sad fact about the bye bye man; the director, stacy title, was diagnosed with als and is currently in a state where she only has control over her eyes. her husband, jonathan penner, was a player on the tv show survivor so him and stacy have been featured on this current season about raising money for als research and what not. they seem like incredible people and it's heartbreaking what they're going through.
anyone notice this video is actually only 14 movies?? lol I completely skipped over Stay Alive! what's your favorite "bad" horror movie that you actually enjoy?
That movie really delivered the goods. It was horrifying. And yeah, the guy who played Art was outstanding. The fact that he didn’t speak a word and had no backstory made it even creepier.
@@virginiapicker There's supposed to be a sequel coming out sometime later this year! Honestly I hope that we learn absolutely nothing about Art's backstory or who he is, the less we know the better imo
"The gore is not that bad." Art proceeds to saw a woman in half vertically. 😳 It was creepy film indeed. His staying silent through out the film despite being in pain adds to it.
Terrifier is such an underrated movie when I first watched it I fell in love like the scene where art the clown saws the blonde girl in half was so iconic I can’t wait for Terrifier 2
I absolutely love "Sorority Row". Besides the creative kills, i LIVE for the bitchy dialogues, especially from the character Jessica. It's almost like "Mean Girls", just as a slasher. And the soundtrack is amazing, too. And i just realized how many well-known actors Molly Hartley has. I mean, Haley Bennett alone. I also love "House of Wax", "Asylum" and "Terrifier". Art deserves a way higher budget.
I would add Zombie Strippers. It's so freaking bad, cheesy, bad acting, bad dialogs, cheesy humor, over the top gore and nudity, but it is kind of fun and it has some really nice original scenes and ideas. If you get over horrible acting it's actually quite fun.
I recently watched Apostle, Triangle, Cam, and The Ritual because of this channel. I’m very thankful I’ve found your channel, keep up the great work and suggestions. 😊
Evil Dead really shouldn’t be on here either. I really don’t understand her idea of bad, or cheesy, especially when Evil Dead was widely considered one of the most disturbing films of the era. The tree rape was not meant to be funny or cheesy. Evil Dead 2, gets very trippy, and is campy in many scenes, but neither is a so bad it’s good. There’s a big difference between so bad it’s good, campy horror comedy, and just B movies. I mean with many of these choices she may as well just throw the entire slasher genre as so bad it’s good. Most of her choices are just bad movies.
CorbCorbin I get what she means by looking back at the movie. Like teens or kids or even adults today watching it who never saw it before might think it looks cheesy or bad looking since it is over the top with effects and dialogue. Bad could mean good as well so I see why that movie is on the list
Taft Euphoria Yeah, I agree with that, but one could say the same for Psycho, which I laughed at as a teenager. Many of my friends never could get past it being black and white, and the dialogue from the era, yet it doesn’t take away from how influential it is. It’s the only movie on her list that I feel that strongly about, because the others I think are just bad, are more subjective.
House of Wax is my guilty pleasure. Early 2000s horror make me happy. The color palette, the cheesy rock music, Paris Hilton impaled in the face. I adore it all.
Every high school theatre has a ghost. At my school it was a girl who died my freshman year and I swear I’ve seen her sitting in the auditorium while we would practice but I never said anything until after high school. And I finally told someone and they said “yeah we’ve seen her too” RIP S.
House of wax is also one of my favorite horror movies ! It’s cheesy but it’s so entertaining! The gore and death scenes are so cool and well done! Paris hilton did pretty good in it & also the soundtrack did provide me with one of my favorite songs 🥂
Such a fun video! I personally don't think From Beyond, TCM 2 or The Evil Dead belong in this list because to me they're so good they're beyond good! Troll 2 (1990) would be at the top of my list of films so bad they're good (if I ever made one). I also really love the idea of you making a video on films you changed your opinion on, that's so interesting!
"It ate him... Bit off his head... like a gingerbread man" -Crawford Tillinghast, From Beyond. Loves me some Jeffrey Combs. Jeffrey Combs also has the most reoccurring guest appearances across a few Star Trek series.
