I lived in the town next to Gene Pitney I took his kids to school on the school bus when he lived in Somers Connecticut I used to meet him at the post office at 9:00 in Somers I talked with him I sang in the band in high school for a little while we were called the beltones he had such a great voice when we would go to the Battle of the bands he would take very high honors. Someone just talked about the car that he had at the time they saw it in a car show in another state it was a 57 Ford Wimbledon white gold medal flake and it was on by a man I believe his last name was Landry in Union Connecticut We all will miss you and we wish you were here to make more music always a friend Archie

He also was a waiter and a yacht club on Crystal lake in Ellington Connecticut. Where he would get asked to sing a song and he would do so while he was waitressing. I believe he wrote a song for. Ricky Nelson The song was I went to a garden party by Ricky Nelson. I miss him always a friend Archie

Gene pitney did not belong on shows like that , his talent was way above those cringeworthy duo , one of the best male voices to grace any stage , sadly taken from us to early , his voice never to be repeated , what a loss

I guess he did change a little but he got better looking with age & the voice remained the same. Love Gene & he was so genuine & his songs were fantastic. Love to see a clip of Trans Canada Highway if there is one. Miss you Gene but still play your songs.

Didn't get to see this Tv program but loved the moment when Eddie produced a copy of the programme from the tour they did with Gene. I certainly went to that and remember sitting in a hotel bar with Sid and friends from Mike Cotton Sound after the show. Just loved Gene so many happy memories over many years.

Gene Pitney had such a unique voice and he sang those sad songs with conviction. He was an amazing singer and songwriter. Sad he died so young.
