Makaela is a “really good kid from a small town” according to her dentist Dr Sara Mahaffey from Springfield who referred her to us for her severe ear pain and TMJ pain. Makaela has been suffering with this for over 3 ½ years despite trying various remedies through her physician and ENT specialist. Yet she was going to college to be a pharmacist and working as a pharmacy tech also. Even though she was only 20 years old, she was constantly tired and found it hard to get restful sleep. Makaela was not going to let her ear pain, jaw pain, migraines, back pain, hip pain and knee pain or fatigue keep her from pursuing her goals in life. But it was taking a toll on her. She had no energy left for social life or anything fun.
Makaela went through detailed diagnostic tests including our unique "Raman CCMD Protocol" of Physiologic Neuro Muscular Dental (PNMD) procedure to determine the optimal jaw and neck alignment. She was then fitted with a neuromuscular fixed orthotic for 90 days as a reversible phase 1 treatment. This is both a therapeutic and diagnostic step.
Within the first week of Phase 1 Fixed orthotic, her symptoms were improving significantly. Her migraines resolved immediately. By 3 months, most of her symptoms were resolved even more. Her sleep improved. She was able to eat normally. Her jaw pain with chewing was resolved 100%. She even had resolution of her back pain and hip pain.
