This is one of my favorite scenes from Downton Abbey. Seeing everyone from downstairs getting dressed like this was awesome! Ms. Patmore switching the names to sit with Mr. Mason was great! She is one sharp lady! Mosley being offered a good paying job that he will be very happy with. He and Ms Baxter finally making it official, with everyone listening in, was heartwarming. So much more greatness in this scene than I have time to write about. Love this show!
YES! I'm all for this! Also I would love a movie focusing on Dowager Violet's young years. Having said that, PETITION for Anya Taylor-Joy to play a young Violet! 😄🙌❤️
I just realized that this is another take on an old Hollywood movie. Singing in the Rain. The dubbing of the big stars voice which is bad for talkies. The other was the rose competition taken from Mrs. Miniver. Not that it matters. Imitation is a sincere form of flattery and it was well done.
The second movie was absolutely brilliant, I enjoyed it so much! The family going on vacation, seeing different locations as well as the old ones we knew, DA becoming a film set, the servants dressing up…it was all lovely and I adore it! Can’t wait for the 3rd one aaaaaaaaa!
DA 3 is announced for September 2025. On Wikipedia the cast is listed. They are all there, including Barrow, and even Denker, but missing Septimus Spratt. And of course no Dowager Duchess 😢
Having the servants dress up as aristocrats was a bit contrived and schmaltzy but a lot of fun. It will be interesting to see what they do with the next film.
Yes, but in fact we are. We see her through Mary. Violet trained, forged and moulded her well. Mary has strengthened, found her place in the world and no longer rebels against it and everyone she loves her around her. She is with age and life experience, slowly becoming wise. Like Violet, she will become a wise old sage with as witty and sharp a tongue as her grandmother.
I've sat for the last few weeks watching downton abbey from the first season now on the last and absolutely loved it. Think I'm going to find the era sad
Anna is so beautiful in this scene!! When I looked at it for the first time I had a thing, like "My baby is so beautiful and has evolved so much since the first season"🥹
I hate to spoil things for you...but the Dowager Countess takes her final curtain call. 😢💔 That's why Dr. Clarkson was at the house. I dare anyone to watch that scene and not become quite dewey eyed.
To be honest, Thomas deserves to have a happy and honest life, and him leaving to California is great, but we will miss this huge persona of Downton. If there are any potentional future stories, I'd love to see the writers making some kind of a miracle, so we see Thomas again.
This is the funniest scene in the whole Downton abbey. Love the shocking and awkward reaction of every downstair staffs on the table 😂, Mr. Bates' looking angry at Guy, Anna and Thomas looked super confused. And finally, Mr. Mosley and Miss Baxter's Happy ending.
Why are people talking about this one as if it is just coming out. It was released in 2022. I rented the DVD and made myself a copy, shortly after the theater run. This YT Vid here is only a couple weeks old, and I saw an article that touted the movie as if this was new Downton Abbey coming out.
I noticed a real shift in the after series where the characters all seemed too happy, too just on the cusp of a smile. It lost a lot of its credibility for me this way.
I agree. I guess we miss rollercoaster conflict a bit? Even the 2019 still much better. But, overall i can take the lighter story for once. Let them be happy after so much suffer. And, don't forget in this sequel the Dowager Countess was dead 😢
I tried to edit my comment just now and it would only let me delete. Since when can't we edit? So there's a new season coming out with new players or old players reuniting I'm not sure?
@@WellbredNfedKembleTV No new series. There have been two full-length movies. This clip is from the second one. I heard very recently that they have a script for a third full-length movie, but that will likely be the end.
I've loved downton but a big part of it is the struggles of natural life, this all seems a tied up in a pink bow and every man in the world falling for Lady Mary who must be 40 by now is getting a bit old.
Did I miss a movie? Where is Mary's second husband? I always forget his name. He's so unmemorable. And I thought Tom married the cute little blonde lady that worked with Edith.
Henry Talbot, and he is supposedly travelling the world racing or selling cars. The actor wasn't available for this film due to other shooting commitments.
@@inurihettiarachchi9780 Well, I'll say he was the most easily manipulated by her. He was best for her in that way. I think Mrs. Hughs had it right, she's an "uppity little minx". 😄
Matthew Goode was likely unavailable. He only made a glorified cameo in the first film (despite being billed alongside the main cast), first appearing about 15 minutes before the end credits. And I'm not sure which "cute little blonde" you're talking about. Branson's new wife (played by Tuppence Middleton) was introduced in the first movie.
Love this scene especially for Mr Mosely and Mrs Baxter. Absolutely love this show and binge watch routinely.
Molesley; Miss Baxter.
@@susanwoosnam1697 An understandable mistake I have made too. No harm done.
@@inamorata966 the Molesley is tricky to hear but I remember from credits and have come across it elsewhere.

If Sybil were alive, she would have loved to be apart of this.
I hope they never stop making stories for Downton Abbey, it captures me from the very first scene........ wonderful. 🎉

I hope you'll be as happy as this cruel world allows. Lady M can be cruel sometimes but when she's kind...so sweet!
This entire scene was my favourite from A New Era

Well, I assumed both were historical fiction based on the real life transition from silent films to talkies.
For Context, 700 Guineas from 1930 (closest year for data) in 2024 Pound Stirling is £33,500 and 1000 Guineas is £48,000.
I want that job
I just came to the comments for just that info, thanks.
"You've spent enough time standing."
Downton a new era was such pure fan service and I loveeee them for that
The movies are basically Christmas episodes, but with bigger budgets.
Miss this show. Loved Downton Abbey Show.❤❤

Anna looked lovely dressed up as an aristocrat, which makes sense because she already was pretty in servants clothes.
Love it always have done. It's so beautifully done. The Brits are brilliant at this sort of thing.
I think we're all happy for Mr Mosley to finally have some luck, but I loved the sister's banter at the end the most somehow.
This really lifted my spirits! I need a Downton rewatch!
It’s sad not seeing the Dowager Countess

Lady Violet: What is going on here?
We're filming a movie Granny.
Lady Violet: Very well, proceed.
I am still waiting for a third movie... a new season... whatever, as long as it about Downton Abbey and the people living there. Please, thank you!

Mr Molesley, on his way to make generational wealth 😂❤

watching it is like a therapy for me
Love Downton Abby very much.
I have watched Downtown Abbey from the beginning and now unable to find the second movie 😮😢! Put back on PBS for all to watch 😂😂
It’s on Netflix (uk) now
See my problem is I can't find the first movie, only the second one:( hahaha

Mrs. Hughes could pass as an aristocrat hadnt we known she's the housekeeper
Mrs Pathmore and mrs Huges looks absolutely lovely ❤
Robert: I would say this is the strangest thing that's happened in this room but that strictly speaking wouldn't be true.
I love Michelle D. As Mary, especially. A bit pompous but a good hearted character.
