So none of these is 'how the dive looks.' Thanks for introducing a new player in the field! What I find interesting, DJI Actions 4 and 5 have the color temperature sensor, which proved to be quite accurate for me. I think with 20m waterproofing and the depth meter, it's more tailored for diving. The app looks similar too.
I always thought the go pro was the best, so glad I watched this video. I am heading to the Galapagos in January and won't be getting the more expensive go pro thanks to this video
I’ve been a GoPro fan for years mainly for dirt bikes, but am now into Scuba and plan to get the AcePro 2 for upcoming trips to Sint Maarten and Islamorada. Thanks for your excellent initial review, and I look forward to your in-depth review😊
I have the Osmo pocket 3 from dii and it's great. I wanted a rugged option too. really looked at the dji action but went with insta action 2 pro because it edged out in low light. Enjoy the new device
I enjoyed the nice comparison between videos from each device. It really helps to choose which will fit my needs and taste better. If I'd ever upgrade from my trusty Osmo Action 3, This Ace Pro 2 is a definite contender.
I’ve just bought the Osmo Action 5 Pro based on your review and couple of days ago and will take it to the test on my next diving adventure to French Polynesia. To be fair the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 looks nice too, but I prefer not fiddling too much around with the Footage as it goes to Instagram anyways.
Thank you! I just started filming my dives with a GoPro and have been very happy with it, but after seeing this I might look at the INSTA360 when the time comes.
Hi, thx for this video. This camera is amazing. I need one for my 1st diving travel in Egypt in 2025. I’m waiting your return with the video in hot water. 😊
I have a couple older GoPro 8's, just not sure if I want to go with action cameras again. I'm leaning more towards a Divevolk for my phone instead. Great video on comparing the key players in the action cameras though.
@@yahelluna3842Straight out of the box. Keep in mind that only the camera supports this, the battery case doesn't. Eventually I got a case for scuba and it also works, but I might still get an upgrade
Coming from a series of GoPro cameras, it would be great to hear what camera the DiveIn team would buy today for underwater video while still having the flexibility to produce high-res stills: AcePro2, X4, something else.
Thanks for the review, some really insightful comments! But I look forward to seeing how it films vibrant corals in tropical waters, would be incredible to see it filming some large marine animals too.
I would love to dive in the Exuma Cays again, and take the Insta 360 mounted slightly above me on a stick. The views and wildlife are absolutely stunning, and it’s impossible to point my GoPro at every little thing that comes into view.
This is quite timely. My GoPro has just given up on my last dive (and I haven't been that impressed) so I think it is time for a new investment. I feel that Insta360 is really producing a good product.
pls pls pls test how long you can record nonstop under water inside the dive case .. pls pls pls... you can just put it in a bucket in water and push record and watch how long until it shuts down the recording...
I dive with my X4 all the time but sometimes i miss a classic one lens action camera but I'm also interested in trying some iPhone dive case, like kcthomasma mentioned. I'm also going to Egypt in three weeks on a Dive trip 🥳🙌🏻 maybe we bump on each other there.
Always wanted to own an action camera! Especially the Insta360 X4! Would be nice to own and use a 360 camera to film my dive/water adventures, as well as adventures on land! 😍
as a diving instructor, this fantastic review is very useful for me, especially because I had big problems with fogging with the underwater housing for the insta x2. Have you tested ace pro with anti fog inserts? Thank you😮
I wonder if this is more a stettings difference between the ACE PRO 2 and the X4 or actual sensor can’t wait for the warm water review asap I want to get my action cam by mid November so I can use it while diving in the Philippines.
Thanks for the great comparison. I've been looking for a replacement for my really old GoPro 4. It still works but the resolution is terrible. I tried the DiveVolk with a Google Pixel with mixed results. Glare and bubbles make their touchscreen impossible to see and use underwater. I think the Insta checks the boxes for what I want in a dive camera: portability, ease of use, and good resolution.
i didn't considered Ace Pro 2, mainly because i want to use it underwater and on motorbike, but seems is doing much better than Action 5 (which is a big disappointment for me so far). I will wait probably for promised software update before I take final decision - thank you folks for making this video, is really helpful !
Wow, the quality of the footage with the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 underwater is impressive! It’s amazing how the camera manages to capture such clear and vibrant shots even in the challenging conditions of scuba diving. Definitely a great choice for anyone looking for an action camera for their diving adventures. Thanks for the detailed review - super helpful!
Hmm… so different footage colors compared to X4. I personally prefer X4, because you do not have to focus on it and on the footage during the dive, which is very important for most recreational divers, but do you think there is any chance to get better results in colors from X4 to get closer to Ace Pro 2?
Please comment on which camera is easiest to start video recording or taking a picture once sealed in the jousing and avoiding videos of the dive boat bench
Gopro is dead... Now I think the fight is between Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and DJI Osmo Action 5. Both cameras are great in my opinion. Thanks for the review
The Insta360 and DJI both have free apps, which are very good so why GoPro has decided to make that paid feature is either very brave or very stupid. We do really like the GoPro 13, but this subscription move was a big no for us. Which camera you using now?
@DIVEindotcom I'm actually trying to decide on a camera. I plan on diving one or two days a month once it warms, plus any for work. I'm leaning towards the dji atm but haven't decided yet.
Ill never support a subscription option. Especially since its underwater mode which is what i want.. I think gopro has gotten complacent because they were the only ones around and everyone knows their brand. Now acepro 2 and dji have stepped in with better cameras
I really love how you do the review for underwater footage!

