My Favorite Horror Is Paranormal Activity And Blair Witch And House On Haunted Hill
I'm a very new fan. I found you in the recommended section of my usual commentary youtubers, (all the stand up comedy white guys), but honestly I love ALL of your videos. for example, I don't usually watch decorating videos or vlogs, but I love your making your house spooky video and day in the life vlogs. I hope you see this, because even tho you say you expired from UA-cam, I think new people who will genuinely enjoy your content will still find it. When you blow up on any social media platform, like 99% of the people see it just because its popular and not because they can genuinely appreciate it. I just hope you can think of it less like lacking social relevance and more like a filter, only letting new fan material pass through :)
Was is the difference between Suspense and Thriller?
I feel like Get Out is a perfect movie for beginners because it’s not gory or anything that would bother a lot of people but it is suspenseful and is overall just a really good movie (not a classic but will definitely be in the future)
Plus the symbolism & the mystery of trying to figure out wtf is going on lmao...
I've never seen get out
@@melissawinn3295 it’s great you should watch it...I’m sure it’s on Netflix right now
Gotta agree with you
@@usethis4511 I don't think k it is but I haven't checked
I would def say to watch Scream after watching the classic slashers like Halloween and Friday the 13th since the Scream franchise basically spoils them all!!!
You're not wrong, lol
Oh my godddd I agree. I never recommend scream as a starter because it won’t be as enjoyable if you don’t have prior knowledge or appreciation for classic slasher
I watched it before and I'm glad I did. it's still my favorite slasher
Disagree, i think Scream perfectly works as a separate, standalone slasher
@@my3rs307 absolutely! i would just recommend watching it after the classics to new horror fans due to the spoiler’s but also it ain’t that big a deal if not😂
I recommend the haunting of hill house for beginners, which I know is weird because it is definitely scary. My argument is that my husband hates scary movies and is easily scared but he binged that series and still raves about it. It’s a must see!
I 100% agree. I’ve introduced plenty of people to horror through that show because it has a deeper message that most people don’t usually associate or expect with the horror genre.
I really don't like the haunting of hill house but I TOTALLY agree! People new to horror seem to really enjoy it, which is so fun
Same here! Watched it with a friend that HATES horror and was really hooked to the show (and scared too lmao) and enjoyed it :)
that's why i came here lol i loved hill house so much and wanted more horror
I'm not a horror fan, but DEFINITELY I'd say "Cabin in the woods". It's just perfect. So full of references, so funny, yet so well done and intriguing. And the ending. OMG. THE ENDING?? That was brilliant... It's my favourite horror movie by far. :D
I haven't understood why it's so popular, I thought it was so cringe but I was a teenager when I watched it so maybe I should give it another chance 😂 I like the idea of it a lot though! I guess as a non horror fan (I get scared to easily) I missed some references and jokes! Really interesting to hear you perspective!
One of the horror movies that made me love the genre! Great recommendation
I think people who have already watched many horror films will appreciate Cabin In The Woods so much more
I agree! Cabin in the Woods is an awesome film. So self-aware with just the right amount of cheese. And the homage to other classic films/creatures is second to none!
I think that it might also be good for beginners. Some tropes are known by everyone (the killer that kills the couple while they're... intimating, the virgin innocent, the dumb blonde, and I can't remember if there's also the "black guy dies first) and some references may ignite the curiosity to investigate more of where are they from. Even start reading Lovecraft. :P
For me is like "look, this is a tour of what this genre has to offer, sit down, relax, enjoy, and let's see what we have next! Maybe some more cabin slaughter? Maybe Hellraiser? Or maybe water monsters or japanese horror films?".
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! i was never allowed to watch horror growing up so i feel super behind, and there are sooo many movies it can feel intimidating without guidance. happy spooky season 💜
Haha when your parents don't care what you watched as a kid, so these are just childhood favorites. 😄
Haha! My tattoo artist and his wife took their seven year old daughter to the horror con in Toronto because she loves the genre so much!
