- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, the crew gets another opportunity to test out our new 2024 Western Star 49X with a Miller Industries, Century 9055XL. The 9055XL is a 50 ton integrated (non-rotating) 3-stage boom. The XL is for Extra Long reach and has the same capacity as the standard 50T 3-stage. A customer calls us after one of their driver's has blown a steer tire on a truck with a loaded trailer and has hit a bridge. When it hit the bridge, it knocked the steering axle loose and dumped fluids (hazardous materials) on the bridge. So, we also bring out our new Emergency Response unit and our traffic control unit #16. This may not seem like much, but this was quite the job. The truck and trailer were both jammed against the bridge and guard rail!!! So far, I am loving this truck and what it can do!!! Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God's blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!
We have a difficult and dangerous job and we take it very seriously, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and enjoy our work. We strive to be polite, professional, efficient, and safe...and still can have fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

That driver did a good job to keep the dirty side down and the shiny side up .
Driver did a great job keeping that thing under control and honestly pinning it against the guardrail was a smart move - kept it out of traffic and straight. Made your job a little more challenging. Great to see Talon in the field and Shelby showing why she’s an asset to your team. Prayers for continued protection for all of you on jobs like this. Love the new truck too!
Great job. I use to drive. 63-94. Thank god never had a wreck. Was hit head on twice. Wiped out front of my GMC Astro. You people do a great job for those who need it and not more damage. Congrats. Stay safe.
Everybody say "Hi Talon!!!!" Glad to see him!
Hi Talon! :-)
Hey Talon welcome back to the videos.
Respect to the officer for having your backs. You needed the help on that narrow shoulder.
Hiya Shelby, good to see you in the field, Talon! Hiya Ethan.
You won't find a finer gentleman than Ron Pratt.
IKR? Its super rare that we get to see Talon these days, ever since he became shop manager. I always enjoyed video's with Talon on scene, he's got a good sense of humor, and always finds the positive within the mess of negative. Last time I saw Talon working an uncomfortable job, was the box truck stuck in a ditch, during a flood. The way he walked that road, I thought he was fishing for something, turns out he was, box truck hehe. Great episode.
Nice thing about states such as Missouri or even Illinois, since tow companies are considered as emergency services, there are more inter-agency trainings involved. Each department and company are familiar with each other and establishes mutual respect so they got each other's back.
Ron is the industry standard for towing hands down, I’ve learned a lot from watching this channel. Stay safe out there !
I can see why it's a dangerous place to be there Ron. Don't know how you guys do your job there. Takes bravery skills in my book. Very awesome recovery guys and teamwork. God bless you guys too.
Everybody hustles when the pressure is on.
Great job Ron, Shelby, Talon, you all made it a safe and speedy job. As always thank you to the officer that helps keep you safe!
Yes, it was good to see Talon playing with the new Truck and back in one of the videos, he was in all the videos when I first started watching your channel.
He was a fan favorite! Lol!
People get me upset whenever they are driving in the lane that y'all need to do the recovery in please be focused and safe out there on those roads 🙏🏽
I see lights I try to get over asap
Glad the outcome was good, definitely a scary situation but also a good opportunity for the new vehicles too
Yesterday evening somebody went off of the road right by our driveway into the mud and got stuck (front wheel drive Volkswagen) and since watching your videos we were able to get it out successfully so thank you very much for all of the helpful videos! Have a great day everyone :D
Good video, Ron. I cringe when I see how close that traffic gets to you. Thank God for keeping you and your team safe in these situations. Great teamwork getting this scene cleared quickly and safely.
Stay safe and healthy.
You definitely need emergency lights on hazmat trailer, maybe even an arrow. But at always, stay safe. Good work, good video.
Great to see Talon!
It is always good to see Talon. Shelby is gonna be a great asset to your team. Think it is the first time i seen you use the spring hook.
Seeing people driving along in the near lane, just completely ignoring your presence, just because it might cause them an INCONVENIENCE makes me so mad. I follow a few recovery channels - in the USA, and in the UK where I live - you folks do such critical work in such dangerous conditions - and all it takes to make you a WHOLE lot safer is to SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER - which I hope all watching these videos know to do. If I EVER see anyone in a shoulder - or on some of our terrible UK roads with NO shoulder, I always ALWAYS give some space!! As always, thanks for all you do to Ron and the team - we are hugely grateful, and we LOVE the videos!
Moving over's THE LAW in Fl. Needs to be NATIONAL!!!
Is it an entitlement thing... The sign says I can do X , It's my constitutional right! I don't know. Love to hear from some septics.....
I can't see why your cones and the cop car aren't used to close that lane completely. The amount of traffic didn't need two lanes and it would have been so much safer.
@@markbonner1139 All States have some form of Move Over laws. New York just enhanced theirs to include ANY vehicle stopped along a road and displaying hazard flashers or warning lights.
You need a law that states when police lights are flashing all traffic must slow to 50 mph max to protect rescuers. That is law in Australia.
Missouri already has a “Slow down & Move Over” law on record. As seen in the video more than once; not everybody understands it or seems to be in too big of a hurry to care
All 50 states *have* a slow down and move over law already. All but 1 specifically include tow/recovery vehicles.
