    I've just had the surgery today on the NHS, the NHS is the backbone of the UK

    So important to ask many questions, personally I still feel it a too bigger step, Iast year I made extensive enquiries into yag laser, now I find Moorfield's private has stopped doing them, if the biggest hospital in the UK has withdrawn that service I'm now questioning why, looks like another year of research.

      YAG Laser vitreolysis is still relatively new and the effectiveness is also still questionable. I’m sure it will be of benefit, although for specific types of floaters only.

    How likely the dark floaters would dissolve after 6 months? Did you saw any patients that accomplished this at your clinic?? My eyes tend to get red on the sides occasionally only from noise to pupil, but goes away if I place artificial tears. Do you think this could be the cause of my dark floaters?

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому +1

      Your floaters may sink to a less noticeable part of your field of vision, I would not expect it to just vanish. The redness of your eyes is unlikely to be linked to your floaters and may just be dry eye.

      @@meyetips I would just love for the dark floaters to go away or out of sight since those are the only ones that are bothersome. I don’t mind the transparent ones since it isn’t as much annoying as the dark ones.

    Can floaters still reappear even after the FOV?

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому

      Yes unfortunately, due to stray fibres falling in or if the complete vitreous wasn’t removed, you may still theoretically get new floaters form I believe.

    I had a vitrectomy, 1 year ago for both eyes. Everthing is fine, but I faced with new floaters in my left eye. Is it possible to do second vitrectomy for left eye for treat these floaters?

      I thought a vitrectomy was where they replaced the with a saline solution. How is your vision clarity?

      @@-shock-816 thanks shock, reason I wanted to know is I have floaters on one eye. I am sighted in only one eye so I need to know what to expect for after the surgery I will basically be blind. That’s why I need to make a really good decision to go through with this. Would you mind sharing your doctor. Also did you get both eyes done and if so how’s the vision in that eye? Are there any floaters remaining? Sorry for being so nosy. But any comments would be very helpful in my decision. Thank you

      @@charris8654 Forget about vitrectomy if you have only one eye. It's too dangerous. Really. Yes, I did both eyes. And I have 20/20 in both eyes. Yes, I still have a couple floaters. But who knows what will happen after vitrectomy with YOU? I pretty sure u can't find doctor, who will accept all risks. Serious. This is REALLY REALLY DENGEROUS do vitrectomy when you have only 1 eye

      @@-shock-816 yes, I know. No one will help me, not even the best top Laser in the US. Floaters are causing me anxiety and depression. But you are right. It’s really dangerous. One retina specialist said he would do it after I complained a lot but I backed down in fear. Plus he said he can’t guarantee 100%. Thank you for your honest warning! If you have any suggestions please let me know.

    Sir My age is 24 years old
    I am suffering from eye floaters in right eye since 2 years.
    I have checked with many doctors but they all says that your retina is ok and you should ignore floaters.
    But theses floaters are irritating me every time.
    theses floaters has put a bad impact on my studies (I am a student)
    Sir please suggest me best treatment..🙏🙏
    Should I go for FOV ?

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому +2

      I think you could look into FOV and have a discussion with a clinic to see if they feel you are suitable for it and ask the questions. This will help you make an informed decision that is right for you. Wishing you all the best Rohit.

      And what is your opinion about Laser viteriolysis treatment ?
      is Laser treatment good and safe ?

    • @meyetips
      @meyetips  3 роки тому +3

      Laser vitreolysis doesn’t need any instructions directly going into the eye, so it is safe in that regard. However, it’s not suitable for floaters too near the retina as that could be a risk with the laser and there are a lot of people who question its effectiveness in eliminating floaters. I hope to do a video on it in the next few weeks, look out for that. Thanks
