Hey, Mark, I am glad everything is going so well with you. I have had floaters for almost an year now. I can do my job but if I decide to focus on them it is annoying. I have gone to 2 ophthalmologists in my country (Bulgaria). Unfortunately in my country they don't make vitrectomies for eye floaters. They say that you must learn to live with it. I don't know why they are so conservative about the procedure. They expect complications and the need of further vitrectomies in the future because of the complications. I cannot beat the system here. I can immigrate after I get my pharmacy degree to a country where victrectomies are more popular and do the surgery after I settle myself there. For me this is the only option or to simply to wait scientists to invent a new safer method for floaters removal but I don't know when it is going to happen. Maybe in 5,10,20 years... Who knows? Anyway, good luck with your case, I hope in long term future everything will be fine with you.
What was your cost if I may ask? I got a self pay rate of $5300 but I'd say self pay total $6k with consult and being knocked out. I don't want to be awake if I do it. God bless.
Thank you for sharing! How old are you if you don't mind me asking, and how long did you deal with floaters before having the vitrectomy? Thanks again for sharing
I had this procedure done for the same purpose. I am about 6 or 7 weeks post op. I have a red spot and redness in the corner of my eye. In your experience, how long does this last and when should I expect the redness to get better? Also, the area where my eye is red seems to feel a bit gritty. I am worried it could be permanent like a scar on the conjunctiva of my eye or something. Did the redness give you any discomfort? Thanks.
Good fortune to you...I had redness on the corner that took maybe 3 months to fully go away. The doctor I was seeing for follow-ups was not overly concerned about it, and I haven't had any problems since - but I was surprised with the recovery time. I did not see any red spots, so cannot be of help there.
Thanks for reply , my surgeon says they are blood or inflammation cells, he said they should get better as the weeks go on. What do you see in your fov eye now ? All clear ?
@@reecebude there definitely was blood in my eye post surgery that went away with time. It took at least a month...the recovery time for me was longer than what doctors seem to indicate

Thanks for the update Mark. Glad things are working out well for you.

Mark did you ever have the cell type debris ? 2 months in and for the last 3 weeks had annoying black and transparent cells rain down in my eye