If that was a law in the south people would have to speed up alot. One cop on the shoulder will stop 4 lanes of traffic on both sides
Many states have that law, including Missouri (where this is being done). The laws state a driver must either move to the next lane or slow down. In a video a few years ago, Pratt was almost hit by a car, and the sheriff who was there went after the driver.
All US states have a Move Over law, where if you come up on a vehicle with flashing lights (in Missouri, both police lights and flashing amber lights as you see on Ron's trucks), you must move over out of the adjacent lane if there is a lane to move to, and slow down. The details differ from state to state; Missouri doesn't specify how much you must slow down, while in Minnesota, you have to slow to no more than 20 MPH under the posted speed limit.
I will never understand why people just won't move over and give room for the work you do or for that matter they just don't care about anyone on the road working, glad no one was hurt most definitely a dangerous place to work
The state should let you take the whole lane next to the place you are working for your safety and the safety of everyone
Just my thoughts from what I have seen over the last 40+ years
WESTERN STAR #18 MADE IT LOOK TOO EASY!! CONGRATS ON THE NEW TRUCK!! MUCH LOVE AND BLESSINGS FROM CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE. HOME OF MILLER INDUSTRIES!!
Crappy automatic though. I could tell when he was backing it up 10:15 it it had a third pedal he'd have backed up smoothly instead of stop start
Don't scrape the new unit love watching your videos on Fridays makes my afternoon
It was nice to see Talon again. Shelby is a great asset to have, knows what needs to be done and doesn’t wait for someone to tell her to do it. Great job everybody
Ron, I know you are a professional and all respect to you and your crew. I've been a LEO for 40 years and although the Police helped you if it was me I would have shut down the right hand lane way back. You had enough cones and enough space. Here is Australia when we have a stationary emergency service vehicles with red/blue lights flashing vehicles passing are restricted to 40 km/k (about 24 M/Ph) with a penalty of about $350 (Aud). I follow a lot of American tow channels, you seem to have so many more vehicles per population and so many more entitled and arrogant drivers. Wishing you all the best, you do a great job.
Who else loves Ron Pratt?
Me he's my 6th idol in my list of idol's!❤
Ron's always on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week I need on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week
Ron's team they always work safe and and safely on the highway cuz it's real dangerous out there Shelby you'll do a good job everybody do a good job out there be safe
Me. I'm absolutely a huge fan of his channel in my opinion! Been watching his videos since 2018 and still watching his channel to this day in 2024.
🙋🏻♂️
Good job video. Good to see Talon out of the shop. Y’all stay safe
Blessings from the UK.
Thanks for the laugh Ron, "How much air do you haver in the truck and trailer system" Driver "I didn't check no Tires" then poor Ron is left speechless. I wonder who gave these steering wheel holders their CDL's
Agreed
Give the guy a break. He just had a near death experience. Lots of normally smart people will have brains as thick as day old oatmeal after something like that.
I'm on the threshold of 30 years with my CDL and yes some steering wheel holders should stick to tricycles.
Lol yeah for real
I’ve always would be standing, watching traffic when ever a tow driver was hooking for a tow, doesn’t hurt to have an extra set of eyes watching for idiots.
A right left light bar on top of the hazmat trailer might be a good idea!
Outstanding response.. I can't count the number of times I see a driver putting out triangles without rotating the base 90 degrees. Triangles up! flop, triangles down. Proper conage to prevent carnage.
Good to see talon again. We haven't seen him in ages! That red semi almost took out that brand new hazmat truck. Be careful!
Yeah too close, I still remember the video of Trooper Travis Shepherd taking off after the guy who refused to move over I hope he got a hefty fine along with the official chat !!
Ron all I can think of when he was backing up to the semi to hook up you were thinking get my new truck away from the guardrail
Wow! Talon is very good at backing. Not many drivers can accomplish this feat while dealing with the idiots who are ignorant about what is happening.
Speaking for those of us who've been here awhile: We've missed Talon!
Slow Down Move Over, I am glad everyone safe and good driver to keep it from rolling over. More people need to see the importance of moving over what 55 or 65 MPH feels like on the side of the highway. You are all brave and glad you all work so safe!
Towing & Recovery Operator here from Upstate New York. Love watching you work especially on difficult recoveries such as these! Well done! Glad to see that people are getting better at slowing down and moving over. At least in my area. Can’t say the same for the rest of the country
When we are at an MVI, we take the lane beside us if it is a two lane or we push them over onto the shoulder at 50km/hr max if a single lane! Our lives matter!! For a few minutes of inconvenience to the motorist, we get to go home too. Thank you Ron for allowing us to join your team on this tow! Appreciate it 😊
Bet you soon have that truck loaded and organized. You won’t fight that battle long.
Always love how the rotator is so prepared. New truck will be like that soon.
Keep up the great work.
Blessings.
Only Mr Ron Pratt is perfect for this job..
