongs because his patronus is a stag. Remus is Moon because he's a werewolf. Sirius is Padfoot because his animagus is a dog. And Peter is Wormtail because his animagus is a rat. Peter's betrayal would have been devastating given their long history. And not only did he betray his friends, but he set up his other friend to take the fall. He was even a Gryffindor and yet he's such a coward. A lot of people who didn't read the books tend to think that by the way Lupin talked about Lily, he had loved her, but they were honestly just such amazing friends. All of them. It's really very sad.
BTW, think of the names on the "front print" of the map. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs -- moony>Lupin, wormtail> that's obvious, Padfoot > serieous, and Prong... that one I don't know but... yeaaa....
here's something for you, did you know the marauders map was made by sirius, remus, peter and james (harry's father). Mooney (remus), wormtail (peter), padfoot (sirius) and prongs (james).
I have seen so many people reacting to HP movies, but you guys are the first ones to realise that Lupin was one of few people who called Voldemort by his name. As at that time people were still afraid of taking his name.
But people expect that he’s dead but are still scared in case he’s not
Probably because the guy at the top has already seen all the movies. Duh?
They were also very few that didn't catch on him being a werewolf the moment Snape taught the class.
Ron is secretly a talented diviner
I never even thought about that, and I've been a HP fan since the beginning...
So glad y’all enjoyed the scene with Aunt Marge so much LOL that scene is a cinematic masterpiece
@@themystical3282 yes the Knight Bus too for sure!! All the introductory scenes for the third movie are so good
Making we wish they adapted all the other Dursley scenes as well.
Yes, the madness and the cuckoo clock! And Dudley still can't stop eating. :) This was such a great grotesque parody, almost its own genre!
I honestly wish they'd do a TV show about the Marauders, with Lily and Severus, detailing all their adventures and their friendship.
Anyone realize the spell Ron tried to put on scabbers in the first movie didn't work because he isn't actually a rat?
And that also wasn't a real spell, and it wouldn't work on real rat anyway... Probably.
when perfectly casted, a patronus charm takes the form of an animal who represents the wizard.
Despite the fact that Animagus process takes months and extremely diffcult to achieve, all of them, including Pettigrew, managed to achieve it, without government knowing it, and while studying in school still (I belive they also did it extremely early to keep company for Remus when he turns into a werewolf)
Marauders could've been greatest wizards of their age.
(21:30) Neel: I'm telling you i'll be the greatest prankster in a school full of wizards.

This is the one scene that I could never get over. Snape swinging his arms around to instinctively save Harry and co. 😭
I remember when I was 9 years old and I saw this scene for the first time, I also thought it was strange in a good way.
everytime i miss snape, i always rewatch this part just for that snape scene

The virtues of re-watching! I am also still picking up on some things almost every time... what masterclass of acting this was from almost everyone involved. No wonder the kids took a considereble step also with each new movie.
56:47 when your casually watching Harry Potter but then became a Horror movie with jump scare 😅😂
The surviving Muggles who witnessed the event were pretty certain they saw Sirius murder their twelve companions and Pettigrew with the curse, and Fudge claimed to have seen Sirius laughing maniacally at the scene of the crime.""
“I persuaded Lily and James to change to Peter at the last moment, persuaded them to use him as Secret-Keeper instead of me… I’m to blame, I know it… The night they died, I'd arranged to check on Peter, make sure he was still safe, but when I arrived at his hiding place, he’d gone. Yet there was no sign of a struggle. It didn’t feel right. I was scared. I set out for your parents’ house straight away. And when I saw their house, destroyed, and their bodies… I realized what Peter must’ve done… what I'd done…”
- Prisoner of Azkaban, chapter 19, The Servant of Lord Voldemort
Unfortunately, none of this is revealed in the movies.

