Excellent tutorial. I have been trying to understand this for the past five years. Made some progress in FSX, but when moved to MSFS 2020, it became very difficult to follow things. Last month I got X-plane 12 and getting hangs of things. This is the only video so far which is so helpful.
Thank you Ryan, between your voice inflection and the way you put your explanation, I now am getting it all correct on my nav and gps setup. I've seen half a dozen using gps on youtube but yours seemed to really bring in home. Very much like Carlos Miguel said 2 years ago. Keep up the "real" explanations for non-pilots.
Just an addendum to his great video, if you press M and pull up the map, you can select and approach on the right side select show glide slope and it will give you a visual of the glide shope so you can see when to enter and what altiude to enter and flaps.
3yrs ago and I found your vid just today, it really clarified my question about how to actually use the GPS in this game, I'm really new to this, so your vid helped a lot, tyvm!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for sharing step by step instructions that even I can understand. The ILS approach has kicked my butt trying to sort it out on my own so this was fantastic!
Thanks Ryan no frills mumbo jumbo we ain't trying to fly to the moon just want to learn how to use the freaking GPS without reading the manual 🤣🤣🤣... kudos best tutorial I have seen
I've asked many but no help yet. How do you zoom out to get the view you have. I can zoom out just so much and that's it. I did post a video on it if you want to check it out. Getting really frustrated. Thanks
Well explained, thanks so much for sharing, please give me an advice why some time my saitek autopilot doesn't exist, for me to take over the flight, eventhough I turned off the autopilot, the plane still follows the autopilot, I haven't tried to turn off GPS or Nave manually yet, to see how the flight will react, is that the reason ?
When your about to land, disengage the autopilot or it starts to dive and spiral down to a crazy dive and you crash, he says it in the video, sorry for a late answer!

Such a good tutorial!
Mine doesnt have the AP button
Thanks for the info!
thank you bro you helped me a lot
Why did your altimeter say 1500 ft. on landing? Is that the elevation in Pittsburg?
Maybe that's why my ILS approach's haven't worked. The heading bug!! Thanks maaaaate!

Really easy to understand video, thanks!
Wait till speed is in the white arc before engaging flap!!!

Look at the yoke, if you see the red button then press it, it will disconnect the autopilot. Hope that helps.
@@Nathanielthepotato No my yoke it's not programmed that way , I programmed the ATC to the that, it's cool I figured it out 😊👍
What I do if I don’t have the AP button?
im in the same boat lol
It's on the yoke.
Ohh thank you. Its great!.
Nice tutorial. But near the airport the ILS became haywire and I lost the plane. At what point I disengage the autopilot.

what if arr airport doesnt have ILS ?
Thanks!
Thankss !!
I've followed this closely but still not managing 😢
Can you make another video without moving the camera like it is on steroids. Too choppy.
Good explanation with the worse video capture.... there a lot of application to capture your screen .... my like anyway---
