    I did a video on this monitor 2 years ago on MacOS for the same reason. It works great. I now have a 4K touchscreen but the ASUS VT229 sits beside it and is the best plugin controller ever.

    though... curious how many of the customized gestures and functions available on the Slate you could somehow get to work similarly on this (or any other standard touchscreen). Batch gestures and other Slate specialities, surely not.
    am guessing with the full capabilities that Slate's paired software comes with specific to the different DAWs, there'd still be a BIG difference considering that.
    Not a bad alternative option for those on a budget tho.

      After a couple of years of using this set - I would never, ever swicth to anything else and I don't need any batch gestures - I got absolutely powerful macros from my Metagrid Pro and I'm more than fine with them :)

    Nuendo lack of 10 point of touch support has been the bane of my existence for years... It is one of the reasons it took forever for meet to jump head first into production... my very first experience was killed for productive workflow via touch.
    Steinberg is a grandparent inches from being dumped into a retirement home and left to die because of refusal to accept that younger people demand more options than horses and buggies.

    • @lilsavdabest
      @lilsavdabest 2 роки тому

      There is NO REASON for a studio to have higher resolution. We make music, not playing video games on the damn thing. WHAT would you need higher resolution for? A 720p screen with no lag is going to be 10,000x better than a 4k screen.

    Hey Paul, here's a touch screen workflow that i guarantee will blow your mind. Download the free SSL 360 Link and the SSL 360 application. Dedicate your touch screen to the 360 application. Add the 360 Link plugin to every track in your song. Use a channel strip with 360 Link. The 360 app will display the channel strip controls in a console format that will be familiar to you. 360 app has a transport built in. I'm using this setup with my touch screen and it's as close as you'll get to mixing on a hardware desk.