Lucky…my mom is like a cop
Can someone explain to me why I have a boat load list of movies I want to watch that I’ve never seen but I always end up watching the same old movies I’ve already seen. 🤷♀️
So I definitely lean to older cinema, especially when I don't want to be scared or maybe just prefer a good/simple story? Here are five I think could be added to this list.
Psycho (1960) - a must see classic, not scary, but full of dread and suspense
House (1977) - your list lacked some foreign language picks, this is one that is kind of scary but very accessible to anyone
Phantasm (1979) - a recent discovery for me, amazing score, a few great scares, but lots of mystery and intrigue, highly recommend
The Changeling (1980) - a well acted haunted house/ghost story with no gore but lots of beautiful, gothic atmosphere
Poltergeist (1982) - some terrifying scenes but this is such a good movie for the entire family, everyone has to see this
I watched Poltergeist once and never understand why everyone loves it. Said that, Phantasm and The Changeling are amazing gems
@@stroervor it's a big mainstream film with good performances,a believable family, and for the time pretty good special effects. not everything has aged well but it's a compelling family drama at its core and I think you can understand why it should at least be watched, especially for beginners.
Great list! I would add The Innocents (1961) for pure atmosphere and subtle terror. 👻
Just to note if anyone isn't into slow paced films the Changling is a snooze fest imo
@@stroervor poltergeist is boring sf
Ok but Jaws (the og) hits VERY well even today! The effects are very impressive still and the scares are awesome. I encourage a rewatch!
I actually think the performances and cinematography are the best aspects of the movie. The effects, while servicable for the time, are a bit rough in some areas, especially with the shark.
My 5 years old daughters favourite film lol she loves sharks 😊
My gf doesn’t really like horror but makes the effort to watch some movies like these ones, which have great characters, stories and aren’t too intense. I just wanted to say that she watched Gonjiam thanks to your review and she deeply enjoyed it!! So thank you! 😬😊
I would add Guillermo del Toro’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It has almost no gore and is generally pretty tame but the visuals and writing are insane. It has some of the traditional tropes and the story is kind of cheesy, but overall a fantastic watch for a newcomer to the horror genre.
I watched this recently it wasn't to bad
I remember watching disturbia when I was in 6th grade and not finding it too bad. I was so scared of things back then too. I did have to leave the lights on in the house for a while but for people looking into horror, it might be a good starter. Some gore, some jump scares, but not too bad. And Shia LaBeouf… enough said.
One of my favorite movies
It's so good!
I forgot about that one! I used to love it
First off just wanted to say thanks for the content Sarah❤️ knew you were having a hard time filming this but you can’t tell one bit! Secondly OMG you mentioned the classics but not chucky!! I know they aren’t your thing but definitely check these out if your a beginner they aren’t to scary!❤️
I appreciate how kind you are to beginners. Iv seen and experienced a lot of very "gatekeepy" responses to newbie recommendations that involves tones like: "horror is scary, if you can handle scary go watch a comedy."
that elitist mentality is so toxic and I want to prove that EVERYONE can find enjoyment in the genre! I’ll always have a good rec for a beginner 😊
This mentality is flawed by nature because people are different from one another, so what scares a person is inherently different from what scares the other. My mom is terrified of Evil Dead but I laugh my ass off watching it, while I'm super scared of the film Communion while most people find it goofy or simply not really horror.
Creepshow definitely got me more into horror especially bc I love how campy and how much variety there is in both the original and newer series. I did accidentally watched the lake blob episode of creep show with my dad though :(
House on Haunted Hill (1959) is one of the most fun horror movies I’ve ever seen, and I love it to death :)
just watched it today, fun one if antiquated
I love the 1999 remake more than the original one
I love the 1999 remake more than the original one
“Gremlins” and “Ghoulies” were the first two that came to mind. My personal favorite horror movie is “Re-Animator”, which tends to be more campy than scary, but it definitely has a good helping of gore. “An American Werewolf In London” is also a good choice. There is a little bit of gore, but it strikes a good balance between horror and comedy.
