Thanks to #rvsperformance for providing us with the effort to dial in the tune and make things perfect and thanks to #rynomotorsports for all your assistance in getting the data for us!
A note on the timed runs, I used the Apple stopwatch for the visual timing element and started the clock when the bike started rolling, stopped when each speed milestone was hit. I cant think of a better was to demonstrate this with better accuracy. Yes, I could have had better launches but these are not ideal conditions.

As much as I hate to see that we had the limp mode issue on the first tune, it is great that you showed how to log and diagnose the issues. Tried to get it a little to hot rod for you I guess!! Great video and thank you for the continued support!
you bet! thanks for the help!
The Scout engine on the bobber doesn't seem to like to deviate too much from the stock AFRs. Very small changes clean it up a lot.
Dang, those runs were awesome. Super cool to see the power numbers and new tune from Ryan!
Sweet vid
Another great video. The Scouts are powerful.
I bought a 2019 scout bobber that had Vance and Hines pipes on it, I did the k and n air filter and box and dyno jet tuner and I could tell a big seat of the pants difference. Love the scout bobber and the content! Got me as a subscriber here. Now I'm off to binge watch your stuff!
Oh man that’s so nice of you. We’re gonna have more Bobber content coming soon but even if it’s not Bobber related keep watching because it s all fun stuff.
@@TwoIndians absolutely!
Coming next video....Brian laid out in the front yard pointing up yelling “SQUIRREL!!!!” 😂😂😂 But seriously my friend, Maleficent is really coming into character now. And I just “thought” I have talent.
Great video! I bought a used 2016 Scout back in May. It has the stock airbox and filter, and I believe the original owner drilled the baffles. My first upgrade is gonna be the Trask replacement induction and filter. I'll see if I can tell any difference, before thinking about exhaust or tune. New sub to your channel. You two ride and stay safe!
Thanks! Hey do yourself a favor and RVS before you pull the trigger on that Trask, if I’m not mistaken it was something he had a specific aversion to. Maybe it was my guy at Ryno Dyno but either way I remember hearing it may not be the best option. Third hand info, I have no first hand knowledge. Anyway, thanks again!
@@TwoIndians I appreciate the heads up on the Trask!
If you buy the dynojet power vision 3 get it through fuel moto, they will send you tunes for what mods you have, without the hassle of having to go back and fourth and getting a limp mode. I had zero issues with either of the two tunes I have used, I got a trask intake and ran no mufflers and got the tune so I wouldn’t damage anything, then finally got an exhaust after all the back orders I went with two brothers racing 2-1, the bike pulls like crazy and redlines at 8800rpm
I’ve worked with RVS plenty of times to know if was a fluke, sent me a revised tune and it was no big deal. If you buy the tuner from him you get the tune free also. I’ve heard good things about Fuel Moto as well. Yeah she’s running great and never been happier.
Jamie at Fuel moto is getting 100+rwhp out of his tunes with airbox and exhaust upgrades . He made one for me and the bike is a totally different beast
@@mrkihn Wow. What mods for that kind of hp?
I’m ordering the 2022 Scout Bobber on Friday here in Sanford. Can’t wait to see you around at Ace Cafe someday. 😎
Hell yeah man! Hey! Get with Jared Burnett for $500 off coupon!
Look him up on IG and tell him I sent you. Search for JaredViolin. He’s an Indian ambassador and hands out these coupons
@@TwoIndians thanks! I reached out to him and he said to hit him up when I’m ready to take delivery. I just got back from Sky Powersports an hour ago; I put $500 down and ordered the black smoke Scout Bobber. I thought I wouldn’t see it until at least January or February. The computer told them it will be there in two weeks on the 18th! 😎
@@AceGreene360 awesome man!
IMO if it works don’t mess with it. When you start upgrading the engine from stock you start having more problems. Stage one is okay but anything beyond that is just unnecessary. To each his own brother thanks for the video!
Riding Humboldt County true that brother I was VERY apprehensive about buying my Vintage because somebody else had already done motor work to it. Intake, exhaust, bluetooth codes in the back of the book that logs god knows what onto it.
Let me put you at ease though brother. It's night and day. I HAD a 1900cc stratoliner Yamaha that I was PRETTY SURE could school most Harleys/Indians. Nope.
I put some nice 94 octane fuel in this Indian, (started noticing it on about the third tank) and this bike makes power from everywhere!
You've heard the expression, "Smoother than 4th gear on an Indian"? I totally get it now man.