Stay Alive, Ghost Ship, and Thir13en Ghosts reign supreme in my book! Wildly unrealistic stories/plots, deep lore, comedy, gore, archetypal characters, questionable dialogue, aesthetics that fit the budgets, and a lacking of try-hard-ness. I love a movie that knows it’s technically bad and uses that understanding to enhance the viewing experience, rather than trying to hide it and failing. Just because a movie is bad doesn’t mean it has to suck!
One of my favourite guilty pleasures that is kinda horror (not really but like zombies) is pride & prejudice zombies! I don’t know why but I have re-watched it soooo many times and love it
House Of Wax was my favorite movie growing up- probably because Chad Michael Murray, lets be real. I really enjoyed the story though, predictable? sure. but heckin’ original! Would love to see a review of Ghost Ship, and would love an episode series going through the 10 episodes of Haunting of Hill House ♥️
@Black Ninja oh yeah, I remember that! it's that one episode with Paris Hilton, right ? She's like the villain of the episode and I think she's playing herself...
Troll 2 is always my go-to "it's so bad its good' movie, I mean its not a sequel and there are no trolls in it. I have fond memories of it from my childhood and honestly, it's what got me into horror. if you haven't seen it, do your self a favor and do.
My favorite part of The Gallows was that opening the audience had no idea what was going to happen. Their reactions were 100% authentic. It’s such a good movie
Clown was such a good movie!! Like i watched it not expecting anything and loved it. I feel like the guy did what normal people would do in that situation, like he went to hospital to try and get it off! So underrated. And i tottally agree about Unfriended, loved the fact it was all from her computer screen, was a really different approach and kept me engaged! Great list, im gonna have to watch Rest Stop now! Xxx
The Bye Bye Man, Unfriended, and The Gallows are in my cycle of "I dunno what to watch" type of movie picks I don't think I've seen the others, but some seemed worth checking out for sure
This is one of my favorite genres, but I get a lot of flak for it. Some of my personal favorites from it are My Boyfriend's Back, Night of the Creeps, 13 Ghosts, Reanimator, and Nick Cage movies.
The Gravedancers. It was on the Horror After Dark circuit back in the mid to late 2000s. Not a good movie but thoroughly enjoyable and I can’t believe it doesn’t get mentioned more.
I feel like it can be hard to separate "so bad its good" from "campy". I feel like Evil Dead is campy because of an ultra low budget, and is ingenious in how it uses that budget. However, Bruce Campbell struggling to get out from under Styrofoam bookshelves will never not be funny.
Close to home fact about The Gallows, it was filmed in Fresno, CA at the Veterans Museum. My hometown is near Fresno and I won tickets on the radio to a haunt at the Veterans Museum based on The Gallows! It was a really cool haunt that put you in scenes from the movie. I also won a blu ray copy of the movie and a poster 😁
I think she is very typical of people her age, I'm 50 so I saw it at the cinema And loved it but when you grow up seeing CGI, practical effects just don't do it for you, the Exorcist being one of the few exceptions. I don't hold it against her Again I think it's simply her age, I'm guessing she might not have ever owned a VHS tape.
If you weren’t born or lived the 80’s and basically born mid to late 90’s you’ll never really appreciate how much fun the 80’s were for horror films be it a cheesy film or A+ film. Don’t get me wrong there are a good amount of younger people who adore the 80’s but it’s the 00’s that really started to take a turn for the worse with remakes, paranormal activities, saw movies hundreds of possession films etc
@Tom Ffrench oh ok.... that’s why there are so many big movies in all genres that came out in the 80’s as well as well recognized songs/albums and well received tv shows......as opposed to today where if it’s not a remake that sinks in the theaters it’s ripping off another’s idea. And who can forget great songs by Justin Bieber and lady gaga (eek!) and awesome tv shows today like American idol or any other “ Reality tv” that could come to mind. Not saying everything that came out of the 00’s is complete crap but about 85% is.
I’m so happy you mentioned house of wax!!! It was one of the first horror movies I saw when I was younger and I really loved the film and it brings me a ton of nostalgia.
house of wax and evil dead are in my top 10 horror movies and tcm2 is maybe one of my favorite movies ever? nobody ever talks about the positives of house of wax, so i'm grateful you gave it the praise it may or may not deserve
-Terrifier I really enjoyed and Art is so scary -Clown is actually good -Halloween 3 -Drive thru (the one with horny the clown)😂 -House of Wax is also good I enjoyed it when I was a kid, besides the soundtrack is amazing (MCR' s Helena in the credits) and Sam Winchester is here😅
I actually legitimately loved Clown. The scene at Chucky Cheese is just brilliant. It's also directed by Jon Watts who directed the MCU Spiderman movies.
