But after being consistently being nickel and dimed because of poor design due to cost cutting measures as the result of quality I’m done providing to there warefair program. Start making good quality cars or just do us all a favor and close your doors. Start being a true American car manufacturer and let the workers produce something they can be proud of instead of the garbage you make them put out the door. It’s sad when you even have to be skeptical even when buying a new car. It’s just disappointing.
Faaacts... Unfortunately I agree 100%. I am sure that our opinion isn't a popular one but it's true... On top of that I am sick of paying thousands of dollars for options I don't want, just to obtain one that I do.
My 2022 F250 super duty 6.7 powerstroke has had this noise from the first week and was brand new. Sounds like something to do with the exhaust vibrating as it down gears too me. Another sound that drives me crazy is the ticking sound, sounds like a manifold donut gasket leak on the driver side (but I don't think that's what it is).... I think I remember this sound on all Fords I have driven, which is not a lot. This is my first Ford, always owned Chevy's....so it has some BIG shoes to fill with the wonderful experiences I have had over the past 20 years of driving Chevy's. Strange how vehicle shortages can force you to change brands lol. These are the only complains I have so far...but not really happy to have these sounds on a brand new truck!
Yes, I was going to say, first thing I saw was a pinion problem immediately. I agree so far...get rid of the entire driveshafts, center support, U joints etc. and that pinion or flange. Ford needs to feel this one via warranty defects !
When I switched my break rotors and pads over to the carbon on my Ram 1500 after replacing everything plus I like to clean everything grease all the bolts do the right job so I hope. But when I first drove the truck it was sounding like metal on metal that I took everything apart. It was just the brakes setting in and slowly the sound went away where now the brakes work amazing and barely get any brake dust on the rims. Bit im always under my trucks looking around making sure everything is good. But that what the warranty is for always take full advantage because it sucks when it's over. Hope everything is good with the truck and always stay healthy and safe 🙏 🇺🇸
How People are complaining and saying the manufacturers built quality is worst than before... I don’t believe that is the case. The manufactures built quality is the same as before, poor... The difference is people are more conscious on their spending. These trucks were 34K to 45k for a top trim variant. Now with all the electrical gadgets offered hiking up the prices; causing customer to have higher built quality expectations! The built quality has always been the same, as before. The problem with Ford, GM and Chrysler is that they do not pay attention to detail. That’s what makes a quality product.

Reminded me of a case where an old corolla design had a problem with their wheel well resonating sounds inside the car. They later sprayed coating on the inside of trunk to stiffen (or insulated) the wheel well wall so that sound stopped.
To help diagnose stuff like this I would like to suggest a gopro and some magnetic and clamp mounts. This way you can attach the camera under a vehicle and drive, then review the footage. It may help to see and hear from under the vehicle what's going on. Hope this helps :)
when my mother had a new 67 chevy impala she told me it has a "kink" in it. I drove it and sure enough when you put the front steering up against the right or left stop and drove over a bump it let out with a loud KRINK! a couple of globs of grease on the steel on steel steering bump stops made it go quiet. grease can be good stuff to silence noises.
I almost hate it when you make a new video. Now I want to go look at my 2019 F250 to see if the ujoints are leaking :). Ford has spent about $2500 repairing my 48k msrp 2019 (custom ordered) truck...one was a faulty windshield (had bubbles in it at 1000 miles), second was the $5 ac elbow that leaked into interior and required carpet replacement. Now I know he doesn’t go mud bugging or drive crazy or pull anything heavy so what gives? I owned a Ford Expedition from my brother in law and so many small things went wrong weekly or monthly that I stopped replacing it and drove it until engine was about to give up at 160k! It’s best to trade in after about 2 or maybe 4 years.
Quality control appears to be lacking recently. I have a 21 expedition and it had to have the transmission rear output shaft replaced a 2000 miles. Not much confidence.
Can't wait to find out what the Ford Hotline says! 1300 miles? C'mon!
They’ll make it the customers’ fault somehow.
This is called customer service👍
That black platinum in the back brings back memories
I have a friend his f-350 2019. Drivers door was stupid loose after 500 miles. Ford couldn't find it. They wanted 3000.00 to repair. They didn't even know. Fixed for free. Tighten bolts
This is one of several reasons I would never by a newer domestic vehicle. I use to swear I would never own an import.
There is no “foreign” made truck that can do what this truck does, bub. 🤷♂️
🙏
Really?? WOW, get out much??
Hasn’t even gotten dirty under the truck yet, lol.
