Such a great video! I have been to Chongqing 2 times now and this video made me realize there is so much more I need to come back for. Loved the moments in the special shopping areas. Love this city so much.
I visited China in September and I found Chongqing to be totally unexpected in its modernity and amazing architecture. Had a delightful 4 day boat trip on the Yangtze which originated in this city. I hadn't realized that this city is HUGE and is the car manufacturing capital of China. Thanks, Slava, for clarifying many of the fascinating aspects of the city.
Some of your droneshots and photography in this video are mindblowing. A lot of Chinese cities are super photogenic, this one with the ancient and modern architecture is up there.
I visited Chongqing city last year, also known as 8D city because its crazy infrastructure design. It’s like cyberpunk 2077 or bladerunner 2046. Amazing city! China is living in the future.
Actually, a lot of Americans "heard" of Chongqing for many decades. The Westernized name "Chungking" was a leading brand of canned and frozen Chinese food in the U.S. for years. When I began studying Chinese business in grad school (nearly 20 years ago), Chongqing was known as the capital of watch making parts. (It was the number 1 source for watch dials and watch hands.) It was a huge city even back then. Great video.
Never in my life have i heard of this city.. ever… which is fucking wild to me that a city with 32 million is unheard of LMAO the western brainwashing worked like a charm, people in amerca really think there no other country similar to America let alone a real function country 😂😂😂
Over the past few months, I've seen so many videos titled about Chongqing to the effect of "The Biggest City You've Never Heard Of" that it has ironically become a very well-known big city! Great video as always though 😊
I am sooo happy you are taking your time in china and not rushing this trip.I sincerely wish you'll extend your visa and stay in china for a few more months so you can cover different themes in Different villages, small cities, mega cities, universities, factories, trade shows, hotels,Train network systems and industries.I say so because you're one of the few channels we trust to really cover china truthfully & objectively without any prejudice or hidden agenda..
Amazing how you managed to capture such a hectic city and made it look like a walk in the park ... never mind the haters tho ! I've never been so inspired to visit China before, but after watching this, this city is def on my wish list, it reminds me abit of Portugal, specially Porto 😊
I'm Chinese born and raised in China, but now living abroad for many years. It's so fascinating to see the China cities in your view. I already booked travel plan to China after Thanks Giving. I will be visiting Cheng Du with my wife. I'd like to thank you for your video tour guide for our upcoming rip! haha~~~
Wow! Ive been in huge mega cities, but this is next level. Even it looks like a bit intimidating, the mood of the video u made makes me wanna go and feel the vibe of the city. Thanks for sharing, and congrats for the nice editing of this footage.
Actually love all the videos. Was telling my family members about these touring videos of China. Going to share them. Love to learn about the country 👍👌
Every time I watch video on China I'm amazed, it's mind blowing how advanced they're becoming!!! I can imagine how is gonna be like 50 yrs? Maybe people flying? Who knows...good for them so much respect for China.. great channel
Hey Slava, was excitingly waiting for this video. I'm so captivated by this city just by what I have seen online, it's so surreal. I'm hoping to be able to visit this place at least once in my lifetime.
Don't wait. We visited in December 2023, fell n love with the city and brought my brother and sister in law to visit April 2024. We plan to visit Chongqing every year.😄
In 2018 my wife and I took the riverboat at Yichang and travelled through some of the most fabulous scenery and towns on the Yangtse river all the way to Chongqing and was blown away by this fabulous city I had not heard of before.
I haven't been in Chongqing for 12 years now. At the time it was already a huge city, but man has it been modernised like crazy. In 2012 we had to walk through the rubles of the old neighborhood we were staying in to get to the hostel. Sad to see the old houses being destroyed.
This video truly showcases how to introduce a region. The multi-perspective shots are praiseworthy, making it one of the best on UA-cam. An outstanding documentary
Great video, Chongqing is one of the cities I've always wanted to go to but haven't. After watching your video, I've decided to definitely go there soon😄
Thanks for these great memories!! Spent a few periods working at a Chongqing College, however it's 10 years since I was last there. But you can never forget the hot pot with your own crate of beer at your feet, or compai chicken, and all the other food. A city of many cities, each different , and all amazing. One highlight was catching the monorail 'subway' to the zoo. Well, to be honest, it's a pretty crappy zoo, expect for the pandas. A great exhibition, and no crowds, not like Chengdu or Beijing. Ciciqou, Hongyadong, and Yangzte River cruise (both directions) are also great memories.