I completely get what you mean about liking teen horror movies from the 2000s, I feel the same as this is when I was first getting into horror so they feel really nostalgic to me.
So many of the good bad early 2000s movies take me back to sleepovers. Who could forget the tounge scene of dead silence. Great memories blindly selecting DVDs from Video EZY with nothing more than reading the back.
While being a slasher at heart, House of Wax is an underrated, ambitious horror masterpiece. You haven't seen "it's so bad, it's good" until you've seen 'Nail Gun Massacre'.
Oml yes and I swear NO ONE remembers this movie Ouija I forget when it came out but I watched it with my mom and family and we are still quoting ‘hey girl hey’ to this day
I’m glad I’m not the only one who actually enjoyed Unfriended. Like yeah it’s not a perfect movie but it definitely gets an A for effort and it’s uniqueness. That’s a whole other type of found footage that no other movie has done. Cannibal Holocaust and Blair Witch solidified the genre, Paranormal Activity changed it up with using surveillance cameras, so not only do we see what the characters see, but also what they don’t see, and then Unfriended introduces the idea of using a webcam on a laptop.
'Interesting' choice on Evil Dead given it is pretty much a genre classic. Yes it was low budget and for a generation viewing now the effects might seem 'cheesy to laughable', but the quality of direction, the visual invention, awareness of what it is doing is pretty much a sign of greatness. There is a reason Bruce Campbell is a horror icon.
Mark Chase I think it’s because of her views on mental health, and making sure to stay on brand, as it sometimes has a lot to do with why she dislikes certain films. I mean her other channel is the bigger one. I think she’s purposely put many of these on here just to be “different.” Many of these movies are just bad.
The title of So Bad it’s Good, just wasn’t the right choice for this list of movies. 15 movies and Evil Dead makes the list, I question what one considers a bad movie, or a good one for that matter. *I mean, just checking the why found footage is great video, let’s me know a lot.
One night, when resting during the night at the club I sat down and watched b movies with a couple in their 30's without the audio... The songs on the dancefloor were the soundtrack! Oh the fun times!
I got so happy when you mentioned rest stop! Such an underrated B horror movie. I remember the first time I watched it was on the sci-fi channel around like 2 a.m. I was like 13/14 years old. Ahhh the early 2000's 😊 lol.
It is absolutely terrible but I adore Valentine, the kills are so over the top and it's completely ridiculous but I love it! Not really horror but definitely freaky - They Live! Would love to hear your thoughts on them!
Have you ever seen the early 2000s horror movie Penny Dreadful? I never hear anyone talk about it but I think it's directly up your alley. Also the fact it centers around a girl who has a phobia of driving/being in cars lol but it's really decent I think you'd like it. It has that nice early 2000s scary movie aesthetic that I feel like is all our "guilty pleasures" xD
I wouldn’t dare cringe at The Bye Bye Man. Happy that you put it on this list and to know I’m not the only one who enjoys this movie in the weirdest of ways. Especially after finding out that it’s based on true events. I love rewatching this film.
I agree with and love sorority row , cabin fever 2 , terrifier and unfriended . 90s /2000s teen slashers are one of my fave sub genres also haven’t seen any of the others yet .
I also love Bite which is bad but good , watched it loads of times. Also love films unfriended dark web , 47 metres down/ uncaged films , also stranded in the sea genre .
I disagree, The Evil Dead is not a bad movie. It was made with a very low budget. Unlike Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead suffers from its low budget because it does include more elaborate special effects. My pick for so bad it's good is The Killer Shrews(1959), which you can watch here on UA-cam. It's cheaply made, has all the standard cliches, it's not the least bit artistic, yet I always enjoy it especially the ending.
I LOVE sorority row it’s one of my favorite horror movies ever ! Yes it’s not great but it’s entertaining and the soundtrack is good and the death scenes are HELLA COOL !
