WOW that looks like a good camera 🤩🤩 cheers for that Jim sent me this video to watch 👏🏽 This camera will really suit our sailing channel and the harsh environment we live in. Thanks Jim for sending and Justin for testing 🤩🤩 Just subbed 👏🏽🤩👍🏽
I have used 5 different Gopros and quite unhappy with the "bugs", overheating, freezing up, etc. I was impressed with the Ace Pro ...until I lost it, so will probably get this as well. Watching from the PHILIPPINES.
Amazing looking footage underwater and especially that rocking auto white balance which seems to blow the competition out of the water! I was looking for underwater reviews specifically for this camera and so fun to see you making one on the day of release!! Been following you for a couple of years and you put Dauin on the family bucket list for us. We're hoping to get there maybe even yet this year. Thanks for the vid too!!
great vid bud. I just picked up the AP2 mostly for the low light capability, GoPro is generations behind with low light. I looked heavily at the DJI Action 5 and while it also smokes the GP the low light still wasn't quite on par. I love my DJI Pocket 3. GoPro has been resting on name recognition for a while. They were the king 5 years ago but started getting complacent. Lastly bro they make mounts that you can attach multiple cameras on so if you do any more comparison vids you get almost identical POV and your other hand is free.
Excellent review! Did you apply any post-editing to the underwater videos? Maybe I missed it in the video. I'm curious to compare with Action 5 Pro, but raw to raw videos.
The GoPro Hero 11 is the last camera I'll every buy from them. Just like CH stated, the GoPros haven't evolving enough to fulfill my growing needs. They are lagging far behind in their features and technology. I'm considering the Ace Pro 2 for my next action camera. That was some interesting under water footage.
New to action cameras, if I’m only planning to snorkel at max 10 feet deep, do I even need the dive case for the ace pro 2? What about ND filters? Thanks!
Thank you for the video. It’s very helpful. After seeing this, it does look like the Insta is the better cam for easy use. Can it do 10 bit color like the GoPro? I find that using 10 bit color and native white balance allows for easy color correction on the GoPro.
Awesome review! Some questions. Did you use the low light mode on the ace pro 2 at 40M or other depth? Any observed fogging on Ace pro 2 internal lens from heat as some Reddit report said? Sorry bit off topic, what length hose did you use for you primary 2nd stage regulator? TIA
Excellent "real" test of these cameras! That Ace Pro2 is amazing, especially underwater and that white balance is very good. I'd like to see a video of the Ace Pro2 with a good illumination light attached for use at 40m on a day & night dive. The flashlight helped a lot to bring out more colors but I think a good illumination light would be even better. Will Ace Pro2 cameras be rentable for clients SCUBA diving at your resort?
Just to be sure: did you take the videos with both the Hero13 and the Ace Pro 2 at 4K resolution , didn't you ? Did you also test the Hero 13 at 5.3 K ? If so, is image definition much better then 4K ? Thank you
Almost pulling the trigger on ace 2 pro... only worried about the 8bit codec (what's good a log profile if codec is 8bit, I've been there and it was ugly. also it was 2015, one would hope in 9 years... nevermind). Also specifically in your video, and I'd like a feedback from OP, there seem to be a lot of artifacts in specular highlights like bubbles, like an over sharpening plus purple tint. Look at ->2:286:08
I'll be honest bud, you are getting way too technical and demanding for an action camera. I just want something that's good quality and easy to use, and that's this. I'm not here to sell you on it, it is what it is
I watched a comparison video by DC Rainmaker and just like in your video, your eyes are not visible with Insta 360, because of the color change. GoPro keeps the color real and you can actually see the diver’s eyes when filming under water.
GoPro is actually displaying more of a true to life footage under water, and in daylight, while Insta and DJI, play with the colors to make it prettier than it actually is. I like DJI Action 5 for overall features.
Impressive lighting! I think ill get myself one to replace the old Hero 8. I cant be bothered editing footage other than trimming down to a usable size. Thanks for making me spend more money 😅😅😅

I see a lot of good things here, thnx. The sharpening tho is honestly over the top, way to much. Can this be turned down? cause now it looks aweful. Oh and the current GP killer is DJI ... should have compared the Action 5 with the Ace2 ;-)
I'm so pleased with my insta 360 x3. But after the war I think we have to choose side. Dji and Insta are represents of the Chinese government. Let's not fill their war-chest in a hurry 🙏
We need Ace Pro 2 vs Action 5
YES. These shots comparing the Ace Pro 2 and Action 5 Pro would be so helpful.

R.I.P. GOPRO (2004 - 2024)
What settings did you choose underwater on the AcePro2? Any special editing on your computer did you do to get the great color
Just regular video or pure video modes
Really liked the deep side by side in deep with GoPro13. Mainly film in caves/mines so low light is very important for me 😅
Ya that's one of its strengths
THe insta 360 pro's are ridiculous. They are actually really good for still photos as well!!
I hardly ever take photos but I love everything else
Couldn’t agree more. BTW, great trim and buoyancy!
Thanks for testing it out! Love the shots and can’t wait to see more!
This was the vid I was waiting for , thanks
Looking forward to you comparing with the DJI 5 as they both share the same sensor
Maybe some day

No, no editing

Sorry bit off topic, what length hose did you use for you primary 2nd stage regulator? TIA
I didn't get fogging these times. But on another day when I left the camera on on the whole dive it did a little. Gopro was getting foggy faster
This is a long hose configuration, where primary is on a necklace, second on 2m longhose
Thanks a lot! Have u tried the low light mode to film or the footages were just standard mode?
@jasonhsieh3684 both

No probably not but it's a good idea
Thanks for this video. What Whitebalance setting on Ace Pro 2 did you use? Also, can you point to the selfie stick/tripod you'd use for this clip.
There is no setting, Its automatic. Except for pure video mode, which helps low light. These are just the tripod and stick from insta360

What about still photos with the Ace Pro 2??
Nice video, very on point. Does the selfie mode works while shooting in video??
As far as I know it doesn't, and I told I sta360 that is so far my only complaint. So I'm am sure it'll change

GoPro has other issues too, so they are not my first choice. I prefer Action 5 as my go to action camera and then Insta 360.
did you not use the red filter lens on the GoPro as its always needed at depths?
No
I watched a comparison video by DC Rainmaker and just like in your video, your eyes are not visible with Insta 360, because of the color change. GoPro keeps the color real and you can actually see the diver’s eyes when filming under water.
I'm pretty sure that's not true. It's just white balance, something I do manually in my mirrorless cameras
Is there any comparison video of Ozmo Action 5 vs Ace Pro2??
I doubt it yet, since they both came out this month
Does look so much better. Do you even need a red filter on the ace pro 2 then?
Nope
GoPro is actually displaying more of a true to life footage under water, and in daylight, while Insta and DJI, play with the colors to make it prettier than it actually is.
I like DJI Action 5 for overall features.
Well most divers don't want or know how to color grade videos later, so this is a good choice

Hey Justin, I could lend you my personal Osmo Action 5 for your review if you would like. I live in Dumaguete and dive frequently in Dauin.
Can I use the older Ace Pro dive case with Ace Pro 2?
Yep. I just checked and it fits.
Do we still need red filter on Ace Pro 2 for better white balance?
No
Did you use the underwater mode exclusively on the Ace Pro 2?
No not at first but I might now
Good Video Justin 😊.

Sir Justin can you try the dji osmo next?
Its doubtful, it's not fun buying them just for 1 video

I'm not doing any more. Letting them finish it without filming, since my editor left. Too busy
