I think that is the most I've seen you rip any quad. Your freestyl'n skills are sneakily progressing
Bad flight times lacks power too heavy sounds terribly bad I wouldn't buy one 😮
Hey Nick, Great video and review of the Pavo20 pro. I'm positive you can do a chimney dive into the living room with this one. I love the protection of your VTX, and since I just switched to walksnail, it comes with what i need to install it. Bunny's? Congrats on your son going to college. Sounds like a typical pusher whoop. Thanks for the video and review of Pavo20 pro
No moonlight 4k support? Have to pass... 😢
nice upgrades, but I really hope that the weird prop size isn't going to become the new trend in FPV... it's going to be wild
kinda like the 35mm whoop prop?
@@NickBurnsFPV yes exactly, now any company is going to make a “not standard” size prop just to differentiate themselves, and we’re going to end up chasing the one store that have the only spares left, while having boxes of other prop sizes
Can we use analog vtx in it
We could with some DIY mounting. Its made for the large vtx of the O3 and run cam link, but analog vtv would certainly fit, but its the mounting we need to sort out for ourselves.
Are you planning on doing a review on the avion rc nexa 3.5 inch pro?
I have the nexa 3, I don't plan to review the nexa 3.5
@@NickBurnsFPV I meant for the new pro version
@@Nik_FPV621 Not sure. I think those are so new yet. If I were I would probably do the 3inch version as its a better fit for my space.
Hey Nick! Which one is quieter? Flylens 85 or Pavo20 Pro for slow flying. I assume the Pavo20 louder because of the 3S battery. But for indoors? I'd prefer the Pavo because of the 3S thrust but also want to flight near to people. It would be the best to have both but I can't afford it haha. What is your suggest?
yes, I agree I think the flylens85 is more quiet. The downside to the flylens85 vs pavo pro is likely the flight time, I believe the pavo pro would have longer flight times.
Could you compare loud noise between Pavo20 pro and Pavo Pico
best to compare for yourself. We all perceive sound differently and I have the same sound setup on all my videos. Often the pitch of the sound is a difference. I don't have a device to test the db level of quads.
hey Nick , better to buy this pavo PRO or flylens 85 ?
for all around flight styles I prefer the flylens85. The pro would be for longer flight times and more stable in windy conditions.
Nick great video!! I really like your fliying. I wanted to ask u if the pavo 20 pro will improve my fpv experience compared with the phantom hd.
Its very important to know that the phantom or nearly all DJI drones don't fly in the same way as the quads on my channel. They are much harder to fly and require many hours of practice and potentially repairing and or buying parts to repair damages. DJI drones for the most part fly themselves, where the drones on my channel we are in control of all axis of flight. The drones you would find on my channel do have a self leveling or stabilized mode called angle and horizon mode, but even these modes of flight are far different than DJI drones. There is much more to the differences but that is the basics. With that I am not sure one way or another if the pavo20 pro or any other quads on my channel would be better comparatively. It would depend on what you want to change about your fpv experience.
Noooo sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant the smart 2.5 geprc quad
Can i buy a version that work with the betafpv vr03 goggles?
no, this is designed to use the dji O3 and dji goggles.
you got the same last name as me
AMAZING!! has it the 3 modes: ANGLE, HORIZON and ANCRO?? or just ACRO?? can I fly with DJI Avata 2 RC ? thanksss
Pretty much everything on my channel has all those modes and more
@@NickBurnsFPVthanks !! And can fly with dji RC from avata 2? How you change modes ? Thinking to buy it …
@@Juacalvo I believe so but again I don't have that equipment. You change modes based on the betaflight configuration which you can change. These aren't DJI drones they require binding and setup.
What do you think about mounting a naked gopro on top of it?
It would take some diy because it doesn't have a native mount point, but we could carry the weight reasonably in a flat flight style, but I think faster more aggressive flight wouldn't be a good idea.
Need one
Sounds horrible too loud not any good for back yard or garden ripping 😔
🤙🏾
Is it better than the Mobula 8 O3
outside of prop size I see them in different catagories. 2s vs 3s. I think the pavo is more performance based with the ability to cinewhoop with better smooth footage in more conditions.
