My mechanic looked at this video while we were discussing putting the 240 tire kit on my 2024 bobber and even he was impressed with your explanations and skills. He's installed a bunch of 240's on harleys so he was unfamiliar with the RC setup on an Indian. Needless to say; he told me to go ahead and order the kit and he would slap it on with a custom fender job and rear light setup. This will all be done after I get back from Vegas in April. Thanks for another great video!
I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for watching the video. Just a word of advice, RC sends the rear wheel with the Metzeller 888 tire for a reason. Due to tire size inconsistencies some 240 tires will not clear the swing arm and will rub. Good luck on your build. You won't be dissapointed!

Absolutely. I have been on the fence about this upgrade for a while but seeing this would make it much easier. Now I also have the Indian Chef further complicating my decision. I would love to see how many custom builds will come out that line once it hits dealerships across the U.S. I think a 116 with Wide rear on the Dark Horse variant would be a sweet ride.
Is it not worth to jack the bike up before undoing the suspension to release all pressure? Also that belt looks so close to the wheel. I'd be a bit worried about that rubbing.

I ordered the wheel and tire from RC COMPONENTS. The wheel I ordered is called the “Stocker” because it matches the stock Indian Scout wheel. If you want the wheel that matches the Indian Scout Bobber then you order the “Raider” wheel. Price is roughly $2300.
Hello, I'm about to pull the trigger on this RC Components kit. I want to ask, so I'm sure, all of the spacers you mention in the video are included with the kit, correct? Thanks, great video!!!
What kind of tire did you use? I originally had m888 on it and tried switching to a commander 2 but the tire must be a little bit wider because it rubbed on both sides when I put it back on. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do next.
RC Components recommends the M888 for that exact reason. Not all tire sizes are the same even though they are marked as such. Your only option that is guaranteed to work is to stick with the M888. Other brands may work, but it will be trial and error, and costly.
Hello and greetings from Spain. I'm trying to find out what type of rim and tire you have so I can upgrade my Indian Scout to a 240 wheel. Could you tell me? thanks a lot
I ordered it from RCcomponents. It is their “Stocker” wheel. If you have a Bobber it’s a “Raider” wheel. It is an 18X9 wheel. The tire they use is a Metzeller 888, 240/40/18. Due to slight tire size difference between brands, not all 240 tires will fit the swing arm of the Scout. The Metzeller works without any clearance issues. The price here in the states is approximately $2300 for the wheel and tire.
TIP: when removing the axle spacer. If the old one is in there right and you can’t pull out out. Get a flat head screw driver and push up while rotating the spacer. Took me about 3 minutes just to get it out because it was really stuck in there.
It will not work with the oem fender because that fender is attached to the subframe which needs to be removed to install the 240 wheel and tire. RCComponents does make a rear fender that will work.
The swing arm has just enough clearance for the 240 wheel and tire. The only thing you have to remove is the subframe which is responsible for holding the rear fender, tail lights, and the weight of a rear passenger.
It’s just automotive pinstripe tape. You can buy it at any auto parts store. It’s great because you can change up your color scheme for just a few dollars. Just make sure to clean the area with rubbing alcohol first for better adhesion.

@@hellsragegarcia6300 I used Krylon paint from my local auto store. Use adhesion promoter first (clear primer). I didn't use clear coat. The emblems will have 3M tape on the back and a clear film on top. Remove the top film, paint, wait until paint dries thoroughly (I waited 24 hrs), reapply the top clear film gently, remove bottom film from the 3M side, apply to tank, then remove top film. It'll make sense when you see the emblems.
Hey bro do you happen to know where i could find a space for both front and rear
rear one you can get from RC Components, the front one from your local Indian dealer or go to Cheapcycleparts.com.
If you're doing the 240 this is the video to watch. Took the guess work out of my install.
awesome vid..
not sure if you shared already the link where you get the kit.
will love to get the same one of your..
mine is a 2021
I got the rear wheel and tire from RC COMPONENTS. It was like $2300 or so. The Scout and Scout Sixty rear wheel is called the “Stocker” wheel, the Bobber rear wheel is called the “Raider” wheel. They are not the exact same design as the front wheel, but very similar.
@@oxouk you the man. thanks so much, you`re good man..
also I just subscribed ..love your work, keep it up
Great job. Thank you!
Would you be able to show the link from where you got the 240 kit from? Thank you

@@oxouk does it work on a 2021 bobber model?
@@thebigticket199ify to the best of my knowledge, yes. At that price, I would check with RC first.
How many hours did I take me to do this conversion
Mario, the conversion can be done in an hour. First time always takes longer as you are a little more cautious.
Thank u
Do you have any idea what a dealer or a bike shop might charge for a conversion
@@mariomartinez-iu2lt the labor alone would be around $200 if I had to guess.
excelente video no podía dejar de agradecer y voy a hacerlo yo mismo gracias !! PS the jfast video can you share the link?
which the size wheel do you install and where I can buy it, thanks
It’s an 18” rear wheel and can be bought at RC Components.
How much time did you spend on swapping everything out?
At first, 2 hours. I’ve got it down to half that now.