Good call on Gremlins. Saw that one as a young boy & it was legitimately dark if not outright scary.
Jason c. Parker you should be making these videos. Not Stephanie(not sure what her name is)
Good choices~ Althought maybe even the original adaptation of "It" it's too scary for beginners. Tim Curry was fantastic on that one. Some oldies like "Psycho" or the original zombie trilogy of George A. Romero would be for me also good ways to start on the genre, if you don't mind watching older movies.
I'm still a horror beginner myself, but I'd really like to recommend Train to Busan! I didn't think it was that scary, and it's genuinely very good with an amazing cast. Very sad though so be prepared to cry
not scary, but it is incredibly intense, because it uses its setting and lack of weapons well and creates a lot of thrills and tension from it.
I would recommend The Lost Boys. It’s not too scary, although the vampires can be kind of creepy. There’s a little bit of gore, but there’s generally not much. It’s also pretty lighthearted, and the jokes land well. I think Kiefer Sutherland does a really good job in this movie.
For beginners I recommend:
The exorcist
The Texas chain saw massacre
Hereditary
Saw
And u can’t forget martyrs
Your literally my go to feel good horror channel I watch a lot of other horror channels but I can always expect feeling good after watching your vids
I would recommend the OG Night of the Living Dead. It's way more a story about people than it is zombies.
yeah honestly when i first started getting into horror i did a mix of classics and not super scary, great video !
For the record, I don't really care if everyone agrees with everyone on opinion based things like this. I love horror, and I find horror content creators who's vibe I like. I will watch some of their recommendations, but even if I don't agree don't mean anything. We are all different people with different perspectives. The few who think we all need to adhere to some weird horror fan code need to grow up.
BUT I love this list. I have seen almost everything but now I have a few more to add to my watch list! Thank you! If anything, I think it would be cool if you started make some series based around Monster Movies. I know you've done a lot of sub genres, and even decade lists. But what about some monster love? Like a list just for Vampire movies, or Alien movies (did you do this? I know you did space...) or even super cheesy monster movies (like the original Godzilla! it's considered a horror).
I've watched countless hours of gut wrenching online horror videos but something about watching a horror movie rather than video makes me anxious as I've never seen one
Great video and list as always! My very first intro to horror was the original Chucky movies, the Child's Play trilogy and it made me fall in love with the genre instantly. It ticked all the boxes for me. It was scary (at least for me), but not too much, it had a decent amount of gore and they were all fun. And later Bride Of Chucky put together everything i love about horror. It prepared me to the rest of the genre. Paranormal Activity, Scream and Blair With Project were some of my firsts as a beginner fan too and i recommend them to everyone. I think supernatural/ghost moves in general are a great start if anybody's wanna get into horror, cause mostly, they not all that disturbing.
I recently watched Children of the Corn for the first time and I feel like that would be a good beginner Stephen King movie 🌽 it’s creepy but not too scary or gross. Also I LOVE Creepshow 😍♥️
I love horror movies! I would put Cabin in the woods, Scary Stories to tell in the dark, 47 Meters Down, The Strangers, and Escape Room in this list
Thank you for putting where they can be streamed! I agree with Scream, Jennifer's Body, Carrie, and Signs. I also think the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies aren't too bad for beginners
In addition to the slashers and stuff you recommended, which I also think is a great starting point, I'd also recommend sci-fi horror movies like The Thing or Alien. They're both absolute classics, and they've aged pretty well, but I actually think that the majority of movie goers in 2021 will be able to make it through them without being traumatized, just because of how influential those movies are, and because how they've proliferated pop culture -- most people will have already seen something similar that was heavily inspired by one of the two.
