I wish most people were like this. It’s hard to converse with people with different opinions nowadays. So many people are so quick to get defensive and not willing to listen to different perspectives or opinions. I’m just as guilty of this, especially when I feel strongly about something, but so many conflicts could be resolved easily if people were willing to listen to other perspectives and try to understand those they disagree with. Having a different opinion or view isn’t a reflection of anyone’s character, our experiences in life shape the way we see the world and how we interact with it. A little bit of empathy and understanding can go a long way.
This is true. These men are more together than all those folks who have political disagreements. They have experienced real life and have learned from it. They're not trying to portray an agenda.
When you come to a realization of anything you really love could be extinguished at any given moment, then what's left to lose? Because these individual have forged strong wills and personalities through true sacrifice and struggle. They can’t speak from a place of ignorance or privilege because they don’t understand that mindset
You noticed how much respect, and acknowledgement they gave each other when they first sat down. How they respect each other’s views, and don’t interrupt each other. That’s the type of respect that is earned.
Respect earned by commiting group crimes and adding to moral decay of a nation by corrupting the fragile inner city youth to continue the downfall of urban areas?
The one dude J Nasty who said he doesn't have a high school diploma and fresh out of prison has incredible vocabulary skills especially when voicing/ explaining his opinion.
"I wasnt given no golden spoon, I wasnt given no silver spoon, I was given a styrofoam plate and a plastic spoon and im gonna build off of it" - J Nasty
And that is EXACTLY how it works when you look on equal ground and discuss the hard stuff. You come to an understanding. World peace would happen if we could all sit down, discuss and listen
That's because these gangs are are mutually more friendly towards eachother. Boogalo brought these members together so obviously it's the most mutual of gangs
one of the most civil, understanding, sweetest middle grounds yet. i love how they continually got closer and closer together. even when they had different answers, there was not a single disagreement. this was an “i acknowledge that, and...” discussion rather than a “yes, but...” and i really love that. i hope they do well.
You know why? It’s because they share the same essential worldview. They may be in different gangs, but they’re all gang members with a lot of common ground. Now scientists and flat earthers, Democrats and Republicans... not much middle ground to be had there.
That’s because people who know how quickly things can go left, tend to have more respect for one another and tread carefully to avoid serious conflict.
It’s almost like seeing military vets from rival forces come together. When you’ve gone through the same experiences as someone you can identify with and respect them.
I think that was a metaphor for no matter which color they pick they still go through the same s***and uniting is the only way they're going to overcome this
I love the way they all came together mutually and we’re able to agree or disagree respectfully, there was no sneak dissing or trying to be petty, they shared their real life experience and views, I absolutely love videos like this
They walk in only thinking of clantags and when they start to chat they find that the other clantag is acutally a person from a very similiar background.
I truly loved this episode, they let each other talk, they didn’t interrupt each other, they respected each other even if they were from different gangs.
It's something I've never seen tbh. Actually waiting their turn to speak, giving each other a voice and space to speak and being completely understand. There isn't any yelling over each other or/and clapping hands in each other's faces. This is so undeniably refreshing.
as an australian my opinion is shaped by the media so this video really changed my perception of them, they truly are very intelligent, wise men that have been forced into this life because of their living conditions, i find myself sympathising with them cos they have no other choice. the way they carried themselves here and the way they spoke really gave an insight to the way they think and it truly shows they are real MEN
These men were able to have the most respectful, balanced and healthy dialog compared to every other episode. More often than not the conversations are passive aggressive, disrespectful, and emotionally controlled.
Usually in Middle Ground videos, there’s one or two people who stand out as generally unlikeable or annoying. Not in this one. They were all humble, respectful, wise, and eye-opening.
It filed my heart of joy to see how far these men have gone in life and see them basically becoming a brotherhood, I am proud of them and everyone that was involved in making such positive and informative video. Thank you!
It's so ironic that these guys are stereotyped for literally killing each other, but this was the most mature and civilized interactions on this channel
D Lam 1000%, and I can’t think of any other episode where they all shook hands before sitting down. That speaks volumes about the type of men gangs can produce outside the stereotype.
There is no irony here. Yes, they were mature and civil here. But, the killing is no stereotype. There are tens of thousands of gang-related murders per year. It's simply the reality of being in a gang.
Guy does Random things not everybody puts an act on for the camera, you know that right? it would’ve been just as entertaining if everyone was fighting, but they didn’t feel the need to fight, they had a civil conversation.
