One of my favorite things to do with solid state amps as of recently is stick a 6 or 10 band graphic EQ in the FX Loop to help simulate the effect that the power amp has on shaping the tone of a tube amplifier. I’ve watched videos here of people plugging the FX send of one amplifier into the FX Return of another amplifier, and it really does wind up changing the sound of an amp in a unique way. I’ve noticed you can get a similar effect with a solid state amplifier by simply using some kind of graphic EQ in the loop to adjust the low and high end frequencies that an amplifier may be lacking. It really is a game changer from the perspective of making a solid state amp capable of competing with most tube heads. I use one with my Randall RG3003H and with the volume of a 150 watt tube amplifier head and a graphic EQ in the loop it’s more than enough to compete with the modern workhorse tube amps of today.
Well done Dario. Nice playing and excellent tone. I have a 100 watt HCFX head (among other amps Tube, solid state and hybrid --Vox Valvetronix) I also have stuff from Johnson,Line 6, Zoom, and Vox for digital amp modelling. Also analog pedals. You could say I have all bases covered....Anyway you are correct the MG/HCFX series are very underated amps. A good cab and cables are always a must. And a good EQ pedal and a Noise Gate on OD2 is an awesome trick to get the most out of the amp. The other great thing is it takes pedals so well and even have an optional FX loop foot switchable. Marshall thought of everything. Do not get why spme hate the amp. Oh well. all the more for us I guess. Check out Dave Simpson and these amps. He hets the most out of the HD series more than anyone I have seen. Thanks, Cheers! Subscribed. Take care.
@@dariorizricci5358 That is usually the downfall of solid state. How does it sound cranked? Agreed you can't "dime" an MG like you can a JCM 800. Have you tried Boss Katana or Orange Crush for solid state? what did you think? I love tubes, but I also love convenience. Cheers, keep rockin'

I own about 16 different amps large and small, tube and solid state... Everytime i tell someone that the MG100 HDFX isnt as bad as you might think, i get laughed at... Its a fun solid state that definitely has the Marshall vibe to its voicing... Is it a JCM800? Of course not... But its not shite at all.
It's an honest amp, and does the work... specially if you can't or don't want use a tube amp. At home I play almost only with this and with the mosfet lead 100
why is no one talking about this dude's playing? i fucking loved that, you rock dude, hope to get on that level some day lol
Thanks!
NO SHIT!!!!! KILLER!!!!

Yes I always do this (plus an SD1 on the front specially on the lead 100 mosfet) when i play live
bro you are insane! that shred was nuts
my mind is blown. you are the metal wizard!!!!. love the sound of this HFX! you rock!
Thanks!
I have never heard these amps sound this good before wtf.
Sounds killer. The MG series is born for metal.
I use it for practice at home and in studio with band (I prefer valves live). With a good equalization the sounds are really good
That's some mighty tasty shred my friend, and the MG sounds great for it!
That was awesome bro. Greetings from Peru.
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing/ It was really nice/

Yes, only at high volumes the sound begins to suffer on the MG (for high volumes, I prefer a lot the Marshall lead 100 mosfet)