E mesmo deixando tanta coisa de fora, temos o melhor filme da série!
Agree. And in my head Shaun Evans from Endeavour or Louis Hofmann who played Sebastian in Land of Mine would be great as Lupin.
Fun fact: The Marauders are four students who made The Marauder's Map and the four Marauder Members are:
Moony: Remus John Lupin
Prongs: James Potter
Padfoot: Sirius Black
Wormtail: Peter Pettigrew
And each members are Animagus (can turn into animals) aside from Remus and each member transforms into different animals:
James Potter: Stag
Sirius Black: Dog
Peter Pettigrew: Rat
And if you didn't notice, Harry's patronus is also a stag.

His Patronus, despite its small size, was powerful enough to banish an entire army of Dementors, shining so brightly, he amazed with fellow wizarding neighbours with his exceptional skill
According to legend, Illyius was a shy, penniless orphan who lived a very long time ago in a wizarding village in the mountains.
14:34 “Ron Ron dont forget the plot”
A patronous is a positive force which defends a wizard from demontors and is also used to send messages. Corporeal patronous have a shape of an animal and others doesn't
I can't wait for you guys to watch Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire! It'll be so much fun
For your benefit youll need to watch the final movies in the extended cuts. You'll be glad you got the closure they give you! And or from now on I'd recommend the rest be in the extended though. But above all the last 2 should be that's for sure.
This is my personal favourite part in novels as well as the movies, this one and fourth part too.
Some Fun facts that the movie left out:
Some time after harry took lessons and mastered the Patronus with professor Lupin, he brought his wand to his next quidditch match in case another Dementor attacked.
And you guys pointed out something I hadn't noticed before either when the black haired guy said 'the guy's getting mummified?!' in the right hand side of the screen as the time turner took them into the past lol.

yeah, the time travel in this movie is kinda weird funny
The way I understand it, they did succeed at saving Buckbeak the first time around--- in the scene where he originally gets executed, we never actually see him get chopped, and as far as I remember, we don't ever really revisit the conclusion of that situation (Buckbeak's disappearance, him saving Harry and Hermione from werewolf Lupin, and him flying off with Sirius)
So Harry and company don't know that his 'future' self and Hermione did in fact save Buckbeak
Even though, in the scene, it looks like they're watching from afar, it's possible they didn't actually have Buckbeak in view when the Executioner swung his weapon... so they just saw the Executioner swinging it out of frustration and assumed Buckbeak had been killed?
I wonder how this all was explained in the books
Maybe someday I'll read it
I figure out that the big reason Harry wasn't allowed to go to Hogsmeade had more to do they professors not wanting Harry to be hurt by Black.
Finally been waiting it for a long time. This movie is a cinematic masterpiece alongside the music is so good
I only recently learned John Williams also did the music for this movie before leaving.
I still listen to Double Trouble almost everyday, specially now that it's getting cold here in Brazil
a fun fact about the end credits - there is some footsteps accompanying the credits as you saw... There is a suspiciously positioned pair of footprints, a little nsfw easter egg for the adults paying enough attention XD
Keen eyes! :]
Came here for Neil and discovered another nice reaction UA-camr love to see it
Did you know there are actually two Indian students Parvati and Padma Patil in hogwarts? The girl whose boggart turned to snake was parvati. They have more screen times and mentioned more in next movies! Enjoy
Except in the book, Parvati's boggart was a mummy, and Padma was a Ravenclaw.
The thing about the "Marauders Map" is that it was created by Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew) Mooney (Professor Lupin) Padfoot (Sirius Black) and Prongs (Harry's father, James Potter)
I also don't think that it was a coincidence that the map ended up with the Weasleys, as they were some of the Potter family's closest friends..
Major spoiler in here delete it
Just imagining how much Sirius had to suffer those 12 years in Azkaban... Makes me so sad.
its so refreshing to see people who dont know the story watch the movies ????? ive always seen to movies after reading the books so this new perspective is so NICE haha love the videos x
you can hear the rat walking in the corridor when it shows Pettigrew crossing his path
This one was directed by Alfonso Cuaron, and has been the best adapted ever from all saga.
Great stuff!
Hope you will react to the reunion after you finish all the movies!
56:45 and on... old but brilliant trick. Make people really focus / zoom in on something, and then plant a jump scare. Works every time! Heck, I would say it worked for me, though I've seen the movie numerous times. :D
Gotta LOVE A.
Its 2.56am where im from and i jusg finished watching this.. you guy's are legends
new zealand?

