    Everyone prayers to Our Lord Jesus Christ for anyone suffering from floaters. To find a speedy cure that is less invasive. He will listen and help make it happen.

      If you don't mind me asking Tbh, are you diabetic? I had a small bleed about 20 years ago in my left eye that I was lucky enough to be able to have had lasered on the same day. I have been left with a very small "blind spot" in the field of vision in my left eye from some of the fluid that leaked though and am considering a partial vitrectomy to try and get rid of it.

    As you haven't had it done I'm guessing I won't be either, but you do make it sound a little more on the reassuring side then most of what I've heard.

      It’s certainly not for most floaters sufferers, but I’ll explain more in the next video.

    Thank you for your clear explanation. Today i went for my annual check up after a retinal re-tear a year ago and a cerclage some 30 yrs ago in the same eye. It left me with central disabling floaters also complicated by central cataract. Acquity is though 0.9. My optometrist is hesitant because of possible complications due to a thin retina (OCT). Today he mentioned the possibility of hybrid surgery cataract and pars plana partial vitrectomy. I have decided to 'wait and see' for things to evolve. Reading is getting worse as us driving at night so I might be on the going point. The video gave me some reassuring (I am a MD), but still scared.

    Nice to meet you. I am 25 years old and Japanese. I am not good at English, but I would like to ask you a question. I also had a vitrectomy to remove my flying mosquito. By the way, it is lens preservation. My vision became clear immediately after the surgery. However, after a few months, I started to see black vertical lines at the edge of my vision. It does not jump around in my vision like flying mosquitoes. It is fixed at the edge of my vision, moving in place. Are such symptoms common?

    Surgery is what caused my eye floaters in the first place (LASIK.) It is well documented that trauma to the eye can result in floaters. The idea of having more surgery, just for the purpose of floaters, seems absolutely ludacrous to me. Plus I've read many accounts of people ending up with 'frill' and residual floaters after FOV, along with some other visual aberrations. And I understand there is an increased risk of developing early cataracts.

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому +2

      I hear your concerns. I wouldn’t consider it in your situation either. For the select few that it is right for, it would be worth the risk. More on this in the next follow-up video. I appreciate you sharing your comment.

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому

      Hi Saugat. If it’s been 5 years since the accident, then any problem is likely to be less urgent. I can only speak generally here, but I don’t think you have to be particularly worried about getting examined. I’d expect they will check the movement of your eyes to make sure there is no restriction of muscle movement in that eye, check for any eye socket fracture or subluxation (out of position) of the eyeball in the socket. I imagine that they won’t want to treat anything at this stage if it’s not likely to get worse or cause you symptoms. Either way, it’s always better to find out sooner rather than later.

    Hi Martin, I had of the truck to me to remove massive floaters in my eye after I had cataract surgery with the wrong lens put in and then had it explanted with a monofocal lens in. The first doctor told me I had try and the second one that’s an expert in explant and said no you have massive floaters in your eye and astigmatism so he did both and I can see Clara but I have a small bump on my eye with the tractor went into. It’s 2 1/2 weeks since the surgery and the slight bump which looks like a little pimple or a skin tag has stayed the same. When I asked the doctor he said it’ll go away within time. Have you ever heard of this he said it was caused by the vitrector. No gas bubble in the eye he replace it with a saline fluid

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому

      It’s been around for many years but has been getting safer. Floaters could theoretically come back in the future. If you feel that you want to explore it further you will have to research the cost and I advise getting recommendations of surgeons from others that have had it done, if possible.

      A lot of people your age appear ti be reporting floaters to me, so you are definitely not alone. It’s likely that it will increase, but I can’t say by how much or how fast. Try and find a positive community of people with floaters to support each other on social media. It’s important to stay positive about it.
