12:42 Check out my video on how the gallbladder can refer pain to the shoulder
Today, I want to help you address the right problem when it comes to shoulder pain.
I’ve found that in many cases, shoulder pain is referred pain, and it comes from the bile duct. This duct becomes plugged and leads to pressure on the phrenic nerve, which goes right up into your neck. When this nerve is irritated it can cause shoulder pain. It’s important to get on the keto diet and do intermittent fasting to help reduce this pressure. You may also need purified bile salts or a Gallbladder Formula.
There is a simple hanging exercise you can do for a problem that is in your shoulder and is not referred. I believe this is the best exercise for shoulder pain (I cover this exercise in the video).
Inflammation in the shoulder could be caused by something you ate the day before. Reducing omega-6 fatty acids and increasing omega-3 fatty acids is essential. One of the best natural remedies for inflammation that I’ve found is stinging nettle root. Keto and intermittent fasting are also essential. Vitamin D3 in combination with vitamin K2 can also be beneficial.
Tips for sleeping if you have shoulder pain:
    1. Don’t sleep on your side with all of your pressure on the shoulder joint. Instead, tuck your shoulder in about 2 inches forward.
    2. Make sure your head is neutral with your spine.
    3. Roll up a small towel or washcloth and put it under your neck to provide support and take pressure off the shoulder.
    4. Roll up a small towel or washcloth and put it underneath your shoulder on your ribcage.
    5. Don’t have your head too far forward or backward.
    6. Invest in a good-quality pillow.
    7. Don’t sleep on your stomach.
    8. Don’t sleep on your back with your hands under your head.
    9. Sleep with a pillow between your knees.
The best position to sleep in if you have shoulder pain:
On your side with your head on a good pillow and in a neutral position, your shoulders tucked forward, with a rolled towel under your neck and a rolled towel under your ribcage, and a pillow between your knees.

Started hanging and doing pull ups months ago with gymnastic rings in the garage. Most if not all of my shoulder and neck pain has gone away. Can’t stress enough how much your back and shoulders need pull ups to stay strong and stretch all those muscles. I’m still not that good but the point is getting up there and hanging for as long as you can.

I injured my shoulder, and found that hanging provided *some* relief. But, because I had been doing a ton of physical labor that uses the muscles involved in internal rotation of the shoulder, I still had impingement and pain. I thought I was helping myself by doing a lot of pull-ups, but I recently learned that where the lat attaches, it can pull the ball at the top of the humerus forward in the socket in the shoulder, leading impingement. Once I learned that, I added dumbbell pullovers across a flat bench to stretch my lats hard enough to allow the ball to sit in the socket as it should, eliminating the impingement and the pain.

Dr Berg, I had this shoulder pain for years and when I started the Keto diet some years back , it just vanished. Afterwards, I took it easy and I went back to a low carb diet and occasionally indulged in some high carb foods. The shoulder pain came right back and it was always accompanied by a pain below the rib cage.
Until now I was thinking that the shoulder pain affected the stomach. Now I think you are absolutely right that it is the other way around.
I have now reverted back to keto diet with IF for last two weeks. So far no shoulder pain from last week onwards. Will keep a watch on this carefully. Thanks a ton for this tip.

I've had a history of severe neck pain (80% right sided) that used to start shortly after waking and would last 3/4 of the day. Then it dawned on me that it was from my usual sleep position - on my stomach with my neck twisted to the right and my left cheek resting on the pillow. That meant my neck was twisted hard to the right for almost 8 hours every night! For me it was ALL in the way I slept. When I changed to sleeping on my back, the neck pain problem IMMEDIATELY stopped.

Dr Berg, I’ve been doing clean Keto for 8 months now and overall feeling amazing. I do however have deltoid pain in my left shoulder and thought it was my sleeping position because I’m a side sleeper. Is there another cause for this? Thank you

Feels like you’re talking directly to me which lets me know 1. I’m not the only one experiencing this, and 2. I shouldn’t be in fear because there is hope for positive change with knowledge like this.💝

Hi Dr. Berg. Thank you very much for this video. I have pain in my right shoulder for the last 3 days, and it is happening for the last few years after I carry a heavy weight, or - pulling my hand back. Otherwise, it doesn’t hurt. Thank you.

Thank you Dr Berg, as always. My shoulder pain was caused by tripping over something on my bedroom floor and crashing into the wall! I saved bashing my face and head by putting out my hands, and this jolted and wrenched my left shoulder. That was many months ago, and the shoulder pain is just about gone - I sometimes feel it during Pilates classes. I'm a 70-year-old woman and I now make sure there are no tripping hazards around!

When i went to the "real" doctors they just gave me pain killers and told me to strengthen it, but not actually explaining anything or showing any kind of expertise.
A 1 min video on this channel makes more sense than all mt visits put together and it's getting to the point where i can almost self diagnose myself.

This is so informative. I have been having neck and shoulder pain for months, but I had my gall bladder removed. Could it just be that my shoulder pains are from sleeping in the wrong position?

Thank you Dr. Berg. And how to treat a frozen shoulder ? Does it come from the shoulder or from pinged nerves in the neck ? I deal with this condition for one year and do physio-therapy but I have very few results.

Thank you Dr.Berg for this informative video on shoulder pain! Now I understand why I’m experiencing pain on my left shoulder! I had removed my gallbladder over 20 years ago. It may be related to why I’m experiencing this pain! Any suggestions on the pancreas in relation to my gallbladder removed?
Thank you for sharing and caring for humanity and healing solutions to better lives and lifestyle!

  • @jgregorygraves5792

I used to suffer the right-side shoulder pain that he describes. I started OMAD (one meal a day) and cut down on sugars and carbs dramatically on an intuitional basis to relieve other symptoms of metabolic syndrome I was suffering and the shoulder pain incidentally disappeared after a few months of such practice. It wasn't until after about 2 years of such practice that I discovered KETO and how my experience matched its health claims convincing me to constantly research and adopt KETO. Dr. Berg was the first to make me realize why my shoulder pain had disappeared when I had watched the video on the subject made prior to this one; it was probably the video he suggests at the end of this video. So, Dr. Berg's remedy worked for me.
