So ultimately if the best deepfake recognizing algorithm is made, it will ultimately being used against the "improver" algorithm, and it will end up being beaten. By improving the recognition of those, we actually improves them, and that's the problem.

This is easy problem but made difficult. Numbers are the easiest things to manipulate. Thats why we have audit to varify the credibility of the information. Literally, that could be applied to video. Before uploading, the company (ie UA-cam etc) should have a team that varify the video. Anyone who know about auditing, they only reduces the risks of false information. I believe this is at least better than not having someone who can varify the video.

High quality images provide more pixels for the computer to adjust lower image qualitys cannot so i can record on a potato and a deep fake wont work especially not being in a well lit area
You can essentially already use things like Stable diffusion to just create images like that. Sometimes not even intentional, you have to specifically add a negative prompt to not include illegal things, or else there's a chance one of the image generations includes it.