TheHitherto YES! I loved her snark and sarcasm!! She was a different type of “bitch” character she was sarcastic even when the killer was revealed she was still being sarcastic & iconic 🤣💅🏼🔥🥂
@@jactober True. Unlike many movie bitches (who you're supposed to hate) she was so OTT she became strangely charming. Every single line spewing out of her mouth were quotable.
Totally agree with Texas chainsaw massacre 2, the fact that its a whole different sub genre from the first one gives the movie such a cool lil corky personality!
My “So Bad They’re Good” or “Guilty Pleasures” horror movie list would be: 1. Wish Upon 2. Ouija 3. Vatican Tapes 4. The Fog 5. Hide and Seek 6. I Know What You Did Last Summer 7. When A Stranger Calls 8. The Happening 9. The Blair Witch 2 10. One Missed Call

Me!
After watching Terrifier I now see Art the clown when I close my eyes. Has to be the most disturbing lead character ever.😱
I agree. It shouldn't have been on this list. It's in no way bad. Being from the 80s or low budget doesn't make it bad.
Aonghas this girls lists are always super questionable
Aonghas Evil Dead is not bad at all, poor choice here!!!
Mark Chase
I think it’s because of her views on mental health, and making sure to stay on brand, as it sometimes has a lot to do with why she dislikes certain films.
I mean her other channel is the bigger one. I think she’s purposely put many of these on here just to be “different.”
Many of these movies are just bad.
I remember watching 'House of Wax' remake in theaters and everyone clapping when Paris Hilton got killed in the movie
crazy that you called Ti West underrated and now 4 years later, he’s made the entire blockbuster X franchise…
Terrifier 2 is coming out I can't wait Along with Halloween Kills both scheduled for October
Sorority row, Planet of Terror, and Jennifer's Body 🖤🖤🖤🖤
jennifer’s body is ICONIC
I wouldn’t dare cringe at The Bye Bye Man. Happy that you put it on this list and to know I’m not the only one who enjoys this movie in the weirdest of ways. Especially after finding out that it’s based on true events. I love rewatching this film.
Terrifier was brilliant I know it's cheesy but I love it and can't wait for the sequel.
Totally agree. It was horrifying. Which is pretty much why we watch horror movies.
Killer shrews was great!
Theres a while category of horror movies like unfriended were its filmed like a computer and i love all of them
Bye bye man is such a bad good movie, love watching it with friends, the train scene is so comical!
Thank you for talking about Clown I love that movie and no one ever talks about it
I LOVE sorority row it’s one of my favorite horror movies ever ! Yes it’s not great but it’s entertaining and the soundtrack is good and the death scenes are HELLA COOL !
Not to mention Leah Pipes playing the funniest "bitch character" in a horror movie ever!
@@thehitherto5348 Oh she was GREAT in that movie! When she cited "bad acting" all I could think was "Leah Pipes would like a word" :P
Totally agree with Texas chainsaw massacre 2, the fact that its a whole different sub genre from the first one gives the movie such a cool lil corky personality!
The Happening, though. A classic for all the wrong reasons lol
Pooka Plateada I love the happening so much 😅
Good Movie
So glad From Beyond is getting some recognition!
Bruh, when you were explaining Clown, I was 100% like "Holy shit, that sounds amazing" 😭
I agree so much with your take on Clown!I watched it a really liked the movie despite the bizarre concept. I showed my friends and they hated it lol.
The Bye Bye Man is one of my guilty pleasures, it almost feels like a parody.
Please review Tumbbad, the cinematography and set design is so so cool.
The bbye bye man on my country came with the name of “never say his name” (thats more horror than TBBM) 🤷🏼♀️
Because of you I watched the Terrifier for the first time!! I LOVED THIS MOVIE ❤❤❤
I feel like this about Wrong Turn and all the awful sequels. Like, I know they're so bad but I love them 😂
I've only seen Evil Dead and Terrifier, but those are also two of my favorite horror movies.
On god, TCM2 is my favorite horror movie. It's just so damn fun
My “So Bad They’re Good” or “Guilty Pleasures” horror movie list would be:
1. Wish Upon
2. Ouija
3. Vatican Tapes
4. The Fog
5. Hide and Seek
6. I Know What You Did Last Summer
7. When A Stranger Calls
8. The Happening
9. The Blair Witch 2
10. One Missed Call
