FOV Video Testimonial

- Video testimonial by one of Randall Wong, M.D.'s patients. "Micheal" had a 25 gauge vitrectomy to remove the floaters. The vitrectomy was performed as an outpatient at Woodburn Surgical Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
Michael's hope was to produce this video so that other's may learn from his experience. Had he seen such a video prior to his own vitrectomy, his decision to proceed would have been much easier.
Thank you Michael, for taking the time to share your FOV experience with others!
All the best,

So jealous. I have them horrible but you make the surgery not look so bad. I've been through hell.
I emailed Dr. Wong once for costs and his team were very good about helping me figure out everything. If i ever decide to have it done, im going to this man. Cheers to you, Dr. Wong!
Thanks! I have great people around me!!! Randy
jealous and happy for you
Thank you for your video! I feel less anxious about my upcoming FOV surgery next week.
Compleat your surgery ?
Hi
Is it possible to have some sort of vertical double vision with a posterior vitreous detachment in both eyes?
For how many years after vitrectomy is the vision stable? How many patients have suffered complications decades afterwards?
Cataract soon after if you're close to 50 and cataract close to 50 if you're younger than 50
Dr Wong, is age an important factor for a FOV? Im 19 and have floaters so I was wondering if I could be a candidate for vitrectomy ?
Hola que te dijeron sobre tu edad? Ya que yo tengo 23 y tambien quisiera saber sobre la edad constesa por favor
Bro im also 19. What about ue floaters? Did they vanish?
@@user-zy8ej6wh8l hey Man, in my case they did not vanish but time has passed and I can honestly say they do not bother me anymore, of course every case is different but with my experience I would recommend waiting some months to see if you can cope with them.
Nice to meet you. I am 25 years old and Japanese. I am not good at English, but I would like to ask you a question. I also had a vitrectomy to remove my flying mosquito. By the way, it is lens preservation. My vision became clear immediately after the surgery. However, after a few months, I started to see black vertical lines at the edge of my vision. It does not jump around in my vision like flying mosquitoes. It is fixed at the edge of my vision, moving in place. Are such symptoms common?
Sounds like they missed some floaters or its the vitreous membrane
How did you take to see better again people say at the beginning you see bkurry and then you need cataract surgery
I'm 32 and been told I am too young to have this surgery safely done. What are your thoughts on this Dr. Wong?
The safety of vitrectomy is the same regardless of age. Considering only your age - 32 is not an issue. Randy
@@RandallWongMD how can I get in contact I live in caribbean
Dr Wong do you find many people with floaters have problems with light sensitivity etc. Halos, streaks, entopic phenomena also?
I wouldn't necessarily call it light sensitivity. Of the symptoms you mentioned, I think glare and halos are not uncommon. Entopic phenomena - not so much. Thanks! Randy
Randall Wong I developed floaters first then about 6 months later culdnt look at them in the sky anymore because it hurt then over a few years all other symptoms mentioned to where I now don't no weather they are a symptom them selves or have cause the brain into these symptoms or visual snow syndrome making an fov even more of a jump. thanks for your reply sir.
Best of luck. Randy
Hello Dr. Wong, I'm 35 yr old, in 2018 I discovered that I had intermediate uveitis. Thankfully after a year of treatment, my uveitis is inactive. However, I developed cataract (complicated) and also have loads of floaters. What would you recommend, a cataract surgery first or vitrectomy (which I have to undergo as I can't bear the floaters anymore)
Kindly advice. I'm willing to visit you in your clinic. I'm from Goa- India.
Shankar
Make absolutely sure uveitis is controlled before having either operation. If your cataract is pretty advanced, I'd get that done first. Randy
Would you perform on a 25 year old?
does a FOV recovery hurt?
Usually not at all. r
@@RandallWongMD Nobody wants to help me up in Pennsylvania.
They say being 41 is too young.
Could you help me?
It's like they don't even care about me.
How is Michaels vision today?
blind
How do you know?
Would be news to me.