@@NickBurnsFPV Does this same logic apply to Pavo20 over Pavo30?
@@jcsuarez73 yes
I wouldn't fly it just because it sounds so horrible
can we call it Burns style
we could but that seems a bit egotistical. That's just me
@@NickBurnsFPV Burns Flow, from the community to you for all you do. I still think the Burns Turnz need to be made official.
@@amin0_acid310 I need to do that turn more often. Each time I have a video with that turn there are a number of comments on it. Next time I will try to make a point of including that "turn".
You just made me order one! thank you for the great review, amazing flying that was sweet especially from the Goggles🔥🔥
Speaking of 3 bladed props: Gemfan 2032 props work great on the original Pavo 20, it flies so much better with them. At the expense of 30 seconds of flight time or so.
Nick, I'm still in the middle of the video, but let me give you a tip... Do you know those little plastic boxes that come with FCs and stacks? (Or at least they used to come...)
So, keep a few of those in your desk, to keep small stuff. Like one for connectors like this, another one for SD cards and so on. I even gave one to my father, for him to keep his wedding ring when he needs to deal with greasy stuff and so on.
yep, I have kept a few of the bigger ones to keep stuff in.
How fast do these things move? Seems like they get going. Be curious what sort of MPH speeds these can do.
Great work my friend, you inspire me to do reviews, love ur content 💯 😎
Awesome! Thank you!
Well, at least the USB ports are accessible... unlike my Pavo25 V2.
I'd stick with your previous term, Pod-Racing (Or Return of the Jedi Speeder Bikes lol). Seeing a few more freestyle tricks making it into your fun flights, that one tree by the fenced in bushes looks like a new playground for you. A lot of sweet power loops and split-ses in there. Spices up the videos for sure. This is one of many reasons I love your channel, this is how I like to fly, just ripping around with a few tricks for fun. Great review! Especially like the Cine-cruze and the "Let's see what it can do" flights. 3s is kinda a weird size but looks like it's just right to get these micro 03's going good. Deffinatley improved over the previous one. Cheers!
Nice review Mr Burns, I really enjoyed your own free’style’ flight straight away. I just love the way you loop and zoop and whoop around the yard. Amazing video always
And yes. It’s your own style of freestyle, but man…. I love it
Thank you
im with you on the usb!! i rather just have it then dig threw my flight bag to find the dongle in my cables pocket.
Again nice review and awesome flying. This is just my opinion. The company’s are not competing with each other to get a new drone out so they have time to spend on the pit tunes now. This to me is a good thing. Thanks for the show and tell.
You are taking alot more chances with your freeatyle flying and it shows!! Really putting on a show, good flying!
Thank you
Wow, nice close up work during desktop . No stickerz??😀
Greetings, what do you recommend, should I upgrade my Pavo20 to the Pavo20 Pro frame and the motors and blades or go directly to the new Pavo20 Pro?
unless you comfortable with PID tuning, I don't suggest ever upgrading any bnf quad.
So I bought the pavo20 and the c3n 700mah (of close to it) battery and as soon as I plugged the battery in there was a spark, smoke, like something slow and now the pavo20 does not turn on.
Can you leand some advice
contact the company it was purchased from. Any smoke from electronics is very very bad. Maybe the battery connector was wired wrong, the battery plugged in the wrong cell count or some other issue.
@NickBurnsFPV thanks and for clarification you are saying I need to contact the battery manufacturer or the manufacturer of the pavo20. Or both?
I've contacted where I bought the pavo20 and will reach out to the place I got the battery from.
Thanks
Guess flying this pavo20 will now have to wait because I'm sure the pavo20 doesn't work now 😢
@@algersonvincent I was suggest the pavo reseller or manufacturer. Some times one can be easier to deal with than the other.
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks for all your responses
what would you suggest I do with the batteries?
i bought two packs with 2 in them and the one i tried to plug in has visible signs of the connector being burnt.
and what i mean is...should i attempt charging the others, using the other, saving it for once i get a new pavo20, or just return them all all together.
and for clarification
i bought the ones you mentioned in one of your videos (that i saw on the betafpv website)
GN3 3s 720mah 100c/200c 3s1p 11.4v 8.21wh
@@algersonvincent If a battery shows signs of damage I don't consider it safe to charge or use. It is rare the battery caused the damage. even when batteries do cause damage its generally user error, plugging in the wrong cell count of battery or pluggging in the battery backwards.
