Some countries have recognized coercive control as a type of domestic violence & abuse. It needs to be recognized everywhere.
Even where it is legally defined, I imagine that such psychological abuse is still difficult to prove -- especially since you practically need to wear a body cam everywhere you might possibly run into them, or any of their flying monkeys. Omg it's so clear now. I've been educating myself for almost six months about narcissism. I've learned so much. But just now I finally understand the final discard. I remember she lied to my face to get me to let my guard down. After that she verbally attacked me and falsely accused me. At first I was trying my hardest to explain and ensure her that what she was saying was simply not true. I even had proof. But it didn't matter she used it as an excuse to dump me and there was the final discard. Finally came the smear campaign. What you made clear to me is why she did it. Weeks before the final discard we had an explosive argument. In the argument I tried to hold her accountable for lying, manipulating, and I called her actions conniving and demonic. (When she would rage it was as if she was possessed). She knew I was telling the truth so she tried everything to make me feel as if I owed her an apology. Even to the point where a few days later when we were "making up" and talking about the issues she made it see like me telling her that she was "manipulative deceitful, conniving, and demonic" was verbally abusive. She would and could never accept accountability for anything at all. Even the smallest issue she would twist, emotionally manipulate, lie, and rage her way out of. The final discard was because she knew I knew who she truly was. She pretended to be a godly, submissive, gentle, sweet, angle from God but she wasn't. She was a manipulative, abusive, sneaky, hotheaded, toxic, man-hating, self-righteous, deceitful, selfish, gaslighter. I took me so long to see it because I was afraid of being alone and never finding anyone else. I lied to myself telling myself so many times that she loved me. When she never even truly cared about me even a little bit.

I think it depends. Sometimes they see it as a challenge. If you find out and call out their behaviours in the early stages, they still want to give it a try as to them no one should be able “to resist their charms” and they need to recuperate their losses during the love bombing phase where they’ve invested slightly to hook you.

This is why it's important for people not to be codependent, as well as have the self respect and esteem to remove themselves. Narcs need a punching bag. If you find that a person is targeting or abusing you (and this doesn't have to be a romantic situation), step out of the way. Cut them out of your life. I even quit jobs because of this. They'll end up turning on those around them and people will start to see them as they are. If it's a group, they'll start turning on each other, because they need a scapegoat, and they're the only ones left.

At a subconscious level they see you as a equal, they see you alot smarter then the person who keeps coming back , abuse after abuse they see the one who can't be fucked with is attractive at a subconscious level reminding them of his/ her mom or dad who calls them out on their behavior narcissists work as they more you like or show love to them the worse they treat you, the worse you treat them the more they Chase you . Only once they have you then they don't want you. Very weird dynamics. But they see definitely respect you more and not see you as a weak fuck , however they will never admit it because they would be giving up power but , once you know exactly who they are and done with them , they won't even look you in the eye anymore because game over , the gig is up. I have profound experience with narcissists I'm a super empath and I had a supernova event I am their worst nightmare 😂

For everything and anything he used to chase me away shun me. I had a kid I thought things may change but no he took that as my vulnerability to stay stuck with him. The abuse when asked for bare min thing was huge. We used to have terrible fights and stayed seperate but often meeting and on and off used to stay together or try to stay together but in vain as fights increased. The biggest mistake I did was I took all the frustration on my kid and parents who loved me and he always was very good with kid over pampering and showoff. Never bothered about any good future for him but just he needs votes. Now I have applied for Divorce and domestic violence case also. I send my kid to me because kid has turned to be a Xerox copy of him in character and I cldnt mould him for better.Je is now taking advantage of this situation and playing . Keeping the kid with him he is playing the game. He is neither ready to divorce settle alimony and leave nor trying to accept his mistakes and patch up but gg iving money and pampering destroying the kid and making him againste and no hood values nor studies.His plan his neither he wants to settle and leave nur give my kid back and the kid don't want to come back for the torture I gave him . I am stuck and staying alone going insane .He is such a criminal that he knows that court cas will drag and inan very emotionally vulnerable Nd if he takes the kid he will win and torture me even more

I think being an intuitive is the reason my interactions with narcissists are very rare. For whatever reason, I'm incredibly perceptive and can pick up on things a lot of people simply cant. I notice body language and subtleties in behavior and choice of words. I think its like oil and water, intuitives and narcissists just dont mix.

You know i just do that with people,not on purpose though, i just pick up on body language,the way their eyes move,look, the way they speak on the phone,what they are deliberately trying not to tell me. Its very strange.i encountered this with a person i became friends at work. Subtle things said,or not said..😮 behavior is so strange with people.

This sounds like my wife (flying monkey)and her mom (Narcissist). They took my child away and now I can't see her because I'm the issue and I'm the crazy one. I had to hire a lawyer just to see her because we can't be grown up about it I have to ultimately suffer because I don't want to be controlled.