Nice work!
Yes, I was going to say, first thing I saw was a pinion problem immediately. I agree so far...get rid of the entire driveshafts, center support, U joints etc. and that pinion or flange. Ford needs to feel this one via warranty defects !
Regardless of the problem, this expensive truck should not have any issues whatsoever
Yeah I make a grunting sound at about 25-35mph too
I thought you were going to say “sitting on the toilet “….LOL
Awesome Ford quality and only Ford has it.
Nice job figuring that out!
You can't expect them to last forever.
Very good diagnostic!
Thanks
Excellent diagnosis! Any dealership I’ve visited would have said: “could not duplicate” or “within factory specifications”
I'm not your typical dealership and there are many like us that want to do what's right
Honest dealership! Fantastic. Rare, yet fantastic

Wow. Great video. Nice work. Seriously.
Your videos are awesome to watch. Good stuff!!
Scotty says its the wheel weights!! Thank you for your knowledge and unbiased diagnosis on something other than a 90’s toyota
Scotty don't know sczhit
@@FordBossMe Well Scotty knows not to buy a POS Ford, just Toyotas, so I guess he knows something.
@@AcidFlash123 there are way less Toyotas on the road than ford
@@chrisdeez2176 That's because the Toyotas are able to make it home under their own power.
@@AcidFlash123 😂 own a 2001 ford f150 4.2L V6 with 263,000 miles in it and runs like a dream. Just sold my 1998 v8 with 455,000 miles on it, engine was starting to go out. Many times I had to pull a friends Toyota out of the mud because he taught it could keep up with the ford 😭
Im a ford guy but Ill stick with my 97 town car. Just tripped 250000. Runs like a dream. Ford and for that matter Chevy and Dodge all make junk now.
My friend works on Ford 450 at a beer company. You have to get the heavy duty rear and springs. Four new trucks breaking rear or springs within 6 months.
more like these. actual workshop work and procedures. always cool to see. curious what ford will say. id assume given age mileage and price of the truck (ouch) they will authorize you to replace everything and reseal both pinions. lets see if im right. as for the leaf spring, leafs manufactured out of spec allowing slop? could cause it.
Good work, can't wait to see the rest!
The runout on that input flange is crazy high. Nice video.
Super job on the troubleshooting I had the same problem with a 2018 f450 had it to the dealer like 3 or 4 times then I decided to take it out and do some maneuvers with it it sounded like the rear end but it was the isolator pads they were bad they put new ones on and we greased it everything's fine sold the truck recently and I got another f-450 no problems but now I know if I hear that noise what it is good video
Somebody was asleep in the quality control department, provided Ford even has such a thing. That truck looks like a lemon in the making.
I believe that they did away with quality control due to cut-backs?
I can tell you exactly what caused this. The person at the factory that was working on it, and then the lunch bell rang. Lol.
when my mother had a new 67 chevy impala she told me it has a "kink" in it.
Had no repairs on my 2008 F150 nor my 2006 mustang GT (both of which had about 100k miles on them when I sold them in 2020.
And that folks, is why we charge a diagnostic fee. And no, the computer won't just tell us whats wrong.
Good work. I find a rubber mallet invaluable for stuff like this. Start banging on things until you get a buzz or clunk.
That's an awesome find, very good job.
Ford is built tough. Toyota is reliable
Not the 2022 Tundra lol or the front differentials in the highlanders or people complaining about rhe big open grills in the corollas that debris gets through and breaks the ac condenser
Should I keep going?!
@@FordBossMe sorry you had so many problems with your Toyota’s on issues with diffs, grills, and AC Condenser. Thats rare on toyota. And now your brand new F350 at 1330 miles already leaking oil on a brand new truck. So Unluckily you had a streaked of bad cars. Big brand Car companies are taking you on a ride these days to make money on you. Hate!
@@FordBossMe i hope ford made it cheaper to fix. Extended warranty on new cars has went Astronomical sky high prices. 3/36000 warranty is not enough for a $100k superduty work truck.
A truck that new isn’t even worn in. Doubt the driveshaft needs replacement, but the back end did have some obvious runout. Gotta love that aha moment when you find the noise.
Finished the job today...wasn't the noise
It's coming from the transmission
Great work - - outstanding work to be honest!
