Jason, have you thought of becoming a teacher? Your pacing, explaination, and speech are so smooth. No bullcrap, no jokes or trying to be funny. No stuttering, or unclear instructions. I subscribed dude, thank you!
I can FINALLY start using X-Plane 11 properly after watching this video! If you visit India, you can stay at my house and use my sister. Thank you very much!
Dude you have a gift. You explain things so simply that i immediately cranked up the sim as soon as this tutorial was over. Great job man. I've fought with all of those functions for years and you made them super easy to understand in just minutes. Thank you for all you do man.
I realize this is an old video but man am I grateful to have finally found a step by step simple to understand tutorial for this thing. There is nothing initially intuitive about this unit but after this video I was at least able to plan a route / fly direct to. Thank you! Now, if ya could just make another video for the rest of the buttons???
Really good reference for negginers like me! Learn to fly alone and without any knowledge of airplanes and navigation is not ease. So, these videos are the best we, plane lovers, have! Thanks a lot!!!🙂
Your tutorial videos are the most helpful for me, you talk very slowly and explains everything into details. I love that, I am very new to this flight simulator but by using these tutorial videos I’ve learned how to fly really good using both air traffic controller and the GPS systems! Don’t stop the good work!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your videos. You are the only one who explains everything in an easy to understand way for someone new to flight sim's like myself. I am enjoying the game so much more now!
I love your videos and the fact that you (at least you seem to be) are Canadian makes your instruction all them more relevant for me. Keep them coming as they are much appreciated! Thank you.
such a simple and clear explanation. Thank you sir. Your simply great bro. please keep up the good job of tutoring us. RESPECT for the time that you put into these videos.
Once you are in the air how do you get the 530 to update the destination heading after reaching a new waypoint? For instance, I followed the same flight plan you developed here, but my DTK is consistently set at the heading for the first waypoint and does not update to subsequent waypoints after I pass the first one. Thanks!
It's been almost 5 years. Has anybody noticed that the 2 links mentioned at 0:28 are _not_ in the video description? I noticed in 28 seconds! :-) Now, back to the video...
I'm sure Garmin could have made a more cumbersome and convoluted UI if they tried, but this is a good effort. Probably top 5 worst I've ever seen. Great video tho! :D
Great video Tutorial. I like to recommend videos on Traffic Pattern, wind corrections, crosswind Take off and Landings and emergency procedures.. thanks
For those like me on MOBILE - To turn the outer knob / move to the next slot: while HOLDING THE BUTTON, use your OTHER FINGER to SLIDE left or right. :)
We would like to see a flight plan, like this example, being executed, used to navigate a real time flight. I personally have seen many vidios about how to build a F.P. , but no one on how to follow it on a flight. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the great video! I've got a question. What should you do if while approaching the emergency airfield you find that visual landing is not possible? How to tune up for ILS landing while in the air?
@@HalloumiFlies The only aircraft I can do instrumental landing is MD82. After approaching the airfield equipped with ILS you should recognize it's frequency and orientation. These meanings you can find on the Map (m button). And from there you'll be able to put them right to your plane's ILS . Then orient your plane into the ILS sector at the proper altitude. Switch off following GPS(!), activate instrumental landing and pray. Remember to take full control nearby the land or after touchdown.
On FSX when, on the Nearest you can highlight the desire station / AP click enter and retrieve all the info about the Station /AP, how does it work on XP, cuz clicking on the highlighted Station/AP does nothing ???? besides the Build in G530 doesn't get you the complete information like ILS frequencies Etc
Great video and guide to the 530. Do the rollover arrows always show in pop-up mode? I don't see them and cannot tune the COM .000 frequency with the left dial. This is on a default installation with no add-ons. I have posted on the .org but wanted to ask if you had experienced this too?
In pop-up mode the knob works but for some reason the arrows don't show up. I am also using a default installation. If you are trying to tune in the COM to an ILS frequency, you could always use the map and select the runway. It now has the option to auto tune into the correct COM frequency.
Your videos are great, however I used your technique and my Cessna does not follow the flight plan, also when I start a new flight the old flight plan is still in the gps I wish there was just an easy way to erase all old data (flight plans, approach etc)
5 years later this video is helping a n00b. Thank you so much.
You're the only person who explains things in beginners terms. Thank you!
i'm new and need your help.....how do i get the GPS screen, xplane11

Thank you so much for explaining this in a clear and concise way.

Thanks for the great video! I've got a question. What should you do if while approaching the emergency airfield you find that visual landing is not possible? How to tune up for ILS landing while in the air?
andrefimenko I came here to try and find the exact same answer. I now know how to fly there, but what about an ILS landing once we arrive?