Great travelogue, an eyeopener for visitors to China. I have been to Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian and some smaller nearby cities on business. One day I’ll visit this complicated city to see it by my own eyes.
Yes I have heard of Chongqing before -- about a week ago. That is when "Matt and Julia" posted a video about their time visiting the city. And they showed the "ground floor" shopping plaza that is actually 22 floors up and stood and filmed from the exact spot you were standing. They also showed the Public Transit going inside of that building (which is actually a train stop). I was thinking you almost bumped into each other. Very nice and Great informative Video Slava !!! Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Great! I mean we all visit pretty much the same sights in every city :) No, I didn't meet them unfortunately. It's nice collaborating with others like i did with Hugh.
You can visit Tianjin, another municipality directly under the Central Government of China. This city is more westernized than Shanghai. More than 100 years ago, Europeans built their national style buildings in different areas of Tianjin, such as classical literature and art, baroque, Gothic, Romanesque, Greek, Renaissance and so on. Even the Austro-Hungarian Empire left a piece of architecture here before its demise. For a westerner like you, I think it will be interesting to see so many western architectural styles concentrated in one city.
One of the best video clip about Chongqing I ever saw, and I should say: about China. The author Vyacheslav is a real pro, he exposes facts, does not make stupid jokes, he prepares his shots, asks intelligent questions to people he meets, this is refreshing!
I'm a local from China and the native of xi'an. I was fascinated with your videos (but don't mind it was actually forwarded on the Chinese UA-cam Bilibili). Shall i invite you to experience historical fascinating deeply trip in Xi'an and Shaanxi province if there is a chance? I don't know have you ever been there or not, I just your new fans haha. Washing for your next Documentary video.
I was in Chongqing summer 2008. It was an amazing g city then I can only imagine what’s it’s like now. Been to many cities around the world, but Chongqing takes the cake as the most amazing city I’ve ever seen. Just fantastic ❤❤❤❤
@CoolVision, great video. One thing I would like to point out is that Chongqing was China's capital during the war-time (WWII) after Nanjing was occupied by Japan. Chongqing was the political center of China's anti-war effort. Soviet embassy to China was also relocated to Chongqing as did American embassy and the diplomatic missions of most other countries.
There is no such thing as American Embassy, all American embassy are in fact C!A safe houses for conducting covert, regime change operations, they orchestrated the Tiananmen incident, HK riot and XJ separatists are all funded by the US.
America is so behind. Its almost embarrassing. Don't get me wrong we got some gorgeous cities but wow. These Chinese cities are amazing and so grand in scale its just wow. Would love to visit but I'm terrified of flights over the ocean for so long.
Welcome to Chongqing City, China of 32 million people that lives there in 2024❤❤❤Thanks you so much for this amazing video today’s from Asia October of 2024❤❤❤
Just amazing the city nobody has heard of I spent some time teaching English in China and loved the People and the lifestyle so many BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE in China 😊❤
1st saw and learned about Chongqing on UA-cam in 2024. Prior to that knew it was a city close to the 3 Gorges dam. You've made the best video by far on CQ. Hope to visit one day with my family.

Such a great video! I have been to Chongqing 2 times now and this video made me realize there is so much more I need to come back for. Loved the moments in the special shopping areas. Love this city so much.
Definitely one of the best UA-cam channels.
yes!! together with Oliver dadema who is also a nice china vlogger, a bit small though but quite good videos
I'm 75 years old and never had a bucket list ........ but damn, Chongqing seems magical.
Just pack up and go! Chongqing, Chengdu, Dali, Liliang and Yangshuo is my recommended route for the southwestern cities.
You will fail your diet in Chongqing and get weight.
Chengdu is better than CQ
Shanghai is the city you are looking for.
Older people are well respected in China.
The More you study the Chinese culture the more you appreciate and fall in love with it.
Yeah, everyone who wasn't part of the "Middle Kingdom" were barbarians and uncivilized.
Sadly USnUK govts are pouring billions in churning out anti China propaganda 24/7/365!

@@EXPATditions Very affordable. The cost of living in the West is ridiculous.
@@silveriver9ah yea, i also love to live in a world like bladerunner, truly an utopia