@@eyxnos5192 from somebody that knows rich kids and "gang bangers" the "gang bangers" from my experience are almost always more respectful because the rich kids never had to worry about getting repercussions for speaking disrespectfully aside from their parents telling them to watch their mouth where as on the streets if you say something to the wrong person you might get your ass beat and robbed
As a white guy born n raised in Idaho, I learned more about the lifestyle from this group than anything I've ever seen or heard. I literally got choked up a couple times. Newly gained respect from me.
No reason to explain you're a white guy. Learning about others shows growth, maturity, and the willingness to learn about others. That's what truly matters. In the end we're all one race, the human race. 👊🏽
@@JSowder21 I agree. Just figured I'd mention the white Idahoan part to give an idea of just how much different their lives are than mine and how little I know about it.
Every single one of them knows how their words can be the difference between life and death and bloody war and peace. They aren’t looking for an argument
@@ytmndan yeah I mean they're right about some things but rival gangs are brutal if they find out they agreed with the other gang they'll most likely get killed
Richard Nguyen yeah I noticed it too my mom always said that gang members are not human but I always knew that she was wrong cause she is the stereotypical kind of person and I don’t judge anyone by their labels I judge them by their personality. And by far I think that these people are the best kind of people to be in associate with.
Civil? On camera maybe but they’re LITERALLY murdering each other all the time. Those rose colored glasses shouldn’t fool you, gang life is NOT civil. It’s a tragedy.
This is undoubtedly the most respectable, civil, and genuine debates on Jubilee. The older member sits at the center, like giving fatherly respect to him, while the rivals have so much banter and humorous comments about each prompt. A lot of unity, compassion, and ambition in their hearts for sure.
But also notice how none of them are like hella young. Most of them was likely in they late 20s. The only one I feel was the youngest was homie in the white tank top but the others was older and clearly more respectful then most of these niggas nowadays.
This has been my favorite Middle Ground episode. Those guys are all very inquisitive and thoughtful. But most of all, and they each showed it, worthy of respect. Love to all of them.
People are saying that was clever but I don't understand why. I think I get what he was trying to say but that particular statement just doesn't exactly say much. Of course if you had the choice to live for your kids you would, but that doesn't mean that if it was either you or them, you wouldn't die for them all the same.
What wisdom??? His children need him in ways that he cannot commit to if he's still committed to his gang - period. And that's when he needs to prioritize certain people in his life over others.
@@montanadassios1093 Says the person who hasnt grew up in a poverty written envirement and struggled along with your family/loved ones just to get by.There are so many variants to account for.
This I got emotional the fact that they fear the police more, that they don’t want their kids in this, that they feel like they didn’t have a choice. I’m glad to see what this is really about instead fearing it from what’s on tv
It’s because originally bloods and crips weren’t enemies until one backstabbed the other they were originally created to be their own police essentially because of how prejudice the police were back then
Politicians definitely can. It's all a show. Look at Bush and the Obamas now. It's just to keep us divided. They're discontent with each other is only surface deep.
I like how they let the older guy, Skipp, have the middle seat every time. When the statement wasn't true for Skipp, they still sat to the left or right.
"Now lemme ask you something. Those little girls would you die for them" "See the thing is you'd die for them but thats not what they want. They need you to live for them. You're saying you'd die for them but what they actually need is you around to live for them." He said something along those line but my dude- That hit me hard.❤
@@lbo2cdg321 Well that's the difference between you and me. I see the greater good in everyone. Due to personal life experiences with others (not myself). I believe in 2nd chances and bettering yourself and others.
@namrata ghoshal You are part of the problem for assuming they are all criminals due to being in a gang. It is just the setting that they grew up in half of the time. Others aren't as fortunate as us. Being in a gang isn't an automatic "you're a garbage human being" as this video clearly demonstrates. Also look up some public speaking videos on how used-to-be gang members turned their life around. Like I said in another comment, everyone deserves a second chance. Stop being ignorant and actually have some sense and compassion. You can't relate, that doesn't mean they're criminals or "not real men". As 1,000+ others agreed with me.
Isn’t it crazy that the gang members had the most civil debate out of this whole series. Like fr, they’ve had scientists, doctors and scholars and they all acted like children
that's coz those dudes have a know it all complex that compels them to argue for their sides more aggressively also they tend to be put on more objective topics so when someone disputes what is established as a fact, it's really hard to point out how someone's bsing and not come off a bit childish meanwhile these dudes are talking about life experiences and subjective stuff, and they of course understand each other, knowing that they're all coming from different places and they're all just human