Good entertainment for a Friday morning in good old blighty England 🏴 and its not raining ☔ witch is different 😂
Good to see Talon out running the western star, you and your crew always do a great job working together!! I enjoy watching your videos Ron
Ben watching for over 4and 30 years and love every minute of it

A CROWN VIC, best video ever
What ?
Yes
no.
Nerves of steel. Stay safe‼️
Very dangerous location and situation, but done as safely as possible... Great job everybody.
Nice video, nice to see that the new unit 18 is actually on a real job
This video also shows the bennefits of the Traffic control unit. When the Police officer drove around (to get back behind you), it was the Traffic control unit who provided you the safety that you needed 😉
From old missouri boy YOU AND YOUR CREWS ARE FANTASTIC now i live in Fl still watching when able,
Love Ron Pratt and all he stands for. To all his employees: my family and I pray daily for your safety and health and safety! God bless!

Teamwork at its finest
Good team work( family) A very caring family watching out for each other 🙏😊
Nice work everyone! Great job!
A new one. A challenged one. I like your son in law. Nice person. Knows his stuff..Shelby is a nice asset to the team. You have a wonderful group. Thanks to your understanding nature. God Bless you all.
Little Suggestion, some type of light bar and/or traffic control on the rear top of the trailer. I know it is work in progress.
I have to admit when I saw the pink helmet in the before you watch picture I thought Gavin! Nope Shelby lol. Good to see Shelby. Hope Gavin is good. ❤
Never turn your back on traffic. Especially when you are having to walk in the travel lane . Glad yall got the job done safely and everyone got to go home to their family.
13:45 "I need a hammer.." 'Hold on. Let me just apply my boot'
God Bless all you drivers and to the officers . Stay safe out there in this crazy world of ppl driving
Good Morning There My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & Yes I Am Still Praying For You & You're Whole Family & All Of You're Whole Staff & Everyone Else As Well
Great job Ron. Traffic is nuts. Here in western Canada law is slow to 60kms an hour and move over!
Great to finally see talon back on towing...from the looks of his belly , I think he has spent too much time behind the desk and needs to get back to towing with you more...lol😅
Great to see the boys out on the job. Shelby seems to be fitting right into the crew

That is scary out there great job everyone working together. I see Shelby is getting the hang of things. and great to see talon out and doing things.
Always nice to see an artist at work...
It does take a lot of work to be safe, but in the end it is MOST definitely worth it.
Now get the NEW rig dirty.
Bless you.
As always, you have an excellent team and they have an excellent teacher.
Good job Ron👍
That driver is a magician! He made his front steer tires disappear! Lol😂
Great video. Saw the rotator rolling out at the same time. Wonder where it was going?
Thank you for another great video. Cheers
I was wondering why you weren't towing the hazmat trailer with the traffic control truck until I realized that the trailer would block the light bar. Might want to mount some flashing lights on that trailer. And if that crew cab Ram is your POV, it's a nice truck!
Good to see Talon back in a truck I remember back when you was training Talon
I'm glad to see Talon working with on this job I miss not helping you like he used to when I started watching your videos God Bless you all keep up the wonderful work 😂
not only HAZMAT, NEW 18, & TRAFFIC CONTROL AT THE SAME TIME!! ... but bonus Talon
It is good to see Talon out there. I haven’t seen him in a while. Another great video, thank you for sharing!
Ole talon is working on that office Dad body ! Good to see talon on a video again ..
So glad to see Talon again. Always enjoy watching your team working together.
Love seeing the CVPI P71 still in service!!!!!!!! Good shot Ron that is a dinosaur of a Ford Vehicle.
It is always great to see your team working together like a well oiled machine. Good to see Talon out there filling in for Ethan. Ethan still responded and stayed in a safe zone while providing assistance. Shelby is still learning the job and will do well with the rest of the team. STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
Always a cool video recovering a vehicle. Great job team!! I am going to throw you a suggestion: Add a light bar or lighted direction arrow to the roof of your hazmat trailer.
Aww it’s great to see Talen out in about he definitely now has the Dad bod and the dad glasses. Just happy to see the family out there together
Good work u all looking good out there stay safe 🙏👍👍👍👍👍🤗
Prayers always
Nice work, that was a super dangerous area to work in on that bridge. Thankfully people slowed down eventually.
Great job everyone involved glad no one was hurt and the driver is safe and the Midwest crew is safe as well. 23:54
Bravo!! Excellent!!
I was a volunteer firefighter in Germany for 25 years. In my hometown, the fire brigade also had to take care of a section on the A73 (motorway 73). In spite of repeated warnings, some motorists simply drive past an accident site on the motorway like the disturbed. Sometimes you have to block a lane completely to be able to work unhindered. Always comes back healthy from such operations, because even here in Germany there are always accidents at emergency sites, in which car drivers or even truck drivers drive to secured accident sites.
Thank you!
Haven’t seen a highway video in a while. Glad to see it all worked out well
“The tires?” LOL
Hi, Talon. Glad to see you in the field.
Yay Talon is back in a truck Glad to see him again we miss him
Good to see Talon. It has been a while. Shelby seems like she is learning quickly. Good job by all of you.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