I'd probably recommend zombie movies. I don't think that zombies are very scary, and there's a lot of different flavors of zombie movie to recommend to different people. Like depending on how much of a chicken the person is, you could start with like 28 Days Later (normal difficulty), or Train to Busan (easy difficulty), or go with something even easier like Shaun of the Dead for a 100% pure beginner who is scared of everything.
I agree on the zombie movies. I would have like to see at least one of those on this list.
Thanks for the tips Isaac! One more zombie fan here.
REC is also a really good zombie movie!! But maybe a little bit too much for beginners
I agree with Train to Busan. It’s fantastic in its visuals and feeling of hopelessness, but doesn’t have too much gore or intensity. It’s just really fast paced with a really unique setting and characters.
Zombie movies terrified ever since I watched “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things” as a child on broadcast TV. I had to be seven, and it came on broadcast TV in the afternoon. It wasn’t until I watched “Return of the Living Dead” on HBO in high school that I could watch another zombie movie.
Rosemary's Baby and House of the Devil! Excellent list, lots of favorites on this. I'd also say the Lost Boys.
Thanks for this video! I've been dipping my toes into the horror genre a bit but I really hate jumpscares, so this video is really helpful. As for my own recommendation, It's a series but I think the haunting of bly manor is good for beginners! It's spooky but no jumpscares and the story is really beautiful :)
I love Scream, but it’s definitely better having seen movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc. beforehand.
3:45 list finally starts
love the new layout for displaying the movie names :D
My personal experience the first time I watched paranormal activity, I couldn't sleep for a whole week. It could also be that elements of my culture background played a big part on how the movie impacted me.
I was terrified honestly I still lived in my old house and some creepy things happened there that affected me. I went to the theaters for all the paranormal activity movies that weren't straight to dvd or streaming.
That movie ruined me for literal days. I had never been so terrified in a theater.
Hmmm, I thought the 1st Saw gonna be in this list! It isn't scary or gory by any means, it feels more like a psychological thriller/detective with a hint of horror, but only, again, psychological. It's just good and gonna be okay for any viewers
3:55 YES let's get that Shyamalan praise! His movies are amazing, he's also my favorite director which is a huge hot take! The Village is my all time favorite movie, and i highly recommend it as well to anyone who hasnt seen it!
The Village was my first "horror " movie and it's one of my favorites honestly this movie is so underrated and it doesn't get talked about enough and I've been looking for people who actually like this movie and so far this is the only video like this that has mentioned it
This was a great list. Jennifer’s Body very quickly I feel made it’s way into being a classic. I will always recommend that movie. Do you watch a lot of Korean thriller/horror?
The first horror movie I watched was nightmare on elm street. Couldn’t have made a better choice. My favorite to this day!
I would also recommend 1408 as a good stater horror movie.i personally love this movie
Highly agree that Scream is so fun to start with!
I remember watching the others! It was my first horror movie experience and it defiantly wasn't too scary. Its a great place to start if your a beginner and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any gore!
im not a huge horror fan bc i get scared easy but i really enjoy stephen king movies. i thought geralds game was amazing... idk if it counts as thriller or horror but i loved it
If you put Jennifer’s Body you have to put Gingersnaps.
I remember that The Sixth Sense was the first ever horror movie I watched and it scared me so much that it took me a long time to start watching horror movies again hahaha but after I came across your channel, I've been challenging myself to watch more horror. Do I still watch them in the day time because I get scared? yes, but hey, it's a start right? HAHAHAHAHA
I totally agree with the Scream franchise. Probably the best place to start. The 6th sense is good, along with the craft and the crow. Funny horror would also be a good in-road like zombie land, Shaun of the Dead and Rocky horror picture show (in a theater If possible). I would add 80's horror with lost boys, the serpent and the rainbow and nightmare on elm st. After you have gotten your toes wet I would head for the classics: Halloween, Friday the 13th and Texas chainsaw massacre, originals before remakes. As for newer movies Hellfest and the fear st movies on Netflix were awesome without being over the top.