I can be in town going 20 mph and to engage my cruise control I need 4th gear. It does this so easily. When I get to a faster speed limit I don't have to double back to lower gears it makes crazy easy to use torque even when I've put it at a mechanical disadvantage.
The computers in these new bikes are smart bro. The longer you ride the bike the more the computer learns about your riding style.
The bike doesn't mind tuner upgrades. Trust man bro I wouldn't BS you the bike is happy at every RPM and gear.
Maintenance? Don't let Brian scare you. I know, he's like a big shoeless kid wearing pants that would get him kicked out of gym class but NONE of this is really Maintenance.. it's upgrade bro and the factory didn't do it because if it rolled out of the factory with loud pipes and lower gas mileage the EPA and "save the planet" types would be all over it.
But, when we get it home... the sky is the LIMIT!! HOP that bad boy UP! Ha ha
Now I gotta get off of UA-cam and back to the editing room Humboldt you are like three videos ahead of me.
Shout out coming soon man.
Looks like Dynojet makes a good unit and is worth it. Reasonable cost for the return you get.
Nice work on this video!!!
Great video!
I love this video. I noticed you don't have flat black caps on the engine cover bolts. I have sets available if you'd like to order them. They fit great and look amazing.
@vegasdetroiter1 Do you have a link to those engine bolt covers?
Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone: The Indian scout is speed limited to 120MPH, Doing a Dyno run on an Indian Scout in top gear will have you hit 120mph at around 6200RPM and not let you get all the way to the 8100/8200 Redline with the stock module. The Indian Scout can actually hit 120MPH all the way down in 4th Gear.
I like this guys video Style
I recently got a tune. It cleaned up the power curve a lot. The dyno registered 88-90 HP. Pretty good.
The bike has an Indian performance intake and Trask slip-ons.
I know folks out there want the highest numbers. To achieve that you’re going to have to make sacrifices. Much louder sound from intake and exhaust. I’m sure Barbara doesn’t want any of that. With just a tune the bike will run better. Remember Indian has to play by the rules (EPA) and we don’t, unless you live in California.
Exactly correct on all fronts.
Well put.
Any chance you know the reasons why Power Vision 3 costs about $30 more than Power Vision 4 (phone app driven and Bluetooth programming to ECU)?
Any ideas why someone would pick the 3 over the 4? Thanks!
Love the Tank, is that Air-Brush Paint ?
check out our video, The Art of Custom Paint", its one of the earlier videos in this series. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoIndians
After I sent this I Found the Video and watched it. Absolutely Stunning 👍
Man I miss Ace Cafe
You should be pulling sub 4 second 0-60. 1st gear will reach that. You can hit 100 in 3rd or at least close. Power band starts at 4K rpm. You got 8k rpm to play with. Also try adding a little power before releasing the brakes. Better jump off the line.
First could get to 60 but you will be close to 8k RPM... Shift to second gear around 50 to begin the 4k band in 2nd gear.
The power band is very noticeable.
Hi,
Loved the video I am considering to put the bike on a dynotune in the Netherlands. But I am a big cautious because I might end up f*coming up the engine.
So could you help me out with it is it worth it and can I mess up the engine with the dynotune or is that just BS
It’s 100% better. The thing to remember about getting your bike “tuned” is that you are not doing it to max out the performance causing extra stress on the motor. You’re doing it to make it run optimally by creating a proper air fuel ratio based on the products you have installed. It may already be running too lean which can cause damage and the tune corrects these problems while also improving throttle response. You have nothing to fear.
I just test rode the Indian today and honestly it felt kind of slow. Bike was stock. Is this a normal experience?
Depends on what you’re coming from. I mean if you’re look for sport bike performance you won’t find it here.
@@TwoIndians Comparing it to the Honda Rebel/CMX 1100 - have you ridden that bike?
I rode a exhaust and flash scout and a stock one at indian. The factory felt slow in comparison to factory
QUESTION. At the approx age of 45, why are you not wearing 'riding gear'? Gloves, long pants, helmet, bla, bla, bla. Not like I know everything, just that I'm an olde worry wart. Good bike stuffff. Thnx.
Good question and thanks for the compliment, I'm actually turning 58 in a couple weeks! As far as my riding gear goes, I make my choices based on many factors including weather, distance travelled, safety and comfort are among those. I happen to live in Florida and its about 100 degrees so I wear shorts, have all my life. I wear jeans or appropriate gear to stay warm when its colder. Sometimes you'll see me without a helmet, sometimes a 3/4 and usually a FF, again depends on several factors. I appreciate your concern and understands the benefits of all the protective gear you mentioned but i also make my own choices based on the factors above as well. And yes, i know a lot of people that have survived dangerous situations that could have improved if they'd chosen better. But if I wanted to insure my 100% safety, I wouldn't ride a motorcycle or leave my house every day. Thanks for watching and i appreciate your comments! :)
Maybe because his an adult and can make his own decisions..