I just replaced the motor on my pavo 20 to 1104 7500kv motors with 3 bladed props the motors are t-motor blue color and i get 7mins of flight doing cini style and freestyle 5:45mins.
So we can install those motors and propellers without any problem on the Pavo20 in the same frame, since the new blades are 2.2 inches.?
Wacky props 😂 yet another size/style
Has the prop distance changed from paco 20 to pro? Could I maintain the carbon when upgrading the 20 to pro?
same prop size, so no.... if I understand correctly
No walksnail edition 😢
I've seen some other reviews for example from Rimzler where the Ducts where visible in the video. Did they changed the frame design on your Pavo20 Pro?
No, prop protection in view is about camera angle.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you mate!
How does it compare to the Mobula8 actually?
I think the video is smoother than the mob8, and the mob 8 is better suited for smaller spaces.
@@NickBurnsFPV Awesome! Thank you
Nothing new under the sun.
Thanks for the review! Do you think you can re-use the Pavo Pico (450mAh 2S) batteries for the Pavo 20 Pro?
yes, but we wouldn't get the benefit of the 3s power or flight time.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thaks, Nick!
betafpv just stole some of your video to post it here on youtube yesterday
Yea, they asked for it, I don't mind.
Can you share your rates for this little monster ?
The rates I use on all quads is linked in the video description.
Good review video
For me, the USB adapter is just as much trouble as finding a micro USB cable with data support and not just a charging cable. I have about 3 of the adapters now, but uusally grab the one sitting on top of my gaming PC case.. The weight difference can benefit 65mm to 2", but these drones coming in at 100g imake no difference if half a gram is added or lost. I will say the wire coming out the back makes setting up motors far easier then having a USB cable sticking out the bottom of a drone as you try to spin up the motors and watch their direction, all the while you likely have a fan running to keep ypur HD VTX cool.
pavo20pro vs flylens85?
pavo for flight time and increased ability in wind (heavier), flylens85 for overall flight performance.
And still they don't cable tie the power lead to the frame why do they think it's ok for the power cables to be pulling on the stack every time I connect a battery
I don’t mind that little dongle to connect to betaflight, I have two usb connectors that I just leave them on and keep them with my other usb or c connectors. Don’t see it as a thing at all
Fantastic flying as usual, Nick! Thanks a bunch for the review!!! 😃
About the rabbit, you should give him a name!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
There is a family living in the back yard. We call them the backyard bunch :)
The USB connector JST is not designed to be removed and pushed in lots of times it will break and wear out
How much throttle limit did you use when you flew inside?
None. I don’t use throttle limit, motor scaling or expo. Just how I have grown to fly
@NickBurnsFPV That's really impressive! I know you were good but didn't know that good
I always tuck my balance lead between the power wires.
3:50 Nah! your flight style I would call it ''Nicky B's Style''😁😁👍👍😁😁
Another fantastic job on all 3 flights Nick👍👍
Lol. Your suggestion is the second of the same. :)
@@NickBurnsFPV Meaning?? LOL!!!
@@3DMOFO2020 Burns style or Nick style, type of comment on the flight style. :)
@@NickBurnsFPV Oh that's right I decided to call it ''Nickey B's Style'' since I'm a New Yorker to give it NYC vibe to it 😁😁🤣🤣😎😎👍👍😎😎
@@3DMOFO2020 a little more flavor and pizazz, I like it
Would like to See the Performance with the O3 naked 😍
The best bit is the LED strip that goes around the outside and the pro doesn't have it how strange 😮
I put Tri blades on the OG pavo 20(same brand/type)and the hover value is much lower and more thrust and recovery power than the bi-blades(which felt underpowered)oddly the pavo 20 is the only model which has bi-blades.pavo Pico, pavo 25-35 and now the pavo 20 pro use 3 bladed props🤔
I suspect they chose biblades to maximize flight time in a flat flight style.
Did you charge the lavas to 4.35V?
No, I don't charge multi cell batteries to 4.35. I find high volt charging multi cell batteries shortens the battery life.
