This is probably how Graves should’ve been written from the beginning. He’s a very layered in MWlll. Despite the events of the last game, he doesn’t take it personal, and works well with everyone, and despite being Shepherd’s closest ally, he backstabs him to save himself. In a way, he reminds me of Hondo from Star Wars, a freelance who most of the times is in conflict with the heroes due to his interests, but on occasion proves to be a very useful ally (and even friend). He feels like a true PMC in this game compared to MWll where he was either Shepherd’s personal lapdog or a close friend to 141 who didn’t really feel like a mercenary in the first place.

He’s at his core a businessman and like Shepherd, (who was his longest running benefactor) he’d betray Farah if paid by someone like Colonel Norris (he’s not gonna just work for the Kremlin and expose the West). He’s definitely more likeable as a close friend of 141, but he’s more interesting in this where he’s really only looking out for his business, and can either be a valuable ally thanks to his manpower or a very dangerous enemy. Though he has some morales like not rampaging throughout a city. Not sure if I got my point across but this is the best I could do. My point his he’s a very gray character, with no agenda of revenge or to destroy world. Just a businessman, and I think that’s intriguing.

Shadow company doesn’t seem to take anything personal or want revenge. 141 killed a lot of shadows in the campaign and he still holds no grudges. The only reason I’d see them staying in the story is if the ULF hires them or for some reason they merge with the ULF or 141. Because I highly doubt they would be ally’s with konni due to them being terrorists

I can see how Gaz, being the 141 operative most removed from the Las Almas fiasco, holds a certain amount of respect for Graves for sharing his "getting dirty so the world stays clean" ethos, and even impressed how he cheated death during that tank fight. Loved how he subtly addressed Graves by the shoulder tap after Price pulled him away. Either he becomes the binding factor between 141 and Shadow in the sequel, or be the most betrayed if Graves ever backstabs again, which is much less likely since we already had Soap for that.
I'd love to see graves and an american marine task force end up assisting Gaz and Alex in the 4th, and hopefully a return for Sergeant Foley and Ramirez.

Technically Shadow was never told to fire on Taskforce 141, just to vacate them from Alejandro’s base. Graves did give Ghost and Soap a chance to leave and things got out of hand if you think about it. Still a betrayal though

Just rewatched the MW2 betrayal and Task Force 141 initiated hostility before The Shadows (Bare in mind their weapons were still lowered at the time) despite being given direct orders from their CoC they held operational capacity of the Mexican FOB/Base. The Shadows opened fire after being attacked by Alejandro while also being detained with zip ties. Tho one could argue this was reasonable force given both sides had weapons. So technically Graves wasn't lying in the Congress meeting nor should Task Force 141 hold such hostility to Graves.
Graves has no right to detain a Mexican Special Forces military base. Alejandro was on the right to defend his base, SC clearly is wrong. All of SC activity in Las Almas is pure illegal.
Graves is the best character to come out of this reboot. Shepherd is dead so I’d see him and Shadow definitely having more freedom to do whatever they want. Would probably align themselves in a love / hate relationship with 141 in taking out Makarov

He is a great character. I hope that in the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 he will be a playable character in the story. Now that Shepherd has died at the hands of Price, that could mean that Task Force 141 will be pursued by the US. Graves could be sent to capture them and be responsible for some of the team's deaths, like Price. That would be cool and something to see.

Sad how terrible Shepard is as an Antagonist. Graves should have had way more screen time since he actually does stuff, not sit behind a table and say things like Shepard.
I don't understand one plot point. Graves betrayed 141 and then in search of Hassan, he literally mass murders an entire town in Mexico, and yet it's not bought up even once in MW3. Also, in the courtroom, the judge just asks regarding Shepherd and Graves betraying TF 141, but he doesn't even ask about all the people he murdered. This was a missed opportunity to bring back Alejandro from the previous game, as he could give a testament against Graves stating that he locked his men up, snatched the Los Vaqueros base and then murders hundreds of his people, and that would have been the end of Graves and Shepherd. I'm not saying thst betraying 141 was something to be ignored, sure that was bad too, but it's the fact that he went to another country and committed a massive war crime. Also, when Soap, Ghost, Gaz and Price are forced to work with him again, they're just pissed at him for betraying them, not because he committed such a horrible massacre. This shows how poorly written the story in this game was
the citizens who were living in the town in Las Almas Mexico were working with the Cartel along with the cops too Graves gave them the opportunity to walk away in MW2 (referring to Los Vaqueros & TF141) because Shepherd had plans of betraying TF141 & Los Vaqueros which is why Graves betrayed Shepherd in Congress (remember, Alejandro intervened first which is what made Graves have him incarcerated)

MW3 they were going to have the hospital mission that was a story in Ghosts. 60 operators against an army, a few rise from the sand we get Elias and Rorke and they tie ghosts into the modern warfare storyline as Makarov gets support from…Mexico and below as support, starting WW3. Would’ve made for a better game seeing as how las Almas cartel could overthrow the governments and recruit those who are….willing. Idk I think they goofed and the only way to recover is add more story missions and for this to be one of them.

Grave should just remain as a permanent character in this game. He has a likeable personality, cool design, and very likable by everyone.

Sad how terrible Shepard is as an Antagonist. Graves should have had way more screen time since he actually does stuff, not sit behind a table and say things like Shepard.

I don't understand one plot point. Graves betrayed 141 and then in search of Hassan, he literally mass murders an entire town in Mexico, and yet it's not bought up even once in MW3. Also, in the courtroom, the judge just asks regarding Shepherd and Graves betraying TF 141, but he doesn't even ask about all the people he murdered. This was a missed opportunity to bring back Alejandro from the previous game, as he could give a testament against Graves stating that he locked his men up, snatched the Los Vaqueros base and then murders hundreds of his people, and that would have been the end of Graves and Shepherd. I'm not saying thst betraying 141 was something to be ignored, sure that was bad too, but it's the fact that he went to another country and committed a massive war crime. Also, when Soap, Ghost, Gaz and Price are forced to work with him again, they're just pissed at him for betraying them, not because he committed such a horrible massacre. This shows how poorly written the story in this game was
the citizens who were living in the town in Las Almas Mexico were working with the Cartel along with the cops too Graves gave them the opportunity to walk away in MW2 (referring to Los Vaqueros & TF141) because Shepherd had plans of betraying TF141 & Los Vaqueros which is why Graves betrayed Shepherd in Congress (remember, Alejandro intervened first which is what made Graves have him incarcerated)

MW3 they were going to have the hospital mission that was a story in Ghosts. 60 operators against an army, a few rise from the sand we get Elias and Rorke and they tie ghosts into the modern warfare storyline as Makarov gets support from…Mexico and below as support, starting WW3. Would’ve made for a better game seeing as how las Almas cartel could overthrow the governments and recruit those who are….willing. Idk I think they goofed and the only way to recover is add more story missions and for this to be one of them.