Nice recommendations and I agree with the most. I also hate disturbing horror and I'm looking for more in order to like a film. Scream is one of my favourite films I watched in my teens. Shyamalan is one of my favourite directors and I like his combination of horror and thriller. My all time favorite is The Village and it resides 10 years now in my favorite films list (includes every genre) since I started review films but the first film I saw is 6th sense but was too young and quite scared so it stayed in my mind as something not so positive but I appreciated a lot when I watched it 2-3 years ago and there is a good detailed review and explanation of it in UA-cam. I agree, Signs is too overrated. Those three films I've watch more than once and can watch again. From King's adaptations Misery is the one I watched at really young age definitely younger than 12 y.o but stayed in my mind as something really good and definitely need to watch again, The Shining is great not a film intend to scare the hell out of you, is the artistic vision of Kubrick and the details he put in it plus the great cinematography that make the difference in the genre. I call it an artistic horror film. An other favorite is The Mist for an alien horror. I watched The Craft at 2021 and doon became a favorite and I'm intent to watch it on Halloween. Some essential and highly recommended films by me are The last man on Earth of 1964 with Vincent Price, Nosferatu (1922),The Shining, The 6th sense, The Village, Misery, Halloween, the Swedishet the right one in of 2008 and the korean Thirst by Park Chan-wook (the most clearly horror film in my personal list). Now what I don't like and would never recommend is The Triangle (interesting but it looses itself at the end). Same goes for Crawl but this is a really bad film.
I genuinely love The Village and had no idea it was controversial to like until now 😅
I feel like I’m a horror movie fan bc before I could barely watch scary movies alone and now it’s one of my favorite things to do and analyze.
Conjuring was a great movie it was my first horror movie. Not scary at all to me! I recommend!!
Omg I loved crawl and Jennifers Body is one of my fave flm, not just fave horror film!
Ahhhh! Thank you so much. I recently found your channel & honestly, this is exactly what I needed. Obviously I’ve watched all the Halloween films & I’m obsessed with them as well was Scream, but I still consider myself a newbie. I just watched the Texas chainsaw massacre original & remake the other day & had nightmares, so I think I need to slow down right now so this video is perfect for me haha! Thanks girl! Happy Halloween! 🖤🎃
My first horror movies where scream The conjuring and misery
Halloween 1978 isn’t scary nor gory. It’s definitely unnerving and has atmosphere so I say it’s definitely beginner friendly
have you ever watched “all cheerleaders die”? i’m really curious to know your opinion on it. it’s similar to jennifer’s body on that “boys did us wrong and it’s time for revenge now” aspect and even though it’s a “bad” movie i still loved it
I bought that movie when I worked at a movie store and I would just find random stuff but the best movie that came from me doing that was Burying The Ex
@@JennaIsOverIt i haven’t watched that one but i’ll definitely check it out
You should do a list of some of your horror favorites that don't have jumpsacres. I love horror but I HATE jumpscares, so there's a lot I end up avoiding.
I hate jumpscares too. And horror movies abuse them nowadays. It's just an easy way to startle people without bringing that much to the movie. And imho being scared and being startled are different things.
The Invitation 2015 I think doesn't have (too many) of them. Ironically I just checked and it sort of starts with one but it's more for the sake of being ominous and the rest of the movie uses tension rather than jumpscares. Also the Blair Witch Project is a masterpiece in tension with very little to no jumpscares at all, I think.
I agree with your choices, it's a pretty good list already, but if you don't mind I'd like to add another 10 great movies for beginners:
- Trick R' Treat
- Sleepy Hollow
- Silent Hill
- The mummy
- ghost ship
- Alien
- The ruins
- It follows
- Orphan
- Ghotika
The Mummy original?
Thank you for making this! I started my channel a little bit ago (inspired by you) because I love horror but I'm super new to the genre, so I've been like binge watching your lists and recommendation videos to make a spreadsheet :') But now I have something I can definitivley dive into!