@@MattMatrixJohnson From the burbs, but spent my time in the hood , making money and stayin strapped. It wasn't where I was from, but it's where my friends was at. I got with them at a early age and felt I had to stick with them through it.
@@MattMatrixJohnson Oh, definitely. My parents were the all American white parents. They had no idea what I was doing outside of the home, other than school. It was more of a watch The Simpsons and Friends environment. In the hood, with friends, it was a survive and make ends meet mindset. Their parents works late and/or more jobs so they weren't around much. Mine worked the typical 9-5, came home, and made family dinner. I'd show up for that about half the time. Honestly, I kind of feel like it was good to get both worlds. I saw a lot of differences and similarities among white suburbia and urban lifestyles. Outside of the daily struggle, both were vary similar lifestyles. Just, one side had to unfairly work a lot harder to survive and make money. Due to this, I had a lot of people stay in and out of our guest room. Figured if they were helping me make money, the least I could do was provide a safe(er) place to crash.
“Would you die for them?” “Of course” “But that’s not what they want. They want you to live for them but your ready to go out there everyday and die for them when they’re the same people who need you to be alive” This hits hard for me idk why

@First Prep so you're saying theyre not really a gang? would you rather they did less positive stuff for the community and were more violent? i know that's not what youre saying, but you should pay more attention to what the hidden implication of your comment is.

@@MuttonChops24 It's not the same though. Cops and Felons are different to Gang members and cops because cops views on gang members are way different to that of felons plus the crimes committed if at all are very wide in variation between the two to be honest.
You gained a new perspective on gang members?? LOL! WTF did you learn that you didn't already know. You must be incredibly young or incredibly uninformed (or both).
Truth be told its not even that. Its what they go on since they don't know the full politics. Just like how democrats fuck with Republicans and vice-versa. Its all politics
Long story short: Media is the cause of evil, because they don't care which side means what; they care about money, and views mean money to them. We pay the price, and they cash it in. Media loves conflict, because media earns money from conflict.
I know this video was released years ago, but I just watched it now. I can't help but feel a great sadness for what these men have been exposed to at very young ages. The trauma they must be dealing with on a daily basis must be overwhelming sometimes. I pray for their safety and healing.
Funny how these gang members who actually live “the life” are well spoken and able to articulate their thoughts and you have some wannabe going out of their way to sound ignorant. Kudos to these men for setting aside their differences and having this peaceful exchange of perspectives.
Bruh nah they aren’t well spoken. They articulate their thoughts but they only show one sided info. They are consciously restricting the bad to sound better. these are the people who would sell heroine to a pregnant girl, or steal presents from children, hell they’d steal your dead mothers wedding ring if they had the chance. You shouldn’t downplay gang members or act as if they are respectable, people shouldnt idolize gangs at all. I’ve seen many of my friends fall down this hole. I have personally seen people be consumed by gangs. It changes people they become colder, and usually addicted to multiple drugs. Some of my closest friends started doing cocaine at like age 12 and that is because people idolize this stuff. When it is idolized people mindless go into it to be cool, they eventually change and become a part of it. Yea it’s great to listen to their sides but it shouldn’t be idolized.
I love how heartfelt this video is and how honest they are with everyone. Its so wholesome and educating. I learned so many things that i never would have known before if it wasnt for these people and this video. props to all of these people
@@vistyus3563 Definitely not, outside of possible crimes, they are living in the same world as all of us, going grocery shopping at the same store your mother shops at.
As an elementary school teacher in South LA, this breaks my heart. The idea that some of my beautiful students could grow up to be intelligent, capable, empathetic men that are trapped in this life that they wouldn’t wish for their own children is awful. The amount of pain and suffering and tragedy that these men have endured purely due to poverty and racism- while ten miles away celebrities sit on massive mansions and a dozen luxury cars- is disgusting and everything that is wrong with this country. I hope that these men are able to accomplish anything they want to and are able to live long and productive lives.
Just because celebrities are rich it doesn’t mean they don’t go through a lot of trouble. A lot of celebrities work really hard for fame and money without proper sleeping, pressure, anxiety, and depression. A lot of celebrities donate lots of money to charities and do a lot of community service. They gained fortune through a proper channel so the real question you should ask is “how should the government help these gangs?” instead of “what’s wrong with this country that has a lot of rich people?”
Loved this episode. I really appreciate the honesty and vulnerability these men put out together and with each other. Their perspective on society is so important, and deserves to be amplified.

You come to an understanding.
World peace would happen if we could all sit down, discuss and listen
That's because these gangs are are mutually more friendly towards eachother. Boogalo brought these members together so obviously it's the most mutual of gangs

You know why? It’s because they share the same essential worldview. They may be in different gangs, but they’re all gang members with a lot of common ground. Now scientists and flat earthers, Democrats and Republicans... not much middle ground to be had there.
I agree, people see most gangs and the black community as just only violence but they have had the most peaceful and understanding middle grounds yet.
That’s because people who know how quickly things can go left, tend to have more respect for one another and tread carefully to avoid serious conflict.

You have a good heart
Still looking for who asked
diego ceja 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the respect that filled the room throughout the whole video

Moms who left there kid vs kids who never had a mom. I'm 23 years old never met my mom. This would be interesting to me.
