If you're in trouble he will save the day. He's brave and he's fearless, come what may. Without him the mission would go astray. He's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer. Without him life would be much grimmer. He's handsome, trim, and no-one slimmer. He will never need a zimmer.
As a guy who lost a very dear friend unexpectedly a few years ago, this video really struck a cord with me. I'm so happy for you that you could make this happen in his memory. And damn it, you made me cry. RIP Lenny.
When content is put out like this. It really puts a smile on your face as well as that indescribable feeling of accomplishment. It’s no wonder why you needed a good 10 minutes in the car. Congratulations Tomley. I know your friend Lenny would have been so proud and ecstatic!! Way to go!!
as someone who lost their mother exactly 13 months ago i know what its like to want to either carry out some plans or visit some place, etc that you had intended to with a loved one while they were still alive, and still go do those things. ive began doing that with stuff me and my mom talked about and i know shes there with me in spirit, just as your friend Lenny was there to guide the car through the gates. thanks for sharing
Hope u enjoyed that run Lenny, Big Phil smashed it out of the park for ya, the car looks epic and hit 104mph R.I.P Lenny .... Great job Tomley u have done him proud my friend 💯👊🤙
I can hear the passion in your voice when you talked about your friend. The pride in your voice when you accomplished his dream with his car. What a moment for you and Lenny. Congratulations bro. ❤
Thankyou. I cried. I miss him dearly, like you is spoke with him the day before he died. Gone, but never forgotten. What an awesome tribute, what an awesome build. The Turbo Tonka ! Stunning
My condolences to you about the loss of your friend, Unexpected deaths are always the worst. You honored him very well. He was looking down wth a big smile on his face. Thanks for sharing the journey.
It’s amazing to see what you did for your friend and I’m sure he was watching that run from the sky and was there spiritually with you on that pass. I’m sure he is happy with what you did for him. May he rest in peace…
What a lovely pure and beautiful story. So deeply very sorry for the loss, and what a cracking way to keep a mini dream going. May lenny the rc car smash the goals set. Thank you for sharing too. Made my face water.
Great video and a touching tribute Phil. Didn't know Lenny but was at BERCC the day the news broke. No one else was there so felt privileged to be a part of the hard work and commitment he did for the club.
Phil, if I may, I've been enjoying your content thoroughly for a few years now. I decided based of your general character and the guy you always show us in your videos, you're a good man with a good heart. This video confirmed every great thing I thought of you. Thank you for what you do, thank you for being a great friend, and thank you for being a good person. We need millions more like you in this world. We would all be better off. I'm shedding a tear now, because this whole thing got me to thinking, I dont have any friends that would do something like this for me. Lenny was a fortunate guy in many ways.
I used to love building hard core gaming PCs and playing online. I naturally gravitated toward a job in the I.T. industry. I found that that after messing with them all day at work, the joy of doing it as a hobby had disappeared. I would hate for that to happen with the enjoyment I get from my RCs. So I totally understand about taking time with the build. Thanks for the great content.
Taking all apart and starting from scratch is a perfect way to honor your friend. As you put it together and pretty much do an RC Foose job for a friend with input you think he may be giving you as you think of the things you're doing. He is right beside you during the build and I'm VERY sure straight up proud of you taking the time to finish what he started while he was here in his name. Name it after him. Sorry for your loss mate. ❤️🔥 A burning desire in your heart to complete a resting friends project. What a friend.
I'm sorry for your loss. You got me in this hobby and I can see how this must have been an incredibly hard thing to do, I lost someone really dear to me last year and I still can't bear to see her things so the fact you could do what you did this video shows real dedication to your friendship.
Yes the 17mm hex ends bolts right on to the weird 14mm hex ones! There is just one 2mm bolt in the inside of the hole. Take the drive shaft into 2 pieces and stick your hex driver threw the axle tube and threw the u joint. Unscrew the ones with the 14mm hexs and they slide out. Then you slide in the 17mm ones and boom! It's so easy to convert to 17mm hexes. Cheers mate!
Just now watching your video and I am glad you are taking your loss of your mate as well as showing. Your a Good man Phil, and I appreciate you taking about. The world could use more Friends like you! Cheers 🍻 Troy 😎 P.s "Lenny" turned out kool...I love "Tonka"! Who of our age doesn't know "Tonka"!?
This video has inspired me to go to rossa this year and see if i can crack 100mph with my car. My reasons are since August last year ive had 4 strokes and building my car up has been therapy and has kept whats left of my brain working. thanks for the great content keep it coming regards Chris
Please keep and cherish that beautiful speed ripper you built for Lenny. I understand mabe using the electronics in it for something else, but the fact, like you said, you didn't crash it. It looks like you just built it. Keep it around so Lenny will always be close to you. Keep being you Phil I know you're a great full good person. I don't know how you didn't shed a tear in this one cause I almost did. Call me a Sally I don't care real men cry. That's okay that you didn't put it in the video if you did, I can just really feel the impact of your great friendship, with the loss of Lenny. Cheers Phil, have a good day.
Wow, First off I would like to say that you are a TRUE FRIEND....and Thank you for sharing that video with us. Also Congratulations on hitting your goal of 100 mph for your friend Lenny...YOU ROCK MY FRIEND...