Thanks bro.. that comes in real handy. Stay safe and thanks again…
Thanks
Rich top man great video and presentation fantastic diagnosis , 😃 🇬🇧
Yeah I need a whole new u joints and driveshaft and a seal for the rear gears and oh yeah a little bit of grease for the original problem. 🤩
FORD 2020 to 2023: "Where quality is job #12"
These car companies have got to step there quality control up ,,shit is too expensive to be having big problems,,
Makes me wanna get a Toyota
Good techs , good diagnostic skills . Can we trust that every dealer service shop has that quality personnel like that ?
Unfortunately no
That's insane on a brand new truck. What's up with Ford's quality control.
Seeing this along with other manufacturing defects on super low mileage Ford vehicles makes me hesitant to order a Ford.
Dude, if you think it's only Ford you are sadly mistaken or fooling yourself. And yes, I am in the dealer repair industry.
@@jen_alanfromchicago53 I didn’t state that it’s only Ford. But when Toyota shuts down the assembly line for the Tundra to fix problems 10x or more often compared to the F-150. You have to wonder if quality is Job 1.
Exactly. We wanted a towing vehicle so I bought a 90s ford F350 and I was hesitant due to the age. So damn reliable. Better than anything else I've had that was newer and had issues
The mod motor did Ford in for me. Never agian, harbor freight has better quality.
Another great video.
Looked it up, can't blame Mexico.
Ford has always assembled all of its F-350/F-450 trucks in the United States of America. Presently, the company assembles the F-350/F-450 models at factories located in Louisville, Kentucky and Avon Lake, Ohio before selling them to US buyers.
Gotta be a Monday morning build. After a weekend bender the install team crews have trouble assembling their stuff.
A little bit of a minor correction that I'm going to give you the Dana assemblies come as a unit Ford installs the assembly that doesn't mean it's getting made in the United States maybe put together but not made
Brother I'm not a mechanic and I dont pretend to be, some things I'll do...just depends on who and what it is. It's nice to see a mechanic that isn't full of shit trying to upsale any and everything, that tries to find the cause instead of "Oh it's $99.95 a piece theres 30 of them" type service lol.
Now i know people will be angry at me when i say this but; I swear to you guys when Fords and some Gms were made in Mexico, there were zero issues like this from the factory
They are still made there lol
@@FordBossMe Mb, thought they we're supposed too be American made ;)
Trying to find weird sounds can be hard to track down.
You are a great detective ! To see the issues with all 3 U joints and fluid starting to leak from front of rear end you caught it. Bet ford says That leaking is with in normal specs. Ford Quality is job None ! good Job
They call it seepage. Dealerships use that term when the pan starts leaking.
good job man, thumbs up subbed
Thanks
Yup when I was assigned to "Squeak and Rattle" detail....sometimes it was quick but sometimes it took several attempts...LOL
Even riding in a trunk as a lot boy drove the vehicle... ha ha ha
Brand new truck…..wow
Apparently the factory had vibration problems. That weight is on there for a reason. Also a vibration will cause the small fluid and grease seepage.
Yep that's exactly what I came up with out of this
Nice find brother the drive shaft looked funny soon as you started rolling with it up in the air and good job on finding that spring slap/axle wrap noise as well
I'm not sure that the spring slap is exactly my issue but I have to start somewhere it does sound like that when you're going to stop sounds like it's bouncing could be the opposite side
@@FordBossMe your a skilled mechanic that seems to actually know their shit and thats few n far between keep it up brother
That's the sound my 2020 Ford f150 makes. When turning at slow speeds. 6.5 bed I got around 3900 . But it only does it when its cold. I'm thinking it's the aluminum body
BTW, the nylon spacer on the springs likely need to be thicker to deal with an empty truck as the axle housing rotates downward during braking.
Same as my F250. Ford was to cheap to paint the axles. I used some rustoleum paint on mine. Brand new truck and I was under it with a spray can. My Mustang GT was the same exact way. I painted the rear axle on it as well.
Thumbs up. I'm curious how this turns out. Nice truck though!
Hell yes awesome information and awesome video!
I say this all the time... but fantastic diag dude. As always

Wow! Good video, incredibly helpful👍🏼
I mean if y'all can't come here and start asking questions instead of being a smart ass.... I'm going to start booting you off the channel and stop helping people
I had same problem with my Ford falcon BA getting it fixed because of the age of the car and costs so I drove it into the local creek & left it in the creek.
Lord knows when we spend that kind of money on a truck and something goes wrong, we all hope to get a mechanic that cares to make it right.
Good video. 👍 hope there's a part 2.
My good old 2002 F250 diesel keeps on keepin on without one repair.
