I am also against DEI, so you aren't alone! I hate that people who advocate for this unjust system, argue that it "helps" Black people and other racial groups. It's as if they're saying that we're too incompetent to navigate life without handouts. It's mildly infuriating, and I'm glad you decided to spread awareness about this topic.

I get what you are saying, but DEI is still necessary in many places. If we lived in a perfectly meritocratic society, we would not need this, but we do not. As a Korean, I am sure you are aware of the rampant nepotism there. In the US, its nepotism and racism. I do agree that there are many people who are abusing DEI, but it is still a necessity

By the meaning of term DEI, it sounds nice, but it's basically only meant for black people just like all the modern movies and tv shows we see right now. How does it make it as diversity? They might as well call it BEI.

Disagree. The point of DEI is to include those who are qualify but are excluded because of race and gender. As an Asian myself, I applied to many jobs that did not have Asian diversity and I was not getting jobs easily simply because I am not qualify. That is one of the workings of DEI. Recruiters should just not hire me based on my race alone. However, it will be a different story when it comes to where everyone is qualified including me. People should hire diversity in large companies or organizations to gain different knowledge and perspective on other cultures in order to improve business. For instance, if you want to sell your products internationally you might want to consider rebranding/know your product for the other country. This can be reasons such as languages and different tastes. Companies might want to hire knowledgeable people from different cultures to gain more customers internationally or on cultural level. DEI also can protect discrimination when hiring, as people who are equally qualified they are likely hired based on race. For instance, White sounding names are significantly chosen more than black sounding names. www.npr.org/2024/04/11/1243713272/resume-bias-study-white-names-black-names There are criticisms of DEI is understandable, but they should be improved rather than to just get rid of or just kept the same way. You and I probably experience this when being accepted to college as many Asians tend to be highly educated. Many colleges are flooded with Asian applicants and could not accept many Asian applicants due to diversity. However, getting rid of DEI is not solve the problem. Its the size of the colleges that is the problem. Despite colleges having over billions of dollars in endowments, tuition, and sponsorships, they have issues of not having enough room to accept everyone who is qualified.

@@babycarl9585 I don't think you understand how DEI works. You should read Thomas Sowell on how DEI program produced more dropouts than graduate on the targeted demographics it was meant to benefit. Asians in general usually have the hardest entry requirements in the US at least. Besides, morally speaking, barring deserving candidates based on their race not merit are wrong by itself. It shouldn't even exist given the traditional meaning of right or wrong or even Racism.

I never get how DEI advocate rail against Racism and Sexism, by advocating absolute criteria based on race and gender itself. Did they even thought that through? I always get that feeling that they played Factorio too much, thinking if you just made it proportional, it'll just run it's course naturally, not caring that, regardless of Race or Gender, everyone have different motivations and goals, not all will conform their idealized ratio. Doing so will only punish the motivated and reward mediocrity, even worse, it might have the opposite effect, making the ones with the hardest entry requirement to work harder and score higher and the ones without, stagnant or even degrade. Which might even cause more of a gap in those categories.

The thing is, Asians havent really benefited from DEI either the past couple years, they have been treated much like whites. Because if we went on merit and skill alone then it would be a vast majority whites and asians. Asians have been excluded from getting into Universities when things are not based on merit and instead those spots were given to black people that didn't score as high. Every type of media that try to be more "inclusive" is never about including more asians, it's always replacing someone with a black person. Almost all ads now are "white woman, black man", DEI is more the inclusion of people with darker than middle-eastern skin color and the exclusion of everyone else.

They don't want true diversity. They have demonstrated that at every turn, if you do not conform to the party narrative, you are to be censored or ostracized. They want an Orwellian CONFORMITY. They don't want true equality. It's equity they want- and not even the normal meaning of it either. The kind of equity DEI strives for is one that focuses on "REMEDIAL JUSTICE" aka- "your race did so and so in the past, so now our race has to get back at you, i.e. by getting unfair advantages today". They don't want inclusivity. They have demonstrated that if you are not with them, you are persona non-grata. You are EXCLUDED. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, really means: Distort, Instigate, Exclude

in a fair world, the field would be equal i'll put it this way you can see it for yourself. The Chinatown area of Chicago is always received more than the lion share of the investment when it comes to city putting resources into a specific area such as beautiful streets, lighting, new roads, brand, new schools, and which the residents do not want African-American kids using their "schools. This is quite a bit of migrants in Chinatown, but they're from China. They're using resources and which they have never put A nickel and contribution for the resources used Just as the migrants from the southern border are using our resources the Chinese in America have done the same thing for the past few years They have gotten a free ride You may ask what is that free ride Ali ? They never made a contribution, but yet they're at the front of the line for when resources are Distributed Just as Our white counterpart Look at the students whose parents were able to make a large financial contribution to an organization. Their kids are the top of the rung Because daddy's family left in endowment some years ago they have the magic number that allows them first choice, regardless of ability That is how various governmental agencies were formed across America, such as police fire, medical schools and other institutions That would enable access to the American dream In other words, artificial barriers have been put in place for 100s of years when it comes to African-Americans of course Whats Really crazy is that research has shown African-Americans just in America lose $158 billion annually due to home appraisals and the homebuying process that wealth is shoveled into the coffers of people buying African-American properties And of course you can see where I'm going with this it's been going on for years the extraction of wealth from black communities, the further eroding generational wealth

DEI was meant for people who were historically left out of advancement due to their non-whiteness, regardless of qualifications the old boy system when it came to elite school systems where parents graduated from or donated Large sum of money too like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Berkeley, etc.

and when the Chinese president came to America this year, you could've swore all of China came with him. He was greeted with a heroes. Welcome out there in California if they love him so much go back with him.

it's funny you would say something like that but maybe not I'm not in your shoes or skin however it was a time in America when Asians didn't have it so easy during the civil rights era didn't see any Asians fighting for their civil rights. Grab them after the hard work, African-Americans did, you slipped in 33% of all medical doctors in America or Asian almost the same in IT field and other endeavors like Trump said he brought the China virus here and all of a sudden you and Ed Bloom or guess everything they'll say they built the railroad back in the day that's not totally true. African slaves built the railroads so did Irish in English minorities was the African slave that didn't get paid everybody got a check and those are facts.

I think its an attempt by the super rich to prevent everyone from identifying as poor. If we did we would stop arguing about genetics, sexuality and gender and demand higher pay. In 90% of families the man is expected to provide so i support full male employnent at good wages. We can build robot controlled factories building houses. We just need to distribute them to everyone who needs them.