Not ready to buy a new camera, but always like to see what is available. Really like the side-by-side comparison!
Loving my ace pro! Can’t wait to upgrade next year!
Video quality looks fantastic!
I really enjoyed and appreciate the side-by-side comparisons.
Great comparison! Thank you for putting in the work for this video. Well done.
I just got an Action 5 and love it!!!
I always thought the go pro was the best, so glad I watched this video. I am heading to the Galapagos in January and won't be getting the more expensive go pro thanks to this video
Really great review. Ace Pro 2 is looking great! excited to see how it performs in tropical waters.
Thank you for the review. I appreciate how thorough and clear what settings you changed and why.
I’ve been a GoPro fan for years mainly for dirt bikes, but am now into Scuba and plan to get the AcePro 2 for upcoming trips to Sint Maarten and Islamorada. Thanks for your excellent initial review, and I look forward to your in-depth review😊
Good video as always. For me DJi Action is best all rounder, especially with 16-20 m depth without housing (depends on version)
I have the Osmo pocket 3 from dii and it's great. I wanted a rugged option too. really looked at the dji action but went with insta action 2 pro because it edged out in low light. Enjoy the new device
Insta360 Ace Pro 2 looks fantastic shooting underwater especially with the anti-shake function and good-to-have with the flip screen!
Great head to head review! Loved it
🤞🏻🎦🤞🏻 Love the comparisons and the selfie screen is VERY helpful! 🤞🏻🎦🤞🏻
Great video! Price point and gear is great for this camera!
Great review thank you. I’m looking to upgrade my GoPro for diving and this insta 360 ace pro 2 is now at the top of my list.
What a great review. Thank you guys. It is really helping me make the decision to switch camera once my GoPro dies.
That is a great comparison of the 4 cameras. I think the hand gestures are really a nice touch on the Ace Pro 2. I need to update my camera now.

How did you like it?
Thank you! I just started filming my dives with a GoPro and have been very happy with it, but after seeing this I might look at the INSTA360 when the time comes.