So glad you mentioned Signs. I saw it pretty young and it's by far my scariest movie memory of all time. Great intense moments, great cast and great story about a man questioning his faith. Love it.
I like horror but I'm a baby, so I have absolutely confirm that Scream is the perfect movie for people like me. It's honestly my favorite horror series
I think the reason people say The Blair Witch Project isn't scary or "nothing happens" is because they go in expecting to see a scary face pop out or some cheesy jumpscare. It's the realism and not knowing what's going on or what they're seeing that's terrifying for me.
Sleepy Hollow, Trick R' Treat, Coraline
i’m a early teen and i’m just trying to get into horror and i just got done watching the blair witch project like 5 mins ago. it was so good and not too scary, i would recommend it to anybody over the age of 12!
I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH!!! you make my day every single time you post ❤️
I have a soft spot for Crawl (I love creature features) so I’m so glad you included it.
I watched my first horror movie when I was 7 in 1968 so I am obviously from a different generation. For those interested in 80’s horror I highly recommend The Changeling with George C Scott and The Movie The Herse. I loved them both. Changeling was on UA-cam and is a great supernatural and not too scary….. I love your channel Sarah. Thanks so muxh
This is perfect! I’ll be watching some of these with my younger sister. She loves to watch spooky stuff with me, but I’m hesitant sometimes depending on whether I’ve seen the movie or not.
The Sixth Sense was the first horror movie I saw and I was traumatised for years!! Rewatching it now I'm so desentised but I still understood why it affected me so much
I started off with the first three Saw films. I've been a fan of the horror genre ever since.
My first horror movies were Poltergeist, Psycho, and Silence of the Lambs. All of which terrified me as a pre-teen lol. Omg and When a Stranger Calls!!! The go-to sleepover movie, probably watched it twenty times
Great list, and own a lot of these The only 1 I can't do is ( Blair Witch Project) Not because of the movie, but because all the jumping around makes me nauseous But the ones on your list that I haven't seen like Battle Royale I am definitely going to check out Thanks again!
I loved The Others!!! Also another good one not on this list is Ghost Ship❤
For young kids, The Gate is a good choice. And then Cannibal Holocaust.....Nah, I'm kidding.
I don't think recommanding modern horror for beginners should be controversial. I was born in 1991, so I started loving horror with a lot of movies from the 90's, early 2000's. Of course, I also watched older movies (And I love them) but modern horror was a gateway for a lot of us who were born after the 80's
this list is incredible!!! 🦇 I never wonder why you’re my favorite youtuber!
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm not really a beginner in the genre, but I have become a bit more sensitive to them, because I had a big horror break for a while, so slowly getting into it again.
Blair witch actually scared me so much the first time I watched it. I feel like you only get scared when you are really focussed on the movie when watching. otherwise the suspence and creeping eary feeling doesn't build up. Because my friend who isn't into horror and also gets scared by them quick, wasn't scared at all, but they didn't pay attention a lot.
I saw Signs in the theater, I would have been 16 or 17 at the time, no stranger to horror. I swear I had trouble sleeping for about a week after that. Still to this day even though I know what's coming it will scare me. Great work
I'm so stoked you mentioned Triangle! That movie stuck with me and basically no one I know has seen it or heard of it. Even to this day I think about the ending and how the loop could've started in the first place
A Tale of Two Sisters or Ringu are must watch films for anyone who's starting to dip their toes in the horror genre especially that Asian horror scene
As someone who loves absolutely scary movies, this is still a good list for old classics I usually have a craving to watch just during the day.
I thought the video was called "where to stream them" and I was like "ugh I hate sifting through google to find what I want" that's ok though haha
Oh you did! Awesome thank you!!
IT (1990) not scary, say that to the people with clown phobia hahaha
Paranormal Activity is totally a modern classic. It showcased what could still be done on a shoestring budget and was super effective.
