I am also against DEI, so you aren't alone! I hate that people who advocate for this unjust system, argue that it "helps" Black people and other racial groups. @looksoferikha Hey thank you! I’m so glad and also surprised to see how many people of color agree with what I am saying. And the future is rather promising than dismal. 💕 💗
Totally agree. After CDPR's "girls in the game" program, I'm totally against this whole thing. A particular group of (healthy) people getting special privileges is bs. hiring based on demographics and identity sounds a lot like racism and sexism to me. its literally discrimination
I just looked up CDPR’s Girls in the Game thing. This is downright sexism privileging females and excluding (literally, leaving out) males! I think if only some male activist groups had made up their collective mind firmly, they might have been able to take it to court, and then won the case or something! Looks like an easy case but oh, men of this age, and our utter lack of a pair of nuts. 🥜🌰🌰

I never get how DEI advocate rail against Racism and Sexism, by advocating absolute criteria based on race and gender itself. Did they even thought that through? I always get that feeling that they played Factorio too much, thinking if you just made it proportional, it'll just run it's course naturally, not caring that, regardless of Race or Gender, everyone have different motivations and goals, not all will conform their idealized ratio. Doing so will only punish the motivated and reward mediocrity, even worse, it might have the opposite effect, making the ones with the hardest entry requirement to work harder and score higher and the ones without, stagnant or even degrade. Which might even cause more of a gap in those categories.
Right? If the playground is not even, why not try to even the playground? Instead of just giving out medals who didn't earn them by sacrificing the performance of those who are GOOD?
The best way to be inclusive is to accept everyone based on their merit regardless of their racial background. It is not supposed to be a preference of minority races.
By the meaning of term DEI, it sounds nice, but it's basically only meant for black people just like all the modern movies and tv shows we see right now. How does it make it as diversity? They might as well call it BEI.
Agreed. Also I have noticed a lot of advertisements only show people with more melanin in their skin... which doesn't really represent the current demographics. (Except for Toronto... I think the current ads represent the demographics of Toronto very well lol where whites are so hard to find and it's all Asians, blacks, etc.)
DEI was meant for people who were historically left out of advancement due to their non-whiteness, regardless of qualifications the old boy system when it came to elite school systems where parents graduated from or donated Large sum of money too like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Berkeley, etc.
I get what you are saying, but DEI is still necessary in many places. If we lived in a perfectly meritocratic society, we would not need this, but we do not. As a Korean, I am sure you are aware of the rampant nepotism there. In the US, its nepotism and racism. I do agree that there are many people who are abusing DEI, but it is still a necessity
@@babycarl9585 I don't think you understand how DEI works. You should read Thomas Sowell on how DEI program produced more dropouts than graduate on the targeted demographics it was meant to benefit. in a fair world, the field would be equal i'll put it this way you can see it for yourself. The Chinatown area of Chicago is always received more than the lion share of the investment when it comes to city putting resources into a specific area such as beautiful streets, lighting, new roads, brand, new schools, and which the residents do not want African-American kids using their "schools. This is quite a bit of migrants in Chinatown, but they're from China. They never made a contribution, but yet they're at the front of the line for when resources are Distributed Just as Our white counterpart Look at the students whose parents were able to make a large financial contribution to an organization. Their kids are the top of the rung Because daddy's family left in endowment some years ago they have the magic number that allows them first choice, regardless of ability That is how various governmental agencies were formed across America, such as police fire, medical schools and other institutions That would enable access to the American dream In other words, artificial barriers have been put in place for 100s of years when it comes to African-Americans of course Whats Really crazy is that research has shown African-Americans just in America lose $158 billion annually due to home appraisals and the homebuying process that wealth is shoveled into the coffers of people buying African-American properties And of course you can see where I'm going with this it's been going on for years the extraction of wealth from black communities, the further eroding generational wealth
I would say that's also a form of discrimination like you are suggesting, for sure. Which is why I'm saying all the time, no checkboxes at all, please!!! It should even be banned to ask, to begin with.

Disagree. The point of DEI is to include those who are qualify but are excluded because of race and gender. As an Asian myself, I applied to many jobs that did not have Asian diversity and I was not getting jobs easily simply because I am not qualify. That is one of the workings of DEI. Recruiters should just not hire me based on my race alone. However, it will be a different story when it comes to where everyone is qualified including me. People should hire diversity in large companies or organizations to gain different knowledge and perspective on other cultures in order to improve business. For instance, if you want to sell your products internationally you might want to consider rebranding/know your product for the other country. This can be reasons such as languages and different tastes. Companies might want to hire knowledgeable people from different cultures to gain more customers internationally or on cultural level. DEI also can protect discrimination when hiring, as people who are equally qualified they are likely hired based on race. For instance, White sounding names are significantly chosen more than black sounding names. www.npr.org/2024/04/11/1243713272/resume-bias-study-white-names-black-names There are criticisms of DEI is understandable, but they should be improved rather than to just get rid of or just kept the same way. You and I probably experience this when being accepted to college as many Asians tend to be highly educated. Many colleges are flooded with Asian applicants and could not accept many Asian applicants due to diversity. However, getting rid of DEI is not solve the problem. Its the size of the colleges that is the problem. Despite colleges having over billions of dollars in endowments, tuition, and sponsorships, they have issues of not having enough room to accept everyone who is qualified.
As an incompetent person, I totally support DEI and will take full advantage of it.