I'm definitely ready for an upgrade! Still diving with my hero5!😮
Nice concrete hands-on review . Tx
I have just an old GoPro 3 black and this will be my next camera for diving!
I have a couple older GoPro 8's, just not sure if I want to go with action cameras again. I'm leaning more towards a Divevolk for my phone instead.
Great video on comparing the key players in the action cameras though.
I have an Insta 360 Go 2. I only tried it underwater for snorkeling (up to 4m). The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is definitely on the radar for scuba.
Straight out of the box? Or did you get the USB cover?
@@yahelluna3842Straight out of the box. Keep in mind that only the camera supports this, the battery case doesn't. Eventually I got a case for scuba and it also works, but I might still get an upgrade
great channel
Awsome review on Insta360. Back form Sharm using Hero 11. Would definately consider Ace pro 2
Coming from a series of GoPro cameras, it would be great to hear what camera the DiveIn team would buy today for underwater video while still having the flexibility to produce high-res stills: AcePro2, X4, something else.
Great example of the top options. Does a lens filter make more of a difference or is the in App processing sufficient?
Thanks for the test. I personally would go for the OA 5, because I already own underwater case from OA3 and the difference is not so big for me.
Thanks for this video. Been looking into the insta360 Ace Pro and DJI Osmo for all around action camara.
Thanks for the review, some really insightful comments! But I look forward to seeing how it films vibrant corals in tropical waters, would be incredible to see it filming some large marine animals too.
Thanks for the review, so many options. Dji our the Ace pro 2 ? Thats a luxury problem, I wait for 1 more month and than take the decision 😁
I would love to dive in the Exuma Cays again, and take the Insta 360 mounted slightly above me on a stick. The views and wildlife are absolutely stunning, and it’s impossible to point my GoPro at every little thing that comes into view.
These are a lot more advanced than my old 8mp under water camera. I think all of them would be fine for diving.
This is quite timely. My GoPro has just given up on my last dive (and I haven't been that impressed) so I think it is time for a new investment. I feel that Insta360 is really producing a good product.
Done , im member with ur channel 🌹👍
The Ace Pro 2 looks amazing, but I think I still prefer the DJI OA 5 !

All my videos on youtube shot by iPhone, but i like insta360 x4
@divein
Did it couple to apps? Like Garmin Dive, so that you could see the depth in the video?🤩
If i put insta360 ace pro in the case how i will see my self on screen ? Its able to move the screen for selfie after put case diving ?
What light would you recommend to use in conjunction with one of these cameras?
does the selfie mode works while shooting on video underwater?
as a diving instructor, this fantastic review is very useful for me, especially because I had big problems with fogging with the underwater housing for the insta x2. Have you tested ace pro with anti fog inserts? Thank you😮
I really like GoPro but flip screen and option to zoom and some other things are preety cool I have to say.

How much correction can the x4 360 perform by comparison?
Time to upgrade to an insta i guess!! 💸💸💸
Good info. I have been looking for a better camera, currently using the Akaso Pro, but the cases leak badly.
I'm curious how people like the Insta software for editing videos

At 3:18 the tank is also overexposed on the ace pro 2

Very helpful review. I think I am going to move away from GoPro and toward either Osmo or Insta.
02:49 The dynamic range of the two Insta360 products seems to be lacking, losing a lot of underwater details compared to the other two products.
The fact that go pro requires a subscription to access editing modes means thats out for me.

Yeah, I’m way overdue to upgrade my GoPro
I’ve been holding out to see what the new Ace Pro 2 brought to the table and I’m glad I waited. I’ll probably be going with that one.
I bought an Osmo Pro 5 - I'm torn now...
I would prefer Insta Ace pro 2 and DJI Osmo 5
is this video sponsored by Insta Ace Pro?
I think that the DJI Action 5 has better colors, and the video quality seems to be superior.
Chinese text = underwater color restoration
Thank you :D
I want to win!, I need this for testing @ 100ft here in Anilao batangas philippines tropical waters
SAD!! still insta have not fixed the issue related to sensor see @ 9:46 - 9:40. this issue is still outstanding in Ace Pro 1st gen
Looks like it's time to replace my Hero 5...
more competitors on this market brings better products
Disappointed this is +$100 OVER the conversion rate outside the US. Now it only makes sense to buy GoPro or DJI. Insta why do this?