The Descent is another modern classic imo. More intense though.
So,funny story, when I was little I really wanted to see Jaws, so, my mom got the DVD and watched it with me. I got all the way to the end,but then the shark cage scene happened. I didn't finish it until a few days later.
When a stranger calls (original or remake) is one of my all time favs. Not super scary, but the concept is creepy, especially if your a teenager who has ever babysat.
My brother will soon regret leaving my 12 year old niece with me 😈 she’s already seen most of these btw
amazing I’ll be the same way!
I’m trying to get into horror, watched around 7-9 movies. Just watched the sixth sense last night with my mom. It’s pretty scary but more so very heart wrenching and sad. So many emotional parts that almost some tears out of me, and I don’t really cry during movies. Definitely a great one.
Great video idea! I have younger sibling I am trying to get into this kind of stuff. They both love scream, Halloween, ANOES franchise , scary stories to tell in the dark, the gate, gremlins, the critters franchise, and a few others.
That was a pretty good list. I would have also suggested Monster Squad and Critters.
I had watched horror movies here and there before, but I had always been a chicken. Last year I said F it, im watching the original Evil Dead. I LOVED IT! Watched the sequel, LOVED IT! So I started watching more horror movies and content. Up until the point I had terrifying nightmare and said no more! So, for now I’ll just live vicariously through your videos lol
Are we gonna get a review for Antlers?
When I think of beginner horror I think of Shaun of the Dead, The Burbs, Psycho, The Birds, Silence of the Lambs etc. they be classics 😺😺😺
Hello! 19 year old horror newbie 😂 I just wanted to know which movies on this list I should watch first based upon other things I have watched. So I have watched and rewatched Stranger Things, I watched IT (the newer one), I also saw the 5th Scream movie (I did cover my eyes at certain parts though), and I have watched some of The Walking Dead. Those types of things I could handle, definitely got scared at certain parts but it wasn’t horrible to the point I couldn’t sleep Lmao 😂 Please let me know which of these I should watch first based upon that and if you have any other recommendations based upon what I can handle, let me know 😁
I’m totally biased, but if you’ve only seen the fifth scream, I definitely recommend watching the franchise from the beginning! The earlier ones in my opinion aren’t as gruesome. All 6 are on MAX or for rent or purchase for pretty cheap pretty much anywhere else. Paranormal activity is also a really fun one if you want something more supernatural. Really I’ve seen most of these movies and I don’t really think you can go wrong starting anywhere. 😊
(House on Haunted Hill is a must for me every year too)
Rec might be your alley, I'd say it's zombies + the midly claustrophobic environment of an old building + found footage. It got hyped quite a lot but I don't think it's overly scary or disturbing.
If you like the sci-fi aspect of Stranger Things you could go for the Alien franchise, and/or the Thing and its 2011 prequel. The latter is a bit heavy on the gore/body horror (from the perspective of a beginner) though I think most people can actually handle it and get used to it relatively easily because of the sci-fi theme. There are also other sci-fi horror movies out there like Sputnik, Life, Pandorum, Annihilation, Superdeep, Underwater, that wouldn't be all that bad I think for a beginner.
Amazing content as always. Keep them coming! 🔥🔥
I define a "horror" film....as totally different.....ie...jaws is NOT a horror movie.....scary....yes....horror...NO!...Alien....scary....yes....horror...NO...it's a sci-fi movie....classic horror flicks are BEST....less is more!
Ok this makes no sense, on your IG story from a little while ago you said your costume was a girl from a horror film that wasn’t the lead, except your costume is the lead
nope my costume was Maja from Midsommar :)
@@PossessedbyHorror oh thanks for clarifying, I forgot about her, by the way I love your videos
split is my all time favorite and i would definitely recommend it to beginners
This video is awesome omg!! I agree so much with carrie, the others, and creepshow those where some of the 1st movies i ever watched as kid lolol