Great reaction guys! As usual! Is it just me or is the guy in yellow saying “woldy” ! Or the correct way “Voldy”? 😂 Can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest!
It never fails to amuse me when people are so sympathetic or approving of Hermoine's actions at Professor Trelawney's ramblings, yet say nothing about her own dismissive mockery of Trelawney and her classes.
this is why this movie is my fav out of the harry potter movies.
if you look carefully, when lupin shields harry from the dementor boggart, it turns into a full moon before lupin turns it into a balloon - he’s afraid of the moon, a clue about him being a werewolf
The story line gets more mature as u continue through the series.
Can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest of the Harry Potter movies
🐺🐶🐀🦌
Mischief Managed! 🪄📜😉
omg i've seen this multiple times but i've never noticed the dude getting mummified during the time scene lmaooo that was hilarious!!
The song the frog chorus is singing when the students arrive at Hogwarts is the speech /soliloquy the witches gave the first time they met Lord Macbeth.
THAT JUMP SCARE GETS ME EVERYTIME
The last peaceful movie lmao, next time shit hits the fan 🎉🎉
Watching this and a Grainger ad popped up. 😂
2:31 I watch Dragonball with my family with that exact looking TV too😂😂 my parents also like to watch Dragonball😆 glad you mentioned that, just reminisce old memories💜
I've never seen Harry angry. Me: Just watch Order of the Phoenix. You'll see more of that side of Harry there.
'Prisoner of Azkaban' is my favorite movie and the 'Order of the Phoenix' is my favorite book
I really love watching first time reactions to the shrieking shack scene! This movie is great in every way!
The best first time reacting ever
I suspect that Marge is a big reason why Vernon is how he is
Random thought, I feel like the true form of a Boggart should be known, because I feel like at some time someone's fear is the Boggart itself, but that's just me doing thought experiments...
8 years ago, i personally ranked prisoner of azkaban as my least favorite, but it has, thus far climbed to my 3rd favorite as i grew older, i'm glad you guys enjoyed this as much as us fans did! can't wait for y'all to see the fourth one!
The time turner is so OP
here goes my 1 hr 31 mins and 37 sec 😮💨been waiting for this for so long
1:13:03 its a patronous
26:09 AWWWW I LOVE THIS CLASS and i love hagrid even more 🥹🥹🥺🥺
Would definitely be my favourite class if i attended hogwarts
You guys got the best reaction.
3:55 brother he has to re heat every dinner and clean up all day like a slave
Professor Trelawney was FAR more accurate than people realized. She sensed that Hermione was "in the beyond"....well she was. She had been shifting between space and time with the time turner...beyond the reach of our normal reality
Harry Po-ah and Photter is good!
Yup, the reason why Harry was able to conjure such a strong Patronus on the lake is because he was happy he found Sirius and imagined he will live with him instead of Dursleys.
You’re one of the few people who noticed that Hermione wasn’t in Defense of the Dart Arts class, that’s impressive lol idk how you caught that
There is so much about the previous generation and their story in the books than in the movies.
Dude Ron had Peter Pettigrow sleeping in the same freaking bed together when Peter was the rat! For 12 years!
BTW, think of the names on the "front print" of the map. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs -- moony>Lupin, wormtail> that's obvious, Padfoot > serieous, and Prong... that one I don't know but... yeaaa....
You gotta love those Trelawney jump scares 😂
"Azkaban for you bitch" 😂 I love the guy on top!
Don't we all.😉😂
Peak from here on out
here's something for you, did you know the marauders map was made by sirius, remus, peter and james (harry's father). Mooney (remus), wormtail (peter), padfoot (sirius) and prongs (james).
If you watch the credit scene carefully, you can spot to characters having sex on the map
18:10 😂😂😂 our boy Voldy!!! 🤣🤣
not Peter in a glory hole- 💀😭
