2005 Radio Shack 1/10 Ford 69 Mustang Boss 302 Hot Rod Resto & Run

- I take Radio Shacks fastest rc from the 2000's and make it faster. This limited edition rc from RS was a collaboration from Motortrend Magazine and Hot Rod Magazine to recreate the iconic hot rods of the 60's and took two legends the Mustang and Camaro into realistic rc. The Camaro was a 1/6 scale with all kinds of features. And the Boss 302 with hobby like features such as 1/10 scale, 540 r silver can motor, proportional controls, independent suspension. and Removable wheels. I just take a ok rc to new heights with futaba servo, Tamiya servo saver set, chassis modifications, 1060 esc, led light kit, and boost the motor option with a bigger 550 12t 23k rc motor. This allows this toy to hit ridiculous speeds. The only rc I've witnessed to actually burn rubber at cruising speed when throttle is pressed fully. Lays down actual rubber on the asphalt. Nothing but a great time on a rare rc and one that's never been modded like this on UA-cam. This is a full helping of rc goodness with a build, paint, and mod.along with a driving portion. We even get gps speed check. So Please like comment, and most of all Subscribe. Thank you all.
Lovely little mustang. Awesome that it got upgraded to hobby grade.👍😊

Nice upgrades to a very cool looking car! It was scooting out there too! A very and unique one to have in the collection, great job!

@@DustyFingersRC thank you for watching. Happy Summer
Super great vid! Love these!!!
@@fredboylstein8930 I’m with you man. ✌️
This ran pretty great, recently found a Traxxas 1:16 vxl ken block in the e-waste container at the recycling facility here which works fine but needs some minor work on it imo.
Shocks are very soft so might have to swap in harder springs, if not shock oil too as well as a rear right c-hub being a bit wobbly, cranked down the pre-load atm so it doesnt bottom out just accelerating or braking.
Chassis of this reminds me of the new bright 1:6th scale slr mclaren.
@@Mini-z1994 I got to get one of the 1/16 Ken block cars from traxxas too. Hey thanks for your support. Have a great weekend
Awesome machine👌💪💯
@@Fortes_RC_Adv thank you buddy

@@LukesVintageRC idk about that… 😊
Nice resto mod 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@All_RC_Fun hey thanks man
it is very cool.
Thank you
Ooo, that’s a Sector 7 chassis. Stock with a NiMh battery it would hit 24mph. It eats tires though and as the tread wore down, the car became progressively less drivable.
@@MustangsCanTurnToo hi there, so these will do around 117-19mph stock. I’ll post another video in a future episode of a top speed and drag race with gps with stock for short. Remember radio shack states on box 1700ft per minute. That’s 19mph. Everything looks faster than what is shown. For example a Tamiya Hornet tops out 18mph on smooth surfaces. Nikko f10 15mph. The motor and weight is the S7 issue. The motor is a standard 27turn rs 540 mabuchi . RPM is 13,500. Sorry bud, everything I’ve done took a lot to get this rc to do 29mph. Remember Team associated rc10 with their race motor would only do 24 mph. Tires can be an issue I’m sure. As shown it’s easy to replace. Thank you and take care.
Ok after seeing the chassis definitely Taiyo made.
Nope. It’s licensed from Sector 7.
That's a nice-looking Mustang! You know, I never really focused on the non-hobby grade stuff except for the Nikko Rhino. Watching your videos has introduced me to an expanded world of rc that was not on my radar. Thank you for that Luke! Also, if you don't mind me asking, is there a way that I can contact you? I'm doing some vintage rc research and could really benefit from your expertise. Thanks again!
@@user-st8qq1re1k So anyone can contact me on my gmail account or my facebook group too. All on my about me page. Also I post my contact details at end of every video now. Thanks tons.
ashpapass ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
Dude loving da channel.also nice prospeed in da background.that RC was as close you can get to a suped up rc without going hobby grade.u got the 27mhz as well?
@@jacintogomez8755 thanks for watching. Always little teasers to n the background. ☺️
That mustang is impressive.and so is ur collection.dude I'm kinda jealous.lol
So who made these for radio shack? The L shaped servo says Taiyo, am I correct??
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers its possible. The chassis is ok. Thanks for watching buddy
Should go over mods for servo
I think I posted it in description but a Tamiya servo saver is all you need and double sided tape. The stock rods go through it. Quite simple.
@@LukesVintageRC thanks
✌️
I been thinking about doing one of these. Not the camaro though, wayyyy too big.
@@VcArena lol the Camaro was fun too. Definitely have some fun this summer with one of these. 😊