@@NickBurnsFPV okay, I don’t like hv lipos at all.. O ask only for the reason that the flight time wourld be 20 seconds longer 😁 I was wondering that the voltage Drops below 4.20 at right at take off! I‘m thinking off build the pavo pro with 4s with naked O3 .. or do you think 3s is good enough? Thank you 😻
@@NRG1991 It does kind of depend what you want from the pavo pro. Cruise flat flight or more freestyle like flight. I thought it performed well on 3s, but 4s is going to give more top end punch if we get the kv right.
As others have already noted, it looked like you ripped this drone harder than in your other reviews. Would you say thats because you were trying new things that day, or because the pid tune and new props just gave you more grip and control compared to other drones?
Its really hard to pin point a flying factor, sure its a combination of a number of quad characteristics, could have been the very nice weather, as it cooled down but still warm and less wind. Could have also been I was still exploring my control after a flying hiatus during vacation.
This has me wanting to take a left turn from my original plan to get my first 03 3.5"-5" BNF. For $100 plus batteries it looks really fun.
Interesting 03 mounting system that doesn't require stripping naked. Simple enough that I can just swap 03 over to a build or no VTX BNF down the line. Sign me up!
I got the 3.5 cinilog and will soon buy this as its quieter and flies better with same flight time! The cinilog is loud and cant really freestyle well. And the guards arent durable.
I have a question about my Pavo 20 I just got. I bought Tattoo 3s 650 mah batteries. The performance is horrible using the 2 blade props. My throttle is at about 80% for most of the flight just cruising around in angle mode. Should I get the Lava 3s 550 mah and will it help this issue? Anything in Betaflight I should look at? Flight time is only about 2 minutes.
I think you might want to go with a 450mah...I believe that is what I landed on when I was flying that one. But feel free to catch the video here ua-cam.com/video/6AUUo19ABg0/v-deo.html
a poet and didn't even know it ;)
Which would be better for a first fpv drone, more user friendly (don't necessarily need a GoPro on it) pavo 20 pro/ 25 v2/ 35 ?
the pavo25 has an issue with usb port being accessible, the 35 gets a bit big where we could have an issue with durability of the prop protection and it will require much more space starting out. So unless your planing to start flying in a big open space I would suggest the pavo 20 pro.
I love your videos! By the way do you have any palns to review the pavo20 pocket?
I don't at this time.
"Stand alone video on microphone setup". Must be for new viewers?
yea, I still get the question about twice a video. I think it happens after someone get the quad then doesn't understand why their recording doesn't have sound. I try to say it often, but I don't always.
good☆☆☆
es perfecto
Which better Nick? Flylens85 lite or this quad?
for my space and how I like to fly I like the flylens85 more, this "pro" would be more suited for more winds and larger spaces with 3s
Welche Pid fliegst Du?
The pids are provided by the manufacturer, stock on this quad. This is the same on all videos on my channel with BNF reviews.
Almost as bad sounding as an avatar
Looks like one too!
Avata.....? Avata 2 very quiet!
Small drone = bad noise
@zpillaz not true fly lenss 85 with tri props is almost silent
You could simply swap to 2-blade props, hell try to see if anyone has made toroidal props to be even more quiet.
wow!
I have 2 pavo20 4s, 1204 5000kv motors f7 flying controller. Flying beautifully. I think this will be the next move from betafpv. I will buy Pavo20 pro frame and props to try 4s
I‘ve done the same.. 😊 what do you think about it? Do you fly naked? Wich battery? It has defenitly more Freestyle capability or? I‘m Not really sure.. with the old frame, it went well too😂 but I think the larger wheelbase of the pro is better for carrying more weight espacilly for 4s
ua-cam.com/video/TABEUrguuhQ/v-deo.html&si=FVPsH_GLSshCDozj
@@NRG1991 I am flying with 4s 450mah and you freestyle very good because it has 2 inch props you can freestyle in tights places... More controllable and not so aggressive as 2.2 props, I think. My next move is to cut ducts to see how it goes.
I have build a 3inch with o3 no ducts very light and my old puffy 450mah batteries can go to 4 minutes with same motors 3016 gemfan props and it's also very controllable . If I change props can become more aggressive flying and less flying time