Why do they advertise 100 horsepower?
Because Indian measures the HP/TQ output at the crankshaft, not at the wheel.
Ha.I just realized you are in Lake mary..I live in Deltona😎
Yep, somewhere around there. in my garage right now finishing up the new run/turn/brake lights now.
@@TwoIndians do you ever plan on running at the track? I go to speedworld dragstrip in bithlo all the time and Usually the only cruiser and definitely the only Indian..
no, but a bunch of our guys from the local group were there last weekend. are you on the Cruiser Rider Central Florida page on FB? Thats my crew when I'm out riding, which isnt often enough. hence my nickname
@@TwoIndians I'm not in that group but I will check it out.
@@TwoIndians also..by going to the track you will get verified acceleration #s..lol
How much does he charge?
I don't get it. I thought the number had 100 hp, went you only getting 79hp? That's not the 60 that had less power.
Indian rates horsepower at the crankshaft, a dyno rates it at the rear wheel, on the pavement
What up with just one saddlebag
is that scout 20 handlebars?
I’m not sure about that but they are the mini-apes that Indian sells
10 sec!
Stop looking at peak numbers. The numbers that matter the most are the numbers under the curve. You picked up a ton under the curve. Even if you did a dyno tune on top of the remote tuning you would probably only pick up another 2-3hp not worth it considering the cost of dyno tuning
Yeah, you are not wrong. Everybody gets caught up in what the maximum output is because that’s what all the manufacturers base their numbers on peak output. What’s more important is the power that you’re getting off the line and through the curve.
The bike has 98 horsepower from new with no adjustments , your full of it
Thanks for your comment George. The bike has 98 or 100 hp from the factory, depending on which model year you’re looking at I guess (current year says 100)… But that measurement is at the crankshaft, not at the wheel. These measurements are at the wheel. Thanks again for your input.
so i guess when you said "full of it" you meant accurate information? :D
Stock Bobber is probably 80-83 HP.
That is an inaccurate way of doing 0-60mph testing and 0-100mph testing. Get a proper device like a Dragy or VBox.
They are GPS based and also can tell the slope. Most runs will be invalid if the slope is greater than the accepted range.
The results will be much different if you are on a 3% slope up or down. Especially on the 0-100mph run.
I will not argue any of those points however both of the runs are from the same starting point and indeed, there is a downhill slope. Not chosen for reasons of exaggerating performance but simply because it gave me the safest way to reach that speed with my own lane of traffic and no encroachment. Thanks for your input, it is helpful for future consideration!
@@TwoIndians Let me clarify. I have the same tune you do, just not from Ryan. I haven't dynoed mine so I don't know power gains or anything. My comment is NOT about the tune. Dyno clearly shows power gains. I am simply stating from my personal experience as I am car tuner I ONLY use Dragy for any performance testing. I say it because I heard you say you will use a stop watch when editing to get the times. That is just simply not going to be accurate. Look into Dragy. I think it will be a nice addition to your channel.
@@AndoBMS yeah, 100%, I get it. This is strictly for demonstration purposes. Fwiw, I ran my iPhone stop watch for 15 seconds and did a screen record at the same time. Then I laid that video on top of the actual ride video, aligning the start of the clock with the moment the bike started moving forward, and then recording the displayed time the moment the bike’s needle hit each speed marker. Again, 100% unscientific but the best I can do without buying a bunch of expensive gear. Curious what your HP/TQ numbers are.
@@TwoIndians Mine won't be comparable to yours as it's Scout 60 Bobber. From the research I did it seems like it should be making the same power as scout 69 in stock form. Mine has the filter upgrade and Combat 2-1 exhaust. It's my first bike :)
Awesome set up! Too loud for my wife for sure.
Factory specsust be way off...they say 100 hp
The factory specs are measured at the crankshaft, not at the wheel.
They advertise 100hp. Are they just lying or what?
At the crank, not at the wheel
@@TwoIndians I'll have to do some research. Thank you
long winded and unplanned = painful to watch
I’ll check out your channel and see how it’s done. Maybe I can learn how to make the perfect video. Sorry I let you down. Actually I’m just kidding, unfazed LOL
Can’t find your channel.
