The problem with this kind of older people is that they are sometimes simply too ignorant to understand the arguments/statements from the other side.

For real. If someone refers to any handheld device as "an iPhone" then you know they should be kept far away from any technology-related topic. Also he should ask himself why a 7 year old is allowed a smartphone with free internet access. So many parents treat them like they're mere game devices like gameboys back in the day.

so many of these questions are extremely leading and would NEVER be allowed in a fair court of law. This shit is so disgusting. Most of the topics here aren't even about the internet, they just involve basic technological literacy. These congressmen and women simply do not possess that kind of literacy. Hopefully in a few decades those buildings will be filled people who do, which would allow them to form educated and informed opinions in order to create useful legislation. In 10-15 years, there will be a generation of people who have never known a time in which the iphone didn't exist and are old enough to be eligible for holding federal office. As someone who's not quite that young but young enough to relate to them, they will enter politics with an EXTREMELY different outlook on the world than the ones currently in office do. They will be more pessimistic yet less self-centered. To me, that's closer to ideal.
That's to say if there will be a world left in 10-15 years if Russia doesn't nuke the world in to orbit. Jokes aside you are right in what you say, hopefully when the majority of older congressmen and women have retired and the younger generations take-up seats and actually have informed opinions and the basic/advanced technological literacy, the world (hopefully) will be a better, more understanding place for future legislation. In the UK it's pretty much the same with the older generations not fully understanding or are too stubborn to understand how technology and the internet works so they push these ridiculous rules and legislation to make it harder for companies and for the common person, the sooner they are out of office the better imo.
" they will enter politics with an EXTREMELY different outlook on the world"
Yeah, you're already seeing it, like with men in womens sports for example.
Unfortunately, that generation is long lost right now, just a quick peak in twitter and any other social media shows how the kids today are, those kids mindsets are the same as these old fools in congress self-entitled, selfish and idiot...
The difference is they (kids today) fight over 2D characters and their anime ships, fight over pronouns, fight over gays and les are far above everyone instead of being fair and mutual, they send death threat to anyone who are opposite of them, they're hypocrite: example is if a person is fat and someone just point to the fat person those kids say you're fatphobic (and say My body, My choice) but if the same fat person decides to lose weight they say THAT person is fatphobic (simply they say Your body, My choice)...
The list is long if I'm going to name everything here and sadly their numbers (those kids) are growing in an alarming rate

Completely agree. Why should the world be ran by an older generation who's got nothing to do with current and future generations? I say this and people say "well because they have more experience", but that is just hypocritical. More experience in politics, yes. But not more experience in relation to the world's current society status. Plus there are many young aspiring people who have better leadership skills anyways, and I much prefer being led by a younger leader (who has more experience with the current world and technology), rather than being led by an experienced old man who's nothing but politically power hungry.
I'd argue that up to 60 year olds can handle it.

Did the guy in the lay question of the first video just explain google classroom?
Respect for that guy not laughing and seriously answering every stupid old person question.
last dude in the first vid literally explained what google is
Facebook settings is pretty damn hard to navigate.
this is actually painful. this sounds kinda harsh but i kinda can’t wait until the future where we only have people that have at least decent understanding of tech, the world would be a lot different lol
@Pontus Andersson These old people didn't grow up with the growing technology, it's something you never unlearn i believe.
I have grown up early 90's and tech was always changing, much more then recent years tbh
when the tech ppl try to answer the question the senate legit just interrupts them bc they don’t understand what they are talking about
This thumbnail explains 90% of parents in a nutshell
"When you are young, they assume you know nothing." Most of the older people nowadays didn't want to be schooled at. And that is the problem. They get angry when you didn't let them be disrespectful or ignorant towards you. Lol. As for these boomers, they have the power and time but they don't want to "waste their time" understanding the new generation because for them it was just a "waste of time". How sad. I can't even bare the cringe on these boomers. Also it was funny that there are senators who asked questions like privacy that is protected by the law. Lol.
Its not just that boomers are from a different generation, its as if they think learning new things is not for them.
A boomer had to learn some skill to get the job they had, but they think thats enough. I find it interesting when one says " I worked in (enter blue collar job) and that is what I know, but I just do not understand computers.
I have a boomer relative, he has had the same brick and mortar store for decades and has done fairly well. Its 2023, he is past the age most people retire, but now he is ready to roll up his sleeves and finally start selling his merchandise online. The problem is, he knows very little about computers, the internet, and knows next to nothing about running an online business.
He asked me if I could help him sell things online. I told him, that since I have a full time job, I am not going to have the time to be his partner in his online business, but I could spend 20 minutes or so, helping him set up an account on amazon and "give him some pointers".
He always says " but I do not have time to learn how to do all this, can't you do it, I can pay you"
If he does not have a few hours on a Saturday to watch you tube tutorial videos, then he does not have time to run an online business.
I once tried to explain how buying clothes online works. After spending about 10 minutes explaining how to go to a site like amazon, how to search for clothes by brand or type and size. After all that explaining he says
"but how do they know what you want"?
Online shopping is a mystery to him. I do not think he is ready to sell anything online.
This video looks like it was filmed in prehistoric time
